Osage Restaurant at Top of the Rock might genuinely be one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Between the food, the views, and the entire experience, this was easily one of the highlights of our time in Branson! I highly recommend making an evening reservation so you can experience the sunset. We got to watch the sunset ceremony with bagpipe music and the firing of the cannon near the chapel, all with the most incredible views of the Ozarks and Table Rock Lake. And then there was dinner! We started with the calamari along with the complimentary bread and butter, which was surprisingly one of the standouts of the meal. We shared a bottle of wine and ordered the New York strip à la carte with creamy mashed potatoes and what might be the best asparagus I've ever had. If you're visiting Branson and want one special night out, I couldn't recommend Osage more. You could easily make an entire day out of Top of the Rock between the golf cart nature trail, golf, exploring the property, and ending the evening here for dinner and sunset. We chose Osage to celebrate my daughter's 19th birthday and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations. When making our 8:00 PM reservation in the Atrium, we were required to pay a $500 deposit. We arrived on time but were not seated until nearly 9:00 PM. One of the main reasons we reserved the Atrium was to enjoy the sunset views, but because our table was not ready, we completely missed the sunset. Once seated, the service remained very slow, and our food arrived only lukewarm. For a restaurant with Osage's reputation and pricing, we expected much better execution and attention to timing. The bright spot of the evening was our server, Christian. He was cheerful, professional, and thorough in explaining the menu and answering our questions. His positive attitude helped make the best of a disappointing situation. Overall, I would not recommend reserving the Atrium if your dining experience depends on being seated at your reservation time. We dined at Osage last Sunday for brunch with a view and it did not disappoint. The Cedar Lodge property is well maintained and beautifully landscaped. We arrived a bit early for our 10am reservation and enjoyed the scenery while waiting. I also enjoyed the interior decor that included Native American artwork and artifacts. Large windows framed the view and added so much to making our dining experience bright and uplifting. The staff were very nice and professional but we were a little confused about a wait after check-in despite having a reservation. I think maybe they were staggering arrivals to manage the buffet crowd... if that was indeed the case, a quick explanation would have been helpful. Overall it was a lovely experience. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Osage Restaurant! We dined in the Main Dining Room for dinner to celebrate our son's birthday, and they made the evening feel so special. Our server Yaroslav was friendly, polite, attentive, and accommodating. The food was delicious and worth the price. We also loved the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful décor--it made our birthday dinner even more memorable. The birthday cake was exactly how we liked it--delicious and not overly sweet. My family really enjoyed it! The location itself is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by the gorgeous Ozarks scenery. It's very beautiful. We arrived early for our reservation to view the sunset ceremony, it was worth it but next time I will reserve earlier so I can be at the restaurant while that happens. The Atmosphere was clam, relaxing not to loud on ambient background noise but a little loud enough you could not make out the music or anything being played but not overly so. The staff were friendly, our server was educational on the items and wines very pleasant they did become to busy to check in properly with us which slowed our check request and request to leave an additional 20 minute's but we enjoyed our time in conversation about what we ate at dinner again no fault of our waiter he sent another waiter to check in on us since he could get back to us till later. Now for the food - We ordered the maple glazed salmon. The 22oz ribeyes with 2 lb lobster tail as well as a side of truffle mushrooms paired with wine. The steak was perfectly tender and cooked medium rare, the lobster was succulent, with rich buttery flavor and tenderness. The salmon was cooked juicy not over done and tenderness to show it was light flaky how a plave know for food and presentation perfectly owned their reputation on one first time visit. The mushrooms were amazing we were so full we could not even order dessert just so full. Over all beautiful scenery and it was a hidden gem I was greatful to see and take time to enjoy a meal with. 10 out of 10 food. 10 out of 10 atmosphere. 7 out of 10 noise level. 8 out of 10 service. Over all 4 out of 5 stars becasue they could improve some aspects on my opinion but if the service required searching for a waiter or waiting to be check up on then it could have been 5 stars. read more

Don't skip Osage! It was very tasty food and the views were great. You can request the atrium when you make your reservation and if they aren't too busy you won't have to pay the hefty fee to sit there. We had a great time and enjoyed the sunset ceremony after! Our server, Jacob, was outstanding as was the view and sundown ceremony. The food was average at best. Jumbo scallops were anything but jumbo and had little taste. The brussel sprouts were dry. The pork chop was good. We were a party of 6 and were placed at a terrible table staring straight into the sun. Disappointing that they wouldn't put two tables of 4 together in a much better section when it was less than half full. It's definitely worth coming for the sunset view and ceremony and the museum and cart trail were good but I would skip this overpriced restaurant unless the food improves a lot. A drink on one of the patios to watch the sunset and dinner somewhere else would be my recommendation! read more

This restaurant is beautiful and it knows it. I made a reservation as a guest of the hotel for our first night here and was easily able to have the concierge change it when we realized we needed a bit more time to get ready after driving from the lake and checking into our room. When we arrived we did not have to wait and were easily accommodated with our request for a room by the windows with a view. Our server was excellent and very efficient, professional and friendly. He took wonderful care of us and did not rush us at all. We tried a filet, the Brussel sprouts and a wedge salad. We also ordered my daughter a pizza from their children's options which came as a huge and delicious flat bread that we both thought was wonderful. We walked around and enjoyed the view, visited the Buffalo Bar, and took some photos all while waiting for our food. Our server said it happens all the time so he paced the meal and waited to bring the fresh bread until we returned from the view so it was hot and warm. Food was delicious - service was excellent, and the view is stunning. It is aptly named bc you are on the top of the rock with a view for miles and miles of Table Rock Lake. read more

Osage is located in Top of the Rock, which is a gated area near Branson. There is a charge to enter and if you choose to not use the shuttles, there is an additional fee for parking near the restaurant as well. The grounds and view from the restaurant are truly spectacular. Rolling hills and canyons. Details in design are paid attention to here and that shows. Overall, the food was good but not totally outstanding. My favorite was the beet salad. I would recommend the steak too, but the short rib was tough and over powered by the apple cider vinegar it was marinated in. The sides were solid, typical steakhouse style- buttery corn and roasted Brussel sprouts. Washing this dinner down with $24 Old Fashions was steep (if you want them smoked there's an additional $4 charge) and caused us to imbibe in 1 drink each. The kids meals were good with standard options including chicken tenders, but I'd pass on the surprise sundae. It wasn't very exciting--- the surprise was whipped cream on top. Maybe just call it a sundae. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Consider booking a table by the window to take in the view and ordering the beet salad. read more

We wanted to take my mom out for a nice dinner for her 60th birthday while in Branson. We were so disappointed. First the service was horrible. The waiter would leave water glasses empty for extended periods of time. He took quite awhile to bring the wine & other beverages. He would seem very put out if we needed anything & rarely checked in on us. Food was terrible. The potatoes were cold, the lobster bisque was embarrassing (it was watered down & unseasoned. No bisque, more broth-like), salads had too much dressing, & overall most of our party were unhappy with the quality of food. My mom's 60th should have been special but it was a restaurant nightmare. (Also, no recognition of her birthday even though I said it when making the reservation AND reminded our waiter). The restaurant is undeniably beautiful. The entire Big Cedar property is an absolute marvel and worth the trip on its own. Coming from a fairly culinarily advanced background, I fully recommend a visit to Osage. My wife had the filet and I had the pork chop. The food was prepared very well. But it was not the main attraction. The facility, the views, the feeling of dining at the top of the world... the food was well worth the price and certainly did not disappoint. Our server was good. He made savvy recommendations and service was timely. His stellar effort and level of the food could not hold a candle to the energy of the building. The sunset ceremony is a must. We had our 17th anniversary dinner here recently. We went early so we could enjoy the sunset celebration. A great westward view with bagpipes playing and a cannon firing as the sun dips below the distance horizon. We started with a drink in the bar, then moved to the dining room. The grilled artichoke appetizer was fantastic, I highly recommend it. My wife enjoyed her entree of sea bass and my steak was cooked perfectly. It was an enjoyable un-rushed evening for us. The nearly $80 ribeye was very thin, maybe 1/2" if I'm being generous. After they brought me the wrong one (they brought a well done, I ordered medium rare) they brought another that was basically rare. Had a crust, but it tasted oddly of soy sauce. A weird u pleasant taste in general. . It was not good. Ordered two sides (Brussels sprouts and fingerling potatoes). I tasted zero seasoning on them. It's beautiful, and the staff was super nice friendly. Our server Imee was a bright spot. She was incredibly friendly and helpful. I hated the food though. I would go for the views and the ambiance. The buffet was excellent with a large variety of charcuterie, fresh fruits/granola/yogurt, seafood, breakfast favorites - some with a twist and some other excellent brunch/entree items. We reserved a table for 8. The sunset activities were amazing and enjoyed by all. The sides and salads were very good, the brussel sprouts and lobster Mac and cheese were excellent. All steaks were great except the 22 oz ribeyes, the meat was full of gristle and very difficult to cut, flavor was bland and barely warm. Steak at this price should be prime beef, this steak was closer to choice grade. Very disappointing as 3 in our group ordered ribeyes. read more

Made reservations months in advance because we're on a road trip and requested table with a view, we got seated behind the only obstruction in the place (big fire place) Ordered their birthday cake for a friend and they couldn't be bothered to clean the table prior to it being brought out. Food wasn't terrible, but the service was so far below what you would expect when paying the amount it costs to eat here. We couldn't even finish appetizers before they were bringing out dinner then to add to the rushed feeling, the waiter tossed boxes on the table for us to bag up our leftovers. It wasn't even close to an elevated experience. Wouldn't recommend if you're celebrating a birthday or something of that nature. read more

We didn't have a ton of options for food on top of the rock, so settled in here to eat. I know it's Holiday weekend, but at 58 dollars an adult plate, you would think that they could keep the food stocked up? My 5 year old didn't like anything... the only thing she ate was the waffles... and they were empty. The black berries were mushy (so she wouldn't eat that either) the only thing I ate was Cesar salad and my husband said the eggs didn't taste well either. The best thing about this meal was the dessert. I will say that when I asked for suggestions about what kids eat, they didn't recommend anything... but did end up removing the cost of my daughter's meal... because she didn't eat. I would have appreciated more kid friendly food options... especially when it's one of two options... although I never actually saw the other option. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants. We look forward to coming here every year after we pick our kids up from camp. I made a reservation a week prior without issue and we were seated in the Atrium by the windows. Our server, Inee, was lovely and attentive. We ordered the Spinach dip (always a favorite), the lamb (cooked perfectly), the lobster mac and cheese (my son is obsessed), the lobster bisque, the elk soup, and a Caesar salad (you have to keep the anchovies!). The bread service is always so delicious- their butter can't be beat. We also were surprised with a birthday 'sundae' for our son's 11th birthday, plus an extra serving of butter cake for the adults. Watching the sun go down over the lake with a glass of wine and their amazing food comes at a premium, it's quite expensive. Big Cedar Lodge has a few options for dinning, including bars, grills, a fine lounge, and this Osage Restaurant, at Top of the Rock, and very next to The End of the Trail, a sculpture by James Earle Fraser, at Infinity Pool. The whole accommodations area is some kind of old and luxury resort, while such high-end (expensive) restaurant is definitely part of the experience. It would be wise to reserve an earlier dinner (before the sunset), and then to explore Chapel of the Ozarks and watch an on-site show. Other than surrounding activities and resort itself, the menu is typical and should not be any disappointment with the food and services. read more
