    French onion Soup
    Briana L.

First time at The Blossom Cafe & what a delightful experience! Fantastic place for large family gatherings. Love that they had Easter specials and everyone could order à la carte, even including from the regular menu. The freshly baked warm bread delivered to the table had super spreadable butter. Every entrée came with a soup or salad, I agree with the recommendation to upgrade to French onion soup. The leg of lamb special was super tender. They definitely know how to do their sides well, from the fresh made mashed potatoes, to the chunky, steamed vegetables. I had enough for a full meal in leftovers afterwards! Despite being busy during the holidays, service was very attentive, and we felt very well taken care of.

Bustling restaurant! Busy parking lot in a large strip mall, but I found a spot and headed inside. Almost all tables and booths were occupied at 1 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. My party was seated, menus and water provided promptly. There's an extensive menu, with numerous tempting selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I opted for the California omelet, a delight of veggies including tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and avocado; topped with tasty cheese. Delicious! My companion had chicken piccata which came with bread and soup. Everything looked great and was reported as good. Portions were huge! Coffee was good, refilled as needed. All told, this was a good dining experience!

Came here Sunday around noon and waited about 30 minutes. The place was packed. Had the Athenian omelete which was huge and a bit heavy. Overall, a standard diner and you know what you're getting.

    Moldy butter

We ordered takeout and were disappointed with the experience. The butter that came with the order appeared to have mold on it, and no utensils were included. This raised concerns about food quality and attention to detail. I hope management looks into this issue. I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 only because the staff was polite. Every time I visited before, I felt comfortable there. Unfortunately, that is not enough for me to come back again.

Huge parking lot ... nice outside patio dining. The restaurant has an American style menu ... the basics ... meat & potatoes. The food is well prepared and the service is quick and efficient. It is a place that me and my friends patronize from time to time when I visit the Chicagoland area. When in the neighborhood, do drop in and enjoy a pleasant dinning experience.

Service is always Rockstar! My sidekick ordered breakfast and I did lunch items. My sandwich was good...but I think Bennigan's did the Monti Cristo the best. French Onion is the good old classic and was delicious! Ambiance is busy, hot breakfast/lunch spot in the area.

This place was awesome. I've been here for banquets where dishes have been preselected for me, but I got invited to the restaurant section for the first time. Amazing food, very clean and pleasant ambiance, and very friendly and attentive service from our waiter Patrick. I had a Sunday special- half slab of BBQ ribs and country fried chicken. Most restaurants have cut back on portions, but with all it came with I was not able to finish. Great business. Only thing I could add is that I wish they had a vinigarette based dressing.

This was our first time here (visiting). Eric was our server and he gave Great customer service, the food was Delicious and the prices were a little high, ($94 for breakfast items), but it was fine because we treated ourselves to a wonderful experience!

They asked if I wanted to meet for breakfast, and so after looking up the options close to their hotel (which was surprisingly limited), I stumbled upon Elly's. After looking at Yelp reviews, it seemed like a great option and would be easy for them to Uber to. And it was a great choice. We ordered coffee, which they promptly refilled multiple times for us, and then two of us got the crepes with either strawberries or blueberries on top, and the other got one of the omlettes. The crepes were extremely good. Portions are great and prices are reasonable given the amount of food. The staff was friendly at 6:45 in the morning (they were way more awake than I was) No photos of the food because it was my first time meeting one of my colleagues IRL (and only the second time meeting the other) and I didn't want to be weird haha. But trust me that the food looked great. I took my leftovers home to my parents' house (because I was visiting them afterward). I let my dad have them because I knew they wouldn't survive the extra 90 minutes back to my house when I was done with my visit. He told me later he put vanilla ice cream on them and they were delicious, so they held up well in the 45 minutes it took me to get from Elly's to their house, and being reheated later in the day. I'd definitely go back anytime coworkers are at a conference and want to meet up (which is surprisingly often. Perks of living near a hub!)

I don't remember it being this bad but... now I know, I guess. Food was not great. The pancakes were kind of--well, gummy is the word that springs to mind. Not pleasant to eat, at any rate. The omelet I ordered, the Southwestern Omelet I think, was ok. It was a bit thin, but maybe that's just because there were a lot of ingredients in it. The "Homemade" lemonade tasted like it was fountain lemonade. I left half of it, and the half that was consumed was mostly because my child wanted some. That was especially disappointing, because I don't order lemonade at restaurants unless it's not Minute Maid because that stuff is awful--and if Elly's truly has homemade lemonade, they should be embarrassed that it tastes identical to what Coke sells. I don't usually eat everything when I go out for breakfast and am happy to take half home for another breakfast, but I didn't want to take any of this home with me. I will say that they're fast--we were here less than an hour. I think it took fewer than 15 minutes from the time we were seated to when we got our meal, and we didn't order immediately upon being seated. We went on Saturday round 9:45 a.m. and it was half empty, though it was Easter weekend so I'm not sure if that had any impact.

The dining areas (inside & out) were teaming with tables filled with patrons teaming with conversation and pleased palates (apparent from the smiles during & after their meals). My son and I ordered the veggie skillet +ham w/ toast and the skirt stake skillet w/ cakes, respectively. We loved the chunky potatoes that seemed roasted prior to their union with the eggs and other toppings. The pancakes were light and fluffy (if that makes sense). We were truly pleased with our meals but the star of the show was the service we received. From the moment we walked in we greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress (Katlyn or Kaylyn - apologies in advance for the misspell) was a rockstar. She handle her busy section effortlessly, was very engaging, helpful and polite. A few minutes later, some other waitress brings the eggs to the table on a plate with the doily to eat at the table.
