Description sd this entree included sliced beets, arugula and radicchio, crushed pistachios, pickled red onion, balsamic vinaigrette. The salad had red & gold cubed beets. Don't recall if it had the radicchio; don't think so. The best balsamic vinaigrette dressing!!... It was just a touch sweet as well as tangy. 6-hr Braised Short rib See picture. It was obviously a long rib ...or a small cow, Lol!) Menu sd, 6-hr Braised Short rib. Confit fingerling potatoes, broccolini, tobacco onion, red wine reduction. Boy, did this entree come with so much more! It included baby carrots, asparagus instead of broccolini, and a beautiful garnish (almost a serving size) of pea shoots. Sooo tender and juicy. Initially, I was like "where's the gravy (Au jus)?. But, didn't need it at all. Re the confit fingerling potatoes... I wasn't accustomed to this being associated with potatoes; a pleasant learning experience because they were good. (Don't judge me... not a Chef but a foodie on the DL.) Pea shoots may have been primarily as a garnish. But, so tasty! The Tobacco onions atop. Soo tasty too!! The presentation of both entrees was FIRST class. Ceasar Salad- My friend had a Ceasar Salad and said it was delicious. I tasted it several hrs later and it was very good. I dare say the best Ceasar salad I've ever had. We hosted an anniversary brunch here (April 2026) for 35 people. We had a party room that was the perfect size for plated service for 25-40 people. We offered 3 entrees: teriyaki salmon, flat-iron steak, & a chicken breast. All the food was terrific with generous portion sizes. Luis Pulido (asst food & bev ops mgr) put together lovely custom menu cards for our guests & set up round + long banquet tables that worked perfectly for our event. I'm impressed. We typically don't enjoy the "hotel" food. These chefs are plating beautiful and well thought out meals. They even have daily deals. Which included a braised lamb. It looked beautiful. But we didn't order it, so I didn't feel right about running over to someone else's table to get a pic. You'll have to trust me. Our waitress was hustling and we still never waited or wanted. Shout out to Olga. She was great. Say hi. I had the salmon quinoa bowl and hubs had the Amish chicken. Both exceeded expectations and were healthy guilt free options. Everything was completely fresh and perfectly done. For dessert we had the caramello. Caramellos wish they were that good. The head chef even came out to talk to customers. Since we stayed at the Westin, and it was pretty late, Benchmark was a nice option for a restaurant on site. We went for the club sandwich and the burger. Both were actually pretty tasty, although the kitchen here is definitely heavy handed with the salt. Fries were very good (salty) and they were generous with the amount. For a "gastropub" the beer options weren't that big but there's a style for everybody out there. Full bar as well. Service was decent. One at the bar and one roving staff to take orders. read more

Ordered the burger with a side salad. Everything came out quickly and service was great. Burger was a little overdone on one side but otherwise tasty and mostly cooked at the right temp. Salad was fresh and dressing was a standard thick balsamic. If you're in a pinch and need to eat at the hotel, this place does the trick. read more

Let me first start by saying what an amazing experience from kitchen staff to servers. I had a 5star experience from the minute I sat down. To the sec my meal hit the table! Have never had such an amazing lobster bisque soup full of spice, left me wanting more. I also had the beef burger that just made your mouth melt! Chef Ramzi was also nice enough to make a Beef TarTar at my request and the picture doesn't do it justice bc of the blurry but what an amazing dish. I was very pleased to find a quality restaurant located in The Westin O'Hare. I arrived late and it was open until 1:00 a.m. that day. I was very busy at 9 p.m. I received quick service and enjoyed a very good flatbread. I felt the food and wine menus were limited and that is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. For hotel food, it was really decent. What is that mean? For hotel food standard, the pricing was right for the quality and the amount of food you get. Unfortunately, it was closed due to covid for lunch time but when I popped my head In the restaurant to order take out I got in trouble for coming in. They should have locked the door then or put a sign at the door. So I don't care for the manager and the wait staff who were not so friendly about it. I ended up ordering at the front desk. It is 18 dollars for that huge chicken. It was tender and nice light gravy sauce. I would not mind eating here if I was staying here again. read more

Hotel Restaurant and bar You want a hotel to have food. Especially when it's a few blocks to anything else. Been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner and as a late night place to sit and talk. TV's are big, but sound is tolerable. Crowds come and go in waves. Service is terrific when slow, and slow when busy. Food came in 5 minutes. Check took over 30 (a sales group had come in). Burgers were above average with bacon and a pickle on'em. Crab cakes had lots of crab, but no flavor. Corn that surrounded the crab patty thing had no flavor either. And they didn't know anything about old bay. Breakfast was ok with a big bowl of fruit and yoghurt. Coffee came out in a carafe which was nice. No need to go out in the rain or snow if staying here, but wouldn't come here if I were not at the hotel. read more

Still only offering the very limited "Covid" menu. The service was terrible, waited 12 minutes just for someone to acknowledge me. They are terribly understaffed (only two wait staff and no hostess). When the food arrived, it was just OK. The salmon was overcooked, but the steamed veggies and couscous gave some much needed flavor. For a casual airport hotel restaurant and bar, Benchmark is pretty good The environment is clean and modern There are plenty of TV's to watch sporting events They have plenty of bar stools, long communal bar tables and plenty of table seating in the bar and the restaurant The service is quick and responsive There are plenty of beers and wines by the glass and the bar is well stocked Food wise, they are a gastropub so it is not your basic pub food but not funky gastro food I was here for a few glasses of wine and starters before I headed out to Gibsons for dinner We had the mussels in a tomato broth based blue moon beer sauce that was pretty good with toasted baguette slices to dip in the broth. I enjoyed this starter We also had the cheese plate, but it was just mediocre. The plate had blue cheese, sliced cheddar and a white cheese. None of the cheeses were memorable. It was also served with raisin toasts which were good. It could have been more thought out and executed better After dinner at Gibsons we came back for dessert to watch the end of the Cubs pre season game. The coffee was decent and the caramel apple with streusel crumbles and vanilla gelato was very good. If you are going to charge $24.00 for a delicious chicken breast in a fantastic white bean kale shiitake ragout then please make sure to train your friendly wait staff with the preparation of the items on the menu. It's not enough to say it's good. The dining room is a bit cold and breezy. The chef Pedro is wonderful. Another member of the wait staff came to bus the table. He basically picked up utensils and slammed them into the plates to carry. This place has delicious very well prepared lunch and dinner items. The weakness here is training the staff to work at an elegant restaurant. Have emergency readers (glasses) at the front for forgetful customers. The food is 5 stars. Very nicely put together menu. I was at the Westin for a conference, so it was the only option for lunch if I didn't leave the building. I had the tuna poke and loved it. Farro, tuna, avocado, cucumber, and a little Siracusa mayo. Service was SLOW and they weren't packed when I was there. Table next to me also noted this, as one person had (and almost finished) their burger before the other got their entree. Another big minus is the bathroom situation. You have to leave the restaurant through a side door and go to the ones in the hall and then that same door is locked from the outside so you have to walk back through the lobby and entrance to get back! read more

Outstanding restaurant, especially for a hotel location near O'Hare. Easily the best food I've had in the nearby area. The bar seems to be well populated every night and has quite a bit of seating space plus the restaurant area seems fairly large and nice with an open kitchen. Drinks are well done and the wine list is decent, and food is truly excellent across just about everything. Even a dish called Airline Chicken which is about as underwhelming as you can get was awesome with a perfectly browned and cooked chicken breast along with vegetables and an outstanding broth. I stayed at the Westin for a recent business trip and had breakfast two days in a row. Day one I had smoked salmon eggs Benedict, which was phenomenal. The bene had multigrain flatbread, a generous portion of smoked salmon and spinach and was topped with hollandaise sauce. It came with a side salad that was pretty plain and could have used more acid to counter the richness of the salmon Benedict. On day two, I opted for an egg white omelet with veggies, ham and cheddar cheese. I also requested whole grain bread. The omelet was fine, nothing spectacular. Service here is slow. On day one, I had to flag someone down to take my order. I think they're used to people ordering their buffet. On day two, I requested multigrain toast and the server never brought it. Okay, wow. Hotel restaurant or not, this place is impressive. I usually lower my standards a couple notches when dining at a hotel, but Benchmark blew me away. Unfortunately, I work nearby and don't own a car so my food options are extremely limited. I decided to give Benchmark a shot after vowing never to eat at the restaurant at the Marriott ever again. In an attempt to be healthy, I ordered the chicken entrée, which came with kale and white beans, and it was incredible. I would maybe even say it was the best chicken entrée I've ever had, but I usually make it a point not to order chicken at restaurants. The service here is standard, and the atmosphere is nice. We were here for two dinners, Saturday and Sunday evening. (I'll review both evenings in this post.) Crabcakes with shishito peppers = okay. Crabcakes lacked seasoning, and it did not come with any sauce. (I dumped on some black pepper.) Shishito peppers were ruined from overcooking. The peppers tasted almost burnt, and instead of a nice light green, they were brownish. I was very disappointed. Mac & cheese = epic creaminess, flavors and piping hot in a pan. We wanted more of this! She had the NY strip steak, in bone with roasted brussel sprouts and potatoes. (Steak was perfect, juicy, tender and flavorful; brussel sprouts were soggy on the surface and undercooked inside.) $39. I had the chef's special (1 of 2 for the evening): seared ahi over rice, and seaweed salad on top. The wasabi sauce was light and creamy but the ginger/sesame sauce was excellent and addicting. $16 Creme brulee = creamy egg custard with a nice crunchy caramelized sugar on top. (It was served in a large square bowl instead of a ramekin. Could be shared.) Service was good. We were seated in the dining room. Prices are moderate. --------------------------------------- Second night, service was deplorable. We were seated in the bar area. First, they said the soup of the day was Manhattan clam chowder (which was something I wanted to try). When I asked if it was creamy or not, he said yes. We saw the New England clam chowder come out on the table next to us. Sorry but misrepresenting menu items not Written on your menu is bad for business. Then, they screwed up her order (and they argued with her about it!) She ordered the cheddar bacon burger, and he ordered her the pub burger (different burger). FYI, not paying attention to what is ordered is not acceptable nor a plausible excuse. The server argued with her that it was the same burger. The manager had to come over to diffuse the situation. The same dish (mac & cheese) that we'd had for dinner previously (and loved) was slightly different, lukewarm, lacking creamy sauce (very clumpy) and little flavor. Honestly, I don't know what happened there. We were not pleased as it was something we had returned for, and it was another disappointment. Caesar salad was delicious! (Crostini was stale.) Manager gave us 50% off the meal which was appreciated, but having a great meal on our last night here was much preferred. The menu has a good range with different flavors so there something's for everyone. Bar area = full bar with 12 beers on tap. Plenty of TVs with Chicago games. Really pleasant surprise that this little joint is connected to the Westin O'Hare. I went 2 nights in a row. The service was no frills but nice enough. The food choices are crafted well. The Tuna tar tar is to die for and the non breaded crab cakes were very good as well. I enjoyed the tofu twice in a row because it was so delicious. I cannot speak to any other dishes but my colleague nearly ate the bones to the duck so I assume it was nice. read more

Went here for my 21st birthday. Great place for brunch! The music they play is very modern. My friend was vegetarian so even though we got the all you can eat the manager accommodated and brought a couple of custom appetizers which I thought was so generous. The CRABCAKES are delicious! But you will pay about $14 which is not accurate as their website shows $10. Very friendly atmosphere. I order To go so I can eat in my room! The 2 cakes were in my order and I already started eating before pics... Oops lol but they are very meaty and about the size of a silver dollar but very thick! They sit on top of mexicorn worth a side of peppers .. Super good but I needed a sauce so manager gave me a sauce I don't know what it's called but it's something that they use for burgers. Mmmmm! I've stayed at the Westin a few times, and have been to Benchmark multiple times Pros: -It is in a good spot. Right in front of the hotel somewhat in the middle. -Well kept and classier atmosphere. You can spread out a decent sized group easy here -Food is decent enough. Its not Gordon Ramsey, but its not steak & Shake Cons: -Tad pricey for what you get, but it is a hotel bar Bottom line: No serious issues with this place, and would come back during the next conference. read more
