We have used PestNow for almost five years. About a year ago, we noticed signs of a mouse in a part of our basement. PestNow was responsive and put bait traps. Every couple of months, there would be another dead mouse to remove. We were interested in a more complete solution to seal the likely entry points and asked for a complete inspection. The inspector came promptly in the last few days. Unfortunately, we found him quite unpleasant and full of himself. He insisted on his tremendous experience to say we should just leave things the way they were. We were not satisfied with that response. In the past, we have found technicians quite pleasant and the service was always prompt when we called to request a visit because of ants, spiders, centipedes, silverfish, etc. The office staff is superb and attentive in scheduling and answering customer calls. But the company's level of service doesn't work for our current needs. So we will change to an alternative provider. PestNow happens to be the cheapest pest control company in the area, so we will pay more. But we need to do that to get better value. read more

Had them for 4 years and the quality of service has dropped. Customer service is friendly and prompt, but that doesn't undo the damage. Techs were not refilling the rat traps - the outside trap disappeared and was never replaced, one crawlspace trap was never refilled (I can tell because grass had grown up blocking it) and half the time they filled the one remaining crawlspace trap, they left the door open for vermin to come and go as they pleased. The rats are established in the walls of the house and have done serious damage to wiring and appliances. Pest Now solution is to come visit and charge me yet again. read more

It's all in the name. I didn't have any outside issues that I knew of. The downstairs shower was a party zone for millipedes. Just 2 days later we had ants on our Deck! I called and again they came out I asked if he was going to spray the deck and was told just around the outside of our home was all that was needed. He saw that I was vulnerable and upset and in tears, that was his in to take me for what he could. I am new to VA and called PestNow yesterday for "bugs" in my shower and bath after trying to solve the problem myself. I had a next-day appointment this morning with a friendly technician. He explained I had drain flies and handled the matter in all my bathrooms (just in case). He was patient, explained everything and told me to call them if I have any problems. The price quoted over the phone yesterday was the price I paid today for a first time visit. They booked an 8 am to 11 am time slot and the tech was here at 8:30 am! I would use them again and again. Nothing is stated on account statement prior to receiving a letter from a debt collector. Only indication you might be late on a payment is due date says due "on receipt". AND for $93. Ridiculous. I can't say enough or praise the work that we have received in only two visits from Colin and Pestnow. The previous company we used(rhymes with CrioField) was terrible at best, I honestly feel like we threw away our money for well over a year. There was no communication, the customer service was atrocious,(I asked to speak with a manager numerous times and never received a chance to) and we never knew if they showed up to do the job, but we sure got a bill for "services provided". ANTS. So many damn ants, I've never seen ants like this in my life. In my house, so much that they shorted out an electrical outlet and wireless router. The previous company charged us twice for treatments on top of our quarterly treatment, but there was no change whatsoever. What's more is that they took their sweet time coming out to the house to apply said "treatments" as well. Fed up we canceled our contract. DO NOT USE the company that rhymes with CrioField!!! PestNow is a great company and we are finally in the hands of a responsible and caring company. Customer service is great, and as I said before, Colin is an absolute Godsend. Very down to earth and genuine guy, cares about his work and is knowledgeable in his craft. One. One application of whatever he used and our problem was over, no more ants. I know we can trust PestNow and Colin to handle all of our creepy critter needs and I will be getting the piece of mind and service for a great price. I am surprised to see so many one star reviews. We use the service for insects (silverfish infestation, mosquitoes, spiders, etc.). Working with Adam (technician) has been wonderful as he is thorough and offers really helpful suggestions. We rent a house and initially used two different companies for pests (insects outside/inside) and mosquitoes. After moving in, we quickly realized we had a silverfish infestation. Our POC for the property hired Pest Now (Sterling) for mitigation. I was impressed with their professionalism and ability to keep the silverfish contained. Our situation requires the home owners to mitigate the source of the problem before it can be fully mitigated. We let the contracts run out on our two other pest services and switched everything to Pest Now. We will stick with them for the duration of our time in VA. No complaints! It is unsafe for wildlife and us to constantly put down chemicals in between quarterly sprays. I was willing to soak the backyard to rid it of our mosquito and gnat situation. Adam wisely advised against it. Some ideas shared by Adam to help with mosquitoes: peppermint oil (we have success with Mighty Mint spray), cedar chips, cedar granules, bat boxes, plants that attract dragonflies, and citronella plants (these rarely work for us, but they smell nice). We also found removing old mulch and replacing it with new and using the Mighty Mint spray on our mulch helped keep gnats away. This is incredibly helpful under our kids playset. read more

I have been a customer of Pest Now for two years. We have a major mice problem in our house even though we keep food in air tight containers and wipe everything down daily. Our realtor scheduled a termite inspection and this cost $39, which is significantly less than ~$100 charged by most home inspection companies. Clayton came on time to inspect the house. He was very knowledgable and friendly, offering to explain the details of what he was inspecting and how he made his conclusions. He explained the type of foundation on the house and even offered suggestions on how to seal an exterior wood staircase. Fortunately, no termites were discovered, but based on this experience, I would not hesitate to contact PestNow for any future pest concerns. read more

And then warranty lapses so we do not renew.. 7 months later we pay for a new contract. then we find out that the contract was back dated o cover the 7 months of no coverage. So I paid 100$ for 4 months of warranty coverage. 100$ covers a person walking around the house perimeter or NOT (when they no show) once a year and visually looking for tiny termites. read more

This review is difficult for me to write up as I feel conflicted but I feel everyone who research on companies need to know. This is my first time dealing with the company and it was not pleasant as the technician that was sent out was rude and just ill mannered. We have strict parking protocols. The individual parked right by the curb that is clearly painted yellow which means it is a fire lane. I came out informing the individual that this is a fire lane and to please either move to the residence driveway or the guest parking spot which is literally ten steps away. The technician began to go on a rage saying he's only there for five min (which is a lie) and that I need to go get a job, get a life and continue to belittle in such an aggressive manner that I felt concerned for my safety. I don't like being the bad person however rules are rules and we have to enforce it on our private property. Be careful if you are thinking of employing this company because their employee is not someone you want to be around the property. I did speak to the manager and a very nice gentleman however their choice of employee does not make up for anything. read more

My experience was good. After moving into a new home, I set up service with Pest Now and they came within two weeks. The tech was very friendly, service was swift, and I have not seen any bugs in the home except for the occasional fly or fruit flies that come in from outside. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that I wasn't told in advance that if Pest Now sprayed in the home that I would need to vacate for 30 minutes and that was inconvenient because I was working. The tech, however, sprayed outside and then was able to come back hours later during my lunch period so that I could leave to get lunch and kill time. Being able to come back the same day to ensure the job got done meant a lot to me and I'm pleased with Pest Now overall. At this point, I definitely recommend Pest Now and intend to stay with them. *As a heads up, Yelp erroneously created a duplicate account for me with this same review below (has me living in CA) when I initially couldn't remember my password. read more

I do not normally write Yelp reviews but wanted to give a warning to others regarding misleading "statements" they may receive from PestNow even if they do not utilize their services. We recently moved into a new home and the previous homeowners were customers of PestNow. We are NOT customers of PestNow but continue to receive letters labeled "statement enclosed" that are clear attempts to pose as bills for services rendered. The "statements" include invoice dates, amount due and property "serviced" (again, implying that services were rendered). The "statement" also states "Your home has been treated and/or inspected by PestNow...Paying the renewal amount will avoid any disruption to your service..". Seems very misleading that they are referencing services rendered to a previous resident as a means of soliciting business from a new customer. A better approach would have gone something like "Welcome to the neighborhood! We've previously serviced your property and would love to keep your business!" read more

Used Pest Now for Pest Service with good results so I tried them for lawn service. After calling them about poor performance and getting no satisfaction from the telephone support I canceled. I will have to resod next season. The roots of my grass blow away like a bad toupee in the wind. read more

We have decided to go with this company based on the reviews on YELP. They started working on my house back in 12/22. Now, this has been more than 6 months with no improvements. They keep charging and visiting the house and the mice are still there. We have changed the sidings, framing, and many more thing. However, they seem to be incompetent to exterminate them. Called them to get a quote on removing a hornet's nest and between a very confrontational and rude receptionist and then whoever she finally put me through that was less confrontational, but not very knowledgeable, seems I knew more about the hornets than he did, I don't think I'd call them again. .If I could give them a negative I would. You do not want to have any interaction with this company. Their technician parked illegally and blocked my car in on a public road. When I asked him politely when he was standing outside his truck, to move the vehicle, he refused. He then asked why he should move. I stated that he was parked illegally and in addition was blocking my vehicle. He continued to refuse. If he had moved when I asked, he could have parked in the spot I was vacating. Then I told him I was going to report him to his employer, and got in my car to make the call. He then came to the driver side window and took my picture several times, trying to intimidate me. When he saw I was on the phone he moved his vehicle and sped off. I then moved away from the area and parked so that I could continue the call with his supervisor. The technician returned and parked in the spot I had vacated though his truck did not fit. The technician them walked down the street and blocked my car in. Again, he came up to the driver's side window, flashing is phone at me. When I started to move my car he moved and stood inches from my front bumper to prevent me from getting away from him. I asked him to move. His aggressive actions caused me concern. He then yelled at me that he was not going to move and he was going to call the police. Next, he called the police to report that I threatened him by using foul language, a total fabrication. Never did I use any foul language nor did I threaten him. He then told the police, while on his phone, he was standing in front of my car blocking me in and they told him he had to move. This call was all on speaker phone and he repeatedly told me he was recording me. Yes, he was legally allowed to record me. It was done to threaten and intimidate me. I then tried to complete my call with his employer and noticed he had taken off his company uniforms and was standing outside my passenger side window staring at me. His truck was still parked down the road, away from me. I told his supervisor he may want to call the technician and instruct him to move away from me. I was immediately put on hold; the technician was then answering his phone and while talking on his phone quickly walked away. Next the police showed up and insisted on speaking to the technician first. After a less than 5 minutes the police officer came to talk to me. Per the police officer, I had threatened him and that he had not blocked me in, again completely false. Later I was informed by the police supervisor, the technician claimed he was three feet in front of my car to take a picture of my license plate and had never blocked me in, again a fabrication and he lied to the police. When I followed up with his company, they said I was a racist and the technician did nothing wrong. The employer said the police officer agreed that I was a racist and that a "neighbor" also said I was a racist. There was no other individual present during this exchange. The lady who came walking up the street after the police were called and the technician was told to move away from my car was the only person who was present. She was not present for any of the exchanges or a witness to the technician stalking me when I separated myself from the area, though after the police arrived, she walked over and talked to the technician for more than 15 minutes without the police present. This technician was not able to control his temper. In my opinion, the next time he may accelerate the situation even more. This is not someone I think you want at your home or business. Note that the technician repeatedly told me everything was being videoed but the employer said they were not interested in viewing the evidence. The fact that the employer justified the employee actions indicates how the company deals with these situations. Note that I never got out of my car from the time I first called his employer until the police appeared, yet he continued to chase/stalk me. Note that the individual answering the phone at the employer's office started recording me after the first minute or so of my call. She stated that though they have received calls from customers to complain this was the first compliant of this type of behavior from a non-customer contact. The supervisor stated they had not had any issues with this technician. When I asked him to confirm there had not been completes like this for this employee, he refused to respond. read more

Before we moved I called Pest Now and scheduled an appointment, asking only 2 questions: 1. should we schedule their visit before the cleaning crew comes 2. can they take care of bumblebees we had swarming in our backyard. I talked to Mike who said that we can definitly schedule them before the cleaning crew, and that they will take care of the bee problem. The service rep arrived on time, and after he treated the house and yard he said that it is a shame we scheduled them before the cleaning crew since it will not be effective after. He also mentioned they do not take care of bees/bumblebees. When I mentioned Mike's promise over the phone he just said "they lie". So no, I'm not happy, and the problems did not go away. We have been working with PestNow for close to a decade with quarterly service. They and their technicians are terrific. Recently, we found racoons in the attic. They did an inspection to find that 5 decade-old insulation needed to be replaced. They came and did a great job. Professional, patient, and thoughtful--JC and Gerald were the technicians who did the job, and they were so responsive. Our attic is now better insulated and mammal-free. Also, we are better insulated from cold, heat, and noise with anti-pest insulation. read more

I've used Pest Now twice and they offer a good service for a good price. I bought the one time service and after a few weeks I noticed bugs coming back. When I called customer service they were happy to comeback free of charge and retreat the whole house. When the technician came out to retreat is was raining so he only treated the inside. He told me he would drive by sometime soon when it wasn't raining to treat the outside, a few days later I saw the truck pulling up to our house for outside treatment. Great customer service! Other companies like Moxie have pushy sales people banging on your door and over promise. Pest Now is great. I would use this company again in the future. read more

I needed help with several mud wasp nest that appear to be inside or behind the siding so they cannot be seen from the outside. Instead of coming out for that as I asked on the web site, Pest Now came out to do a general treatment. Now, I was not that specific in my request so that is a mitigating factor, I could have been more clear. Anyway, the technician did discussed the issues with me; and he did the best he could but couldn't address all my issues. Since the wasp were not swarming outside the two areas to see where they were going (it was in the morning), he could not treat them. Part of my wasp problem was on the second story so he could not go up to the second story to examine the area. I went ahead and agreed to the general outside house treatment but my issue was not addressed with the higher wasps. For the general treatment, he did a great job! read more

I noticed some rotting wood inside my house near a door. So I got worried about termites and called another company. I had gotten an inspection from them first. They said I had termites and mice. And tried to charge me $2000 + for termite treatment and mice control. They also said I needed new insulation and to block entry points ( a total of all services adding up to $4,000!) Mind you I've never seen a mouse, but there were traps when I moved in three years ago. Since they were out for termites I though I would just kill two birds with one stone. After that high estimate from the 1st co I asked my coworker for a recommendation. We work in the mortgage business so we see termite inspections daily. He works for the busiest branch so I trusted his recommendation. He recommended Pest Now. They came out the next day and 1) they don't see termites and 2) they did a quick placement of traps and spray for mice in the case I do have some. (Also because winter is approaching and those buffers will be looking for shelter). I had two appointments with them on the same day between 9-11. One for termite and one for mice and it didn't break my wallet. In fact it was cheap in my opinion. They will come back in 2 weeks free of charge to see how the traps are working. I'm so happy I called Pest Now and have more peace of mind. read more

Could not provide proof/photos and invoiced realtor for $650 to treat. Our realtor hired a more economical firm to address the problem who reported no evidence of termites so did not treat.
