They were supposed to seal around the fireplace in the attic. No follow up, no inspection. 3 guys showed up at 9 am with one asking to use the rest room as soon as they arrived. Update: Fourth time Terminix cancelled and did not tell me after I confirmed the appointment. So far I have spent a total of 8 hours (2 hour increments waiting for service and no one has shown). Terminix missed three scheduled appointments without notifying me, leaving me waiting each time. On the third attempt, an employee (possibly named Ken) called to say he wasn't assigned to my area and blamed me for the previous technician not completing the multi-point inspection, even though that visit was only for exclusions. I have been a customer of Terminix for 7+ years. I've had insulation, exclusion service, and termite protection. Currently paying $1209.04 per year for these services. I have reached the end of rope with them. The only reason I stayed was I had Devon who is a great technician. However, the remainder of the company is NOT CUSTOMER FOCUSED!!! 1) they send a text at 10pm for unscheduled service the next day. Then I must then call to reschedule. Guess what, the technician shows up anyway since he was not notified. I have called and reminded them I am the customer and it's not my responsibility to modify my life to accommodate Terminix. Again, call to reschedule; 2) I schedule a terminate inspection and no show. I call a centralized call center and get platitudes and apologies; the termite inspector did not even have a hammer to put the stakes back in the ground, he shoved them in and of course they fall over; also, they did not replace 5 year old rotted wood stakes until I made them, that guy had a hammer; 3) it is impossible to contact the local office and the call center will not provide, the representative has said the local office will call, guess what, no call. By accident I found the number for the area manager, called him, nothing but platitudes and apologies, nothing changed; 4) there was to be a scheduled full home inspection between 1-3 pm today, at least I received notice 2 days prior, AGAIN NO SHOW!! 5) finally I sent a letter to corporate headquarters, customer service, fingers crossed I hoped for a response, NOTHING; 6) finally today when I called to respond to them previous day NO SHOW, I spoke the agent who wanted to reschedule, I requested to speak to a supervisor, after waiting 20 minutes, I must give the rep credit at least she kept coming back to apologize for the wait, I requested for the supervisor to call me, since my time valuable, I was told the supervisor would call back in 15-30 minutes. Guess what, it's been 1 hour and twenty minutes and still no call. THIS IS THE STRAW THAT BROJE THE CAMELS BACK!!!! I'm done and currently looking for a non-corporate pest control company that is customer focused. Do yourself a favor...Find another Pest Control company. I called Terminix because they had the name recognition...That was a mistake. I needed a Termite Inspection for a VA Mortgage Refi. Before the "Inspector" even came out to the house, he called me telling me everything we need to do and was just selling us on pest control, without even looking at the house to know if we had any pests. I informed him we just need an inspection, rudely interrupting me several times continuing to sell. The appointment came, and when he got to the house, my wife answered the door, and he did the same thing...Again, saying he was rude. I had to step in...looking back I should have kicked him out of the house. I finally convinced him to complete the inspection. Towards the end, he reported no termites but still tried to sell us on services. Said we had mice...and they could reinsulate the entire attic for $10,000. I asked him about the Shed...He said the Shed did not need to be in the report. I informed him that the Mortgage Company said if the Shed is in the Appraisal, it needs to be completed. He said he did not do the Shed, and it is not needed. several days pass by, and the Mortgage Company came back and said the Termite Inspection did not include the Shed, and they can not sign off on it until the Shed is Inspected. Tried getting in touch with the Salesman (who calls himself an Inspector) and he said it would be a complete new report at full price. After 3 days of coordinating he ghosted me. I called the office, and spoke to them, and they said they could send someone else and it would not be a charge since the job was not completed the first time. Now after a week, he sent me a text today informing me he saw the appointment, and he would be coming out, but would only charge $99 instead of $149. I informed him what the office said, and all he said "it's miscommunication". I had him cancel because I don't want him on my property again, and I don't think I should pay twice for one service. I called the office again, this time they said they would have the service manager call me...Nope. No call from the Service manager. Bad service, rude people, Service managers don't call back. He inspected the crawl space and advised that there was no evidence of a termite infestation. he suggested I have stations put in & also suggested a vapor barrier. He quoted me prices for both. Terrible, they installed mesh along the perimeter of my house which made a minor issue a thousand times worse. The mesh had gaps in it so totally defeated its purpose. But the worst thing is that they dug up around the house and in so doing left big gaping holes into my crawl space. They cover those big holes with this mesh (with gaps) so all they did was provide more entry for points for mice and not only mice for for water to get into the crawl space and insects etc. it was a disaster. I had to pay a stone mason to cone out asap to fix what terminix did to the foundation of the house. I can't believe how bad it was. Not only that but they will leave your house a mess? Dirty glove marks all over the wall and mud everywhere. They just don't seem to give a crap. Would never work with them again. Where you might have had one or two little areas for mice to come in, they will leave you with multiple more ways for them to get in and your wallet significantly lighter for It. read more

My terminix tech was a no show for my appt today. No call or anything. When I called terminix, the rep told me shes sorry, sometimes that just happens, and she was sending a message to the tech for him to call me but I might just have to reschedule my appt. Then I look up and read many stories about this happening with terminix. How is this okay that a company can just apparently be no calls no shows for appts all the time AFTER they take your money for services they don't provide?? I feel like I've been scammed. After waiting a bit, I called terminix again because the tech, (surprise!) never called. Currently on hold after asking for a full refund and cancellation of my contract as I write this. This is ridiculous. UPDATE: Got a very nice supervisor who asked for time to get ahold of the tech or branch manager to find out what happened. I agreed- that's fair. Something could've happened. She couldn't get ahold of either of them so i canceled and am getting a refund. This was my supposed to be my first appt after having the inspection and discovering that I am infested. I called Terminix Ashburn, VA., because of their name. As someone else stated, I thought they would be good. We were in a new home and had wolf spiders coming in when the weather warmed up. Terminix came out and sprayed for approximately two to three minutes and left quickly. We have cameras. So I complained because this was the first time to spray for spiders. They came back out and did a better job. After the first time, some workers did a good job, most did not. Finally, after rescheduling about four times to spray, but still charging me, they came out and did a very quick spray. of course the spiders came back. I called to cancel because they charged me again and I was not happy with the company. Hailey did not want me to cancel. she promised this, that and the other thing to stay. This branch of terminix in Virginia is run by incompetent individuals. Extremely quick to sign you up to an annual membership (termite prevention in my experience) and charge you card, but WORTHLESS for completing their side of the membership. Roger was out two weeks ago with our normal quarterly service tech to sign us up for their combined termite/insect service. Charged my card that day to start the annual termite service and the hole digger came later in the day. He was unable to dig two holes / stations due to our dry VA rock "soil." Said he'd be back tomorrow (Friday, 7/23/21) and never showed. I gave it until Wednesday, 7/28/21 to contact Roger and ask why this work was still not done. "We needed to buy an auger to complete your work, he'll be back by the end of the week." Now almost another week has gone by, and the bait stations are still sitting against my house waiting to go in the ground. One thing I can guarantee is they'll charge my card in two weeks, but you can bet whatever you want to wager I'll have to contact these jerks at least two more times for the INSTALLATION to be COMPLETED. The "contract" they provided was on an iPad and it later said I was completely satisfied with the work when it was never completed and they charged me. In short, they manipulated what I signed. I disputed the bill with the credit card company and won, then I received a few shake down phones calls from their Sterling business and then their headquarters. One surely man said,"Let me help you help yourself" in an effort to force me to pay them. I requested one of their free inspections for my apartment unit because I had some concerns of possible pests having gotten in. It was VERY clear in my address that I was an apartment. They could have told me at any point in the 3 days between request for inspection and the scheduled day to tell me that don't do apartments unless requested via the leasing manager but NOPE. They just let it go. So the day of the inspection (today) arrives...I've taken time off work for this (a job that does not have PTO mind you, so I am just out a days pay for this) and no communication whatsoever. I contact the company and they claim the manager tried to call me; a lie. They then try to claim that I was asking for a full service and they won't do that for an individual apartment unit; also a lie, I just wanted an inspection to know if I even had anything to worry about, no treatment currently asked for. NEVER use this company. I have paid for inspections I know they never completed. I have been using them for several years now because I have a log house over 100 years old with a stone crawl space. What they would do is send a text message one morning stating that they would be by later that same day. No pre-warning, no nothing. Because I worked during the day, I would reply to cancel and let them know I wanted them to inspect the interior. No follow up. No nothing. So this year, when I called to schedule an inspection, I ask for someone small so that they could inspect underneath. But they didn't send that person. They sent another inspector that I met and (again) explained my situation. They in turn had their regional manager come out (again, no intent on climbing underneath) so he shined a flashlight from the removed floor boards. In no way could he see the entire underneath of my home. Then he tried to reassure me that he saw no tunnels... and that I really needed to schedule another treatment - at a cost to me. Then I find out that the "sticks" they put around your house actually contain NO pesticide but are just pine sticks that they hope the termites will attack before getting into your home. So by that logic, you could actually have termites in your home for a year before they take your next payment and come out and inspect. By them checking their interior boxes that they inspected your home, but no means means that they came out and actually inspected. Keep your money. Don't pay high dollar for inspections that are not performed. read more

I am so ticked off at Terminix I have cancelled my 20+ year relationship with them. I am not exactly sure which office services my house, so am leaving here. But my anger might be directed at another office. Issue 1: They constantly come out and apply pesticides on rainy days. I complain and they are a little combative. "We don't control the weather SIR!" Excuse me? So I guess they are ok with spraying IN THE POURING RAIN only to watch it get washed away and then charge you $175?? Ring video footage available. 2: We asked that they actually come and service the centricon termite bait traps. Most of the time, they just try to blow us off. They haven't checked them in over a year. One was damaged and they didn't bother to replace it. 3: After our latest service in a pouring rain storm, I complained again and they said they would be happy to come re-service the house. We never received a notification that they were coming. He said he called but got a disconnect tone on our phone. I checked our phone caller ID log and he did call at 3PM on a SUNDAY. We have a telezapper that makes the disconnect sound to ward off telemarketers, but he thought that we were disconnected. I don't blame him for thinking that, but had he let it ring, the answering machine would pick up. We were out and got back home around 1 AM and were still in bed this morning. The tech set-off our ring doorbell and called the home number. I got dressed and went to answer the door. The guys demeanor was combative to say the least. At first he was reasonable and calm and so was I. H wanted to know ""why"" I asked for a re-service. I explained why and he responded, "We don't control the weather!" I told him I understood that, but it didn't make any sense to apply sprays in the pouring rain. He then replied "We have to work, all you have to do is call to reschedule another service"! Starting to loose my temper now. I informed him that I had taken pesticide application courses and rule 1 was to NOT apply in the rain. Anyway.. things deteriorated from there and he told me he "Wasn't going to do ANYTHING for me!" Fine! I will cancel my service! He said he was going to call his manager and inform him I was cussing him out. I told him to go ahead pointing to the ring doorbell camera. It's ALL been recorded. He stomped off and I called to cancel. After calling the corporate # I was connected with the local office, and spoke with a very calm and lovely woman who asked if they could get another technician would I be willing to keep our 20 year account with them. I reluctantly agreed, but she was so nice and personable, it was hard to say no. She called back later and said that the the that was out this morning was the only one that would be available to service my house so I politely cancelled our relationship. The actual service technicians are professional and good at what they do. The company itself and the billing practices are abysmal. They encourage auto pay, however, their autopay system did a partial payment for 3 monthly payments over the last 7 months since enrolling. Calling a customer representative to discuss billing repeatedly states they they cannot see that money is owed and confirms that card is on file for autopay. They then send account to debt collectors stating that money is due. Customer service is only willing to take payment and state a message will be sent up the chain for escalation. They insist that they cannot connect you or give you a number to discuss with a supervisor for privacy reasons. Each message was ignored. The only calls back were ever notification that money is owed despite repeated calls and website complaint attempt and not an attempt to rectify or explain the problem. Insistence on early termination of contract finally created an actionable attempt by service reps. Interestingly the initial contract was suddenly inaccessible at this point through their initial email. They apologized for my feelings of frustration but no employee took responsibility for their repeated failure with auto bill pay or apologized for their company's failure. The people at the central call center are always very helpful and polite. Unfortunately, they can do nothing to resolve a problem. Two weeks ago, I called for an appointment to service bait stations they installed. I told the woman exactly how many. I was given an appointment with a two hour window and the name of the tech who was coming. Today, May 17, I called to confirm the appointment and the central call rep told me there was no record of it. She said the appointment was for May 30 at a different time. Absolutely not, I know exactly when this appointment was scheduled and I made plans to be home for it. The day after I made the appointment someone called me to take payment for the May 17 appointment. I told him payment would be made after the service was provided as they have been so unreliable in the past. Last year the tech only filled 18 stations and had to come back to fill the extra 10 stations he missed. That has happened repeatedly. Do not pay for anything ahead of time and watch them do everything. I need to canes to walk and now I have to make sure I show them every single bait station and watch to make sure they fill them and put the caps on afterwards. Terminex has no diagram of where the bait stations were originally placed. I asked the call center and the techs (different each time) how they remember where the stations are. One tech told me they guess at approximately 8 feet apart. Another tech told me they have a little machine that locates the stations which of course he didn't have. The techs will only walk around the house unless supervised. I have bait stations around other wooden structures in my yard and around very large old tree stumps that were termite infested. If I do not hobble around and point out every single station they just do the least amount and are guessing at that. I tried calling the local office phone number but when I asked if I had reached the office and gave the specific address listed on their website, the woman said no, that all calls, regardless of what is posted locally, go their central call center. Forget trying to get a local contact. With my first call to confirm today's appointment and was told there was no appointment scheduled, I was insistent that there was an appointment, I had made plans to be here, and this was unacceptable and I wanted someone to come out today. The poor woman was very polite and said she would pass my information on to the service supervisor and he would call me back today. 99.9% certain no one will call. I always get complete info including names but nothing matters. I do feel sorry for the call center reps who have to bear the brunt of angry customers and there is nothing they can do. Terminix is an extremely frustrating company to deal with. Unfortunately, other termite companies are no better so I have to use Terminix. Too bad there is not an option for zero stars. Update to my review ~~~ I drove to the Terminix location that was listed nearest my home. It was a large place, clearly for workers not customers. No reception area, just walk in a door, a long hall on one side and a large conference room on the other. I knocked on a closed door loudly. After a minute a man came down the hall, I told him why I had to come in and he showed me to his office. He was the service manager who was supposed to contact me and get someone out today. He said he had not received any communication about that. He explained a lot of things and made an appointment for me for next week. Having an account with Terminix on a quarterly paid for the membership2/3 years. Today when they are coming they do nothing, he is not professional, not knowledgeable and kind of employees very angry and rude with customers, in one minute not have any passion, they left without any pest control, I'm not recommending any people and I'm notmention his name but he is very ruder, how companies can grow if customer not to satisfy. Super disappointed in my recent interaction with Terminix. I scheduled a free consultation because I am dealing with mice. I used the chat option through the Terminix website and arranged for a 5-7 PM time window. The day of the appointment, the guy called/texted to see if he could come earlier - because I was working, I didn't have access to my phone. When I left work (to be home for my 5:00 appointment window) I sent him a text. He responded about an hour later saying he was already home and asking when I could reschedule. So...the appointment window doesn't actually mean anything if the tech decides he doesn't like it? If I can't reliably make an appointment, how can I expect them to be reliable about anything? I'll keep catching the mice on my own while I explore other options for service. read more
