    Lemon Basil And Pink Grapefruit
    Steve A.

Got some things from this place in Jefferson Park that's cool literally. Ix-Chel has gelato and popsicles. Has plenty of room inside. Prices are okay for the quality. There's quite a lot of flavors to get among these. Came here because it was hot and we needed to get cool. It's in an unassuming area along Milwaukee Avenue in a plaza. The inside is big enough for quite a few tables. It has mostly a selection of gelato. There's also a few that are non dairy and vegan. It's about $7 for a large cup. With these you can get a few flavors. Best one was the Lemon Basil. This had a combination of herby and tangy. Also had the Pink Grapefruit. This one had a citrusy sweetness. Has a lot of flavors. It's located close to the Jefferson Park CTA and Metra stations. There's a few non dairy flavors to get for vegans.

So many delicious flavors! So many some are sometimes kept in back. They will let you sample a flavor to check it out. I always try to get something new and they change them out often. Non-Dairy options too. Everyone one is great & helpful. Love the ambiance and kids tables with games to play while you visit.

This gelato shop is tucked off the side of a building on Milwaukee. As you walk up, you'll see cute outdoor seating and a dog bowl, so they are dog friendly! They didn't have many selections as a typical gelato shop, but I did overhear them saying their flavors change weekly. I wasn't interested in any of the flavors they had currently so I tried a pistachio gelato bar and it wasn't bad. My husband had an affogato with vanilla gelato which he enjoyed very much. They have games available, which was nice to keep my children entertained. They also had a cute kids' table indoors. It didn't look like they had a restroom, and that's unfortunate because I desperately needed to wash my hands after my toddler ate a blue birthday cake gelato!

Best ice cream bars! They have so many combos, my favorite being the oreo and mint one. Accessing this shop is a little difficult as there isn't a close crosswalk if you're driving on the other side of the road.

Small business with great quality gelato. Always greeted with a smile and great neighborhood spot for the family. Small outdoor seating for pets.

Mayan Chocolate, Mexican Vanilla, and Mascarpone. The triple play of gelato.

Homemade Gelato, Gelato bars to go. Very fair inexpensive prices considering what your getting. Family owned, small business, local. Just had the Mayan chocolate, Mexican vanilla and Mascarpone gelato and 5 stars is an understatement. Try this place and you will fall in Love with it. Good to go by yourself, with a friend; perfect date dessert spot and they're going to have panini sandwiches and soup just in time for fall and winter. Right next to the Kennedy expressway on Milwaukee tucked back from the street. Steps from Jefferson Park transit center. You owe it to yourself to try this place. And once you do you'll see why it's 5 stars and you'll be back to try another flavor.

Delicious gelato. Don't park in the McDonald's parking lot for the gelato, they'll fine you $170 instantly if you don't use the McDonald's

I thought this was to die for - the pasta Yai Yai is a speciality here, and the ingredient list (brown butter, feta, and cinnamon) was intriguing. the pasta was perfectly al dente, long and thick pieces of bucatini. my dining companion loved this dish and was shocked how well the ingredients went together. I thought it was tasty but I could not get a real blend of the flavors, more just tasted "ok cinnamon" and "ok feta" separately, not much of a blend. - the Bavette steak could have been cut with a spoon. the most tender cut of beef in a sweet and sour balsamic sauce. the vegetables, cauliflower and broccoli, were cooked in different seasoning than the steak, providing for more complexity. the slivers of grapes brought out the sweetness of the balsamic.

The caramelization of the onions was tangy, sweet and savory. I got the famous pasta yiayia for my main dish and wow!!!! The bucatini noodles held the dynamics of the dish together so well. The feta cheese was creamy and had notes of sweetness and savoriness. The garlic cloves added good texture and earthiness. The brown butter and feta complimented one another so well, the cinnamon was a surprisingly pleasant addition, too. The dish was perfect.

We were able to get an early evening reservation but this place was busy! The inside feels homey and casual with some beautiful architectural features like the main bar displays, wine shelving, and more. The menu is intended to be shared amongst guests to try a little bit more. For drinks, we started with Bay of Naples & Lancia Scorpione. The Bay of Naples was a bit tart for me and could have used a larger rye punch. I did love the Lancia Scorpione as it was smokey, smooth, and sweet. We later also tried the Espresso Old Fashioned & Cortina Rosa. The Espresso Old Fashioned was strong but balanced with a subtle espresso taste. The Cortina Rosa was a great gin cocktail choice! For a starter, we started with the full order of Burrata E Ham. I love that staff wear shirts showing how to make the perfect sandwich with all components. The full order was the perfect portion to really enjoy all the flavors this dish has to offer and may have been one of my favorites in the night. For mains, we shared the Cacio Whey Pepe, Gnocchetti Con Pesto, and Sweet Corn Chitarra pastas. Each dish was a good portion for two people to share and was served as the dosh was ready. All of these were a great summer pasta option as well. Everything tasted very fresh, made with quality ingredients, and intentionally put together. Staff did a great job presenting dishes and saying how to best serve/eat the pasta. End the end of the night, they gave my husband a piece of funfetti cake with marshmallow frosting. The cake was certainly taken out of the freezer but was complimentary for our celebration which was kind. Overall, this was a great italian spot in west loop. Prices were a bit high for not having protein included in most dishes but the flavors and quality are there.

The food was really excellent, as was the service. But it was ridiculously priced. The reuben sandwich was $28. It was a great sandwich, very lean, but you could get a sandwich as good for half the cost elsewhere. They only have a couple of kid's items, but my friend requested buttered noodles for her kid rather than the cheesy noodles. I got the hibiscus drink and lavender lemonade, both non-alcoholic, and they were very good. My little one especially liked the hibiscus. And we ordered the appetizer of whipped ricotta and honey; my daughter liked this more than anything else we ordered. We didn't have dessert at the restaurant, but ordered to go. The pot of gold was really good. There were little "gold nuggets" on it and that was my daughter's favorite part; good thing since I didn't realize it had a layer with Bailey's in it. It was very rich, and the cauldron was really thick chocolate (and actually was a struggle to get into, a bit!). The restaurant is small but it didn't feel crowded. We never felt rushed or unwelcome, and we were there for a couple hours (longer than I realized; it took an unusually long time to make two reuben sandwiches). Their pastries are really nice but somewhat expensive, like the rest of the menu. It was a nice, sophisticated experience.

The green and white color palette immediately reminded me of Ralph's Coffee. It felt classic and polished but still charming. Everyone working there had a smile on their face, and the warmth felt so genuine and comforting, especially first thing in the morning. They had such a huge selection of pastries and cakes that it was honestly hard to choose. I ended up getting the cake shaped like a cherry because it looked so interesting. It was a black cherry cake and I paired it with a cappuccino. It was the perfect combination. The cake was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked. We also ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with a small side salad. It was fine, but not the standout for me. If I came back, which I would, I would probably stick to the pastries and coffee and try more of their baked goods instead. Service was amazing. The ambience was adorable. I loved how all the silverware, plating, and dinnerware matched that perfect green tone. Every detail felt intentional. It was just perfect.

As for the frozen treats, they're beautiful in their simplicity. This place is not Jeni's, and they're not trying to be. There were only three custard flavors with seemingly every kind of traditional candy, sundae, and fruit topping available. I heard great things about the concretes in particular and opted for the OMG, which was a peanut butter lover's dream!
