I am beyond satisfied with Fairfax Insulation Systems (and very surprised by the few negative reviews on Yelp). Everyone I met was wearing a mask and respecting the distance guidelines. Let me start by saying that I had an energy audit done and my house was leaking warm air/letting cold air enter all over the place. The day after they completed the insulation in the attic, my thermostat indicated the living area was at 72 degrees while I had initially set it up to 68. A full 4 degrees warmer! Will came to inspect the premises and answered all of my questions. As soon as he went back to his car to prepare the quote, I was 95% sure I would choose Fairfax Insulation Systems for my project. 15 minutes later he came back with a detailed, itemized quote. I explained I was waiting for a second quote (which I received 2 weeks later). In the meantime, he checked in by phone a couple of times without ever pressuring me into making a decision. Once I called him to schedule the work, I was transferred to Julia who was also very courteous and efficient. We were able to schedule for the following week and the workers arrived on-time, worked efficiently and quietly. My home is way warmer during winter and fall and cooler during the warm seasons. Employees are very friendly. They set up my appointment right away and finished the job on time. Called a week in advance for a free estimate, scheduled it before work at 8AM, received a confirmatory call the night before, yet no one arrived or called to update me on delays? Very surprising given that I deferred other appointments to make sure I was available as scheduled. The receptionist on the phone was very pleasant and she, as well as I, was bewildered about the technician's whereabouts (Mike). It gives a bad impression for contracting any work...I hope the technician was not in a bad auto accident but, otherwise, I would have expected an update before I had to call Fairfax Insulation to verify my understanding of the plan for that morning. BTW, it's disrespectful when you disregard others' time. I should've checked the Yelp reviews before entering into a contract with these guys. So, I entered into a contract with Fairfax Insulation Systems to blow foam insulation into the ceiling of my garage. Every winter, the bedroom that sits above the garage was always colder than the rest of the house. On the first day (Friday) they arrived right on time, which was about 8:30AM. They tore down the drywall in the garage ceiling, removed the existing insulation and pumped 3 inches of foam insulation. Everything was going according to plan. I was told by the salesman, Mike that they were supposed to come back again on Saturday morning to do drywall patching, mudding, sanding and paint, but no one called me and no one showed up. I had to call them that morning to request an update. I was upset that they didn't take a moment to give me a quick heads up that they were having trouble finding painters and drywall pros. I spoke with Robert, their Director of Operations about the issue. He explained that they are dependent upon the availability of subcontract painters and drywall pros and that they were experiencing difficulties getting a guy to come in and finish the job. After complaining to management, they sent a guy to take samples of the paint on my garage wall and ceiling and he explained to me there was miscommunication caused by Mike (sales) and that they always take 1-2 days to try to match the paint before returning to perform the drywall repair work. Now, that made more sense to me and I could see why they didn't show up the following day. I only wish that had been properly communicated by their sales representative in an effort to avoid confusion. I can tell you that the quality of the work, from what I've seen thus far appears to be of a very high quality. I wouldn't rely too much on what the sales guys tell you regarding schedule, etc. I recommend speaking with the technicians actually doing the work to get a better feel for what the timetables are. Overall, I've been very pleased with their work and I feel good about keeping our bedroom above the garage warm for this winter. read more

NEVER USE FAIRFAX INSULATION SYSTEMS. We just had insulation removed and spray foam installed by Fairfax Insulation and the entire process was horrible. Not only did they cause thousands of dollars of damage to our house but they installed the insulation against code and against the manufacturer's instructions. The way they left the insulation could have resulted in fire or carbon monoxide poisoning. We had no heat for over 24 hours while we fought with Fairfax Insulation to make it safe. We had multiple people at the company lie to us about all sorts of things and they only agreed to fix the problem after we contacted the manufacturer of the insulation and they told them it was unacceptable and dangerous. This is only the tip of the iceberg that was our experience with Fairfax Insulation Systems, but it can all be summed up by I would never recommend you use this company. read more

I should have read their reviews because they weren't the cheapest but they are the worst! They were suppose to arrive Monday 9/21 btw 8-10 am, got a call they were running late so it between 10-12, That didn't happen so at 2 pm I called to be told that I would have to be rescheduled. Okay no problem, things happen I know it difficult with the workforce having issues. I was rescheduled for Friday the same week btw 8-10 am. Got a call Friday that they were running late new arrival 10-12. They arrived at 1:05 very good workers, and when I notice that they were not pulling out the floor boards from the attic I stopped them to ask why not, they said they weren't told to remove them just to lift and insulate under and over. I specifically asked for removal and paid extra and it was on the proposal. I called the office they said they would finish the job on Monday , they had no way of getting the boards out with the crew they sent. Monday 9:00 am the big truck arrives again in my little townhouse community taking up again the parking lot to all my neighbors homes for a second time.... they came in removed the boards and started to leave. I asked them what about the insulation? They said they were only suppose to remove the boards... Now I am done with Fairfax Insulations Systems... I asked them to total out my bill, Mind you the insulation has not been blown in blown in which is the JOB and he quoted me a price for the blown in insulation as only 600 more dollars so I can take 600 off the total bill, I still don't have insulation but paid $2800 for an attic that is not even insulated. My attic had old insulation that had to be at least 30 years old. It was dirty, a little smelly and most importantly the temperature in my home was very uncomfortable. Fairfax insulation systems came in and removed all my old insulation, sanitized and disinfected the area, and put in new insulation. The change was drastic! The team that came in was very knowledgeable and kept me in the loop throughout the entire process. I recommend this company to anyone looking for a attic upgrade! read more

The worst customer service and communication ever.  They scheduled 2 jobs, set dates and took my money then they didn't show up on the days to do the jobs.  They told me the job was finished and I have the inspector come out and get upset with me fir wasting his time when there was no insulation in the walls. Then they don't refund all of my money.  Terrible company  as terrible customer service.  Hopefully they will not be around for very long.  Be careful if you use them.  I do not recommend it. read more

Fairfax Insulation just completed a job for us and I cannot say enough good things about them. We had a bathroom remodel scheduled and got short notice that our contractor would start in a week, and we had to get the spray foam insulation right after the demo so they could put the walls up without delaying the job. Our spray foam insulation contractor couldn't get us scheduled on such short notice. I contacted every place I could find that did spray foam insulation and Fairfax Insulation came through for us on very short notice. Will came out, was very nice and professional and gave us an estimate and got us on the schedule the day we needed the work done. After the demo, we discovered some problems inside the walls that needed more insulation, both sprayed and batting. Will came back that day, measured everything again and adjusted the estimate. The following day, Pedro and Marbin came and did the spray foam insulation. They were very nice and professional, did a very good job with the spray foam coverage and left the area clean. They had to send someone else to install the batting insulation so they squeezed us into their schedule to have that done. I received a call from Juan Cruz, who would come to install that. By the time he completed his regularly scheduled jobs, it was 6:30pm, but he came out from DC, was very polite and professional, and did an excellent job completing and securing the insulation. We are very happy with all of the people with Fairfax Insulation and would highly recommend them. read more

Let me begin by stating the person we worked with for our estimate was very knowledgeable and professional. We had work done on our attic and afterwards we requested proof that the job was completed correctly (pictures whatever) because we were still experiencing the same temperature issues. When we called the office to request such "Lily" was very rude and condescending. She placed us in touch with the general manager who finally returned our calls after several attempts. He sent someone out who confirmed that there was something missing, which is why we are still experiencing temperature issues. He said he would report back to the general manager and figure out how to rectify the situation. It has been over a week, we have left repeated voicemails with no call backs. If you use this company (or any for that matter) ensure that they do not automatically collect final payment without your written approval that the job was completed to your satisfaction.
