I called them because we've had an issue with moths destroying a Persian rug. We had rug treated last year and they started showing up again. I sent them a couple of photos ahead to make sure they knew what we were dealing with. The guy came out and sprayed and set up these boxes that were supposed to attract them. After my daily efforts of killing many each day, I called them again. They totally misidentified what type of moth it was. The traps were useless. They are cheaper for sure than Orkin or Terminix but there is an old adage "You get what you pay for". Called Orkin, the guy immediately saw where they were breeding AGAIN! The traps Pest Now had set out were totally ineffective for this type of moth. read more

I have to admit, we started off to a rocky start because I was under the impression that the technician is supposed to come inside the home and spray each time. However, after talking to customer service (who is great btw), it was explained that they keep bugs out before ever having them come inside, and therefore, the technician only comes inside to spray if there's an issue (like seeing bugs indoors). But that I could request that indoor visit every time if I wanted to without there being a visible problem. The techs are super knowledgeable about their bugs. I've taken a couple of pics and sent them via email and they knew right away what it was and how to kill it. My favorite moment was during the summer when we had an ant problem. They had come out just a month before but we started seeing ants everywhere in our kitchen. I called and they came back out within a few days, sprayed again, and like magic, literally not a single ant seen again. I like them so much, I set my parents up with their service. They actually saw a mouse in their house. The tech searched high and low, figured out where the opening was where they were entering from, plugged it up, set bait, and no more mice. I also like how easy it is to pay (online), schedule appointments, or reach a human if needed by phone. I highly recommend! read more

Pestnow did an inspection of my house as a part of the sales process. They knew they had me over a barrel and charged me $600 for termite mitigation, because of "termite dust" found in the far corner of the garage. It was a one inch spot of dirt, probably from my mower that I kept in that spot. Of course, I had to accept the mitigation as it was necessary in order to sell my house. Scam artist alert! Working with their schedule, I took off from work today. They were supposed to be here this morning. It's 1:15 p.m., and they haven't showed. We have to keep our dog away from home for eight hours after a full treatment, and they know this. Not only that, the "supervisor" showed up the other day and didn't know what kind of bugs they had been treating for, what they had been spraying, and had all kinds of excuses for not treating in a timely manner. Good experiences. No problems. My first experience with Pest Now was when they were sent to do a termite inspection for a mortgage refi. The guy who came out was very knowledgeable and easy to deal with. When I needed some treatment for ants a year later, I was able to get a quick appointment. I've had two services, by two different guys and they seemm pretty thorough thus far. They have sprayed inside my house, room to room and the front and back yard/driveway area to include the garage. The last guy removed the web's in my garage as well as a wasp nest under my balcony. The wasp haven't returned but I do see a few spiders lurking in my garage from time to time but that's to be expected. They will come out between services if you ask. Outstanding in every way. I have been using a pest control company for 7 years and finally dumped them due to their sheer obstinance and argumentative behavior. I called PestNow and wish I had done so seven years ago . The technician took his time to study every nook and cranny and was clear that his goal is to ensure that mice do not come in. The other vendor didn't care about finding where the holes could be. This technician, also, upon finding out that we have a construction project in November took enough care to say, "bring me back after the construction workers leave so I can check to see if any new mice came in". There was a large hornets' nest lurking in a shrub near my walkway. On Tuesday I booked an appointment for between 8-10 for Wednesday and at 8:05 the gentleman was at my door. He treated, removed, and disposed of the nest and provided a 90-day warranty for further treatment in the event that the hornets persisted in nesting in the shrub. I'm so mad right. I'm a Real Estate agent in Northern Virginia. I use this company quite often for Pest Inspections. I had them come out and quote me in person for birds nest removal. The guy came out and saw that there were multiple nests in multiple shutters and he said $185...to which I responded "Sold". I thought it was a done deal. Came back got a quote. $265 for 2 shutters. What?? That's not what I was told. So for 14 shutters now you're telling me it's going to be $1855. Um no. That's not what you told me - and I was never told $265 either. Well I have a personal service contract on my house and 20 other properties at least that I'm going to pull. They should have honored what they told me. I will no longer be having Pest Now do inspections. Their inspector was careless with poor attention to detail and now they are not going to honor their verbal quote. I had an ant problem last month that I tried to handle with my arsenal of home remedies. Nothing worked so I called the professionals. I did my research and decided on Pest Now. They came out within a day after I called. Chris seemed to do a thorough job of treating around the foundation of the house to extend to as far out as the sidewalk where there was evidence of ants. He also sprayed in the bathrooms where I saw ant activity. Fortunately, he told me what to expect as to an initial uptick in ant presence (otherwise I would have thought the treatment wasn't working), but by 3 weeks, they would be gone. My experience with the most "household" vendors are very limited and very memorable. The typical late arrival, last minute cancellation, and "hidden charges" are a nightmare. Glad I went with Pest Now. For starters, Chris H. was promptly on time, properly identified himself to myself (and neighbors), and very professional. There is a forest in my backyard, about 80 acres of wildlife roaming and living freely. I too want to roam and live freely in my house, without housing any snakes or additional species with the exception of humans and dogs. Chris H gave me tips on how to properly protect my interior and immediate exterior space. He thoroughly inspected and explained the services I was receiving, tips on how my household behavior can effect the effectiveness of the treatment, and was accommodating to my pet's safety. I refuse to deal with any other service provider. Something about "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." I had a great rep, Julio, from Pest Now-Clinton come this morning to follow-up on my mice issue. He was thorough and complete in his follow up. Checked traps/poison-- showed me where the mice had eaten the poison (so it's working and I knew that cause I hadn't seen a mice in awhile), rechecked the holes that were plugged previously to make sure they were still closed, found an additional potential entry way --plugged that one, suggested areas for complete cleaning (under and behind stove and a spice rack). Recently called Pest Now after seeing some ants coming in the house. They were very responsive and easy to schedule something convenient. The technician that came out was very polite and very thorough. He found the entry point and treated area. We haven't seen any ants since. I would highly recommend Pest Now for all of your creepy crawly pests. There was a small problem with the billing as I got rebilled after paying the tech the day of service but it got cleared up quick. A waste of time and money, They did not investigate where the mice were entering my unit. The mice never touched their poison. On the 2nd visit the technician recommended another stronger poison. When I called for a third visit and the stronger poison, the phone attendant was outright RUDE and refused to let the technician bring the other poison. Although raccoons may look cute, they can be very, very ,very destructive to your home. I rarely write reviews, however, I cannot say enough good things about PestNow in Herndon, VA. We had a family of raccoons happily living in our attic and causing interior and exterior damage. It was an arduous process to remove the raccoons, however Pest Now remained patiently steadfast in making sure our problem was solved. I used Yelp to get estimates for a pest control servicing. Due to the great reviews and quick response time, I went with Pest Now. I included in my estimate request that we have cats and need to make sure the treatment is safe. First, Nick didn't read my availability correctly and scheduled me for exactly when I was NOT free and I had to correct him. He also never responded about the first time customer coupon I had. Next, the technician showed up with no notice and says that the cats need to sequestered for an hour away from where he is spraying. None of this was communicated to me ahead of time or I would have been prepared. It seems this is a routine thing with the schedulers that they do not provide adequate info to the customers to prepare the space for treatment. Our tech was great about being patient while I corralled cats. He pointed out that the treatment would have been more successful if we had removed the items from the cabinets they were treating. All of this information should have been communicated beforehand so we could actually do these things. For such a large company, there should be form email that new customers get about what to expect and what steps to take before the tech arrives. read more

Yes, there was evidence of damage long, long ago but no current activity. Yet, the other company installed traps & poison - all unnecessary...charging over $1,500! This company could have done preventative work for less than $400 and I will ALWAYS call on them in the future. We basically discussed the semantics of the pest service, what it would cost, the treatment involved but we didn't settle on a physical time to come out to my property. I have contacted several pest companies to determine price, treatment, and long-term goals on how to retain a pest-free environment. So, it's not an easy task to settle on one company that offers monthly subscriptions to a company that does one simple treatment. It's a matter of budget and long-term goals. This company has terrible service. Their technicians are in a hurry to get the money and leave. We hired them to get rid of bed bugs in our rental apartment and they did not fix the issue. They should have informed us of proper procedure on how to get all clothes and linens in bags (which another company did later). Their customer service left me disappointed. I sent several emails concerning my dissatisfaction. The emails were simply not answered. It also made me uneasy that the technicians would often be late to do the treatments.
