Brunch City Cafe is a cute suburban spot in Des Plaines. We ordered the Vegan Burger, Buttermilk Pancakes, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Chilaquiles, and the Garden Skillet (without eggs). My favorites were definitely the Chilaquiles and Garden Skillet highly recommend getting the skillet with shredded hashbrowns. The signature hot sauces were also a highlight, especially the red one which was spicy but had great flavor. Overall, the food and vibes were good, but nothing I'd rave about. Worth a try if you're in the area!

Wonderful brunch spot! All their dishes came out beautifully plated and quite eye appealing. The dishes are more than well portioned as we had plenty to take home at the end. Ambiance wise it was a brightly decorated dining area with attraction of the room being the orange juicing machine behind the counter that had the kids at the next table mesmerized. We happen to be there on a weekday morning when it was relatively quiet but the staff was wonderful and friendly. I noticed in the front of the restaurant is this enclosed but floor ceiling windows around a patio that would be fantastic for those that want to enjoy the outdoor weather while having their brunch.

So I walked in I was greeted right away. Given coffee and water. Ordered right away So wait staff was good but note that the place only had 3 tables to wait on not including mine . It took 20 plus minutes to get my Barbacoa Benedict. Upon reviewing The meat was dry. Luke warm. It has a spicy flavor. But also a after taste I didn't like. So the 27 plus dollars I paid for it wasn't worth it. So im not trashing this place on one plate but probably never go again. The atmosphere and service was good though.

Overall, fantastic breakfast. We showed up around 11:00 AM on Sunday for late breakfast/brunch. Friend and I found them through our AI search for top 3 breakfast spots near O'Hare but not at the airport before we headed home. Only waitdd 10 mins for a table. Parking was pretty good but busy. Best breakfast we had on iur 4 day trip in Chicago and East Troy, WI. Server, Kat, was kind and courteous. They brought out the food quick and even after bringing out the wrong order to me, it was only two mins tull the correct order was brought. I also told our server we wanted lots of water. She brought 4 glasses! Fantastic and she refilled me before the last glass was empty. 5 stars Ambiance was casual but clean. Modern diner type of experience. It was loud but not too loud. 4 stars. Food: Ordered Steak and eggs skillet sunny side up w/steak medium and added avocado; south if the border skillet with eggs over medium (came out over easy, but still very good). Bith came with some very good sourdough toast with a jelly/capote that seemed home made. Lastly ordered the Banana bread french toast. Steak and eggs was 5 stars. Steak was cooked medium as requested. South if the border was really good, despite slightly undercooked eggs and it being a tiny bit soicy for my preference (you never know with fresh jalapeños). 4.5 stars. The sourdough was great. 5 Stars. The banana bread french toast was fantastic. 5 stars. I will be back the next time I am at O'Hare. Really well done.

Came here on Tuesday morning before our flight from Ohare and i have to say this was the best brunch I've had from my trip to Chicago! The service was great, our server was so kind & friendly. He made sure we had everything we need and always attentive. The place itself is big and clean. The decor is really nice and calming. Not super loud. We ordered the barbacoa benedict, banana bread french toast, caramel latte & orange juice. The benedict was so delicious & the potatoes it came with were perfectly crispy. The banana french toast is something i've never had before elsewhere, and it was the perfect sweet treat. The latte was okay but the orange juice definitely was freshly squeezed! Would definitely come back when I'm around Ohare or in Chicago!

I stopped by this spot on a Saturday morning to meet a friend, and it couldn't be more convenient super close to home with plenty of parking right out front. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, which was absolutely delicious, while my friend chose the Florentine Benedict and had no complaints. Service was a bit slow at first, but once we placed our coffee and food orders, everything went smoothly. Overall, it's a charming brunch café, and I'll definitely be back. Keep it up!

Friend and I went for breakfast and the space is well lit and looked clean. The restaurant is decorated nice. They have a beautiful outdoor patio. The restaurant is spacious for groups. We were sat immediately. Ordered our food and received it fairly quickly. Customer service was exceptional. My friend order the eggs any style. It comes with a meat, potatoes, toast or pancakes. She opted out of the pancakes/toast because we shared the banana French toast. She also ordered the oatmeal. She stated it was cold and inedible. She had no complaints about the rest of her meal. The banana bread was made well but I wouldn't call it French toast. I would've appreciated more of the drizzle on it. I had the beef brisket tacos, which is supposed to be one of their specialties. The brisket was tender but it lacked flavor. It's as if they were depending on the homemade salsa to give it flavor without seasoning the meat. I had to add salt, pepper, and hot sauce that was on the table to give it enough flavor for me to consume it. If I'm ever in the area again perhaps I will try something different. This place definitely has potential.

First time here. The place is huge and nice. We were seated right away. I ordered the steak and eggs skillet. I ordered the steak medium well so it's kinda tough but well seasoned. So probably medium is better. The pancake that comes with it taste good. I just wish they could upgrade them to another kind of pancake even for extra $. I also have to mention too that the waitress gave me the special instead of the skillet that I ordered and she charged me for the special too. She offered to change it but I dont want to waste food. Maybe she's new. I will give this resto another chance and will try other food in the menu next time.

Adorable place, friendly staff, good food. Great mimosas, I had the lavender it was delicious. Although I asked for welll done steak, one part was still pink/red but it was really good and flavorfull, I actually didn't mind. I ate part of it. The bacon and potatoes were good. My friend loved her french toast and hot chocolate, it was really adorable. Very festive.

Beautiful restaurant for brunch. Lots of great menu options, but our stand out for today were the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Light and fluffy! Will return to try more!

    Nashville Heat Benedict

The service as Brunch City was excellent! Although the food was subpar at best. I got a Nashville Heat Benedict that's flavor reminded me more of a chicken enchilada plate. While the familiarity of the flavor was somewhat comforting it was not at all what I expected when I made the order. As for the "heat" portion of the meal I'd say it's extremely mild, but I've also completed the Hot Ones challenge. Along with my meal I ordered two mimosa that were very delicious. This place seems like more of a bar that happens to have food than the other way around. Very clean and "instagram-able" ambiance in my opinion, but I'll let the content creators be the final decision makers on that.

We were so happy to happen upon this great place! Everything was great from the customer service to the ambiance and of course the food! Our server Kat was absolutely five star! She was attentive, patient and accommodating. I am a pancake snob and baaaaaabyyyy they are now on my good pancake list! Serving Lavazza coffee is always a winner. The omelet was fluffy and delicious. My husband's skillet was a bit too salty for his palette and Kat swapped his entree without a problem. We will definitely return and will spread the word! Thank you Brunch City!!!

None of the lunch options appealed to me as they were mostly burgers and sandwiches so I chose to go with a breakfast skillet. I ordered the bacon skillet which came with mushrooms, onions, potatoes and an egg, and was surprised to find brocolli all over my skillet. I don't remember reading in the menu details that broccoli was an ingredient but I still went with it. No point in wasting food. The skillet did no have any bacon in it that I can taste but maybe because the brocolli was overpowering the taste of the bacon. There was a lot of broccoli in that skillet and I must admit that I guess I should have said something before I dove right in. My younger daughter seemed to enjoy her spaghetti though and the portion was large enough that we were able to take half of it home. Older daughter finished her grilled cheese and didn't really hear of any complaints. Hubbys meal, not picture here, was the quesadilla platter. He said it was pretty bland but I could neither deny nor confirm as I did not have a bite of it. Our server was pretty attentive but a little bit of a language barrier there which is probably what caused broccoli to be in my skillet. The whole restaurant is small but there are enough tables and booths available on a Saturday afternoon to seat the locals that come in.

The diner has a classic, retro feel with a checkerboard aesthetic that gives it a traditional diner vibe. It is not very modern or trendy, but it is clean and well-kept, which is really what matters. The space feels simple and comfortable, making it a place someone can visit regularly for a quick, reliable meal. The menu is very straightforward and features typical diner staples. The food was pretty good, but the dishes were very basic with nothing particularly unique about them. It felt like the kind of food you might make at home, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it wasn't especially memorable either. I ordered an egg sandwich with cheese and sausage ($9.95). I also ordered bacon on the side (3 for $4.25). The egg sandwich was okay, but the bagel tasted like those cheap bagels you would get at a hotel during their complimentary breakfast that come from a bag. The sandwich didn't have anything on it other than exactly what they called it on the menu: a bagel, sausage links cut in half, an egg, and cheese. Nothing on the sandwich was seasoned or flavorful. My husband enjoyed his food much more than I did, and he ordered the Big Texas Breakfast ($12.95). This came with country-fried steak with sausage gravy on top, 2 eggs your way, and hash brown potatoes. He also ordered sausage links on the side (3 for $4.25). The service was friendly, and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time, which worked well for us since we were on a bit of a tight schedule. Overall, Lola's Diner delivered a simple diner experience with homemade-style food. I would come here again, but it wouldn't be my first choice for breakfast.
