Good prices in Haddonfield?! Why, YES! My daughter didn't have breakfast like the rest of us, so we stopped since she absolutely loves Chinese (and Japanese) food. Stopped in here tonight (8/21) for an impromptu dinner with my wife. We ordered the tuna amazing roll, sweetheart roll, and two tuna jalapeño rolls. The tuna jalapeño rolls were edible but nothing to ride home about. We unfortunately couldn't even eat the tuna amazing and sweetheart rolls due to the fish tasting very off and possibly even rancid. It may have been the spicy tuna which was in both of the "special rolls". We have been going out for sushi dinners regularly for the past 8 years and this was the first time we ever actually threw away sushi. I love sushi and I live less than a mile from this place but somehow this was my first time here! My girlfriend, 8 year old son, and I did a low key New Year's Eve party at home last night and ordered from here for dinner. Everything was perfect. Super easy to order on their website. We opted for pick up and walked downtown together to pick it up. We ordered about $50 worth of different sushi rolls and dumplings and it was all fresh and delicious. The place itself is tiny; I'm sure close to 100% of their business is takeout/delivery. Everyone was very friendly when we picked up the food. Wow! What a surprise. We popped in on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. We were hungry, not that hungry, you know how it is. To start with, we ordered a mango shake and a boba tea drink. Two of us ordered bento boxes, which came with a surprising amount of food for about $10 - a salad, a California roll sushi, rice, miso soup, and in my case shrimp tempura. Just want to say how much I LOVE this place. The physical location, yes, it's a bit divey but I don't typically have a sit-down meal here but more for the delivery and affordability. First of all, they don't use any of those crummy delivery services (e.g. DoorDash, GrubHub), everything is delivered in-house with their own drivers since I live in the same town as the restaurant I will get orders quicker than their expected time. Secondly, the food is good. Megu down the street might be nicer but is very comparable to Little Tokyo, I'd even say that LT is ever better. The only place that's better is Fuji but they're on a completely different level, that's if you want a truly nice sit-down experience. I just have to give this place props, I order from here at least a few times a month over the past few years and will continue to do so. read more

A new face in Haddonfield - take-out friendly Japanese foods! You have an array of sushi, hibachi, sushi burritos, sushi bowls, and bubble tea to choose from. It's not a fancy joint nor does it want to be. They can deliver (minimum $18) and is certainly an option if you want to find a fix for your sushi burrito / sushi bowl craving without venturing out of town. I tried the sashimi sushi burrito with spicy mayo - you have a choice of spicy mayo, regular mayo, eel sauces to go with it - and my friend got a dragon sushi burrito to go. We also got a bubble tea to try. Happy and sorry to say that they only have black milk tea flavor but I never really liked the powdered flavors anyway. There's a handful of tables and chairs in the restaurant and you can sit by the sushi bar and hibachi station but it was really cold in the restaurant and not necessarily a place I wanted to be eating at. They just opened earlier this month but already had plenty of folks eating and taking out. I'm super happy there's Little Tokyo in town; looking forward to trying their other dishes! read more

Walked in to place an order at 6:30pm on a Friday night. Quoted 30 minutes for my sushi to-go order. At 30 minutes, they asked for 20 more minutes. At 50 minutes, they said one more minute. I waited 65 minutes, paid $99 for 12 rolls of sushi for family dinner. If Wegman's supermarket pre-made sushi is a 6/10, then this place is a 4/10, judging on taste and quality. Luckily, I washed it down with a beer at home. We did like the pickled ginger though, so there's that. Our fav places instead: Tokyo Bleu in Cinnaminson Zushi Dozo in Cherry Hill Two stars since "during COVID". I have a feeling this place does well on promotional discounts since most people were picking up from one of those app delivery services. Placed an online dinner order (pick-up) on New Year's Day. Thanks for being open as we were dying for sushi. We ordered: spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spice girl and amazing tuna rolls. The order was ready at the end of the estimated timeframe. Little Tokyo has good COVID safety measures in place with plexiglass barrier at the counter with a small pass-thru for payment and larger pass-thru that allows the employee to place your order on a table for you pick-up. Called in my mid-week lunchtime order and it was ready at the requested time for pick up. Our order was for the bento boxes and a combo meal. Really large portions for $10 each or less. I had the shrimp tempura bento box which includes miso soup, salad with ginger dressing, a California roll, 4 vegetable tempura and 2 large shrimp tempura with white rice. Delicious. So far, I think that this is the best delivery sushi that we have found since moving to the area. No real standouts, but everything was pretty good. I ordered three rolls, the eel with avocado, spicy salmon, and salmon with cucumber. My couch companion had a spicy tuna roll and sushi meal. She asked in the order for no mayo on top of the spicy tuna roll, and it did not come as requested. The miso was okay, and the ginger salad was pretty good. Much better than some of the other places that we've gotten sushi delivered, but so far I haven't had anything that would make me drive over. With mixed early reviews, I decided to give this place a chance, especially since Fuji has gone downhill. Unfortunately, I think they need to go back to the drawing board. They need to strike a balance between takeout and eat-in, because right now the eat-in experience is awkward, with counter ordering, takeout-level disposable styrofoam plates and plastic soy sauce dipping cups, etc. Comfort was also an issue on my visit during a very humid day. The front door was open, no AC was on, and the oscillating fan didn't cover all seating areas. They have regular and lower sodium soy sauce options, but it's straight Kikkoman. Even Kikkoman's sushi variety would have been a big improvement. This alone is a dealbreaker for me. As for the sushi itself, we ordered a variety of traditional rolls and nigiri including Tuna, Salmon, & Yellowfish. The rolls used the greener variety of seaweed, which seems to be a trend at the cheaper places right now. I'm not a fan, and much prefer the darker varieties. The Tuna itself was strange. Very pink, unlike anything I've seen. It sort of worked in the rolls, but the nigiri was the worst part of the meal. The fish pieces are enormous in length and thickness. Without exaggeration, the strips of fish were easily 4" long and 1/2" thick! The tuna had to be scored in a criss-cross pattern to conform to the rice underneath! We took most of it home, and probably won't be finishing it. The server was nice, and pretty receptive to feedback. That earns them another star, but it's just not enough. read more

I hope this place stays in business so I added a star, if that makes sense. And I've only tried the sashimi burrito so far...and they just opened...so I'm hoping there is improvement ahead. I've had sushi/poke bowls before so I opted for the burrito (my first), which is essentially a huge sushi roll. It was good, although not mind blowing. The portion of fish could have been better, and the burrito was noticeably stuffed with lettuce to take up some space. I feel like it should have been maybe $7-$8, not $10. Yes I understand it's in Haddonfield but that's not my problem. It's not like there were any sides, or ginger, or anything extra to support the $10 cost. And as I said, it's not like the fish runneth over. The ambiance is pleasant inside (some low Japanese pop or traditional music would improve the experience) and they need to set up passworded WiFi for customers. I could see this as a fun hangout spot for locals and the young if Little Tokyo would just drop the prices a little. The bar looks really cool so I will have to check that out. The window seating looks good too. The staff is friendly and the place looks clean. I don't like the expensive sushi place across the street so if I need a quick fix, this can be my place. For reasonably priced, amazing AMAZING sushi and sashimi, I will still be going to Mikado in Cherry Hill. Can't seem to find anybody better, not even the pricey guy across the street who throws down pretty but average tasting food. We don't have many food options in Haddonfield so I would love to see this place busy. Drop the prices, put on some music, maybe install a TV overhead with Japanese content on mute, and hey, expand your bubble tea menu in the future (maybe even have different weekly flavors and specials). Have some fun, unlike the few other restaurants in town that you're competing with. Also, if the restaurant is BYOB, they need to put a sign up. That's a huge plus. read more

The customer service was wonderful - the team at Little Tokyo was accommodating and personable. The sushi was excellent and we most enjoyed the Incredible Hulk special roll. The Tobiko and Spicy Tuna rolls were surprisingly flavorful and well priced. The one suggestion for improvement I have is the sashimi portions and presentation were a bit lacking. I have had a spicy tuna sushi burrito and the Tokyo Signature Sushi bowl (comes with miso soup) and both have been delicious and very filling. Totally worth $12-15 a person. The staff is super friendly and has explained different ingredients and menu items to me and helped me make the perfect order for myself.
