It was great to go back. Food is still great! Huge portions, Son and Dad had the chicken fried steak - and had lots left to take home lol. The menu here is pretty diverse - - you can get burgers, wings, Korean hot dogs, Mexican food, breakfast, and seafood. The girl we had at the window was super nice and very cheerful. We ordered a couple of burgers and an order of wings with fries. The burgers were pretty good, and I really liked the wings, but the fries were cold, so we did not enjoy them at all. Some other people that were there when we were there ordered breakfast, and it looks pretty good. This is the kind of place that you might want to try different things to see what's best. They seem to have a lot of people picking up and taking with. I was really surprised how clean this place was considering there is only an outdoor patio and no indoor seating. There wasn't a bit of trash or food or anything on the ground and the tables all looked freshly painted and were spotless. The patio is covered and has so Vines lining the fencing around it so it makes it a little more private, rather than just looking right out as the cars drive by.

First time back, I ordered a burger, and let me tell you, it was excellent! Had those nice char marks from the grill, great flavor, and for the price, you really can't beat it. The combo was an excellent value for what you get. Went back the following day and tried the wings, which were really good! Also gave the burrito a shot, and that was pretty good too. What really stands out to me is the quality of food for the price. Nowadays, it's hard to find a place where you can get a good meal without breaking the bank. It's an older location, a little hidden in the cut, but don't let that fool you. Good food, great value, and definitely worth checking out! Five stars from me! I'll definitely keep coming back.

Sure enough, I had ordered it incorrectly online, but they remembered how I like it and made it perfectly! I have yet to encounter a single person there who isn't friendly, smiling, and genuinely pleasant. They remember my name and apparently my order, too! It's those little things that make a place special. And the bonus? The food is delicious! My wrap is always amazing! Great food, wonderful people, and customer service that goes above and beyond. The fresh 1/2-pound Angus beef patty was juicy and cooked perfectly. The shaved ribeye took it to another level, while the grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, pepper jack cheese, and mayo all came together without overpowering the flavor of the beef. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The curly fries were hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned, making them the ideal side to an already fantastic meal. The restaurant also has plenty of indoor seating, making it a comfortable place to enjoy your meal whether you're stopping in for lunch or dinner. On top of that, the staff has always been friendly and welcoming every time I've visited, which makes the experience even better. The portions were generous, the food came out fresh, and you can tell they don't cut corners on quality. If you're a burger fan, the DTF Burger is an easy recommendation. I'll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu.

This place delivers big flavor in an unexpected package…read more On a recent trip to Phoenix from my home base in Chicago, I got a serious craving for fish and chips--something crispy, hot, and satisfying. After a quick internet search, I ended up at a place called Speedie's Fish & Chips on McDowell. Let me be real with you... when I pulled up, my first thought was: Am I in the right place? From the outside, it's giving more "corner vape shop meets convenience store" than seafood spot. But hey--hunger (and curiosity) won the day. I walked in and discovered exactly that: a vape store, a small market, and tucked off to the right, a humble little lunch counter. No frills -- just a guy behind the counter doing his thing. I ordered the Fish & Shrimp Daily Special ($11.99) and waited a few minutes. When the food hit the counter, WOW. Any skepticism I had about the surroundings vanished in a cloud of fryer steam and crispy golden goodness. The fish? Hot, flaky, and perfectly battered. The shrimp? Juicy with just the right crunch. The fries? Fresh, piping hot, and generously portioned. All of it was straight out of the fryer--no limp or lukewarm bites here. To top it off, they gave me four sauces--ketchup, cocktail, tartar, and ranch--which turned this into a choose-your-own-dipping-adventure. Each bite was better than the last. And guess what? The next day, I went back and ordered the exact same thing. No regrets. Bottom line: Speedie's is not about ambiance. It's not Instagram-worthy, and it might not even look like a restaurant. But if you're in Phoenix and craving solid fish and chips at a great price, don't let the exterior fool you. This place delivers big flavor in an unexpected package.

I was looking on Yelp while she was in an office taking care of business and saw this place. When she and my granddaughter came out I asked them how they felt about it. Granddaughter was hesitant because she claims she doesn't like fish but daughter was open to it and I could see online that they had hamburgers and chicken nuggets also. I got the two piece fish with fries and she got the three piece fish with fries because she thought the two piece wouldn't fill her up. The pieces were generous and delicious and the fries were good. She wasn't even able to eat her third piece so she let me bring it home for leftovers. We also got six wings to try out, three lemon pepper and three honey barbecue. We each had one of each flavor just for an appetizer. They were good, a little chewy but wonderful flavor. My daughter and I were both impressed with how good the fish was and neither one of us could finish what we were served. The teenage granddaughter ordered the hamburger special for $6.99 that included hamburger fries and a kool-aid. She wasn't crazy about the Kool-Aid so we brought it home for other family members but she kept exclaiming how delicious her hamburger was! She liked the wings also and we all liked the fries. All in all we were happy with our food and the service was fine, very friendly. The final decision was that it was a good choice! It's inside an old convenience store and does have a lot of items a convenience store would have but we just went for the food. Don't let the outside deter you, the food is worth it and a very very good price. For me the only disadvantage was when I asked for a receipt it just said $40.32 but didn't itemize so there was no way to double check it and I have found so many places make errors that I like to look over my receipt and see exactly what I was charged. I do know that we paid $6.99 for the hamburger special at least that's what it was listed for and my two-piece was $8.99. I think my daughter is three piece was $11.99 but I can't remember for absolute sure and I don't remember how much the wings were but they were reasonable.
