My homies decided to check out this place. Langostino's is seafood with a big heavy mexican influence (hence the name). You can order a giant fish bowl of horchata or a strawberry margarita. When seated, you get a basket of saltine crackers and instead of your standard chips, tostada shell chips. A small bowl of pico de gallo and some other super spicy sauce comes with it as well, with the plate circled with limes. The pico was phenomenal. It had the usual tomato, cilantro, onions, and seasoning, but there was small chunks of fish meat in there (which was first mistaken to be garlic), which was great. It sounds weird, but let me tell you, the pico did not have a fishy taste at all... I'm a texture guy and I really enjoyed it. To my dismay, my friend wanted the oysters..... with cheese. I love me oysters raw, but wanted to be a team player and agreed to it. The appetizer came with two different sizes -- we went with the 8. It was as expected. The cheese pretty much masked the small gems of oyster. I do have to say the cheese sauce was pretty good. I used it to dip my tostada shell/chips with em. For my main dish, I went with the Filete Relleno, which was a stuffed fillet (I'm guessing tilapia) topped with cheese, shrimp, imitation crab meat, mushrooms, and scallops. The order came with a small little salad that consisted mostly of iceberg lettuce, tomato, and a cucumber, a cup of some rice mix, and a pretty nice portion of fries. I don't know how they made the fries, but it seriously was really good. It had a really nice crispiness to it and whatever the fries were seasoned with, it was great. I was really impressed. In regards of the fillet and everything else on the plate, it was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and I was stuffed. Service was A-OK... could be better. There was a separate occasions where we asked for water, or a refill of pico, and we would either have to remind him after past 10-minutes or so. It turns out, the pico is not complimentary; we asked for a refill, which we got, and then later on asked for another, and the server informed us the first was free (not sure about the second, but we didn't get charged). Not a big deal, and I'm not complaining. But yeah, if you think it's like asking for more salsa with your chips, you can, just know that it's not free. Again, not complaining, just more of a "ooooh, I'm sorry.... didn't know." BATHROOM REVIEW: Located at the very front of the restaurant (there are two entrances to the restaurant, I'm referring to the side on Busse Rd, not Dempster) it is a one person bathroom for Men's. Inside, the bathroom was decently spacious, with room for a toilet, urinal, and sink. I elected to use the urinal and it worked fine. There was no paper towel dispenser, which I have mixed-feelings about, because sure, it saves the planet, but I hate rubbing my hands forever, and prolonging being in a bathroom that I don't really enjoy in general. Sit or squat? Squat.

This is a really great Mexican/seafood restaurant in the area! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for fresh sea food, a lot of complimentary small introduction dishes are given as well. The food here can get very expensive but there are also inexpensive dishes as well. If you like spicy food you'll love it here too - tons of spicy options. All fresh and homemade sauces and foods - 5 stars!

This place great! Upon sitting down, we were served ceviche with tostadas and a spicy sauce. Most options seemed huge so I went with the tacos de pescado and tostada de pulpo. Surprisingly the fish a d octopus had an amazing flavor. The orchata I ordered was really good too. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

Move in around the area from Chicago. First time visiting this restaurant since I'm a big into Mexican seafood restaurants. Also order Red Snapper and Langostino's. First review, the red snapper was very small for $25.50 and way over priced. Second review, order the half order of Langostino's. 10 small pieces for $25.99. ARE YOU KIDDING ME = Highway robbery and it was just cooked in butter. This was a ONE AND DONE from me. Never going back again. I will make the extra drive back downtown Chicago. Also, service was very slow.

So, I stopped in during the week, just after lunch time and found this little hole-in-the wall of a restaurant conveniently nestled in a shopping center next to the local Walmart. Even though I walked in and the restaurant was completely empty, the pure vibrancy of the decor and the cheerfulness of the staff encouraged me to stay. Not to mention that the aroma making its way out from the kitchen was absolutely mouth-watering. I took a seat at the bar while I perused the menu and was delighted in the simplicity of it. You know the food is about to be fire when the menu is simple and a restaurant focuses on what it does well. In addition to the excellent service, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I started off with some chips and salsa.... which was delightfully flavorful and perfectly crisp. Then, I had a bowl of the tortilla soup. Each spoonful was like deja vu. Each bite made me feel like I was in my grandmother's kitchen as a little girl all over again. The broth was perfectly seasoned and each bite came with a chunk of chicken and an assortment of veggies... truly perfecto! Once I was done with the appetizers, I made my decision to try two tacos from the menu. The first was a salmon taco--and it didn't TASTE FISHY. It was grilled to perfection and then paired with an unexpected yet delicious topping of crispy potato strings and chipotle aioli. I ate every bite of this. It was the perfect combination of crunch and flavor, I just couldn't get enough. Then I also ordered the carne asada a cabron taco. Simple, yet dynamically flavorful. I was so full at this point but took this one home to eat at a later time. Still as amazing as the day I ordered it i'm sure. While I neglected to have any desserts or margaritas here, I was assured that they are just as remarkable as anything else. I had a wonderful meal, excellent service and I greatly look forward to going back if i'm ever in the area again for work. 10/10 Highly recommend!!

Nice that they give an ice cream dessert. Enchiladas: good portion, my son tried mole that was spread on top for the first time, he didn't like it, but it doesn't mean it wasn't good, just something new he didn't enjoy. Cactus taco: they made it right. Nice texture with the crispy beets on top. Fish taco: this was ok, it fell apart bc there were so many tomatoes on top the juice softened the corn tortilla. Salad: good but they didn't have many dressing options and the one that came with it didn't have much flavor to add. Overall, cute spot, price is a bit higher here. They have many seafood entrees, seems to be what many guests ordered so maybe thats popular here. Service was good. No issues and things came out timely.

My friend and I started out with an appetizer, grilled octopus, calamari, and shrimp. We could've made a meal out of that. I ordered mini braciole but they were definitely not mini. I could only eat one and brought the rest home. The dinner came with soup or salad, pasta, and fresh green beans. I had the minestrone and it was very good. There's also discrepancy in their menu and what they actually have available as it seems they also display items for the the cafe next door. We happened to arrive during happy hour so some menu items were discounted. They also have a complimentary salad bar. We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. All the food items we ordered came separately over a span of 20+ minutes, with the sandwich arriving last and cold. Not only did the sandwich come on a cold sourdough bread, the meat also had an unusual texture and so I ended up throwing it out. The other items we ordered were lacking in flavor. The chicken karaage was prepared well but it had no flavor. I'm regret spending money at this establishment.

So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.
