Beautiful restaurant but the food and service did not match the prices. While the guac was excellent the chips could break a tooth and none of the other food we got was worth mentioning and my mil sent her steak back it still came back not cooked as ordered. We ordered cocktails from the bar and those did not arrive until after our meals came (and after we asked about them). We were also missing a side dish of corn that finally came when we were almost done with our meal. It was not super busy and service should have been better. Would be nice to have a few more vegetarian options or any options for kids (but not rating them low for this). read more

The location is beautiful, but the food is amazing. We got the opportunity to attend a soft opening dinner and it was all very good. The service was wonderful, they servers were obviously still honing their knowledge (which is why soft openings exist) but we're well cared for. We had the bone marrow and brie to start. The baked brie came with the most amazing berry compote I have ever had and carne seca. Adding beef to baked brie seemed odd to me, but it absolutely rounded out the flavors and textures. For entrees we had the house special chicken, a rib eye steak, and a side of mushrooms. There was a chili paste with the eggplant that came with the chicken that was not a flavor I expected, and was pleasantly surprised. The skin on the chicken was very crunchy, but not burned. It was a bit salty, like it was in the brine for a bit too long, but that sometimes happens during soft openings. The steak was good. There wasnt anything that stood out, but was just a well cooked steak. The Chipotle mushrooms were a must try. The creamy Chipotle sauce was much thicker than I expected, but I will order that dish every time I go. I recommend trying this place. The menu has a few unusual pairings, just trust the chefs and you will get a wonderful meal. read more

Ambiance was cool but will not be going back. For the prices, we were unimpressed with the food. Everything was bland and lacking flavor. We were given a printed out paper menu which was surprising given how expensive the food is. I had looked at the menu online before going and the main thing I wanted wasn't even offered on the print out. Service was weird as our main dishes came out before the appetizer did. Now my wife is a pickier eater but after trying my food she will definitely be trying something different next time. Potato with steak bites was good and steak was tender but overall a bit underwhelming. But what else do you expect from a baked potato. The skirt steak and mashed potatoes were absolutely fantastic. Our server Jalin gave me the recommendation and it was the stand out of the night. We also order the Brie appetizer and could've used a bit more/better bread but overall delicious with the berry compote. The service was awesome even the busser/runner of the food Ramone was fantastic and extremely polite. 3 of us went last week for my Birthday. I was excited to try this place. I don't want to say anything bad about our waitress, but I had the initial feeling that since we were all females that maybe she didn't feel we would tip well. We ordered the bean dip, which I thought was complimentary from reading up about this place. No big deal, we wanted to try it. The serving she brought us was maybe about 4-5 tablespoons. Didn't come close to filling the top. I, also, thought it was bottomless but she immediately took the dish and didn't offer any more. Next, two of us ordered the New York strip. It was very good, but again because we are females, I felt what we received was nothing like the picture, much smaller portion. This is fine, but don't charge the same amount because it definitely is quite pricey for 5-6 strips of steak and potato wedges. I still indeed tipped over 20%, which I generally try to do. I really wanted to like this place but was disappointed in the mediocre treatment. Our waitress didn't check on us as much as I observed her doing to other tables. We REALLY wanted to like this place...and I give a little grace for only having been open 3 days but boy, this was without hyperbole one of the worst, most expensive dinners we've had. I am NOT nitpicking here...this was our objective itemized experience start to finish: No menus upon sitting down and waited 5-10 min before someone came over Ordered drinks in an empty bar that came out 15 min later Not enough chips for table Drinks never came out together Random glassware even for same drinks Shallow, raw bone marrow, not enough crackers ($38 as an app) Brie cheese was cold and again not enough crackers Steak ($60) inconsistently cooked (well done to medium in the same steak), cold plate that cooled the dish and oil-heavy flavor. 4 entrees came out at 3 different times Very thin burger ($30), enough cheese to warrant fondue 4 burnt tacos with minimal meat bloody bone barrow with tacos No serving spoon for Mac and cheese that was actually spaghetti Drinks were watered down The entire dinner was over 2 hrs in length and I left hungry. The best thing on the menu were the fries. The bill: $456 without tip. We asked how they preferred feedback and as soon as we started to give it, we were cut off and told "we understand there's a lot of improvement to get to where we need to be", without letting us give them honest and kindly-provided feedback. They took $100 off the bill but again, we didn't ask for that and just wanted to give them actionable steps they could take to get better as a restaurant we want to see succeed. I'm not a big fan of New Mexico/Southwest themed foods but this place completely turned my view around. They went over-the-top with decorating this place, each dining area has a massive wood-based chandelier that is quite impressive! Our server was very attentive and eager to share his own experiences and opinions on what the chef does best. For a starter of course we tried the guacamole, it seemed very fresh and had all the right ingredients except maybe a little too much lime to eat on its own, I added grilled Jalapeño and that canceled out some of the sour flavor from the lime. For the entrees we did the Barbacoa so I could test out their tortillas and the Filet to see how versatile the team was. I subbed flour for the corn tortillas, this was a recommendation from the server as I would traditionally go for the corn. I tried both and they're both amazing with the flour just slightly edging out the corn! They almost look store bought, which was a surprise for me but they taste several levels above store bought, you can tell whoever made them knew exactly what they were doing, so good!! Now for the filet, cooked to perfection, seasoned to perfection and more tender than any filet I've had that wasn't Wagyu which is saying a lot, I've dined at some of the finest steakhouses in the states. Nothing bad to say about the service or the food here, we'll be coming back soon. read more

The service started right when we walked in, greeted warmly by the hostess and seated promptly. Walking in the atmosphere was beautiful and inviting. Our server was informative, made wonderful suggestions and was on top of service. We ordered the crispy pork belly and it melted in our mouths. Ooof they need some help. Walking in for our party, there was a large party walking out. One of the men said "if you think the wait to get in is long, just wait for your food. 3 hour wait." And walked away. Boy was he right. We let the hostess know we were looking for our party, expecting them to guide us to the table. She just said they were already sat and we could go find them. She then said they might be on the patio. Just seemed weird we weren't guided to the table. Getting out to the patio is also a bit of a maze where you have to shuffle around tables to get out. The entrance is nice but small and tight. There was a family standing in the circular entrance area so we had to wait quite a while to let a bunch of people leaving come out before we could walk in. We were the last to arrive in our party and yet the first to get our drinks, which took about 25 minutes to get. We placed our appetizer order, that took about 40 minutes to come out, and then we placed our food at the same time that we ordered the apps but sat at the table forever. I had a Caesar salad and the first bite was so grainy it tasted like I just took a bite of sand. Really not sure why that would be, but the waitress said the chefs said it was panko breadcrumbs. I've had panko breadcrumbs before... that was not it. They ran out of the burger and only told us about 15 minutes after we ordered. They also ran out of shrimp empanadas. It took over 2 hours for us to get our main meals. They brought them out one by one and many plates were cold. You'd expect hot food for one by one service and for waiting 2 hours to get food. They also had no idea what we ordered or who ordered what so they just asked the table at large. Just seems sloppy and not organized at all. Someone came by three times asking us all if anyone ordered pork belly tacos which no one did. We said no each time but they kept coming back. It made us wonder if the last couple plates were put in incorrectly. I finished my entire meal before the last plate got out to the last person waiting. A lot got bagged to go. The entire meal took 3 hours. The food tasted pretty good overall, the bone marrow didn't disappoint, but they have a lot of kinks they need to work out before I'll consider coming back. read more

So last night was our 4th time here. Only because my friend wanted to go here for dinner. The first time my husband and I came was the second day they were open and we were very impressed and especially with the ambiance which is top notch. It's absolutely beautiful inside. The second, third and last night, just not good. The third time we came, my husband ordered the pecante tacos. While they were delicious and tasty, they were extremely tough and had grizzle running through the pieces. So bad that you could barely chew them. And they're not cheap. Last night I came with my friend and I decided to order the piccata tacos again because they were so yummy and I was thinking maybe the last time was just a one off. My friend ordered them as well. While we were eating, my friend made the comment that she could barely chew them because there was so much fat and string in the center of them. I had already been thinking the same thing about mine, but didn't want to say anything to her. It was so disappointing that both of us each ate two of the four tacos. So let's get to the four tacos a little bit more. They are so unbelievably expensive. $44 for four street tacos with low grade beef that you can't even chew And cut so thick that it's about a quarter of an inch thick for each piece. Each taco has one slice of beef on it. Yes that's right. 4 tiny street tacos for $44. I also ordered the Elote corn. It was soggy and chewy like it had been pre-cooked and sitting in a refrigerator and then thrown back into hot water to heat it up. It was really bad. Not sure if other people have experienced this as well. My friend and I also each got a cocktail. The total bill was $88 each after 20% tip. That's insane! Although this place is so pretty inside I'm definitely over it. It's just too expensive and the cocktails are not good. I would probably be happy to pay that amount if the food was great. I have tried their cocktails each time I've been here and each time has been a different one. Just not good. No flavor and just alcohol taste. Last night I decided to order one of their mocktails which sounded delicious because it had like four different fruits in it. I think it was some kind Mule. I added Tito's to it and they charged me $12 just for the shot of Tito's on top of the $8 for the mocktail. it looked beautiful, but it just didn't taste great. I could tell my friend felt the same way because she also drank a little more than half of hers. She loves her cocktails! This one just didn't hit the Mark. It's very unfortunate because I was so excited to have an high-end upscale restaurant in my neighborhood. It's such a beautiful place and has so much potential. I just can't get over them charging $44 for four street tacos that have low-grade beef in them. I also noticed that several of the other reviewers have mentioned the same exact issue. Tough and chewy beef. Nobody wants that and definitely not when they're paying high-end prices. Please choose a different beef Origen. I reviewed the menu before hand, there was a happy hour menu that I thought would be good for the timing my friend and I were supposed to meet, unfortunately the server advised they weren't accommodating the happy hour menu at the moment, pretty disappointed. Luckily there is a Crust right across the street so we went there instead. I would suggest offering the happy hour menu that's listed online and maybe adding more options to the happy hour menu, restaurants thrive off of happy hour, with that said, maybe I'll consider going back for a special occasion and the prices might seem fair. read more

We decided to stop by for a cocktail and appetizers right before the dinner crowd tumbled in. We sat at the bar, it was a martini kind of day so I ordered one it came with sliced olives. The ambience was nice, I could see that they poured some money into this place. But they should have poured money into training the staff, discombobulated and lost. I even had to open a bottle of wine for the bartender due to the cork breaking inside the bottle. However, we were suggested the octopus appetizer which my partner and I have had in the past at other restaurants and it was always really good however their octopus was soooooooo dry and hard and was like hard to chew and get down. After we mentioned it to the bartender, he didn't really try to help us out or offer something else so it was basically a waste of $32. DONT GET THE OCTOPUS THERE! First and last experience. Party of 4 for dinner with a reservation. Waited a few minutes before seated. Waitress Jules was very attentive, offered menu suggestions and was actually the best thing about the experience. For $354 I should have gotten a meal I actually enjoyed at Ruth Chris or Maestros. We ordered the ribeye, skirt steak, picanha tacos, mac & cheese, cabbage, elote, guac and a few drinks. Soft drinks (sprite) charged per drink $8 for 2 cans of soda. Cabbage was good but served a piece with the core still in it which is hard and not edible. Mac & cheese was good but nothing to write home about. Guac was pretty bland. Elote is 1 ear of corn cut into 3 pieces for $14. The skirt and ribeye had good flavor cooked close enough to what was requested (medium). The picanha tacos were basically fat tacos. The small strips of steak had so much fat I had to take the meat out of each taco for my child and cut the large chunks of fat off. The table is too small for the plate sizes and place settings that are preset : bread & butter plate, silverware, huge wine glass and water glass. You have to play tetris to fit the entrees, sides, appetizer , BB plates & glassware on the table at the same time.
