I can't review the quality of their work, but I can review their very poor communication and planning. They were initially very responsive when I reached out, and offered to come give me a free estimate. We scheduled a day and time, and then that day and time came and went. I reached out to ask if they were still coming and only then did they say they were running late, but would be able to come in about an hour. I pushed back my plans... But then they said they couldn't come at all. They didn't offer another day or time. I was hesitant to even bother, but I provided a few other options, and we rescheduled for the following day at 3:00. It's now 4:15 and they haven't come, nor have they reached out to let me know that they won't be bothering. Bottom line: I don't want to give my business to a company that has no respect for their potential customer's time. I wouldn't be able to trust that they would show up to perform the job. Don't offer to give free estimates and don't offer to schedule times with potential customers if you can't follow through with them - it just makes your business look bad. read more

We had a Fairfax County inspection and were facing possible litigation over a shower. Saul and his crew fixed the 'reported' installation within three days. Finally, the County inspector examined the shower and it passed with flying colors. I want to start by saying that while we did not go with this company for the work we wanted done on our house, we still wanted to give a review. Saul was prompt with his response and said he could come on Sunday before 2:30. I was thrilled that someone could come out on the weekend. I asked for a narrower time frame, but he never responded. I was a little annoyed, but it was no real big deal. Sunday morning, Saul sent a message and asked if he could come after 6:30 PM. I reminded him that he agreed to come before 2:30 as we had a family function. He agreed and was on time. When Saul arrived, I showed him around the house and the projects we wanted done. We went down to the basement, and I showed him the circuit breaker box, which we want a new cover for. He commented that this is a new breaker box (which we knew because we paid for it to be put in). He asked how much we paid an electrician to put it in and then commented that he could have done it for a fraction of the price. Saul then went on and said that one way he could have saved us money was not having an inspector come out and look at it when it's done. While we do appreciate Saul trying to save us money, this definitely left a bad taste in my mouth and then my husband's when I told him about it. The inspections are there for a reason, and where we live, it is a county inspection. If something were to go wrong with a project like that, it could potentially cause the house to burn down, or if we decided to sell our house and it's discovered that the breaker box wasn't inspected, we would be left holding the bag. Like I said, this wasn't the project we were hiring Saul for, just an off-hand comment he made, but it did make us wonder if there were any other shortcuts this company would make in order to cut costs. I do appreciate that Saul is trying to keep costs down for customers, but there is a line. For this reason, and how he reacted to some previous negative reviews here on Yelp, we decided to go with someone else. read more

Molina's submitted a very competitive quote to renovate my master bath. The job included replacement of the tub, replacement and upgrade of the plumbing and tub/shower fixtures, removal of all existing old tile, replacing it with new floor and wall tile, replacement of the old vanity with a new custom Black Walnut vanity (by Goose Woodworking), installation of a new faucet in the granite countertop, a lot of plumbing replacement and some electrical work, finally installation of a new glass tub shower door. Throughout the job Saul led his team to do the work quickly and with excellent attention to detail. The job was 75% done when we had a hitch with the custom vanity, (my fault). This delayed the last part of the job for a month. Saul promised to come back and finish the job when the new vanity was received. When the Goose Wordworking vanity came it was perfect, Saul and team promptly returned and did the balance of the work, also doing several detail checklist requests I made note of during the down month. All in all, the job was 100% of what I wanted, Saul and the team were prompt and worked fast and well. The few inevitable problems that came up were solved expertly and quickly. I have no complaints at all, will definitely have Molina's on my short list for future projects. Highly recommended! read more

Saul was very friendly and his crew was extremely cordial. My main complaint is regarding Saul's either poor or shady estimating practice. We hired them to remove the popcorn ceilings in 4 bedrooms, one family room, and paint a foyer/hallway. I knew we'd be in trouble when on the first day, Saul started complaining that it was "more work than he'd planned." He stated that it would be 3 days, and in no way did we understand that 3 days actually meant 6 since a day was required in between each day to allow the new mud to dry. On day 7, while I was out of town, Saul tried to say that he couldn't do the final room (the main family room) without it being another THOUSAND dollars. I asked why, and he said the ceilings were too much work and he was going to lose money. Hmmm. Sounds like an estimating problem. (I understand sometimes unexpected things come up in a remodel, but this was simply his inability to understand what the job was). But, he played it well and since we needed him to do the final room, we negotiated a middle ground. Honestly, I wish I had just said screw it and found someone else, because the job they did on the last room was not good. The ceilings are uneven, there are major issues on the seams with the wall. I guess this was Saul's way to get me back after balking on the extra thousand dollars. Bottom line, I feel like he planned this. Why else would he wait until the other rooms were all done and then magically need to get more money to start the final (and most prominent) room. They also began to get extremely careless with the mud, leaving stuff for us to clean up on the ceiling fans, furniture, and carpets. Bottom line is that the original estimate was poorly done (best case) or he gave us a low estimate in order to get our business with a plan to add extra costs (worst case-but what I think is true). I won't ever hire these guys again. read more

This company responded the same day to look at the job and sounded like a real go getter. He took pictures and left saying I would be getting an estimate in a few days. After 3to 4 days I heard nothing so I called back and again he was very upbeat and said he was working on it. After a few more days I hired another contractor who responded the same day took pictures and came back to get some measurements and has promised to get started right away. read more

This is a really good company. They responded quickly to my request for assistance with the electrical connection for a new hot tub - they even came on a Saturday. They gave me a reasonable price quote, and stuck to the quote even though the work took longer than anticipated. They did a great job, and cleaned up thoroughly after the work was done. My pet peeve is contractors who come in and leave you with a mess to clean up when they've left. After Molina left, there was not a thing for us to do but enjoy the new hot tub! read more
