Cute diner with good food and service! This isn't modern but if you're looking for basic breakfast it's a good place! We got the omelette, French toast and blintz and on a cold, rainy day this hit the spot!

This place never disappoints! This place is a cute diner, food is great when you are craving for comfort food. They always hit the spot!

Great spot - good food - some specials not avails in weekends - and I was told that they charge a sir charge if you use a credit card. Coffee is good - hash browns are good - overall great spot

Breakfast special. 2 eggs, hash browns, choice of toast or pancakes.

Quick breakfast spot that has an old school neighborhood vibe. Very prompt service and the food was out in no time. Price was good and the food was delish and as expected. I'm a fan.

Very good diner fare with very good service! My experience is definitely colored by the Pokemon card vending machine in the front served me a shiny rare card, but I did enjoy my wrap and all of my compatriots liked the breakfast and lunch options. Choosing some lighter fare, my tuna salad wrap was very tasty and really hit the spot. Love the kettle chips and I started with a side salad. The salad was not remarkable, but always great getting some greens. The hash brown nests are the real draw here. My companion had a sausage with eggs breakfast all wrapped up in crispy griddle hash browns - I mean, what about that doesnt sound amazing? The coffee kept flowing and they offered to go cups for us! Classic diner vibes and a good solid stop on your way through.

Fried egg no cheese. If you know you know. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese. I won't be eating this. Disappointing.

I have been a customer of Lola's Diner for more than a decade and I have to say the last few times I have come to eat in or ordered out the service and food has been sub-par at best. Today I order my mom and I breakfast to go and I ordered ahead so not to wait too long. I waited 20 minutes for my to go order and when I got home the order was wrong. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich with scrambled eggs, and I got fried eggs and no cheese that I paid extra for. I called to alert them of the issue and all I got was so sorry I let the owner know. Disappointed and Lola's needs to do better. Don't mean to be a baby about it but I hate fried eggs and I expect to get what I pay for and should be able to eat it as well. I'm hungry.

The bun was the first signal they knew what they were doing--lightly toasted, just enough structure to hold everything together without stealing attention. Then came the patty: thick, juicy, with that perfect sear that gives you a bit of crisp before it melts into richness. But the real centerpiece? The fried egg. Perfectly cooked--edges slightly crisp, yolk still runny. The moment you bite in, it breaks and seeps into the meat, turning each bite into something borderline indulgent. It doesn't overpower the burger; it elevates it, adding a creamy texture that balances the salt and char of the beef. The toppings were minimal but intentional--fresh lettuce for crunch, a slice of tomato for brightness, and just enough sauce to tie it all together without making a mess. It's the kind of burger that makes you slow down halfway through, not because you're full, but because you realize it deserves your full attention. Messy in the best way, rich without being overwhelming, and anchored by that fried egg that takes it from good to unforgettable.

Established (as the wall told me) in 1936, I expected "Polish" to be in menu alone...and I was wrong. The gal behind the bar had an accent. Halfway through the Bears game, I started hearing folks concerning and cheering in Polish. I felt like I had slipped into a cool little club to which I would never have otherwise been invited. Loud (but not too loud) and boisterous. I read some other reviews talking about rude regulars: rubbish. Chicago is loud and direct. If you don't like that vibe, the shoulders in this city may just be a little too broad for you. The pierogi and the pyzy were great, both served with sour cream. The beers, while not draft, had a wide, Euro-leaning selection but still respected some local favorites (Old Style). Good food. Good folks. Confusingly brilliant ambiance. You're missing out if you skip The Log Cabin.

None of the lunch options appealed to me as they were mostly burgers and sandwiches so I chose to go with a breakfast skillet. I ordered the bacon skillet which came with mushrooms, onions, potatoes and an egg, and was surprised to find brocolli all over my skillet. I don't remember reading in the menu details that broccoli was an ingredient but I still went with it. No point in wasting food. The skillet did no have any bacon in it that I can taste but maybe because the brocolli was overpowering the taste of the bacon. There was a lot of broccoli in that skillet and I must admit that I guess I should have said something before I dove right in. My younger daughter seemed to enjoy her spaghetti though and the portion was large enough that we were able to take half of it home. Older daughter finished her grilled cheese and didn't really hear of any complaints. Hubbys meal, not picture here, was the quesadilla platter. He said it was pretty bland but I could neither deny nor confirm as I did not have a bite of it. Our server was pretty attentive but a little bit of a language barrier there which is probably what caused broccoli to be in my skillet. The whole restaurant is small but there are enough tables and booths available on a Saturday afternoon to seat the locals that come in.
