I asked if the salad could be put on the side rather than in the bowl and was given a full side salad that I wound up mixing into my rice lol. I also added broccoli to the bowl, which I probably wouldn't do again because it was pretty bland, but overall the bowl was good. Now the vegan dumplings... were FANTASTIC! We shared the dumplings and everyone agreed that they were easily the best thing that we had eaten the whole day. I had gotten their char sui pork bao (they named it chashu like the Japanese pork used in Tonkatsu ramen), Taiwanese fried chicken, and the HongKong wonton noodle soup... and let me tell you! It's all great! The Taiwanese fried chicken is crispy yet the chicken is so juicy and flavorful. Seasoned beautifully with a hint of that Chinese 5 spice in the batter recipe and served popcorn style with a sweet and sour dipping sauce makes for a very good starter The bao bun is light. Not much of a fan of the char sui pork as it was cut bologne thin yet held almost no flavor and the cucumber used was a bit off putting so wasn't a fan of the bao, at least not the chashu version. The HongKong wonton Noodle soup is amazing!!! The broth was savory, rich, yet seeing that the base of the broth is wonton soup broth, it was also light and super clean and deeply flavorful. Maybe it's the MSG but that's an Asian staple seasoning. They did give large chunks of roast pork and about 4 shumai dumplings in the broth. The noodles were thin and cooked to perfection. What set this right even more so was the addition of chili oil. Bummed they didn't have Chinese black vinegar but I think that's just me being snobby. Shrimp Curry Udon - Classic Japanese curry: slightly sweet, super rich, and bold. Sauce coats every udon perfectly. Shrimp tempura a bit over-fried, slightly chewy, but tonkatsu-style breadcrumbs gave it a nice crunch. 8.5/10 Yakisoba - Generous portion for the price! Sauce has that tangy, fruity flavor I remember from Tokyo. Beef lightly seasoned. Personally, tangy noodles aren't my favorite, but Tokyo street-style lovers will enjoy. 8/10 Hibachi (Hambāgu) - Grilled Japanese hamburger steak, fried rice, sautéed veggies.
