Was needing a pick me up from sitting in Chicago traffic and was asked to stop by Melt N Dip, a local gelato shop. Melt N Dip is a hidden gem with wonderful gelato to fit any pallet including vegans. Prices were reasonable as well as fresh products. Had several samples before going with pistachio and chocolate gelato and didn't regret it. My favorite thing about this place is that they have fresh fruit juices that you can order it's fresh pressed juices and my favorite is the Apple sometimes I do mix the apple and the orange. So I've had this place on my radar for quite some time but never actually stopped in. Finally it was the viral Dubai Strawberry cup that finally brought me into this dessert haven. They have glorious fountains of melted Belgian chocolate. The Dubai cup comes with layers of melted milk chocolate, pistachio butter, knafeh, and strawberries. I'm not sure how but each of the strawberries were perfectly ripe. It was absolutely delicious. It doesn't look like a lot at first but the cup itself was very heavy, it's probably at least a good pound of dessert you're getting. It's rich, but the strawberries add a little tartness that cuts through the sweet. And I think it's big enough to share with at least one other person. Myself I had to save half for the next day, the chocolate hardened in the fridge and the strawberries were a little softer but it was still so good and the knafeh still crispy. They have a good number of tables to sit and enjoy your desserts. They also have a number of different types of desserts including crepes and gelato. Parking is pretty decent. There's a small lot right out front that's a little difficult to get into, and sometimes it gets busy but I've never had to wait more than a minute or two to find a spot. Anyway if you're looking for some Dubai Chocolate dessert definitely visit this place! Probably one of the best versions I've tried. Even if it's a little pricey, it's worth it for the amount of deliciousness you're getting. read more

The waffle was crisp and warm, and the sauces (dark, milk, and white chocolate) were rich, velvety, and perfectly drizzled. The fruit added just the right amount of freshness to balance it all out. Oh, Melt N Dip, my love. Ever since opening up their Niles location, Melt N Dip has become an instant hangout spot. Open late and halal, Melt N Dip has a lot for everyone. Do you love chocolate? Do you love a LOT of chocolate? Are you like me and keeping your dentist well paid because of how much you love chocolate? This is the place to be. I get me a Banana Wrap, water for the table and tuck in. The desserts at Melt N Dip are exceptionally decadent in all the right ways. It can be a bit of a PVP zone trying to get a table, especially when it's too cold to using their outdoor seating, but a small 5-10 min wait should usually get you your table. The staff is quick to clean up tables and quick to bring out your choice of death by chocolate. I'm happy to spend more time here eating ungodly amounts of chocolate. read more

We ordered two large Dubai cups and it was a whopping $44.48, super pricey in my opinion. This is definitely a special treat kind of place. The desserts make for an impressive picture as well, or its "gram worthy" as the kids say (I think, I'm not "with it"). My downsides would be that it's a bit pricy (but definitely worth it) and I'd like to see some utensil upgrades. Glass water bottles but Styrofoam cups, real plates but plastic silverware, it's just disjointed. My fork actually broke off in my crepe but thankfully I found the broken piece. I was glad for the strawberries to cut the richness of all the chocolate, but overall this was delicious, and good to share. We also got shakes to go: Oreo for him, pistachio for me. Yum! I love pistachio and you don't see it in a shake all that often. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we couldn't finish them even over the course of the night, but so good. Walking in, the place has such a great vibe! It's super popular, which explains why the tables and chairs were a little messy they were really slammed! This place is a sweet tooth's dream. I got the melt n dip crepe with strawberries. Yes it is quite on the pricier side BUT the amount of strawberries that was inside this crepe truly made it worth the price. My husband doesn't like overly sweet things and he was pleasantly surprised that the chocolate wasn't that overpowering. It was just the right amount with the crepe. There was a large group in front of us that got their food served by the people that work there. Ours on the other hand got served by a robot and it was actually kind of entertaining to watch the robot try to navigate the space around people, table and chairs. There is a good amount of seating too if you want to dine in and the place is cute and more spacious than I expected. My only complaint is the fact that you can't modify like any crepe. It is what it is and they are all pretty involved so I couldn't order my basic crepe (sugar, cinnamon, butter). However the gelato was bomb our favorites were Vanilla (more like a French vanilla) and the Ferrero Roche Gelato. There were a number crepes and all of them were topped off with chocolate. We shared the YOLO crepe which really was enough for 2 unless you have a large appetite and it was very tasty. I got the Pistachio Eclair tower. The nutty flavor was what I expected and they were generous with the pistachio topping. The eclair was ball shaped and slathered with pistachio and white chocolate drizzle. My drink was a banana shake and I had nothing bad to say about it. My friend got the mint lemonade and if you liked mint, then this would probably be something for you as the drink was fresh and tart. It's kind of like a palate cleanser. The banana split was a shareable classic and the gelato scoops were generous. The Chocolate Eclair tower was decadent. It was too rich for me but if you're a chocoholic, then you would love this. This place is amazing! Second time coming, forgot to write a review for the first time. I had the apple cinnamon pouch last time and it was delicious. The restaurant itself is nice and spacious with plenty of seating and nice background music. This time, after placing our order, we grabbed a nice quiet seating in the corner at the booth. Their menu is made so well with really good photos to show what each dish looks like, which I highly appreciated. With just 3 of us, we chose the Nutella Fruit Salad (48) and the Cream and Dream (7). After a short wait, they brought it to our table. Both were made very well with excellent presentation. The flavor was exquisite and it was a very delicious dessert to have after lunch. I was curious to try Melt N Dip, as it's very close to home, and is a new concept that sounded really good, since I've loved crepes since I was a little girl. The main word I'd use to describe it is Sweet. Very, very sweet. The dessert I tried, the Banana Cinnamon Crepe Pouch, was good, but it was overwhelmed by all the chocolate sauce they pour on their crepes. I enjoy a little chocolate, but I don't want my crepe so drenched in it that it becomes too overwhelmingly sweet and goopy. Also, there was a lot of banana in one part of it, but hardly any in another. And unfortunately I randomly ate the part with plenty of banana first, then suffered a bit through the part that was just plain crepe and goopy chocolate sauce. Fortunately I'd also ordered a vanilla latte, and it was only semi-sweet, so sipping it intermittently greatly helped offset the overwhelming sweetness and overabundance of the chocolate. I also enjoyed the little shortbread cookie that came with the latte. I was very sorry to see that there were no savory crepes -- they're my favorite, and I was hoping they'd have at least one or two on the menu so I could get my protein fix before launching into the dessert. Service was quick and friendly, and I liked that she brought the food to my table instead of my having to go pick it up at the counter when it was ready. Overall, I liked it okay for dessert, although I'll probably order something different the next time that has banana where I know I'll get it in every bite, like the Banana Wrap, or maybe I'll try the Red Velvet Fettuccine, and I'll see if they can go easy on the chocolate.
