I've used Affordable Pest for at least six years or more. The initial service was for the removal of squirrels who wanted to live in my attic! The service I received yesterday was excellent. I received a text well before he arrived which gave me time to get home. The technician (Fernando) was very knowledgeable and did a very thorough job. I didn't need to direct him or ask for anything. He knew what was needed for the insects in the garage and storage area, and the surrounding property. The sprays and traps that are used are ones that work very well for my home and property. I have been a customer for more than five years. Each time, the service has been consistent and thorough. The technician messages me at least 20 minutes before arrival that they are on their way. The service yesterday was phenomenal. I had mulch recently applied to my property and it had covered some of the rodent stations. The tech reoriented and repaired the stations at all points around my home. In addition, inspections of traps inside my home and basement were performed. Additional glue traps were placed where needed and some were replaced because they had dine their job. I have never been pushed for additional services by any tech. I currently have the Gold Plus service plan. For a one time fee, they removed a wasp nest from a tree that was more than 12 feet high. I highly recommend Affordable Pest. I had something moving around in my basement air ducts on Wednesday night, and I was absolutely mortified. I saw what I thought was a paw coming through the vent, so I initially called another pest control company. That company thoroughly inspected my home, couldn't determine exactly what was in the ductwork, and did not charge me or try to sell me any unnecessary services. Wanting a second opinion, I reached out to Affordable Pest. The technician came the next day and performed an exterior inspection. He quickly determined that there were no obvious openings around the exterior but suggested that the animal must have entered through the attic fan. I asked if we could go into the attic to verify that theory. Once we did, there was no evidence that a rodent had been in the attic, and the attic fan did not appear to be the source. The conversation then shifted to an approximately $1,100 package that included infrared tracking of the roof, placing a cage over any suspected entry point, and eventually sealing an opening that had not yet been identified. At that point, we still didn't know what type of animal was in my home or where it had entered, so I wasn't comfortable spending $1,100 based on an unconfirmed theory. I declined, and the visit ended without a resolution. About two hours later, the mystery solved itself when we found a bat in the basement bathroom sink, right next to one of the vents it had apparently been traveling through. I'm very glad I sought multiple opinions and didn't purchase the $1,100 package. He was only due to do the exterior of my home, but since he caught us as we were about to leave he asked me if I had any problems; I told him spiders. so he checked the interior; sprayed and checked the traps to replace them as needed. he was very professional and he gave us an extra indoor traps if needed. I have used them for 5 years; have a quarterly rate/package. They have helped with rats, termites, etc. I find everyone who comes to my house to be knowledgeable and--noticeable because it's so rare--uniquely pleasant and polite. Also, if you are more squeamish with dead rodents than live ones (like me) they have come out multiple times to remove dead rats from my yard--same day or next day from the time I call them. Six weeks later they charged my credit card claiming to have serviced my property after I had terminated their service AND on a day I was not even at home. I have a been problem. The inspector sent to my house looked, identified that the bees are yellow jacket bees. I asked how come he does not put on protective gear and his response was "I don't need it because I'm the inspector". He did apply Defense Powder and said i would receive a second application in a couple days. After a few days and no scheduling for the second visit, I reached out to the company and was told a technician will be coming. He comes but thought it was to exterminate inside my house--don't know where he got that information from--so I told him it's bees in front of my house. He goes to his truck to switch spray cans. I show him the bees and he proceeded to spray. I told him the inspector used Defense Powder so after he sprayed with the first solution, he switched to the Defense Powder. I was told give it a couple hours... Problem still exists so I reached out to the company again and was told that she was offering a "free" visit but same technician comes, same application. I told him whatever that company uses is not effective. He goes to get a flashlight and said he will prepare a write up to request the shingles be removed in order to remove the nest. HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM COMPANY so I reached out to the technician and he said he was letting management know "right now" about his recommendation. Apparently there's a lack of communication and follow up from management to customer. No survey rendered to see if problem was resolved. The amount of money I paid this company, I had already been doing. Inspector and technician definitely need more training when dealing with bees. Very UNSATISFIED customer. Now I have to find another company and pay possibly the same amount. Ridiculous!!!! read more

I do not know why there are just 2 stars for this incredibly awesome business? I had Terminix and they charged me so much money but didn't deliver when I found rodents. I asked if I had mice or rats and where are they coming from? they told me that it was a mouse because rats are 2 feet long and what I saw was a mouse even though I said it was 6 inches long. Truth! I was terrified but they took so long to come so I called Affordable Pest control and they came out fast. their technician Deandro told me "How can they say that? that's a dog at 2 feet long! it was a rat, lady. He said we will find where it's coming from before he leaves and fix the problem with traps etc. well he pulled out my stove, fridge, checked addic, laundry room, well we did find it, a torn hole in dryer hose that led outside with no covering on outside so rats, mice, just came in, partied, whenever they wanted to do so but I never ever knew it was open with tearing a big hole in the dryer hose. The problem was fixed and I also had Fernando, who works there too, a technician who was very patient and thorough. I canceled my agreement early with Terminix who never refunded my months left on agreement which was wrong and I signed on with Affordable Pest. it was so much more reasonable than Terminix too! it's been 3 years or more and I never looked back. customer service is always awesome and they jumped fast to aid my concerns. I'm very happy with their service so I do not understand this low rating, give them a try, I'm glad that I did. I'm having a pretty good experience with affordable pest. Abraham, the service guy, is very respectful of my home and very thorough. I had a mice problem and he literally walked through my home, identified possible points of entry, and sealed them. He was very patient and examined and plugged every spot I identified and he thought might have been potential points of entry--including the exterior. He also laid covered traps (which nothing has yet to surface, maybe blocking entry points did it). I have not seen mice or mice poo to date. They are easy to get in contact with, and want to make sure they have a satisfied customer. You can view a report online after each service visit, about what they did. The bad: They don't always tell you when they are coming... they come and treat the outside and leave, great, but not great if you wanted them to treat inside too. Due to a raccoon in my attic, I hired Affordable Pest to close the access point and replace all insulation in my attic, then paid promptly for the service. A subsequent issue required another firm to go up into my attic, where it was discovered that only half the insulation was removed and replaced. In addition, a close up photo indicated Affordable Pest's shoddy work in closing the access point. After calling Affordable Pest, it took almost a week for my call to be returned. The manager, Barry, came to our home and agreed to complete the insulation work and give us a $1000 refund so that we could have the roof access point repaired by a professional. That was March 5, 2022. They did complete the insulation work but as of May 20 have not given me the refund and do not return any of my calls, emails or texts. I would never recommend their services. I told the person on the phone that I had been waiting all day and wanted someone to actually inspect. He told me he would call the office - then called me back and told me someone could be out the next day 1-4. They showed up at a time when they knew we were unavailable, subsequently claimed to have "completed" the treatment of our house, and then billed us. In fact, they lied about completing the treatment. When we pointed out their falsehood, Affordable Pest agreed to come back on a certain day. They did not show up. Instead, Affordable Pest showed up a different day, even though we had told that we were unavailable on that day. Of course, Affordable Pest then sent us the same bill claiming that they had completed the treatment, when in fact they had done nothing. The bottom line is Affordable Pest is a terrible company that does not provide the service it is supposed to provide, lies about providing those services, and then repeatedly bills for services that it does not provide and about which it lied.
