Since we did not know enough to evaluate the proposal he provided after his review, we talked with someone we knew who was volunteering with a climate advocacy group in this area. He suggested we contact Mohammed at Home Energy Solutions for an energy audit. We did so and were able to schedule it very quickly with Mohammed spending a great deal of time doing a thorough inspection of our three attics and our many windows and doors. We were surprised at just how bad the situation was in general air leakage, in the ductwork, and in the insulation over one part of our house where, from the pictures Mohammed took, it looked like a raccoon had gotten into the attic and torn up the insulation. When Mohammed sent us a contract to fully insulate our three attics, removing the insulation in parts, sealing the edges and around lights, and more, and we had a ton of questions, he promptly responded with clarifying information and willingness to adjust the work and add on caulking our windows and weatherstripping a door and more. Also, the price was most reasonable -- significantly less than the other company with more items included. He then scheduled the work at our convenience and his team of three, led by Eric, arrived promptly at 8 AM and worked hard until 5:30 pm. In the 53 years we have been in the house we have done about five major remodeling jobs/additions, and a whole bunch more of minor improvements. We have been very happy with most of the firms and workers, and a couple less so. Of all the crews that have worked in our home, Eric and his team were outstanding in every way -- so helpful, courteous, hardworking, quiet, neat, patient in answering questions, and so much more!!! They cleaned up afterwards and it was great to wake up this morning and feel the notable difference in the especially leaky part of the house. We cannot say enough good things about HESS -- Mohammed, Eric and the other technicians!!! And, we are looking forward to significantly lower energy costs. From the energy audit and consultation (Matt), to the removal and re-installation of attic insulation, crawlspace encapsulation and dehumidifier installation (Dylan & crew), things have performed as expected over a year later. No more humidity, no more overworked HVAC, and no more mud pit under the house. I am writing this review because I had an issue with the dehumidifier that was installed (throwing an error code). I called on a Monday before a holiday and explained the situation. Comfenergy had someone (Ariel) out by Friday to diagnose. He fixed the issue, offered amazing advice, answered all of my questions, and even performed an inspection of their previous work (going as far to spot repair a few places that had weakened due to settling). This kind of customer service, over one year after performing their work, made me feel a whole lot better over such a major investment and project for my home. After supplying Hal the items needed he finished and gave me an estimate. Afterwards I had several questions and tried to reach Pride Insulation. I left several voice mail and email messages. No response. Finally, I left a deserved review on Yelp and quickly received a call from Hal (Pride Insulation). Hal said that this review would hurt their business and asked if there was anything he could do to help the situation. I explained that I had called and sent email and had no response. And if this is how they treat a potential customer image what kind of response you would get if there were problems once the job was finished. Hal agreed to work and correct the problems. We agreed for him to do the work on Monday February 27, 2017. I paid him 50% after he argued that he usually gets 100% of the money up front! Hal then said he would call me the next day to set up the insulation install. So I waited all day Tuesday. All day Wednesday. All day Thursday. No call. Tonight, Thursday evening I called Hal and canceled any insulation install and requested a refund of the deposit. Be careful doing business with any insulation company that: (1) Arrives late with no call. (2) Doesn't have a ladder. (3) Needs to borrow a flashlight. (4) Won't return phone calls or email. (5) Asks for 100% deposit. (6) Doesn't do what they say they will do.

They worked around us getting our HVAC and duct work completed, even with delays they were able to switch the schedule around. Other than that, the contractors that came out knew exactly what we wanted done, there was no miscommunication, we didn't need to repeat ourselves and they gave us regular updates to ensure everything was completed correctly. Wesley showed up, checked everything out, found the problem and quickly addressed it. He told me whomever had been doing the previous maintenance had been doing a poor job. He showed me what he cleaned out of the HVAC service panel outside by the compressor. It clearly had not been cleaned out for years. When I agreed, he emails me back the following day to cancel because I had previously hired another provider due to Budget reasons. I find it disappointing that service would be refused based on my past decision to explore other options. This approach doesn't reflect the level of customer care I would expect.
