Whatever you do, do NOT work with this company. I stopped working with them last fall because they weren't showing up, they weren't answering their phones, etc. so I cancelled my account. They referred my account to a collections agency despite the fact that I had a $0 balance. They sent me bills saying I owed them $98. Every time I logged into my account to pay the bill online it said I had $0 balance. I tried calling Pest Now several times but no one ever answered the phone. I figured it was an accounting mix up but then I started getting calls, letters and texts from ARM Collections. I called Pest Now and again, no one answered. I ultimately paid $98 to make the collections people stop. Pest Now cashed the check on March 16th. And they referred my account to ARM again on May 1st. This is harassment at this point but it's also indicative of Pest Now's inability to conduct basic financial accounting. read more

Pest Now used to have team members available to answer the phone and email. Now, I have called at least 7 times over the last 2 weeks, emailed and have received ZERO responses. If I had known they were sold or have a new system that doesn't allow you to talk to anyone I would have never renewed. Today, I received a check in the mail that I gave to a tech. He either dropped it or mailed it in (without my permission) and it was showing our personal and confidential information. The USPS dropped it in the mailbox in a clear envelope. I've been trying to call and no one is answering. It's unacceptable. Very disappointed. The only positive thing I can say, is my regular tech for Pest Control, Steven, is great. Update - I was finally able to speak to a manager after about 40 minutes on the phone yesterday, who was very understanding, and they offered a temporary resolution. The service guy put his foot through our ceiling Insulation and dry wall filled the room. One week on and the repairs are still not completed. They have to patch the ceiling and replace the lost insulation. We were unable to sleep in our bedroom for 3 nights and had to clean the room twice of dust and construction mess. So shady! They basically just pulled out our oven and showed us where mice nah have come in, but declined to patch the hole. All they did was put out a few rat traps. We had to go to Home Depot and figure out how to patch the holes ourselves. After the first visit, we paid for one quarterly invoice and then cancelled. As a real estate agent who is dependent on timelines and predictability, their new online only method of ordering inspections is horrendous. They say someone will reach out in the next 48 to 72 hours. Spoiler alert, people don't reach out. You can get a commitment on timelines from anyone over the phone so you're left wondering when the inspection will happen. A long shot from their previous system in the past. I've used them for years and even when they had a shady tech come and "spray" less than 2 min - usually they old guy was there for at least 15-20 to make sure he got all the yard and back deck. I work from home so I do watch to see what they do. I stayed with them to let them correct themselves. However, they recently did a merger with another company and I couldn't access the system to pay the bill and kept sending me notices. I called and left mulitple messages trying to pay and finally go a hold of someone 2 months later. Paid and cancelled. Not long after, I discovered over 25 wasp nests tucked under the handrail of our upper deck--one between nearly every post. Jason returned right away, in 106° real-feel heat, and removed every single nest. He also sprayed around the entire house and deck to prevent future issues. Stay away. I have been with PestNow for a few years and they were usually responsive and professional. However, my last experience with them caused me to cancel my account. I had an ant infestation problem in my bathroom. I called and a technician arrived on schedule. He treated my bathroom for ants and also sprayed product around the exterior of my home. He also apparently discharged some product in my driveway that left two very large white stains on my blacktop. I contacted PestNow management via email about the stains. I emailed photos of the stains. Management told me that someone would come by and address them. I also told them that I still had ants in my bathroom. I was informed by management that the technician would address the ants and the stains during his visit. The technician visited, treated my bathroom again, but he did nothing with the stains. I reached out to management via text and asked why the stains were not addressed as promised. After some texting back and forth, the manager ghosted me. PestNow did not, and I suspect will not, remove the stains in my driveway. So now I have two large, ugly, white stains in my driveway. I will have to pay someone to remove them. The second treatment of my bathroom didn't work, so I still have ants. I am done with them. This company used to be locally owned, but it was purchased by a larger entity. This may explain the poor customer service. I suggest that you do not start with them. read more

They've been out twice to our home and haven't found the mouse nest. They put out baits, we clean and clean, and trap 1-2 mice with OUR traps and then bam, more mice. They didn't seal ANYTHING, didn't MOVE anything, they just put down traps and leave. I know the mice have gained an entry point somewhere and we called pest control to find it! They didn't even bring steel/copper wool or caulk!!! WE FOUND A HOLE in our living room that goes somewhere but my husband put a sticky trap over the hole and they LITERALLY LEFT IT THERE. RIDICULOUS. I am anxious and stressed. I have kids and two dogs so keeping them OUTSIDE is clutch. I guess it's time to call another pest control because this isn't it. read more

We had heard some squirrels in our attic and had someone out to take care of it. They identified a hole in the roof and gave us a quote to fix it, and also recommended replacing the insulation. We used PestNow to fix the hole, but when we had a different company out to replace the insulation two weeks later, they noticed additional holes that PestNow did not see or fix. We're extremely disappointed with the money we spent, and time taken off of work, that ended up with a job only half done. Oh - also they say they have Saturday hours but it's only once a month, and extremely difficult to get an appointment during that time. read more

I called them out twice, and 3 months after the first visit they called me to schedule the follow-up. I told them I had declined it and that was okay. 6 months after the second visit they sent an invoice for a follow-up service that had not been provided, and then two statements showing the same balance. We contacted PestNow for an inspection related to a suspected rodent living in our home office wall. 3 stars for the initial contact process. We used their online form and received an email response from a real person within 24 hours. I requested that the person call me right away to schedule the inspection but he never did. Because the rodent was actively chewing a hole in my ceiling, we didn't want to wait and decided to call in ourselves on the next business day. The customer service rep was friendly and got us scheduled for a next-day inspection. 2 stars for the initial inspection. The rep was polite and respectful of our home. Without doing much in the way of investigating, he told us it was likely a rat or a squirrel, and left with a plan to return the following morning to complete the inspection and set traps. The rodent kept chewing away (loudly) during this time, so we set out a rat trap just in case it decided to come inside. Well, come inside he did--sadly, it was neither rat nor squirrel, but a cute fluffy chipmunk that had somehow gotten stuck inside the home. He got snapped by the rat trap, and we felt awful!! We wished the inspector had mentioned the possibility of a chipmunk, as these guys are usually not a risk to the home or health. Had we known, we could have used a humane trap to capture and release outside. (Don't worry, we got him to a wildlife rescue and he seems to be on the mend). 5 stars for the follow-up inspection. Kudos to JR for salvaging our PestNow experience. He was awesome! He told us that we probably did not need the rat traps, as it was most likely we caught the culprit--chipmunks are solitary creatures, so it was very unlikely that we'd find others inside. He canceled the rodent service and instead went over some tips to avoid a chippie getting trapped inside again (quite possibly came through our dog door). I could not recommend Pest Now more highly, and I found them through Reddit (r/nova), not through Yelp. But I had to leave a Yelp review because the folks at Pest Now are wonderful, and if you are dealing with roaches, CALL THEM. They will give you peace of mind. I am terrified of roaches, and I live in an apartment building where they travel from unit to unit, gross little things! So I called Pest Now because I didn't want to deal with going through my landlord. Pest Now had availability starting the next day! I booked service for a two-hour window, and the technician, Matt, called me when he was 30 minutes out. Matt arrived promptly and was courteous, professional, and efficient. He put shoe covers on his shoes before stepping into my unit, which was very polite and a nice touch. He explained the process as he went. He is extremely knowledgeable about pest control and stays up to date on the latest research and podcasts on the subject. I felt at ease thanks to Matt's knowledge and kind professionalism. Matt inspected the areas where I've noticed activity, and he sprayed those areas thoroughly but with the minimum amount of chemicals necessary. I had wanted to douse my entire unit, but Matt explained the pros and cons of that approach, so I appreciate the more moderate direction we took. He also placed traps in high activity areas. Matt then explained the payment process and recommended a follow-up in 14-21 days. I have never had a pest control company include free follow-ups, and I feel 100% at ease knowing they are coming back to check on the situation. I have been a customer since 8/23/23; having found them on Yelp. We had a man out and all he did was put black traps down, walked around my house and billed me $165.00. I called back and told the representative that our cat killed another mouse and also mentioned I am not happy with the service. They suggested I have someone out which I did 2/5/2024 and same deal put the black boxes down and that is all. Both trips done in 30 mins or less. Then I agreed to give them another chance and they did a quarterly checkup and they did the same thing and charged me $95.00. I recently opened the one small black box in the kitchen and found the poison had plastic around it and none of the traps caught anything.. So I called in again and they were to send a man about between 12-2 4/10/24 only to receive all call that he was running late and would be at our at 3. Well 3 comes and goes and I called him and suggested we can do it Thursday 4/11/24 in the 12-2 slot. On 4/11/24 I get a call at 10 and he is "available now" and wants to come over . I suggested at 12 as we had people still asleep. Well 12 came and went and I called the office and they tell me it is 12-2 and that is not what the tech and I talked about. Suffice it to say I have had it with this company. This has been a half-baked pile of worms from the git go and I even asked the techs do I have mice infestation and was told twice NO. I have no confidence in them and find others actually guarantee their work and don't just take your money and split. If feel totally ripped off. read more

We have used Pest Now (and the company that preceded it) for over 15 years. Until recently they were a good local company: reasonably priced, honest, and effective. In our last interactions with them, however, they have been aggressively trying to get more of our money. They insisted we pay more for their termite warranty than what we were actually billed. When they inspected our attic, they recommended spending several thousand dollars to remove all our insulation and replace it with theirs. Less important (but still a sign of how they view their long-time customers): they used to ask for payment after work was done, but now have wanted us to provide payment info beforehand. The technicians still seem trustworthy, but the company's new approach to their customers is disheartening. Pest Now was recently bought by a private equity firm, which could be why they are trying to squeeze us for more cash using questionable tactics. We're considering switching to another, more trustworthy pest control company. read more

In April I moved into my new home and found out that I had a squirrel problem in the attic. I requested to have them come out for a free quote and inspection of my home. The technician came to my home, walked around, and stated that I needed to have one of their "wildlife technicians" come to my home to get on the roof to inspect for entrance and exit locations the squirrels may be using. After paying almost $900, they came out, walked around my home again, and stated that they "thought" the squirrel was getting in in a couple different locations. When asked if they could go to the roof to make sure there weren't any other big issue areas he responded with "that would require us to put on a harness." In my opinion, that is what I paid them to do. So every day for the next few months they came over once a day and checked the trap they left in the attic. The first time before setting the trap I was asked if I had any peanut butter they could use to put in the trap. After a few weeks of stopping by at a different time every day, they caught one and considered the issue resolved. The next day I heard more movement in my attic and above my garage. They came back, same process. They caught another, and somehow managed to let him out of the cage while still in my attic. Another couple of weeks go by and I notice that there are holes around the outside of my home. Some are more noticeable than others. When I asked the technicians about it they responded casually with "I don't know how I missed that." The lack of thoroughness and casual approach to the issue was unbelievable. They then proceeded to cover one of the holes with multiple screws and a mesh cage fencing over the hole. No patching or covering the hole, just a wire cover. I called to cancel and requested a refund for a failure to resolve the issue and the damages my home incurred due to the lack of an effective strategy and was told that I was lucky I got the service for the price that I did. I had them come back and time after time, they would go up in the attic, see that the peanut butter was gone and the trap had not been triggered, and say "I'll check again tomorrow." I get that there is a lot of uncertainty and variables that go into this type of thing. But the lack of effort, laziness, and unprofessionalism displayed was out of this world. Over the last week I have heard more noises in more parts of my house, and the hole that was not covered and "missed" upon the detailed inspection has now caused water damage to my home. I called again today to attempt to be refunded and ask for some sort of compensation for the damages as I would like to try another service to resolve this issue. I was yelled at and told that half of what I paid would be refunded, but no damages would be covered. I was told that they were trying to "help me out because corporate would never approve any refund or damages." Long story short, it was a terrible experience to move into a new home and have this, 6 months later, still be an ongoing and worsening issue. To receive such customer service and pay for a job to be done, for this to happen is absurd. I would be cautious in hiring this company if you have any problems that may be considered "difficult" as they will take the easiest way around the problem to attempt to temporarily fix it. Now I have to find another company to do the job right and fix the damages caused by their negligence. Will never use this company again. Unbelievable. read more

I have been a customer of PestNow for over two years, receiving their quarterly pest prevention services. After my latest service I raised 4 specific complaints to their customer service team and continued discussions over email with their VP of Operations, Rusty Markland. My concerns were: 1) I received an email confirming my next appointment date. Yet their technician arrived on an earlier date without any prior notice. 2) After receiving my quarterly service during this unannounced visit from PestNow, I was invoiced for a higher amount than previous services. I was never informed of any pricing changes, they simply invoiced me for the higher amount without any notice. 3) After calling in to customer service for clarification on the two issues above, I was given zero answers and was simply instructed to pay the invoice. This was when discussions with the VPO, Mr. Markland began. 4) Their pest control services have been entirely ineffective at my property thus far, so due to the price increase I inquired about what additional services I would be receiving for the added costs. After making these complaints clear to VPO Markland, I communicated I was open to solutions to rectify the issues and continue my services with PestNow. Markland did not provide any solutions to the 4 complaints I raised and responded over email indicating any prior warranties I had already paid for were canceled and I quote, "Your account is canceled, and you are not eligible for renewal." Putting the wildly unhelpful customer service team and beyond unprofessional communications from their VP of Operations to the side... Their services are broadly ineffective against local pests, and when you raise issues to them they respond with hostility. Avoid this company at all costs! read more

But close to summer, they sent a skinny young guy who tried to sell us some additional services. He totally misinformed us and despite he said we need to pay one time , they keep sending invoices. I know I signed the paperwork but it was long and I trusted them since we had been working almost 2 years. I called the office to let them know and they may help. I paid 2 or 3 times but they kept sending every month. Office was very ignorant and only cares for money. Now they sent me to collection for 2 last unpaid invoices. I'm moving to the area and wanted my water tested prior to closing. A termite inspection was also on the punch list of things needed to be completed. Pest Now was the company chosen based on a recommendation to my realtor. It seems like a conflict of interest for lack of a better term... testing for bugs/rodents and then on the other end of the spectrum, testing the water. Ruh-roh! They came out and completed both tasks. I haven't seen the termite/pest report, so I won't speak to that. However, I want to address the water test. The water was tested in a community that has no issues. They found e-coli and chloroform in the water. The Clear Water Environmental organization was then brought in to weigh in their thoughts, as that is a pretty serious and damaging outcome from a water test. test. Another company was then brought in to run the test. Remember this is water from a community that has had no issues and the water is tested daily. Results were negative for e-chili and chloroform. When we called Pest Now, to discuss the results of the test, we were told it may not have been a clean sample. Oh REALLY?!? So then we asked for a discount, (you all but just admitted fault) and were denied. Just to recap; we were asking for a discount on a bad test! My immediate thought was, the "tester" either didn't wipe around the faucet, before running the water a bit and them taking a sample, or he didn't wipe his butt. You decide. Fine. You are denying a realtor a "discount" who has the potential to use you over, and over and over again. To refer you or possibly refer others over and above you. We have used PestNow for almost five years. About a year ago, we noticed signs of a mouse in a part of our basement. PestNow was responsive and put bait traps. Every couple of months, there would be another dead mouse to remove. We were interested in a more complete solution to seal the likely entry points and asked for a complete inspection. The inspector came promptly in the last few days. Unfortunately, we found him quite unpleasant and full of himself. He insisted on his tremendous experience to say we should just leave things the way they were. We were not satisfied with that response. In the past, we have found technicians quite pleasant and the service was always prompt when we called to request a visit because of ants, spiders, centipedes, silverfish, etc. The office staff is superb and attentive in scheduling and answering customer calls. But the company's level of service doesn't work for our current needs. So we will change to an alternative provider. PestNow happens to be the cheapest pest control company in the area, so we will pay more. But we need to do that to get better value. read more

Had them for 4 years and the quality of service has dropped. Customer service is friendly and prompt, but that doesn't undo the damage. Techs were not refilling the rat traps - the outside trap disappeared and was never replaced, one crawlspace trap was never refilled (I can tell because grass had grown up blocking it) and half the time they filled the one remaining crawlspace trap, they left the door open for vermin to come and go as they pleased. The rats are established in the walls of the house and have done serious damage to wiring and appliances. Pest Now solution is to come visit and charge me yet again. read more
