We live in Gilbert, but we were at the Paradise High School and after we were done we were really hungry. Not living in this area I Yelp for a breakfast restaurant and boy were we surprised when we found this place. When you first walk up to the door there is a covered patio where there was a singer entertaining you. There were a million people waiting to be seated but the host said it would be about 15 minutes for us. He was right this place is bigger than it looks. We were seated and met out waitress Cathea( sorry I know I spelled your name wrong) who was wonderful. Funny and very knowledgeable about the menu. Anyone who has read my reviews know what a breakfast and coffee snob I can be. Holy moley the coffee was excellent. The menu is HUGE with lots of choices and our meal was delicious. They even have homemade raspberry jelly for their toast. They only CON I could find was that they do not take credit cards, but they have two ATM without a fee on site. Would we go back Yes, Yes, yes anytime we are in the area it will be our first choice for breakfast. Thank you for a wonderful start to our day. read more

We have said so many times we should stop by here for breakfast. Decided to go early this morning for Father's day. It was the worst breakfast we've ever had! So disappointed...not sure how there is a line to get in. We've had better food at Denny's read more

The food was delicious ! Everything was well portioned for its price. For a family of 6 we spent about $120 which I thought was amazing for all the food we ate. Server was beyond friendly and always on top of our beverages ! Surfer vibes ambiance in the restaurant ! Would definitely stop by again if in Phoenix, AZ! read more

Very disappointed in the overall experience. Food is very average and absolutely overpriced. The service was ok but you are shoved in a little space elbow to elbow with the patron next to you. Also, this is a sketchy area of town and had I known that, I would not have gone. Not recommended. read more

Prior to the pandemic, this was always our go to breakfast spot. We came here recently and saw they had changed their menus and it was smaller which definitely was a good idea, but the food we received was not as good as we remembered it. Our pancakes tasted a bit off, as in it tasted very heavy and not fluffy like we remembered. The pork egg Benedicts were tasty, but came out lukewarm. We are not sure what changed, but we hope it was just an off day! The service was very lovely. read more

Good food but a little expensive. It's a cash only restaurant. Good breakfast food. Good location.

Awesome breakfast place, well worth the wait. Even a little live music to make the wait seem shorter. Despite going on a Sunday, the wait wasn't long. Food is great with standard fare like omelets to more adventurous offerings like grilled fish are good. Best breakfast in town. Our waitress Danielle was the best. read more

Food was amazing!!! Great little local place. Service was outstanding. Danielle was very attentive and efficient. Her personality was great and she made sure we were happy at all times. The restaurant was busy but worth the wait. Very clean with a homey feel. read more

My favorite favorite place for Sunday brunch! Service is amazing, the jams are always good and the food is bomb!

When I went to the Original Breakfast House for a bite to eat I didn't expect to leave with a fully belly and incredibly humbling experience. After waiting for a table on a busy Saturday morning I was sat with my toddler and ordered our food. I realized after sitting for a while that there was a 'cash only' sign over the take out counter. I didn't have any cash on me but assumed it was just for pickup orders. Then I saw another cash only sign, and I panicked. I waved down my waitress and asked and she confirmed they only accepted cash. They have an ATM up front that does not charge any fee, but I didn't even have a debit card. My food had already been ordered, almost done, I was with my toddler, and had no means to get cash to pay. I had a complete breakdown, feeling utterly horrified and like a failure for getting them into this situation and having no idea how to remedy it. There are signs, but I realized that between waiting outside and then keeping my toddler from grabbing things while we were being seated I completely overlooked all of them. The staff and owner could not have been any more compassionate and understanding. There was not a single second of condemnation or frustration, only kindness as they offered a myriad of options to me and assured me not to worry. My waitress even gave me a hug. The food was very good and I strongly recommend it, but the service and quality of people was astounding. I've never felt so supported in my life than I did just now sitting helplessly in that booth with my 4 year old. Now, with that overwhelmingly compassionate experience, all I can do is leave this review, hoping to support this business and its people, and contemplate how I can in turn show that level of compassion and love to others who need it. read more

This is by far the best breakfast restaurant I've ever been to! Cute little place inside, waiters and waitresses are friendly and the food is delicious! I tried the pork verde omelette and hubby had the shrimp and grits both were not disappointing at all!! I want to try everything on this menu as everything looked amazing! On the way out I had to try their home made pop tart and the blueberry scone with the lemon curd and I wish I would have tried more things but I was already rolling out of there I was so full!! I can't wait to come back! Oh yeah cash only for this place! Must try! read more

Love this breakfast place. My go to Eggs Benedict spot‼As a former Marine I love talking to the Veterans I come across going here to eat or for pick up. Outstanding read more

First time visiting on a Saturday morning. Wait was about 30-40 min but they have plenty of chairs and space outside while waiting. We had an omelet and one of their eggs Benedict that was on their specials menu. SO GOOD!!! I want to go back and try another Benedict option and their pancakes! Freshly squeezed orange juice all morning. We watched a few servers take turns squeezing a ton of oranges when they had a minute to keep pitchers of OJ available. For sure fresh squeezed!!! Will go back. Cash Only. Cute, local, surf vibe dinner. read more

Bloody Mary not great but food was good! Lots of food on plate and reasonable prices.

My husband, my adult son, daughter and myself came in to eat brunch. It was my two grown children's first time and my husband and myself have been here several times over the last couple years. Everyone ordered breakfast, pancakes and eggs, sausage and bacon. I ordered lunch. I decided on the Monte Cristo sandwich with incredibly delicious melt in my mouth ham and Swiss with a Dijon mix, and fresh fruit with homemade fresh ham for dipping. It was the best Monte Cristo I have ever had! Our waitress was enthusiastic and helpful. She was attentive and checked back with us frequently. The rest of the employees were also friendly and helpful--clearing away our dishes and inquiring if everything was to our satisfaction. This restaurant is a gem. We are repeat customers and we will return in the near future. read more

Great place for pancakes! French toast are delicious too! This is a cash only restaurant but they have no fee ATM's inside the restaurant.

This place is soooooooooo overrated. Let's start with the french toast which is soaked in dirty grease used to fry chicken so it taste like bad, old grease with a chicken smell to it. I wanted to throw up, but my wife was a trooper and managed to hold it down. My son got the pop tart which was better than expected but he gave up on it about half way through. I played it safe and made a last minute change to the blueberry short stack and was so glad that I did. It was good and got the job done. The bacon was good as you'd expect from a place like this. I was annoyed by the menu making excuses about their cash only policy and pointing out how they pay $50k in fees. Since credit cards charge 3%, that suggests they are raking in over $1.6 million a year serving breakfast so they don't have any excuse for paying the 3% to accept credit cards like the rest of the modern world. It's 100% greed on their part, so spare me the sob story. It wasn't worth the wait and definitely not worth of its great Yelp rating so this was one where Yelp was totally wrong. Oh, and did I mention it is in a bad part of town? I definitely won't be back to plunk down $50 cash for breakfast for a modest two kids and two adults with terrible coffee and a long wait to get in. read more

Very good place to get breakfast! You need to try the pancakes. Usually they come with most meals.

Tried this place a ways from where we live to meet up with a relative staying in the area. The servings were HUGE! We all had tried different things. A family member at our table had the Big Gooey Scramble Mess plate and it was so much! The California Benedict was very good! Only downside was they get you on their beverage pricing... 3.85 for an approx 12 oz. (?) cup of orange juice And I don't think my niece even had a refill . We would come back again since they had great food, and good portions. Didn't get to try the cinnamon roll or any other pastries that looked so good in the glass display up front! read more

Delicious breakfast. We had the Birria Chile wuss and banana foster French toast, coffee. Cash only but they have an ATM. Our server was fantastic, the host was polite and even took my cell phone number as it was raining when we arrived and we wanted to sit in the car. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Came here for breakfast for the first time and we had delicious meals. Great atmosphere, family friendly and delicious food. This place doesn't take reservation, in the weekend it seems busier and the waiting time is between 20-45 minutes. Another thing this place only take cash, so make sure that you have enough cash. The food here is so good and make you want to comeback soon. My hubby and I shared the chicken mole, it was phenomenal! I also had chocolate croissant and it was so yummy! Our waitress was so sweet, she was very nice. We will definitely comeback for more. read more

This place riiiips (that's a good thing). There can often be a little wait on the weekends, but it is worth it. Service excellent, food excellent. Arguably the best breakfast joint in Phoenix. Casual vibe and big portions. They're cash only, but have an ATM incase you forget. read more

Breakfast this morning was perfect! We strolled in around 8a expecting a wait, but there was none. We were seated right away and our server was friendly and greeted us with a smile on her face. We decided to share the Banana Pecan French toast, scrambled eggs and bacon. We added a side of hash browns and when the food was delivered to us, the kitchen split the plate for us. We chowed down and the French Toast was delicious!! It had the perfect crunch and fluff. Our server dropped our check and the bill was less than $20. We were full and happy! read more

Total love. Love the chorizo burrito , pop tarts, but most especially the orange Juice. It's totally worth the price and having cash. Nephew has blessed the coffee as being the best cafe coffee and drinkable ( high praise from him, I've yet to have my coffee that I make him be passable). A place to take friends.... except on weekends . OMG the lines. Best to come during the week if possible. They try hard but there are so many people that love his place it's very crowded on a weekend. read more
