Sushi counter
David M.

I went here today with an out of town co-worker. I've never been here before and usually don't frequent the Collingswood area, to be honest. But he wanted Sushi and this was one of the closest places that I located on Yelp. The ladies at the front aren't that friendly when you come in, but the server was fine and attentive. I had Miso soup, which was good, and also Spicy Crab Roll and the Spider Roll. Everything was fresh and delicious. I'd come here for lunch or early dinner only. Even though Collingswood is almost literally a stone's throw from Camden across Route 130, it's not really a diverse town, so the vibe is odd. Still the food here is good and worth a try, if you happen to be passing through on Haddon Ave.

Salmon avocado rolls and salmon sashimi

Their sushi was fresh and tasty. I got the hibachi noodles and shrimp as side orders, they were perfect, forgot to take a picture tho. We didn't sit at a table with a chef bc we went for sushi, but it smelled so good I had to try. It was a great experience with reasonably priced food and good service.

I've been here twice since my first review. Unfortunately, my second time wasn't good; the fish was not fresh (it tasted like the ice they had it sitting on) and I did have stomach problems the next day. But the most recent time was a good experience! The fish was fresh again and so, particularly because this is a small local business, I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Highly recommend this place!! Very knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity's & very accommodating with allergies in general. Fast service as well. Only complaint is the lack of parking, which can be a pain especially at rush hour.

Fun chef hibachi time

We were here for hibachi, which my boyfriend really enjoyed I actually had sushi which was very fresh and tasty, also asked for a spicy Kani salad which barely had any crabmeat (had better).. service was also good and fast, ambience is fun they turn lights off and play music and sing happy birthday off course if your celebrating a birthday,, it's also BYOB which I love and you can also bring in a cake...

This place was amazing! I went here on a Saturday evening with my fiancé. We both really enjoyed our meals! The service and ambiance were also both great too. It's also in a great location in downtown Collingswood. I certainly recommend going here! Its also a BYOB, which is great! I look forward to making another visit here soon.

Dynamite Roll

This was my first time eating at Osaka. It is in a very cute area with lots of shops to check out. I dined in for lunch and was happy with the spacing and Covid safety procedures. I got a sushi lunch special with two rolls which came with a soup or salad and a specialty roll. The dynamite roll was really really good! My friend got the shrimp tempura lunchbox which had lots of tasty things! Everything was reasonably priced and well presented!

The restaurant has a pretty large parking lot and after a certain time offers complimentary valet (it wasn't busy when we arrived but by the time we left there was a line for valet to get in). Walking in we were immediately greeted by the hostess and asked if we preferred bar or patio seating and we opted for bar seating. We were seated at a partial booth high top in a great section of the bar which was cool and had a nice and cozy feel . Our server came over shortly after we were seated and we ordered our first round of martinis while we looked over the menu. We finally decided on the White Wine Garlic Mussels, Buffalo Shrimp and the Cheesesteak Quesadilla. We were also served this amazing bread / pizza bread basket with roasted peppers which was absolutely delicious. I have to say that everything we ordered was divine! The mussels were so flavorful, the shrimp were massive with just the right amount of spice and the quesadilla was busting at the seams from being wonderfully overstuffed! We both said we would definitely visit again and try more of their specialty martinis and dinner entrees. Really great time!

The shrimp with pancetta appetizer is amazing. The buffalo shrimp were super crispy and the perfect amount of heat. All of the meals were flavorful and delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked. Another day... Another cheesesteak…read more.. This one is a hidden gem!! Chubby's in Gloucester city bar menu. There are only 10 places at the bar so it's not easy to get in there. The steak consisted of high quality beef, onions and hot peppers cooked in with just the right amount of cheese. You have your choice of seeded or non seeded roll and the roll did not disappoint. It was hearty without having to gnaw your way through it. Edited to add that I am generally not a fan of steak fries but these were absolutely delicious The bar menu at chubby's rocks !!! Chubby's is back--and it's better than ever…read more So glad to see Chubby's reopened in 2015 in Gloucester City, NJ. This is the return of the original Chubby's that longtime locals remember from nearby (1933 by Joseph "Chubby" Stafford), and it absolutely lives up to the legacy. The food is classic steakhouse done right--excellent cuts, cooked perfectly, with that old-school steakhouse flavor you just don't find everywhere anymore. Everything came out hot, fresh, and exactly as ordered. Service was outstanding as well: attentive, friendly, and professional without being overbearing. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they're doing, which really elevates the whole experience. If you were a fan of the original Chubby's, you'll feel right at home. And if you're new, this is easily one of the better steakhouses in the area. Welcome back, Chubby's--you were missed.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

And yes, there will be a next time. I ordered the 1/4 chicken platter that came with fries and a salad. The chicken leg was cooked perfectly. The seasonings were well balanced and delicious. Nice to find a place to get pollo à la brasa in the area. The fries were hand cut and perfectly cooked. The side salad was a nice size. I had enough fries and salad leftover for the next day. I tried some of the yucca huancain and it was good. The yucca seemed overcooked. The sauce was a little too thick. It may be because it was take out so the dish got cold. The flavors were on point but the texture not so much. The purple corn drink was so unique. I never had it before but highly recommend it!! I can't even explain it. Not super sweet and a hint of fruit. The sweet potato donuts lacked flavor but the dipping sauce helped. The flan was my favorite. It was thicker and creamier than I'm used to and really enjoyed it.
