Absolutely great food and service. Generous portions and delicious food. Would definitely recommend

Croissants on display. NEED to get next time to see if they're as tasty as they look - Several croissants, some with chocolate and others with pistachio toppings, are arranged on a black slate tray on a white marble countertop.

Decided to grab a bite after dropping my partner off at O'Hare and what a pleasant surprise Ellys was! The order mentioned it wasn't going to be done for 45 min, but I was at least 30 min early. I let the person inside know I was outside waiting with my dog, and was able to get my to go order super fast. The restaurant feels huge and has a family style slightly elevated diner feel. Loved the open kitchen area of the coffee bar. The pastries were on display and really made me wonder if I should've grabbed a croissant! I got the Latina skillet which came with two pancakes and biscuits and gravy, so it felt like a lot of bang for my buck. $25 for it all with tip and I ate it over the course of three meals. As mentioned, I got this to go. I live 40 min from this restaurant. I had a bite of the b&g in traffic and was kind of disappointed the biscuits were not warmed up at all, making them taste stale. When I heated them up later, they were much more tasty. The skillet!!!! I had a bite initially and was sad because it lacked flavor. I spiced it up only to realize there was a smoky hot sauce and a crema in with the pancake fixins. Heated it up in a skillet again. After that it was INCREDIBLE. And I loved it was meatless! Highly recommend this dish. The pancakes were surprisingly delicious, as I am more of a French toast/waffles kind of person. The edges were super crispy! It came with two things of whipped butter, two things of a blueberry compote and another raspberry type of sauce, all of which were a surprise since this was my first time. Those with the syrup.... Best pancake I've had in a long while. Ellys is definitely worth trying

My husband I and went here for brunch on Black Friday. We were able to be sat right away. They do not have a separate GF menu but many things on the menu could be made GF. I had a cheese omelette with hash browns and GF toast. My husband ordered GF pancakes as his side so I could try them too. Food and service were excellent!

Overpriced Breakfast for the quality of the food - A detailed restaurant receipt from Elly's Pancake House in Norridge, IL, showing ordered breakfast dishes, prices, subtotal, tax, and total amount.

I was looking to try someplace new for breakfast and decided to give Elly's Brunch Cafe a shot. Unfortunately, while the service was genuinely good, the quality of the food versus the price was extremely disappointing. I ordered the Skirt Steak & Eggs, which was listed as Market Price. Normally I ask before ordering, but I've honestly never seen skirt steak and eggs priced this way at a breakfast spot, so I didn't think twice. That was a mistake. I ordered the steak medium, but it came out well done (overcooked), very salty, and shockingly small..., about 4 inches long, literally ¼ the size of what I've been served at countless other places. The real shock came when the bill arrived and I saw the price: $30.00. That is completely unjustifiable for the portion size and quality that was served. It didn't stop there. We also ordered the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, which was full of gristle and basically uneatable. On top of that, the scrambled eggs had a strange plastic taste, which was extremely off-putting. Bottom line..., this place is grossly overpriced for the quality of food being served. Good service can't make up for poorly prepared, low-quality meals at premium prices. Unfortunately, this is a one-and-done for us.

I tried this place twice. It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking spaces. The restaurant is well decor with modern contemporary style. Very wide and inviting. The food price was medium. The portion was plenty. The taste was ok. But nothing spectacular. The service was a downer. I felt like we owe the waiter during our second visit. It was not busy. And we weren't greeted. No smile. Yes, he did his job and that was it. No appreciation after paying for the food. I don't think I would come back again. Overall, it could have been a 4 star, but it gets a 3.3 out of 5.

This place was amazing the food was so tasty and fresh. When you visit you must must get the fresh squeezed OJ! It was a wonderful place very clean and need and such a chill atmosphere. Service was amazing so good I had to take a pic with him so we wouldn't forget him. This is a definite must go great food great place great people

My friends and I came by on a Monday right before Christmas eve. It was busy but we were seated within 2 minutes. Our waiter took our order within 5 mins of sitting. Our food took a bit longer to come out but I think that was due to the holidays. Our waiter didn't really refill our waters though. Food was good. I got pancakes and they were tasty and fluff. My friends said that the waffles were not great tho but the chicken was delicious.

Freddo cappuccino - Two tall glasses contain whipped coffee topped with cinnamon, with straws inserted. The drinks are placed on a table at a cafe, with a menu visible in the background.

The sandwich was amazing. The cappuccino had a strong coffee flavor with a milky cream flavor!!!

Walked in with no reservation. It didn't seem that busy. We got seated right away. Drinks- Water, good kind. Iced chai latte with caramel- really good I recommend. Food- French toast with side of bacon 10/10 no complaints, Banana french toast with side of extra crispy hash brown. 6/10 The french toast was okay I've had better but with the syrup and bananas it helped it out a bit. Seemed just not flavorful and a bit dry without it. The hash brown tasted like the greasy stovetop they were making it on. It made me lose my appetite Server was super nice and had a lovely enthusiastic attitude. Probably will come back for something else

After confirming it was, she offered us the option of sitting indoors or out on the heated, covered patio. We chose the patio, which was comfortable and inviting. The menus arrived quickly--breakfast, lunch, daily specials, and a full coffee drink menu. Water was served right away, and we were asked for our beverage order. We decided on breakfast and chose the Denver omelet and the Mexicana omelet. Each entrée comes with your choice of fruit or hash browns, plus toast or pancakes. Our food arrived surprisingly fast. The hash browns were a bit overdone but still enjoyable. Our server was attentive throughout the meal, and my iced tea was refilled twice without needing to ask. The restaurant was spotless and had a steady flow of customers for a Tuesday mid‑morning, which says a lot about its popularity. As we were leaving, the hostess checked in to make sure everything was good--which it was. We definitely plan to return, especially to try their lunch menu next time.
