I would give them five stars for their prompt communication setting up the initial appointment, for providing a competitive quote and then answering all my questions about the insulation product they were going to use. I felt my concerns were heard and responded to respectfully, especially by the owner Brian. The crew that did the removal and installation were also punctual, friendly and took good care of my property. Despite working long hours in 100 plus degree conditions. The only reason I dropped a star was because after the dust settled and we were able to access the attic we noted a few things that bothered us. Most of these issues could have been easily addressed if the installation crew had been more communicative with us throughout the process. Instead we had to deal with these issues afterwards which was rather frustrating and took several weeks to resolve and required us to call in other contractors. I would still recommend this company for all the things that they did well. But more and better communication from the work crew would have made this an overall five star experience.

They were professional, thorough, and took the time to explain exactly what they were doing. They removed the old insulation, carefully sealed the necessary areas, and installed new R-60 insulation. Throughout the process, they took photos and videos so I could see the work being completed and understand what had been done. I especially appreciated their attention to detail and the communication throughout the job. They didn't simply come in, complete the work, and leave--they made sure I understood the process and could see the results for myself. Based on my experience, I feel confident that the job was done properly and thoroughly. I would definitely recommend Capital Insulation to anyone considering insulation work for their home.

They're a veteran owned business, and they took very good care of us. Spotted a lot of issues in our attic from previous contractors and remediated them. We've had a lot of contractors over the years and have often been disappointed by the quality of their work. We had the provide insulation in the attic of our house and were told afterwards that they would follow up with us to make sure the other rooms in the house were taken care of. Once they completed the larger more expensive project in the attic they stopped answering my calls, texts, and emails. They had someone come over to the house to check the other rooms had them pull up our floor boards to take a look then never followed up to actually provide the service. I have called both my point of contact and the office multiple times with no response. As a result I am having to go with another company to have the rest of our work done which is extremely unfortunate. I really dont post reviews that often but I just wanted to relay my experience as I use yelp for a lot of my home service projects and rely on honest feedback not just artificially generated positive reviews.

After researching insulation techniques, we decided that the concept of True-R value was the way to go. The True-R value concept is that you need to seal the ceiling/Attic first to gain the True-R value of the insulation you are putting in. Kelvin Insulation, 1) Removed the items we had stored in the attic, 2) Removed the old platform (~600 square feet) used to store the items. They also removed the old attic walkway we built for ease of access, 3) Removed all the old insulation, 4) Sealed the various connection points (to include heating vents, vents, framing connections, etc.), 5) Installed fireproof covers on all the recessed lights, 6) Insulated the attic to an R-49 level with a rigid, batts and blowed-in insulation mix. 7) Built a new storage platform of the same size as the old one and built a new walkway across the attic. 8) Put all our stuff back (more like 1/2 since we use this process to clean out the stored items). Kelvin, the owner, is a knowledgeable, straightforward guy who works with you to get the job done at a very reasonable price. The job took two long days, and they cleaned up after each day. Let me start by saying that I had an energy audit done and my house was leaking warm air/letting cold air enter all over the place. The day after they completed the insulation in the attic, my thermostat indicated the living area was at 72 degrees while I had initially set it up to 68. A full 4 degrees warmer! Will came to inspect the premises and answered all of my questions. As soon as he went back to his car to prepare the quote, I was 95% sure I would choose Fairfax Insulation Systems for my project. 15 minutes later he came back with a detailed, itemized quote. I explained I was waiting for a second quote (which I received 2 weeks later). In the meantime, he checked in by phone a couple of times without ever pressuring me into making a decision. Once I called him to schedule the work, I was transferred to Julia who was also very courteous and efficient. We were able to schedule for the following week and the workers arrived on-time, worked efficiently and quietly. I highly recommend you consider this company for your future insulation projects!
