The Orkin man assigned to that complex (see pics attached) is not taking any action to address the SEVERE Cockroach infestation in my building. Each month, all he does is walk the halls and pick up roaches. Sir, I can do that . Why aren't you using any spray equipment? What are you doing to treat the infestation? When I first started with Orkin 2 years ago, their communication and customer service was top-notch. Over the last 8 to 10 months, their service and communication has been extremely poor. I find myself expecting them to come and then told their new booking schedule has moved my appointment to a date and time I did not approve of. Additionally rates go up frequently and there is no notice, just a new amount showing up on my monthly checking account. I've asked to speak to managers or supervisors and I never get return calls. I'm very disappointed. I had wonderful service from Orkin when I lived in Pittsburgh. I live in a subdivision that has a drain in the common area. My home is 3 years old. I accidentally left basement door. I'm not sure how long it was open. A few days later my dog (a Morkie) kept running to furnace door. I notice my carpet was eating around door. I open door and there was mice droppings. Come to find out the were eating my dog's food. I would find dog food in stove drawer. I have mice!!! I called local Orkin. I paid a very expensive initial fee. They tried to sell me insulation. I didn't climb in the attic with the guy. Who knew what pictures he may have took. So I'm about to fight with these mice. Day 1 Orkin laid a few pads down. Once I notice carpet was still be chewed on and a nest was about to be built. I went to Lowes and lined that door with sticky traps. Day 3 I had a baby mouse on one. I came home later to dispose of trap and the momma was on it still moving. My dog ran to another room that unfinished in my basement. There was a mouse on trap under fuse box. I called Orkin to come get the mice. They showed up 5 days later. In Pittsburgh I had an outside issue. Orkin responded the same day when I called on several occasions. This is why I choose this company again. It was close to the weekend. I couldn't sleep knowing that 3 mice were on traps. Two were the one I brought from Lowes. I went to our answer guide. The internet. I came across hit trap with a hammer. That sucks!!! I had to do something. I found small mallet. I grabbed a few plastic bags and made sure they wouldn't squirm of the traps. The terrier in my mixed Maltese came out. He still kept running to the furnace door. A week later I plugged in those plugs. The very next morning my dog immediately ran to the area. the trap was moved and this mouse's tail was moving. It had to go. Orkin wasn't going to come. It was a Sunday. I have not any new mouse activity since 3 months ago. I'm constantly calling Orkin to change plan. It was never done. I will keep them through the winter to see if the entry point was the unopened door. In the meantime another inspector suggested putting steel wool under step on my porch. Ive always wondered from my closing date about that. After 3 years. I stop wondering because there never been any signs of mice. So my next rodent visit was in mid July. I'm supposed to go to quarterly throughout the winter. Orkin still has me on every other month. The day the technician showed up. I had covid and wouldn't let him in the house. He treat for mosquitos and whatever they spray outside. I'm waiting on an invoice but it never showed up. Well my technician was scheduled again 2 weeks later. The beginning of August. The company claim to spray and come inside this visit. Yeah okay whatever. I took my card off of autopay for two reason. A charge showed up on credit card 2 weeks before visit. I was told it was partial for June. They were overcharging me. I paid $330 for the first visit but my invoice I printed later said $270. The office called and said I had a balance for July. I told them I never received a bill. That's why they prefer auto pay.Orkin claimed it was sent. She rescheduled me assuming the following week was fine. I told her I was on my way out of the country and it had to wait.I was flying out in the morning. I had another trip the following day after returning. That appointment was canceled because I haven't cleared up the last month. I'm all settled back home now and was about to pay them when I noticed I was still charged for inside. Also August was on there. So I know it was invoice created while speaking to the lady in the office. The initial invoice was never sent because they are trying to force me to do autopay. The invoice was $224 with a past due of $151 on the internet.I will not pay it because no one came in my home. I'm only paying for the mosquitos. I did not have this problem when I was customer in Pittsburgh. I went online and paid my bill. I still received an invoice via mail. I tell billers all the time. I lay my bills out in front of me. It easy to forget the online billers. The problem I'm having now with paying online. My Pittsburgh account shows. I hate to remove it because my new owners was able to use the remainder of my termite service. I'm the administrator so if I close it they won't be able to access it either without creating a new account. I had to use different email address to start account in Va. I will wait for custom service to call. me. They won't reschedule unless $151is paid. I won't pay unless the inside service is deducted or done. I'm reading my contract because I thought 30 days was all you had to give to cancel.I've paid this company over $550 and invoice of $224. That is $774 for 5 months. I can second what Matt P of Alexandria wrote. Orkin's representative represented that we had a mice problem. He scarred my wife silly, selling fear and a $5200 remediation effort. The work was partially done a month ago, but they won't come back to finish the job. Their representative represented that they would replace the 11 inches of rolled insulation in the attic with 13 inches of blown in insulation. They put in far less than 13 inches. They stripped out a roll of insulation in the basement where the wood fram rests on a block wall. They didn't replace it. Their representative represented that he saw evidence of mice around the stove. (Scared my wife.) They left that untouched, not even moving the stove to look, so if there ever were any, the mice are still there. Their response to my calls is either (1) that they are waiting for materials or (2) say they'll call me back. Nothing that I've seen suggests these materials can't be picked up an any nearby Lowe's or Home Depot, and no they don't call back. They did a good job of selling fear, haven't finished the job, and aren't going to get paid. read more

We were finding signs of mice throughout our kitchen and other first floor areas. I was heading out of town for a couple weeks and set a few traps before I left. We didn't catch anything so my wife reached out to Orkin to have them come look and get rid of the mice. They recommended a $5,000 plan that included spraying some foam in holes entering our house and removing and replacing some insulation in our attic above the garage where they allegedly saw signs of a nest. Probably $400-$500 worth of work maximum, if someone else did it. But they took advantage of the fact that my wife absolutely hates having mice in our house and was willing to do anything to get rid of them. Orkin also left a few mouse traps sitting around. We are nearly 2 weeks later and haven't caught a mouse. We wake up every morning with mouse droppings all over our kitchen table, kitchen chairs, couch, pantry, etc. Now I am right back to where we started...setting mouse traps every night with no luck. Orkin won't come back out because they said it could take some time for the traps to work. It's comical. When you hire a pest company it's to get rid of the pests!! Orkin essentially took advantage of my wife's fear of mice and hasn't done anything to follow up despite charging our credit card for the full amount. As someone who owns and operates a company in a service industry, it's hard to believe a company that provides a service can operate like this and stay in business. I would never use Orkin again. These people said I would be satisfied with their service, Well still have mice, Okay I never received any paperwork stating what my monthly bill would be. My wife and I arrived home with our newborn baby late July to find yellow jackets nesting in the side of our rental. Due to the extreme amount of activity, they were finding multiple ways into the upstairs bedrooms, one of which is the nursery. I called Orkin (Lorton) on Saturday July 23rd to schedule their initial treatment of the problem. A tech came out on Monday and said he couldn't do anything without a ladder and would need his inspector to come out and evaluate the job... we could potentially be charged "more" for their services. We originally agreed to $318, and that included a 30 day guarantee. After receiving no communication Tuesday, my wife and I reached out for an update. The inspector came Wednesday afternoon in a compact sedan (no ladder) to assess the job. He made mention that he had no idea why the job wasn't completed originally and he would have the original tech come back out. After the service was still not completed Thursday morning, we called their office to receive more information. We found out the techs hadn't communicated with the office about their visits and the office was under the assumption it had been cancelled. ???? The office said the soonest they could get us back on the schedule for the initial treatment was Friday, the next day. The original tech showed back up without a ladder again. He said the person who had the ladder has called out sick all week. He went back out to his truck to call the office about the problem and ended up coming back to our door with an updated invoice of $400, opposed to the $318 originally agreed upon. He said the guy was getting his truck ready and would be over to meet him with the ladder shortly. They treated the area of the house where the yellow jackets were nesting and caulked the "holes" between the brick where they were accessing their nest. Only problem at this point, it rained that night and washed away everything they had done. While at our home, the tech went into the attic to check for activity since they were getting into the bedrooms. He didn't find anything. We called back early the next week to explain we were still seeing heavy activity; both outside and inside. The soonest they could put us back on the schedule was the following week. Service was scheduled for 8/8. The tech and manager showed up and preformed the same work as the first time. The next day we were still having heavy activity outside and inside. I searched the bedrooms upstairs top to bottom (which should've been done by them at any of the previous visits) and found what may have been their point of access into the house. The quarter round meeting the hardwood floor has a small gap and they were coming into the house on the back side of the brick. I called back and told them "I" found the interior problem and I need them to come back and treat/caulk the area. They initially refused, but put us in the schedule later that week. The same tech showed back up and placed a bead of caulk below the quarter round, but refused to treat indoors... yet had previously treated the attic indoors at an earlier visit. Today, 8/18, they came out again. We are still within our 30 day guarantee and still witnessing yellow jacket activity both indoor and outdoor. The tech told the manager over a phone call that he was seeing no activity while standing in the back yard directly beside me ... there were yellow jackets scaling the house on the side and up the back. Blatant lie in my face and it's now become apparent they do not want to complete or cannot complete the job. They have referred the problem to be needing attention by our landlord, yet they are the pest control company... and this a pest problem. This is by far one of the worst experiences I have had with a company. Starting with scheduling confusion, to their inability to take care of the problem they are professionals in dealing with, to refusal of continuing service in their guaranteed 30 day window. I highly recommend anyone in need of pest control services look elsewhere. We need to as well! Our yellow jackets are still causing us problems and potential danger to ur newborn. read more

I'm utterly flabbergasted at the lack of integrity that was shown by the "man" that came to check out my rodent issue. He came to my house and assured me that there were mice living in my attic and it would take a significant amount of work to fix the issue. Mind you, he didn't take any pictures of the supposed mice infestation despite having an iPad. He quoted me 10k to fix the problem and 4k to do a "bandaid" fix. I was so distraught that my home was infested, I was on the verge of canceling trips and any other expense that just seemed unnecessary. I let him know that I would look at financing options and get back to him. Orkin has their own financing options if you are interested in screwing yourself. After getting over the sticker shock...I called two other companies. Both companies were smaller/local businesses. Both checked my attic and saw no sign of mice in my insulation (no feces, bad smell, urine or flies). Plus, both quoted me under 400 dollars and offered me quarterly check ups for less than $100 a session. What in the actual f**k!?! How immoral can a person be!?! read more

If I could give a 0 rating, I would. The way that Orkin preys on innocent, unassuming customers should be unlawful. Shame on you Orkin! They use scare tactics to frighten customers and push them into making hasty and COSTLY decisions that only benefit Orkin. When will unethical practices such as this stop? Why Yelp doesn't have a zero star rating, I'll never know. First of all, Orkin charges around $160 just to come out to do the inspection but says that it will be applied to future services. I was very worried and interpreted this to be they were a more serious exterminator company. Ha! I'd been bitten overnight by something repeatedly and was concerned (we moved here after many years in NYC) that it could be bed bugs as my husband had recently returned from a business trip. I called Orkin and they sent someone right over same day. The inspector was very pleasant but I had quite a bit difficulty understanding him. He was unable to find any trace of bedbugs anywhere. Then, his "supervisor" showed up. I'd not asked for a supervisor and although I was surprised, I was a bit relieved as he spoke English quite well. I know my extreme distress was apparent and he went directly up to the attic and immediately recoiled as if in horror then came back down, visibly shuddering, apparently at the large number of bedbugs swarming the attic. Alarmed, repulsed and even more distressed, I did not go into the attic. The roof had just been replaced and we had nothing at all stored in the attic. When I told him that the townhouse next to us is used as a (quite expensive) holiday rental, he said that the bugs likely had come from that attic into ours. I foolishly believed him and he recommended a complete "attic clean out," replacing the insulation with Orkin's anti-bedbug spray insulation, all for about $5000. When I balked at the price and said I would have to speak to our landlord anyway, suddenly he could give me a "deal" of $3000 but they would have to begin work immediately. My landlord insisted on sending his own pest service over to inspect and I made an appointment to have another national exterminator come out for a free inspection, as well. Neither of the other exterminator services could find ANY evidence of bed bugs ANYWHERE. NOTHING! I was incredibly relieved but truly dismayed that a company like Orkin would employ such scare tactics and actually LIE about an infestation. BEWARE and do not use the Orkin in Lorton, VA. Especially if a "supervisor" called "Hassan" shows up unexpectedly. read more

So I made my initial call this morning at 9:52 AM for them to come out and do a treatment of my home this was for new service I was given a window of 2 PM through 4 PM it is now after 4 o'clock they don't know where my technician is I specifically asked for today because I am 38 weeks pregnant and I am due to give birth at any time meaning I won't be home this is not starting off great hopefully there is some type of discount for this inconvenience since my technician was a no-show..... well it's my nap time if and when they show up I'll update ‍ read more

My tenants saw maggots coming from a ceiling vent. We have a monthly building service plan with Orkin. We have an attic above the unit so assuming there is a dead animal. There is access from inside the unit to the attic, but we need someone with a ladder and who is willing to go in and address the problem completely. The technician didnt have a ladder and Orkin didnt seem very accommodating for an "emergency" -- didn't want to come out same day until i BEGGED during a horror situation. we provided a ladder and they said it wasnt tall enough and left. this is the first time we've actually needed the company that we're paying monthly and they did nothing so far... Came back and said the problem is a dead animal in the vent and they dont do anything with vents. Left again without action. I called another pest company who came right out, with a ladder, found a dead bird (not in the vent), sprayed and the issue seems to be resolved. still trying to cancel my plan with Orkin and can't get a confirmation of the cancellation... so they have done nothing and are not responding to my need for confirmation of cancellation despite calls and emails. read more

I was put back on hold for 3 more minutes while the operator contacted the local office in Lorton. She came on and said yes he will call you I thanked her and hung up. . Jhonattan came to spray our house and yard for an ant and roach infestation. After the first service the ants that had been ruling out bathroom started dying by the dozen falling out behind the shower wall where they had lived for quite some time. We also caught most of the roaches that had been coming in through the basement. It was safe and easy. Jhonattan explained everything and quickly went to work. Second service was as great as the first and we have almost no survivors of the ant and roach families in the house. Totally recommend his services. Good to go with a trusted name. Buyer Beware! I hired Orkin for a couple of mice turds that I had seen on the turntable in my kitchen. I paid Orkin Pest Control about $300 for one visit with a 30-day treatment. They were pushing for a $600 contract. I didn't have an infestation of anything. They told me that there was a board that needed to be replaced under the porch and that was where the mice had gotten in. The next day it was repaired. I thought the problem was fixed but it wasn't. Mice turds reappeared about 5 days later. The technician came and said that whoever repaired the board under the porch, he left and little a tiny hole in the corner and that was where they were coming in. He said he fixed it. We shouldn't be seeing more. I thought they were gone but I put more sticky papers down just in case any mice were stuck in the house. The papers were down for 3 days and I saw nothing for about 5 days. Now the mice are back. I called them again. They told me my 30 days were up. That was it! Now I still have the same mice problem I had to begin with and I lost $300. They never resolved the problem. I'm at the same place minus $300. They stink! Find some other pest control company if you want the job completed. This is on their website. It's not worth the ink they used to print it! They lie. "The Orkin Guarantee If pests return between treatments, we'll return at no extra charge. And if we're unable to solve your pest problem, we'll refund your last service payment as long as you're a customer." read more

Much more expensive than everyone else but they assured me they were the best trained and most responsive. They charged me every month but did not show up and did not solve my mouse issue. I finally got frustrated and called and the manager gaslit me. He claimed I didn't know what I was talking about even though they clearly didn't come and I had the credit card bills that clearly showed I was charged for these months. I'd like to preface this little story with saying that I have a background in commercial integrated pest management. We recently moved into a home that we noticed the prior owners had removed the door sweeps from to paint before leaving it vacant for the summer. Knowing this, we expected the bugs we saw. Because of this, we also thought we should have an inspection and treatment done to get a handle on what we had before they hunkered down for the winter. Called to make an appointment, was told I would receive a callback and never did. So I called back and got on the phone with a rep. Was very clear that we wanted an initial inspection and treatment. We were under the understanding that the initial ~$300 fee would include a follow-up in 30 days and any in-between visit, if needed. The tech arrived and we learned we had understood wrong. ~$300 for that day's inspection and treatment. The return visit would be $111.00 listed under "recurring fee." Ok, so we signed so the tech could start and then jumped on the phone with Orkin to iron it out, only to find out that we were on an "Easy Pay Program" for a year (Which was NOT marked on the contract, by the way). What?! So Orkin took my credit card information and signed me up for a year's worth of recurring fees. No. I told them to cancel that program we hadn't authorized OR SIGNED TO. With treatment finished, I asked some questions. The tech never treated the interior of our house as I asked, "because we have a pet." He treated the exterior and set glue traps... all things I could do myself with things from Home Depot for less than $50. This behavior set us up for having to have a tech return, no matter what. I asked if attics and crawl spaces were inspected. He said no. I asked for a tech to return to inspect them, as Orkin promises a top-to-bottom inspection. The tech left. Another returned to inspect those areas. Enough said. We noticed problems less than a week later, so we called Orkin back since multiple people had told us we'd be covered for 30-days. I was then told that because I had cancelled the program I never signed up for in the first place that my contract was now gone and I would have to pay for another initial treatment visit for ~$300. I have never in my life come across such dishonest business practices from any company. I have had two people from Orkin tell me that there is no way I did not agree to an Easy-Pay Program for a year, because "They don't do that unless a customer asks for it." Meanwhile, I had never even heard the words "easy-pay program" or "12 months" or "one/a year" from anyone I spoke with until after I had a tech in my home and they already had my credit card information. I have asked multiple people to listen to phone recordings and to look into this. It took me screaming at the top of my lungs to get someone to agree and who knows if he is actually following through. I was offered a full refund with the expectation that we part ways. Oh yes, we are parting ways, but not before I warn other people about what happened. Still waiting on my refund to come through. Knowing them, I'll have to call again and again to even see it. By the way, we were also told we would need our insulation replaced in both of our attics and that it would cost $6500-$7000, but that "it would be under warranty." We could do it ourselves for 1/10 of that cost. Unreal. read more

I called Orkin when I noticed I had pests in my backyard. On the first visit I had a FREE consultation for other pests. Without asking, the service man asked where the attic was so he could climb up there to look for mice droppings. He said we had an infestation and insisted we get our attic insulation removed and new pest resistant insulation put in, costing $2600. We got a second a opinion because the cost was so much. The other person we brought in said we did not have a mouse problem and was confused as to why he was even there. After that we tried to cancel. We were told that our service was cancelled but are still trying to get ahold of the local branch. I have left voicemails and never get a call back and I am still getting charged for services months after canceling. It has been a mess. I will never use Orkin again. I wanted to share my experience to help others avoid what we have gone through. read more

I'd give them a 0 if I could. I had an issue with dry wall damage in basement room. Orkin guy tried to use scare tactics letting me know that I had rat urine in my attic, etc. He gave me a proposal for $8900 to address the problem. Turns out it was squirrels that came through an entry point on the roof that were nesting (found by another company that was giving me an estimate). After I knew the squirrels were gone, we fixed the entry point and never had an issue. I think the total cost for pest control, fixing the roof entry point and drywall was under $1500 (I can't recall)...but it was not almost $9K. These folks are a rip off and I would strongly encourage you to get several estimates and do not fall for their tactics. read more

I initially signed up for Orkin service last month (October 2022). When I spoke to the Orkin Tech at my home, we went over various service plans. The Tech told me that I could choose a quarterly plan - in which I'd pay $127 for the first 2 months, then be charged every 3 months afterward. To my surprise, my second visit was not free of charge (as I was told), and I was charged $117. Furthermore, the Tech did significantly less during my second visit. At times, he asked me what areas I thought he should treat - to which I responded by pointing out the fact that he was the expert, not me. After receiving extremely underwhelming service at the second visit and being charged $117 for a visit I was told would be complimentary, I called the local branch to gain resolution to this issue but was I greeted by a very rude call agent, who made me decide to cancel my subscription with Orkin. I've used them in the past without issues, but the branch in Alexandria, VA is unprofessional, incompetent, and dishonest. I would not recommend this company in the DMV area. read more

I called to schedule mosquito control for my yard. They assured me when I called that they use a safe insecticide and would treat my who yard. They pulled up my yard plot on the county website. They said that the treatment would make my yard uninhabitable for mosquitos and if I saw one mosquito they would come back and redo ray the yard. After two treatments we were still getting bit up by mosquitos. I called to let the manager know they only sprayed the foundation of my house and not my yard, bushes and trees. The manager told me that they couldn't spray my yard for the price they gave me and I would have to pay $20 more a month for services I signed up on. They said they couldn't guarantee a reduction in mosquitos. They said that I was lied to when I signed up. I felt like they did a bait and switch and failed to deliver on their promises. I paid a lot and still had mosquitos. I was disappointed with the managers response (he came across combative and accusatory in the first call - he was more apologetic in his second call - he said he'd cancel my account but didn't. I've called 4 times to confirm my account was cancelled but haven't received a call back) and the company's integrity. read more

They use Rollins Acceptance Company for financing the larger jobs. RAC charges things that aren't actually in the contract such as a "per diem" payment. Orkin has no idea (or claims to have no idea) about this and the technician who "explained" the contract to me had no idea what he was talking about. Cost me a lot of money and time. It turns out that there was a very unlikely hole that was continually enabling flying squirrels to get into, and out of, our attic. Erick worked directly and honestly with me. He was responsive and professional, and with a welcome sense of humor too. His team is steady and reliable and really know their animals. For the price of our annual pest service contract, we had 1-5 ORKIN experts visiting sometimes every 2 weeks. We got a lot of service. And, were continually assured that they'd keep coming back until the problem was solved. Initially, I was very skeptical of ORKIN. We had a long-standing contract with the local company they bought out - Western - so I feared this old, national firm would be bureaucratic and impersonal. I was completely wrong; they were excellent. One criticism, which is a corporate problem, not local, is the whole "orkin man" schtick. Why so sexist? Frankly, the person who got us into our 1st pest contract was a woman who was an entomologist working for Western. read more

What a racket. When you call up freaked out that you have pests in your new rental house they set you up with an initial visit for $200 then follow ups every other month for $99 each. If you want to cancel the follow ups you have to do it more than a month in advance. But why would you keep paying a company to return if the job isn't getting done? All they did was put sticky traps out for mice (I could do that) and sprayed for the cockroaches. They didn't tell me what they were spraying in advance and when I looked it up after the fact one of the sprays said it shouldn't be used indoors. When I said we were hearing mice in the walls the person said he'd look into options for dealing with that and then never followed up. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic, but after $300 worth of visits I'd expect some change. Total waste of money. read more

I have never had a more unprofessional experience with a company than I did with Orkin. We agreed on a technician coming to my residence between 4-6 PM to check my house. The fee was $95 for an inspection, whereas other companies such as terminex do the inspection completely complementary. The technician didn't show up during the two hour window and I kept calling the service desk which apparently closes at 5 (long before the technicians are done working) and they kept telling me there was nothing they could do for me. There is no way to get in touch or track the location of your technician so you have to sit idle while the technician may or may not show up. At 8 PM, I get a call from the technician saying he can't make it...I took time off work to come sit at my house and wait for them since this issue was pressing. The service center was extremely unhelpful and unprofessional and I'm shocked there is such a blatant design flaw in their process. Reporting back about three days later...I received a very nice call from Steve (manager?) and he apologized for the inconvenience. I explained to him the miscommunication and how there is no way to track your technician and he let me know Orkin is rolling out a new system to allow you to be able to communicate more clearly with your technician. He was very kind and apologetic and took time out of his day to hear what had happened. Although I was disappointed with the lack of communication, I am very pleased with their follow up and interest in my situation after the fact. read more

The guy come to my house to give me the first service it won't even take 20 to spray the house and before I know it he is out in his car, right their I know it's fake so I responded to their email telling them I don't need their service anyway but the guy come next month in the morning unannounced. I told them I want to cancel the service any say I need a month notice as if it is some kind of fucking apartment rental. Stay away from this people read more

When I called Orkin the receptionist said there is work to be done before and after the service, but the Orkin man would explain it to me. The website said there would be an inspection, but there was no inspection. He did not look at the photos I had taken of several types of bugs. He just said the Orkin treatment kills all kinds of bugs. The Orkin man did nothing but keep pushing the contract in my face, telling me he can't provide service today unless I sign, and didn't actually discuss anything about types of products used, scheduling with pets, what my needs were, or anything else. I wanted to schedule Orkin's spraying of the premises with my cat's visit to the vet but he just wanted her out of the premises now. I put her outside, and by the time I went to the bedroom, and immediately came out, he was already at the front door, about to close it. I noticed the other bedroom did not have sheets overturned and asked him if he did it. He said he did, then left. He never told me what he sprayed or ask if I was satisfied. He was there about 7 minutes for a 2 bedroom 2 bath 1024 square foot condo. I never actually saw him spray anything so am not sure if everything I needed covered was covered. He did not have time to talk to me about anything. I called customer service but the guy blamed me and argued "he did what he was supposed to do," which is sufficiently vague; and "you didn't tell him to do" the 2nd bed, which is nonsensical. Finally I received a text message for a rating and explained there was an omission, poor customer service, and would ask my credit card company to mediate. So they sent a man out -- but it was the same man. He began by arguing saying "I did what I was supposed to do" even though we had not agreed on what needed to be done, and "you didn't tell me to do it." When I told him he had already been out the door, he argued that he had not been. When I said he was in a rush, he argued that he had not been. Again, he was rushing, arguing, and not willing to discuss anything with me. It's exhausting to not have customer service on 3 occasions. I paid way too much money to be treated this way. He said the bugs would die off in about 3 days but they have not. After this review, a technician and supervisor came out, picked things up off the floor and did a more thorough job with spraying the floor. Still working on the issue. read more

I signed a contract in June. The first team that came out was very friendly and helpful. Then not a word. No phone calls. No information left on my doorknob until JANUARY of the following year. Charges were made every 2 months without fail. The local office was unable to offer any proof of coming out "every other month". I had to contact the regional customer service office. They sent me a copy of the work order of 2 outdoor services for bugs, but my contract was for MICE INSIDE!!! Because they never called me to schedule or alert me to an upcoming service, they came when I wasn't home and obviously I couldn't let them inside to do the service I actually needed. Individual service providers are very polite, but they make promises and don't deliver. read more

My tennant reported a mouse problem and called Orkin to come out and mitigate. At the end of their inspection they didn't even have the trap/boxes to lay out on the truck. They did not inspect the attic. Visit two they dropped off trap boxes, but did not bring kid safe boxes that could be secured, so the Tennant made them put the boxes away from the foundation in fear for her children. The traps were useless out in the yard! Visit three (this should have been complete in one visit!) is where things got interesting. Greg Bates proceeded to scare the crap out if my tennants by saying things like the insulation is completely saturated with urine, don't come over here you don't have a mask on, he told the tennants they needed to vacate during the "extensive cleanup". As the home owner, we received an email estimate with a few blurry photos showing a few droppings on the insulation and an excessively expensive work order to remove all of the insulation, seal holes and reinsulate. Greg could not answer our questions or provide proof of why such an extensive mitigation project was necessary. The worst part was out Tennants fell victim to his scare tactics and MOVED OUT!!! We ended up using another company for significantly less money. They explained that no one needed to vacate, and that the situation was not that bad. They found holes that Orkin failed to find along the foundation even though they were paid to do so and cover them. They mentioned that my Tennant was completely freaked out during their consultation and kept warning them "don't go in there, you are not wearing a suit and respirator". So thanks Orkin for scaring some nice people to death, and for costing me a Tennant. read more
