I'm impressed. We typically don't enjoy the "hotel" food. These chefs are plating beautiful and well thought out meals. They even have daily deals. Which included a braised lamb. It looked beautiful. But we didn't order it, so I didn't feel right about running over to someone else's table to get a pic. You'll have to trust me. Our waitress was hustling and we still never waited or wanted. Shout out to Olga. She was great. Say hi. I had the salmon quinoa bowl and hubs had the Amish chicken. Both exceeded expectations and were healthy guilt free options. Everything was completely fresh and perfectly done. For dessert we had the caramello. Caramellos wish they were that good. The head chef even came out to talk to customers. If the locals aren't eating here, they are missing out. The chef is in the process of changing the menu. They are opened until 1 am.

Let me first start by saying what an amazing experience from kitchen staff to servers. I had a 5star experience from the minute I sat down. To the sec my meal hit the table! Have never had such an amazing lobster bisque soup full of spice, left me wanting more. I also had the beef burger that just made your mouth melt! Chef Ramzi was also nice enough to make a Beef TarTar at my request and the picture doesn't do it justice bc of the blurry but what an amazing dish. Clean and comfortable place to enjoy what I would say to enjoy a date or even just to relax & have great food. Definitely felt thank to cook Cortez,he was nice enough to walk the food to my table himself!

One of the few places open. Great ambiance. Fast service. It was bustling with people late at night. There specialty are their drinks. The food was delicious. I docked a star because we told them we did not want any bacon on our burger and they put bacon on it. He had to wait for another burger to be remade.

For hotel food, it was really decent. What is that mean? For hotel food standard, the pricing was right for the quality and the amount of food you get. Unfortunately, it was closed due to covid for lunch time but when I popped my head In the restaurant to order take out I got in trouble for coming in. They should have locked the door then or put a sign at the door. So I don't care for the manager and the wait staff who were not so friendly about it. I ended up ordering at the front desk. It is 18 dollars for that huge chicken. It was tender and nice light gravy sauce. I would not mind eating here if I was staying here again.

Hotel Restaurant and bar You want a hotel to have food. Especially when it's a few blocks to anything else. Been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner and as a late night place to sit and talk. TV's are big, but sound is tolerable. Crowds come and go in waves. Service is terrific when slow, and slow when busy. Food came in 5 minutes. Check took over 30 (a sales group had come in). Burgers were above average with bacon and a pickle on'em. Crab cakes had lots of crab, but no flavor. Corn that surrounded the crab patty thing had no flavor either. And they didn't know anything about old bay. Breakfast was ok with a big bowl of fruit and yoghurt. Coffee came out in a carafe which was nice. No need to go out in the rain or snow if staying here, but wouldn't come here if I were not at the hotel.

    Menu

Still only offering the very limited "Covid" menu. The service was terrible, waited 12 minutes just for someone to acknowledge me. They are terribly understaffed (only two wait staff and no hostess). When the food arrived, it was just OK. The salmon was overcooked, but the steamed veggies and couscous gave some much needed flavor. As for the ambiance, the bench seat across from me was torn and my napkin looked like it was years past it's useful life.

For a casual airport hotel restaurant and bar, Benchmark is pretty good The environment is clean and modern There are plenty of TV's to watch sporting events They have plenty of bar stools, long communal bar tables and plenty of table seating in the bar and the restaurant The service is quick and responsive There are plenty of beers and wines by the glass and the bar is well stocked Food wise, they are a gastropub so it is not your basic pub food but not funky gastro food I was here for a few glasses of wine and starters before I headed out to Gibsons for dinner We had the mussels in a tomato broth based blue moon beer sauce that was pretty good with toasted baguette slices to dip in the broth. I enjoyed this starter We also had the cheese plate, but it was just mediocre. The plate had blue cheese, sliced cheddar and a white cheese. None of the cheeses were memorable. It was also served with raisin toasts which were good. It could have been more thought out and executed better After dinner at Gibsons we came back for dessert to watch the end of the Cubs pre season game. The coffee was decent and the caramel apple with streusel crumbles and vanilla gelato was very good. I would have enjoyed more gelato but my weight is better for that All in all, not to bad

    Crabcakes for $15. Very tasty!

The bar area is very nice and they have a very good selection of craft beers. Their bar menu is also very good and I had a hard time deciding what to order. I ended up getting the crabcakes which were very good but I definitely need to come back to try other food options.

While staying at the Westin hotel in chicago, I had dinner at this restaurant. I had the roasted chicken breast and a side salad. The chicken was very tender, over mixed vegetables. The salad was ok. I also ordered the Greek yogurt cheesecake. The chef came to the table and made sure I was happy. Not enough choices on the menu, but it was a good experience.

Got the salmon salad to go. Disappointed to see this poultry skin in my salad. Makes me wonder how they handle their meat products.
    Lorenz K.

Ordered the salmon salad to go to eat in my room. I was disappointed to see that there was either chicken or duck skin in my salad. Makes me wonder how this restaurant handle their meat products.

The staff and ambiance were lovely; for my main course I tried the steak sandwich which was really good. It came with fries, and instead of ordering an appetizer I ate the house chips (which are brought to the table for free.) My daughter went with the burger, and that was excellent. Huge portion and cooked to perfection. No one else at the table good anything special, which meant the bill was reasonable (about $40 a person.) For a good 40 minutes in the bar, it was an absolute sausage fest. The only other females were those working, so it was a little uncomfortable. This is a manly place in general. A loud obnoxious table of meatheads was behind us at dinner but the steak was truly the best I've ever had so one must endure. I had the filet with peppercorn and our shared sides and apps sampled were crab cakes, mashed potatoes, double baked potatoes, and brussel sprouts. All stellar. We all split the famous macadamia nut turtle pie which easily served 8 people. Amazing meal but would be nice to throw a little estrogen in with the testosterone overload. Service was unparalleled as well. Thank you for a memorable evening.

For those who don't know, Small Cheval is the fast casual version of Au Cheval which I've had the opportunity to try in NYC. There's plenty of locations throughout Chicago so definitely make it a stop when you're in town. Now is it as good as Au Cheval? Definitely not but at one-third of the price point, it's hard to complain. The beef patties are well-seasoned with crispy edges and just the right amount of fattiness. My main complaint is that there wasn't nearly enough dijonnaise sauce or pickles, making this pretty dry. The bun was nicely buttered and toasted but almost took away from the contents inside the burger. The Famous Fried Chicken Tenders were also a good try. I could tell the chicken was clean & high quality but there was some flavor I couldn't quite place which made it a bit off-putting; thankfully it wasn't super noticeable especially with the sauces. The Golden Fries were delicious and paired well with the burger & tenders! Even the Cookies & Cream Milkshake was solid! Classic milkshake with a good balance of creaminess, sweetness, and texture from the cookie bits. The interior was also bright, spacious, and comfortable! All in all, really solid try!

It's like going to a burger place with a bar inside. I would also have to add with a side of a malt shop thrown in. The lady who took our order was very friendly. Both her and the guy making the shakes seemed competent and efficient. They were both just over worked. There was a rush when we came in so it put them behind. Everything was in good repair. There was no damage to the seats and tables and for the most part they were clean. The things that didn't work for me were the possible understaffing, and the lack of a good onion. I asked for raw onion on my burger. I inspected my burger for it and couldn't find it. So I asked for some more. She was very helpful and handed me a tiny container of minced onions. Apparently that's all they have. I do like a good slice of onion on my burger. If you're looking for a good quick bite to eat or a very tasty shake, this is a great choice! I would come back if the mood struck.
