The technician spent alot of time in the home, was knowledgeable and pleasant The pricing was transparent. The office is extremely easy to work with! They have the coolest portal which, again is extremely transparent! They upload pictures of your technician and of your property and a detailed description of the work done! Absolutely incredible. When you think about the nature of their business and the fact that probably something is wrong at first to need their services, they make everything seem much better! I do not know why there are just 2 stars for this incredibly awesome business? I had Terminix and they charged me so much money but didn't deliver when I found rodents. I asked if I had mice or rats and where are they coming from? they told me that it was a mouse because rats are 2 feet long and what I saw was a mouse even though I said it was 6 inches long. Truth! I was terrified but they took so long to come so I called Affordable Pest control and they came out fast. their technician Deandro told me "How can they say that? that's a dog at 2 feet long! it was a rat, lady. He said we will find where it's coming from before he leaves and fix the problem with traps etc. well he pulled out my stove, fridge, checked addic, laundry room, well we did find it, a torn hole in dryer hose that led outside with no covering on outside so rats, mice, just came in, partied, whenever they wanted to do so but I never ever knew it was open with tearing a big hole in the dryer hose. The problem was fixed and I also had Fernando, who works there too, a technician who was very patient and thorough. I canceled my agreement early with Terminix who never refunded my months left on agreement which was wrong and I signed on with Affordable Pest. it was so much more reasonable than Terminix too! it's been 3 years or more and I never looked back. customer service is always awesome and they jumped fast to aid my concerns. I'm very happy with their service so I do not understand this low rating, give them a try, I'm glad that I did. I'm having a pretty good experience with affordable pest. Abraham, the service guy, is very respectful of my home and very thorough. I had a mice problem and he literally walked through my home, identified possible points of entry, and sealed them. He was very patient and examined and plugged every spot I identified and he thought might have been potential points of entry--including the exterior. He also laid covered traps (which nothing has yet to surface, maybe blocking entry points did it). I have not seen mice or mice poo to date. The good: We signed up for their quarterly silver plan, and it reduced the number of ants and bugs coming into the house. They are easy to get in contact with, and want to make sure they have a satisfied customer. You can view a report online after each service visit, about what they did. The bad: They don't always tell you when they are coming... they come and treat the outside and leave, great, but not great if you wanted them to treat inside too. Due to a raccoon in my attic, I hired Affordable Pest to close the access point and replace all insulation in my attic, then paid promptly for the service. A subsequent issue required another firm to go up into my attic, where it was discovered that only half the insulation was removed and replaced. In addition, a close up photo indicated Affordable Pest's shoddy work in closing the access point. After calling Affordable Pest, it took almost a week for my call to be returned. The manager, Barry, came to our home and agreed to complete the insulation work and give us a $1000 refund so that we could have the roof access point repaired by a professional. That was March 5, 2022. They did complete the insulation work but as of May 20 have not given me the refund and do not return any of my calls, emails or texts. I would never recommend their services. Price was right and work was performed in the time they promised. They real problem they have is communication and scheduling. It's impossible to get someone on the phone who can actually help you. They constantly reschedule and once you're able to agree on a service date, they will text you confirming different dates and/or times. Additionally, techs will show up not knowing what the job is about. It feels like a lot of improvisation happens all throughout this operation. At the end of the day I got a call telling me they wouldn't make it (no kidding) and it would be a week before the could get to me. Meanwhile I have squirrels in my wallls I tried reaching out to the company and have been told repeatedly that a manager would call me to straighten things out. No manager has called me. I told the person on the phone that I had been waiting all day and wanted someone to actually inspect. He told me he would call the office - then called me back and told me someone could be out the next day 1-4. We hired Affordable Pest to do a big job about 2 years ago, and they were awesome. We wanted to do things humanely and they were amenable, and we are still under contract with them. Now I keep being told that the staff changed so things are different now. I guess now they choose not to abide by their contracts. They showed up at a time when they knew we were unavailable, subsequently claimed to have "completed" the treatment of our house, and then billed us. In fact, they lied about completing the treatment. When we pointed out their falsehood, Affordable Pest agreed to come back on a certain day. They did not show up. Instead, Affordable Pest showed up a different day, even though we had told that we were unavailable on that day. Of course, Affordable Pest then sent us the same bill claiming that they had completed the treatment, when in fact they had done nothing. The bottom line is Affordable Pest is a terrible company that does not provide the service it is supposed to provide, lies about providing those services, and then repeatedly bills for services that it does not provide and about which it lied. We made contact with this company two weeks ago. We were told a specific time to be available at the home for an inspection and estimate. We waited and waited and then a phone call from a technician providing an estimate over the phone was provided. (First red flag) Then we were given a time and date of service my husband waited and waited...no one showed up. We were concerned we may have bed bugs after our daughter woke up with bites one morning. We scheduled Affordable Pest to come out and do a free inspection and when they arrived the did a visual inspection of the nursery as well as the master bedroom. When they looked at the base of the box spring in the master bedroom they found what appeared to be bed bug exoskeletons. This was surprising as the suspected bed bug activity had only happened a couple of days before and was in the nursery. My wife and I had never been bit and to have exoskeletons in the master bedroom would suggest a well established infestation. I asked about possible treatments and they said they would only treat those two rooms. They didn't even bother to do an inspection of the downstairs or other areas of the house and assured me that a limited treatment (only spraying some furniture and the baseboards) would be sufficient to clear up an infestation. This is contrary to what every source available suggests on how to eliminate bedbugs, which are notoriously difficult to kill. They didn't even confirm that other rooms did not have bedbugs before suggesting treatment. The next day I had a trained bed bug detecting K9 come do an inspection of the house. The K9 did not detect a single bed bug and the handler said that we did not have an infestation. I find it odd that Affordable Pest found exoskeletons, swore I had an infestation and needed treatment, and yet a trained bed bug K9 could not find a single bug. Be wary of Affordable Pest's free inspection. read more

The office staff is a very different story. they double bill you, bill when no service was rendered and charge late fees when no lateness has occurred. it is very difficult to cancel the service, I have snail mailed, email, called yet they still show up. The only way we got out of being spammed and harassed was when we moved. Use extreme caution when using this service until they replace the office staff and whatever you do don't give them your credit card information! Affordable Pest is a HORRIBLE COMPANY. The technicians are great people, but the management is an absolute headache and sketchy. I had a mouse issue which was promptly solved when LL plugged entry holes. A fast-talking initial inspector came to the house and sweet-talked me into paying $375 for protection of the home and check-up visits. This part was perfectly reasonable. What he did NOT explain is that I had signed a year-long minimum contract (with a $250 early termination fee). So, I was locked in to paying $150 quarterly for technician to show up RANDOMLY WITHOUT SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. All of my scheduled appointments with this company were cancelled and rescheduled and then those times were not kept. Mind you, the technicians are great -- this is the management's fault. Regarding management, they are in a ""back-office" and are not available for calling. You will receive a front-desk person with no ability to do anything -- they will simply note your call to their supervisor. This resulted in three mice being left in a trap for a 1 week+ -- they smell was horrid and moved outside. I had to dispose of it myself as the appointment for removing them was cancelled and never rescheduled. The initial inspections covered by the $375 were never held and received no apology or acknowledgment from management. This company is an absolute sham. They do not keep files just iPhone pictures of paper. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING FROM THEM WITHOUT IT BEING FULLY EXPLAINED AND REVIEWED. So my total cost for catching 4 mice totaled $375 + $150 + $250 early termination fee. That's $775. The initial inspector knew that the issue didn't require this level of contract -- but definitely got the commission. I hired affordable pest in February 2023 to remove a squirrel from my townhome attic. The inspector who came out was wonderful and gave me reassurance that they would take care of it. They sent their carpenter out to install a one-way door, and then took it down after a week and patched everything. The squirrel came back 2 weeks later, this time in the soffit. They came back and supposedly sealed the soffit. Not even a week after that, the squirrel was back in my attic digging holes in my ceiling. I called them once again to come back and handle it, and they never called me back. Every time I call to check in, I have to tell them whole situation from the start all over again and then they say they will call me back. I had another company come out today and it turns out the squirrel was never entering my attic through my house, it's entering through my neighbor's house and coming into mine from inside. The areas affordable pest treated showed no signs of a squirrel trying to get in. I feel like I've wasted $1,300 on a company who just completely ripped me off. read more
