A completely unprofessional company. Getting them to show up at all is a chore, and when they do, they have "equipment malfunctions" that keep them from doing any work. Out of 5 days of spray foam work, they only did real work once. Also, they almost killed our cat by using the wrong foam, despite telling them he would be home. Luckily they had an equipment malfunction. We're two weeks into a 3 day job with no end in sight, and no insulation on our house. read more

I called Pride Insulation to give me an estimate on adding insulation to my home. Hal called and gave me a time and date for the estimate. Warning sign #1 - Hal arrived 20 minutes late but I thought oh well things happen. Warning sign #2 - When I showed him where the attic hatch was he informed me he didn't have a ladder and asked if I had one he could use. Warning sign #3 - Hal then informed me that the light on his phone wasn't working well and asked if I had a flashlight he could borrow. After supplying Hal the items needed he finished and gave me an estimate. Afterwards I had several questions and tried to reach Pride Insulation. I left several voice mail and email messages. No response. Finally, I left a deserved review on Yelp and quickly received a call from Hal (Pride Insulation). Hal said that this review would hurt their business and asked if there was anything he could do to help the situation. I explained that I had called and sent email and had no response. And if this is how they treat a potential customer image what kind of response you would get if there were problems once the job was finished. Hal agreed to work and correct the problems. We agreed for him to do the work on Monday February 27, 2017. I paid him 50% after he argued that he usually gets 100% of the money up front! Hal then said he would call me the next day to set up the insulation install. So I waited all day Tuesday. All day Wednesday. All day Thursday. No call. Tonight, Thursday evening I called Hal and canceled any insulation install and requested a refund of the deposit. Be careful doing business with any insulation company that: (1) Arrives late with no call. (2) Doesn't have a ladder. (3) Needs to borrow a flashlight. (4) Won't return phone calls or email. (5) Asks for 100% deposit. (6) Doesn't do what they say they will do. read more

A friend of mine recommended me to them, it turns out i was actually wasting a lot of heart since my old insulation was pretty bad. honestly i really don't know much about insulation but Jeff ( i believe that was his name ) explained to me that without proper insulation i was basically letting money slip away. i have looked at other insulation before but none of them really match the prices that pride was offering. also they did it really fast too. i had a friend who worked for a bigger company that installs insulation and he did a run through after they left and he was amazed on how well they did. the people installing it were very fast, courteous, and pretty cool. they came in did what they had to do, ran through everything again after they were finish. also they even cleaned up the little bits and piece of insulation for us too. they earned themselves a 5 stars for sure couldnt have ask for a better company to do my insulation. read more

My attic insulation was ancient, hole filled, mice, and even bird infested and had to be replaced. Pride Insulation fixed all of those issues at an affordable price. While researching insulation contractors, each talked about what they could do, the cost, and "how great" their work would be. Only Pride came and did a throughout evaluation and offered one of least expensive options. Pride came when they said they would, albeit a little late. They made up for it by removing the old insulation, replacing it with a high R49 rating, and added the air seal that seemed to almost immediately warm the house - all in about 3 hours. Really important, they laid plastic down to reduce dust and swept after, cleaning as they when along. read more

We had moved into a new house and had called in Pride to remove the old insulation that was there (both blown in and some batts) and to install the blown-in insulation. Since I have asthma, they promised they would be careful and not create mess. However, they completely failed to do that; leaving a big mess behind. In addition, we found ourselves constantly vaccuming up the insulation ( falling down through all the recess lights), because they didn't seal the recess lights. After struggling with breathing issues from the insulation dust, we decided to remove the insulation and put in batts. When the new attic insulation company went up to remove the insulation, they found that Pride had never fully finished removing the old insulation (both the blown in kind and some batts). Therefore, it took several hours longer for them to finish the work. On the contrast; the way the new insulation company removed the blown in insulation left us speechless... they were meticuous in their work, and had virtually no dust. All that mess could have been totally prevented. I had contacted Pride to give us some money back, since what they did was unethical. I have not heard back from them. read more

To start off, I knew very little of the problem I was having. My house was not holding cool air in the summer, or warm in the winter. After many frustrating attempts to find a solution I decided to insulate the house. I wish I had known about this company sooner because it would have save me money a lot earlier. They were very professional and seemed knowledgeable. Them knowing what they are doing saved me a headache because I had no idea how or what was involved in the process. I've used Pride insulation on several occasions as a house flipper and they have hit a home run on every home I've ever remodeled to sale. I've actually had compliments at time of home inspection, on how great the attic looked after they installed insulation. The have completed the last 5 insulation removal and replacements for me. The last one in Sterling, they dealt with raccoons and the terrible mess they left behind. They also sealed up holes in the attic so the critters couldn't return and ruin the new insulation they installed. The homes in Springfield and Burke both needed extra attention as well, because mice had left it so infested that all the insulation was removed, sprayed for bugs and disinfected. The next day they returned to vacuum it all out and sprayed in new insulation. They've also done two homes in Vienna for me as well and did great work. I figured it was a good time to give them some recognition since I'm often times paying them and leaving the project before they're done and can compliment their work. As far as price, I tested them against other bids on the first and last projects I've had them on and they beat their competitors hands down. As long as the great price and service doesn't change, then I'll continue to use and recommend them. read more

Found this company off of Angie's List last February. My experience with this company still compels me to share it to warn others even though I'm posting a little late. I'm relaying the "play by play" details so it is long, but I only wish I was making this up! Here goes: Sat. 2/11 Appointment paid for and scheduled for between 8-9am.   9:15am Called Hao (owner) and asked status of his crew. Said they left half an hour ago. There office is 30 minutes from my home   11:00am Crew arrives. They look at the job to be done and say they're not going to be able to finish because they have to leave at 4pm.  Came 2 hrs. late and left before the job finished. To top that, their stupid truck needed a jump for a dead battery! Say they will come back Monday at 5pm.   Mon. 2/13  5pm 'Hong' (crew lead) arrives. No truck to blow in insulation!  He drilled holes in walls in unfinished room and that's all. I firmly stated that I do not have the time to drag this out.  Have plans to leave town (sick parent out of state) the following weekend (2/18-2/20).  Need job done yesterday!  Told him to come back Tues 2/14 with the truck and finish the job.  Hong says he will come.   Tue. 2/14 Hong no-shows!  I call Hao and tell him his crew no-showed. Says this is first time he's hearing they did not finish the job on Saturday.  Really!?!  Said he would have to talk to his crew the next morning and would call me at 7am from his office so we can reschedule.   Wed. 2/15 When I did not hear from Hao by 7:30 am Wed 2/15, I called to find out why they no-showed. I got no real explanation. Insisted I need to get this job completed ASAP!  Should only have taken 1 day and I've already wasted half a week. Hao wants to r/s for Sat 2/18. Told him I'm going out of town, but decided to take earliest appointment on Sat. and postpone my departure after the job's done.  Make appointment with Hao for second time for Sat bet 9-10am.  He assured me his people would be there.   Sat. 2/18 Pride Insulation NO-SHOWS AGAIN!  I call Hao and tell him his people did not come.  He assured me I was first job of the day.  He calls his crew and calls me back to tell me they went to another job first instead of mine.  At this point, I'm ready to cancel the rest of the job and ask for a refund of my money for my unfinished living room with holes in the walls and no insulation!  Hao pleads for another chance to finish the job. It's clear he does not want to refund my money.  I finally agree to one last appointment on Monday 2/20 afternoon after I get back into town.  Hao promised he would refund me if they did not show up, even if he had to do the job himself   Mon. 2/20 The crew arrives on time, starts to set things up and then realizes they do not have the piece of the hose needed to actually blow the insulation into the wall!  Worker says has to drive all the way back to the office to get it and come back. This is a waste of at least 1.5 hours and blows yet another day on this job.  Now, I've reached my absolute limit!!  I don't want any more to do with this company and want them to leave and I want my money back for the unfinished portion of the job. It is not so much about the money, but the aggravation is just too much.  I call Hao and tell him what's going on- again!  After a lot of back and forth over the phone, Hao agrees to refund me a small portion of the cost of the last room if I let his crew finish the job.  Reluctantly, I agreed.  By now, it is not even about the money. I just want to be rid of these guys FOREVER! When his crew returned with the part, I let them finish the job, finally.    Fri. 3/3 Two weeks pass and no refund credit has shown up on my credit card.  Wearily, I call Hao one last time. He says the credit probably did not go through because the transaction was more than 30 days ago. (Whatever!)  He offered to give me the refund that day since he is on the road and can stop by my house to drop it off.  Hao arrived with a check. I don't want a check, but I also do want to ever see him again so I take and deposit immediately. Before I say it, I'm betting you already know how this ends.  That check bounced like a rubber ball!   All I can say is let the buyer beware when you do business with this company. I know I was not on my A-game at this time because of more important family business, but NO customer deserves to be treated this way. Sure, their prices are competitive, but you could end up paying too high of a price in lost time and aggravation in the end. Pretty safe to say, this company is the first and probably last Angie's list recommendation for me. read more

Had a fantastic experience with The folks at Pride Insulation. I had a quote from a company that you see advertise on TV that I could not afford, but with mice in the attic and my son's asthma something had to be done. I found that I could save thousands of dollars for the same services through pride. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and clearly explained everything that needed to be done. Their workers had an incredible work ethic, and one of them even volunteered to help me with unloading boxes from a moving truck and wouldn't even accept a tip after the help. Once all of the old / soiled insulation was removed from the attic and sanitized they let me inspect the attic and I was amazed at how clean it was and how thoroughly they sealed every possible crack or seem. They installed a nice insulation that is specially treated to prevent the mice from coming back and I feel so much better knowing that the house will have better air quality with the mice out and lower heating bills as I tripled the efficiency of the insulation that I had before they came. read more

Last year Pride Insulation insulated 1/2 our house. It was the area above 4 bedrooms, a long hallway and a full bathroom. Our house is over 40 years old and they spent hours vacuuming out all the dirty, dusty, blown in insulation. They then disinfected the whole attic and sealed all areas with foam. My husband went up to see the attic after this and said that you could have eaten off the floors, it was so clean!! Then they blew in so much insulation - they had installed wooden rulers throughout the area so that they could check the depth of the insulation. It was incredible! They were so polite and friendly, and cleaned up so thoroughly after they had finished that they even vacuumed a little insulation that had fallen onto one flower bed. They also installed insulation onto the access panel to the attic, and installed batting around the panel so that the blown in insulation would not fall through when you opened the panel. I cannot emphasize how impressed my husband and I are with this company. It is a family business and the father is so sweet. His english is hard to understand but he told me he would not be happy until he had finished the rest of the house. We have cathedral ceilings over the living room, entrance way and family room, and the kitchen and 1/2 bath also needed insulating. He told me to call him when the weather cooled down so that he could crawl over the rafters. This job was done in the summer, when winter came the difference of temperature in the bedrooms was amazing. They were so warm!! We called the company last week - this is now over one year after they had done the first job - and they came out today to finish the rest of the house. They honored the ridiculously low price their dad had quoted me last year. The dad told me that the batting on some of the knee walls was old and needed replacing. They included this extra work in the same price. They just finished and again cleaned up every scrap of insulation that had dropped onto the driveway and the garage, where the access panel is for that half of the house. My husband went into the attic to check it out and said that the insulation over the half bath is about 20 inches over the rafters. You cannot see any of the roof rafters the insulation is so deep. This company does perfect work. They are friendly, polite and their price was lower than we had ever expected to pay. I highly recommend them!!! read more

I generally do not write Yelp reviews but this company deserved every bit of my time and thoughts on their work. I had a severe insulation issue in my household that needed to be looked at and fixed. I inspected my attic and found out that the insulation was running about two inches thick from the surface and was providing no heat conservation and was leaving my house extremely cold as if wind was seeping through like I had no walls. I called various insulation companies around the DMV area such as Confenergy, Northern Virginia Insulation, and Capital Insulation LLC but none were as quick and responsive as Pride Insulation in setting up a time and date to inspect my household. I spoke to a gentlemen named Hao who was very informative and experienced with his job in knowing what needed to be done to fix my situation. Every inch of my attic was inspected and observed to determine it's layout and start focusing on troubleshooting my issue. Within about a week Hao's men came to start installing the insulation and gave me about a two to three hour time frame on the job. They were kind enough to lay plastic on household floors as well as stairs and any other areas around the entrance to the attic just in case any mess or dirt were to form. After they finished their work they offered to let me see the new and improved attic insulation and was completely impressed with their work. I know insulation jobs are a majority plug and play type of job but I could tell within those few hours everything was distributed nicely for not only customer satisfaction but as well as upholding their company standards. Immediately after they cleared the plastic areas, swept my floors of an debris and made sure things were kept clean. I highly do recommend Pride Insulation in installing any insulation that is needed within your household. They not only do that but are also able to caulk any cracks around window seals, install insulation within walls (besides attics), install clear seals on floor trims attached to the walls, etc, etc. Their service is high quality and their workers are nothing but friendly employees looking to get the job done.
