Food and service were spectacular. In the front of the space it's more casual, but there's plenty of seating and a gorgeous outdoor patio in the back. If you are in Pasadena, I HIGHLY recommend coming here!

I'm a huge cheese lover and order cheeseboards regularly, so I was excited to try theirs. It was fine, but nothing memorable. The cheeses were good quality, but I've had boards at other places that were much more impressive taste-wise. Beautiful presentation though. The rest of the food was decent too. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. It's been a few weeks, but I couldn't really tell you what we ordered without looking at my pictures. I'd stop by again if I were in the area, especially to browse the shop, but I wouldn't consider the restaurant a must stop.

There were games on TV, but also people actively playing interactive games like Flip Cup and other group games, which made the whole atmosphere feel really social and engaging. Honestly, it felt like the kind of place that encourages real connection and community, something that's needed now more than ever. The space is large enough where you can comfortably have conversations while still feeling the lively atmosphere around you. The back patio is also a huge plus, especially in Pasadena where the weather is beautiful most of the year. Service was attentive, the food and drinks were both great, and overall it just felt like a welcoming community spot. Huge shoutout as well to the owner, Crystal, who was amazing and incredibly hospitable. You can really feel the care and intention behind the space. It's the kind of venue the community can absolutely count on for gatherings, events, or just a genuinely good night out.

She was condescending to others employees and had somewhat of an attitude towards us, which I now interpret as she actually was annoyed with her coworkers incompetence. The food was even worse than the service. The wings were so hard they were inedible. Water cups were disposable plastic. The sauces are prepackaged ketchup and ranch. The garlic fries are covered in what appears to be a premade garlic Parmesan wing sauce. The burger had no seasoning and the egg was overcooked. No run to the yolk. Drinks were cool. Would never come back.

The menu has so many options that it was genuinely hard to choose what to order! I ended up trying the bacon, and oh my goodness--it is absolutely to die for. It was easily some of the best bacon I've ever had. For my main, I ordered the French toast off the brunch menu. Flavor-wise it was great and delicious, but the texture was a bit more soggy than I prefer, especially once the syrup soaked in. I mentioned this to our waitress, who was incredibly sweet and understanding about it. She even said she would share the feedback with the kitchen staff, which I really appreciated. Since it still tasted great, I ate the whole thing anyway! Tips for Visiting:Reservations are highly recommended here, but they aren't strictly required if you happen to walk in.My only real disappointment with the visit is the parking situation. They used to allow self-parking, but now they only offer mandatory valet parking. It costs $11, which was a bit of a bummer compared to how things used to be.That minor parking grievance aside, it's an incredible spot for brunch with a killer view. I would absolutely come back!

Review has been cut at various places to fit, so excuse the flow of the review. I do rate upper quality restaurants a bit more since I feel like I am paying for an experience for the money a fancy restaurant commands and not just simply for the food they serve. All in all, as with all steakhouses, the steak is what makes you come, but the sides are what makes you come back! The food was great! The steak was meh, and the service was named Chris (more on that later). Not sure if we would come back due to the prices of the steak.. a bit pricey for what it is... compared to other steak places in this tier. At 6PM, Alexander's was not busy at all, although walking in, everyone seemed to be busy with everything except for the customer. Hostess was not in front at the time, waiters in the dining table seemed to be just standing talking to each other. The cooking staff seemed to be talking to each other as well. We received no greeting.. we thought maybe they weren't opened yet? But sure enough they were. Maybe it was because I was wearing shorts and a tshirt? Who know.. but after some time, the hostess came and asked how many people in our party. I mentioned two, and that's when she received a phone call... It was the steakhouse phone, so must've been someone asking questions, but she was literally on the phone for a good two minutes with no sense of urgency to hang up the phone. After the two minutes, someone else came by and seated us. We were told that Frederick would be our server. Not sure if it was actually Frederick that waited on us since we did not get an introduction, but he was a French guy. Not too friendly, to the point, but was attentive when he was around. The back waiter was a lot more friendlier and personable. He was the main reason we had a good experience! As we were waiting for our order (it seemed like we had a back waiter. We'll call him Chris) He comes up and serves us a watermelon hors d'oeuvres or something that came from the chef. We put it on the side since we were waiting for our drinks to come. Old fashioned with bourbon - this drink looked a bit plain, and was a bit too sweet for my liking. Presentation had one color going on. They should have garnished with a cocktail cherry. Geez I sound so bougie. haha - 6/10 Saturday night's ... - A lot of words for a simple drink. My wife said it was definitely refreshing and she would get it again, but nothing stood out about the drink. - 5/10 Watermelon hors d'oeuvres - This was very good! Watermelon was sweet. It had a salty flavor to it with a hint of mint to it. It was definitely refreshing! 9/10 Bread Basket - It was okay. The cinnamon roll looking thing was ooooookay.... the pretzel bites were the best and the long thing was wayy too dry - 5/10 Hamachi Shots - These were good.. not great. No one showed us how to eat this. It was a hamachi fish and other stuff in a shot glass. Can't just pour it out because the fish would get stuck inside the shot glass. If you scoop it with the small spoon they give you, you don't get to enjoy all the ingredients at once in your mouth. Very weird. It was good.. if you shoot the sauce, it becomes very overpowering with ponzu notes, so I assume you just use the spoon to scoop out the hamachi in two spoonfuls - 7/10 Hokkaido Scallops - These were the takeaway for my wife. I thought they were really good as well, once you know what to expect. Scallops usually have a light flavor to these. The Hokkaido scallops served here are garnished with backed fish flakes similar to katsuoboshi, which upped the ocean flavor up by 100. It took a bit to get used to since I was not expecting it to be such a powerful taste. When you expect this, each bite after that is amazing. I recommend eating a small bite first, then finishing it up on your 2nd bite 8/10 Australian Bone-In Ribeye - We had this at medium rare. This was a fatty steak, but was a bit too fatty for medium rare. I should have ordered medium so the fat would render a bit more. The cut we had had lot of fat on one end and perfect marbling on the other. I think I just had a no-so-great cut. What I found odd was that the steak comes pre-cut. Usually high quality steakhouses don't do this to lock in the juices of the steak, and other steakhouses do this more to make a tough steak seem more tender by cutting against the grain for you... in this case.. I hope it was for presentation.... I was not a fan that they cut our ribeye for us. 7/10 Yu-Choy - This was AMAZING! Vegetables with an Asian flare. This is a must have! I wish I could write more, but there is a cap on review length - 10/10 Mushroom Medley - This was also amazing!! A mushroom medley covered in butter with a hint of yuzu! This was so good, we almost ordered two! 10/10 Creme Brulee - Good, but not great. Not a fan of the bourbon that they infused in the dessert 5/10

Both were cooked perfectly. Taste was exceptional. Loaded baked potato was my favorite and it's a massive portion. Brussel sprouts were average. Patrick took care of us and provided a complimentary dessert. He elevated the entire experience by not only being generous, but because he was attentive and kind. I'm definitely not a novice to fine dining, so I can hands down say Arroyo provides a superior and supreme experience. For starters: they provide bread and butter , which you can choose from 2 different types: sourdough or garlic . We chose both , definitely freshly made. Only issue is that they gave 2 slightly small bowls of butter for x4 people. I personally believe that each person should be initially served with their own butter bowl if the portion of butter is small, but that's just me . Not a slight against the chop house, because of course, a person can just ask for their own. The waiters were very attentive , as much as they could be , because for a Wednesday night, it was really busy. -The drinks: Wonderful! Tasty and decent with the alcohol. I tried the Hugo Spritz and Tangerine Sour. One of my friends in attendance had Straw and Berry. The Hugo spritz is light and refreshing, very soft alcoholic drink. The Tangerine sour , was nice! It was potent! A little more sour than I would have liked, but I'm still not complaining. This is a good drink if you don't mind citrus. For the straw and berry , very cute and definitely has both sweet and the potency available at its advantage. -For Parking its mainly valet only .$8 not too bad . There may be street parking available but it is limited and timed. -For appetizers we chose the oysters and bbq shrimp. I'm not a big fan of oysters but they were very tasty nonetheless , when the extras are added (lemon, sauce) . The bbq shrimp ?? You gotta try it ! If you don't have any allergies. Very delicious. -For entree , I had filet mignon wagyu steak. My first time having and definitely recommend. The meat was so tender , juicy and damn near melted in your mouth straight delici-gasm. As a few sides we all chose , green beans , and garlic potatoes. -During our dining, we had to have a slight change in accommodations mid reservation to accommodate an extra diner, and the staff were more than happy to accommodate us. They helped move all food and drinks to the new table. Excellent customer service ! -The chocolate souflee with vanilla ice cream was recommended to us by our waiter, it was a wonderful dessert to finish off the meal. Served warm, was Delicious! Definitely would recommend. Had a great experience.

There is the school house parking lot in the back that is $1 for the first hour or you can park on the street. Once I arrived the host was outside a venue which looks like a store. A wooden door opens & inside is the wine cellar. You're walked to your table. I ordered the Mozart charcuterie board & a cab sav red wine to share. The ambiance is nice & pleasing. It can become a bit loud when more people arrive. There is a self playing piano as well. The server was kind & open to our questions concerning wine selections. I have no idea what happened to our server, but we were completely forgotten about. On top of that, the food took an extremely long time to come out, and when it finally arrived, it was very bland and underwhelming. The table next to us had ordered a brand-new charcuterie board and waited so long just to order their wine that they eventually left the restaurant without even touching the charcuterie board. Overall, both the food and the service were extremely disappointing. Waiting that long just to get someone's attention, receive our food, and eventually pay the bill is unacceptable. Definitely not an experience we'll be repeating.

As for the food, the fried olives ($13) were very tasty, even if $13 feels a bit high for six olives, and the cheese board ($24) felt a little sparse for the price.
