Started visiting this location a lot recently. Best for lunch, dinner gets kind of crowded and loud. Service is very friendly and I already feel like a regular with the lunch staff. We have had good experiences for dinner too but I do not like the wait. Macaroni and cheese appetizer is really good. Be informed it has chipotle (I think) and it has a bit of a kick. This was the first time I've ever had a bad experience at an Oreganos location. Overall the chain exceeds expectations. The pros: The artichoke dip was delicious. The cons: The server did not take our drink orders until we had already ordered food, my lasagna was burned, there was hair in my husband's food, and there was caked on food and a dead ant in my water glass. Thanks to a good friend who brought me here for dinner, I was able to experience this cute little spot! It was a warm night and we opted to be seated outside so that we could take advantage of the great weather. I was in a pizza type of mood and decided with the help of our awesome server that I was going to order some thin crust. But before talking about the pizza, I have to talk about our appetizer first: BOOM Dip: Named after our infamous Kaboom Room, it's a delicious concoction of spinach, artichokes and cheeses served with our Italian chips for dipping. If you like Spinach and Artichoke dip, then this is going to be right up your alley.-- It's oozing of melted cheese and artichoke and the chips are large enough to hold globs of dip into your mouth. I loved this stuff and if you didn't take it away then I probably could have kept on eating it. Clark Street Meat Pizza: (straight from the menu) It's the spicy meat lover's pizza that keeps on giving. It's loaded with our Chicago sausage, capicolla, salami, garlic, mozzarella, oregano, chili flakes, Parmesan and parmano cheeses, then finished with fresh basil and more parmano. You won't remember your name after a night with this hottie.--I ordered the medium size and it was enough to feed about three people at the least. The only reason I'm taking off one star is because it was a bit salty for my tastes. Other than that, they didn't skimp on toppings. What made this place truly stand out was our server Lily (If I have her name wrong, please forgive me!!). Hate to leave negative reviews.... Buyer beware. If you order a deep dish and they get it wrong. Guess what? Ding ding ding. You got it. You are outta luck. You can wait another 45 mins or so waiting for your pizza to be remade while you eat a comped appetizer or salad... Mistakes for this establishment are very unforgiving. I appreciate they tried to make it right. But. After all that waiting... The pizza itself was petty disappointing and very much MEH. Can't say the pizza is good at all. So sad... Last two times I've been there I've been extremely disappointed so I'm pretty much not going back. It wasn't great service wasn't great and ordering a drink at the bar before I was seated and treated like a criminal (acting like I'm not gonna pay for my drink) really made my dining experience un pleasurable. Also The last two times the food was really bad so I'm done. SO....the manager or ?? wrote a response asking me to contact him so I can communicate what did happen during the last visits.... so it sounds awfully like he cares, and wants to know, so I did reach out and contact him and politely told him the details of what happened...but after 5 days I have received no communication / response from my email. So it leads me to believe that the mangers response via yelp was to make it looked like he cared? Not sure...seems that way now..... so like I said..... 2 bad experiences....2 wrong / not good pizzas.....and bad service....I'm done....for 25$+ pizza, I can go other places, and I will. read more

We all understand COVID has changed how we support our local restaurants and how it has changed how the operate. After ordering from Oreganos 10 times in the past three months, I have to share that It's time to break up with Oreganos. This breakup is definitely them and not me. The food here has always been my favorite but they have always struggled with takeout. Cold, undercooked, late, missing items, just to name a few of the challenges. The staff was always apologetic but the issue is that it has never changed. This week I tried twice, once ordering via the app for pick up and then last night via Door Dash. Via the App- 11:45 AM on Tuesday ordered a salad and garlic bread, pretty easy and was given a pick up time of 12:15. When I arrived at 12:15, the order was not ready and was not even started yet. They said their system said it was for 12:45 - when the email confirmation said 12:15. Talked with the manager and she apologized but this had happened before at the Surprise location, almost exactly. Then the event that caused the break up, Saturday 7:50 PM. Ordered two Zany Ziti's, garlic bread and a small thin pizza. Door Dash limits you a TON when ordering from here, so no edits to sauces, etc. food arrived about an hour after it was placed (pretty good), but when we opened the food, it was really undercooked. Both the bread bowl and the meatballs in the ziti were not fully cooked. Not just cold in temperature but meat was not cooked all the way through and the bread bowl was still doughy. Again, contacted door dash and they offered to fix the situation by having it remade and delivered but Oreganos was already closed for the night and could not assist (8:50 -location closed at 9pm). Thus today, I have had some stomach and other issues, things you don't want to share. You get the point, they are a great spot for dine in and you should stay away from pick up or delivery, it's just not something they can do well. Always great always fresh! Oregano's is a Az landmark and we love it! Just try and avoid the dinner rush 6-8pm practically you will be waiting upwards of an hour or more. Like most Oregano's the interiors are always full of classic fun memorabilia and old tvs playing awesome classic movies in random corners of the restaurant ceilings. The thin crust pizza is my favorite but you can't wrong with most items on the menu. Bon Appetite! read more

Usually love oreganos but something about our last visit was not good. Our server was nice but service was slow. We ordered a pizza for our kids, they complained and said it tasted funny, I brushed it off at dinner but the next day I had the left overs and the pizza did taste off, almost like the sauce was expired or something. One word, YUM! In addition to the meatballs and Brussels sprouts, I sampled the guaca-tony, ordered by my friend. The Brussels sprouts were very flavorful. The meatballs were moist and the sauce was very good. They were a bit too generous with the cheese, but I am not complaining. I highly recommend the guaca-tony. Ordered from Oreganos on Shea a number of times never an issue with the order. Tried this location twice and both times the got the order wrong. First experience- we place a pick up order when we got there at specific time they gave up I was told it would be a few minutes.... 30 minutes later they told me "we had the order but didn't make the pizzas, we will fly them" (I guess a term used to make them fast). Got the pizzas home and they were not cooked to order. Second experience- picked pizzas up ok but again WAY undercooked. I get it's COVID and places are working with less staff, stress levels are high, times are tough, etc. but, communication is the key. Let customers know what to expect. Bottom line- we will be picking up our pizzas on Shea. read more

Oreganos is a local Italian chain here in Arizona that does simple Italian extra big. From pasta to sandwiches, wings and salads Oreganos offers something for everyone, providing you have an appetite. While the service is always solid, and the food is great be aware that whether you are coming on a date, or a business party, there is going to be a wait at most times of the day. Also be prepared for a loud interior atmosphere. As for the food, i've yet to be disappointed. I would go out of my way to recommend the Wings and The Stuffed Mushrooms however. Like getting seated, their pizzas take time, but they are also humungous like everything else. Great for feeding a large group with an appetizer or large salad on the side. This is a great place to come beat the AZ heat, but it has it's quirks when it comes to wait time and serving size. While they don't deliver themselves they are an awesome place to get something picked up by Uber Eats or to come grab yourself on your way home for a nice hot and filling meal. read more

I don't do reviews often but this was that bad. First time trying this chain, my kids school had a fundraiser. Got the baked ziti in a bread bowl to go. The pasta was cold/lukewarm at best and extremely dry. The bread bowl was hard as a rock, completely inedible as is. For a dish close to $15 I expected a whole lot more. Sausage sandwich had just the right amount of fennel, although if it were about 2 bucks cheaper they'd have gained the extra star. For a 10 buck sandwich I often have something to take home, but I didn't here. Fast and courteous service and Nina answered all my questions which is always helpful when it's the first time visiting a restaurant. What can I say? It was weird. For starters our appetizer came out before our drinks. The cheesy garlic bread was very delicious. The menu was all over the place. From guacamole to chicken wings. But it all tasted fine. The main issue was the timing of everything. It was an hour and fifteen before the main dishes came. They ran out of cups and brought our refills in paper cups but the straws were plentiful. Very weird smell in the hallway towards the bathroom. The homemade ice cream at the end was wonderful, not to be upstaged by the warm cookie. We had a group of 7 and got a large Bambino salad (a very robust salad!), an appetizer and 2 large tasty pizza's (we could have done 1 pizza and would not have been hungry, but no left overs!). Reasonable prices too...... So why 4 stars not 5? Well they have on line waiting list on YELP..... We thought that is great as we had tickets to the Herberger (Live theater downtown for those not in Phoenix), and would be on a time constraint. But then when we went to use it, it only allows for a party of 6. So we called and they said if you do 6 and show up with 7, we have to put you back on the bottom of the list......... They need to fix it, remove the feature or at the very least give some explanation IMHO...................... read more

I have to stop ordering from Oregano's. Once again, I have come home only to be completely disappointed with their product. I ordered online, 1 hour and 45 minutes before I wanted to pick up a 2 ingredient pan pizza. I arrived at 5:28PM, 2 minutes before I requested the order to be ready. I'm told it will be a few minutes. 15 minutes later, I ask again. I'm told it will be 20 more minutes. At this point I ask why do they offer advanced ordering AND time selections, if it's not even a rough approximation of when my food will be ready. I'm told a manager will come to speak to me. 3 more minutes and my pizza arrives with the manager saying sorry for delay, but wait for a gift card. Now, in my head, I'm wondering, if I'm first told it will be 20 more minutes, but my pizza miraculously arrives in 2 minutes, AND, I'm being offered a gift card before I even leave, what could possibly be wrong with my pizza. I go home, traveling the less than 1 mile drive, in about 3 minutes. I open the pizza and notice it's color seems to be a bit pale, as if it hadn't been cooked fully. Now, I don't know about anyone else, but I love the hot, almost volcanic temperature of fresh, just out of the oven, pizza. This, however, was not one of those times. It was the perfect temperature if you like pizza that has been sitting on the counter for an hour, but no where near the temperature of pan pizza weighing more than 3 pounds, just fresh out the oven. This is not the first time I have been disappointed with my pickup order, but, I'm guessing it will be my last. I'd rather give my money to a local Arizona business, but, when I can order online from Domino's, the pizza is ready when requested, plus it's still too hot to eat when I get it home after picking it up, I'm going to save myself all kinds of irritation, and order from Domino's. Maybe when Covid is over, and I can return to dine-in, I will try Oregano's again. TL:DR Oregano's kitchen can't tell time. The food is tasty and savory but what I didn't like is that unless you order from the lunch menu you cannot order a side salad( ridiculous rule) and for the prices they charge the restaurant should include complimentary bread, so instead I had to put in an order for bread which I'll be charged for. First time trying this place and it didn't really start off impressing me. I got here around noon and was sealed immediately on the porch area. Our waiter came around pretty quickly and took our drink order. Since this was our first time trying this place out, we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. I decided on the Zany Ziti which is ziti in a bread bowl. The pasta was delicious, however I wouldn't suggest trying to eat the bread bowl as it was really hard, dry, and had no taste to it so I ended up not eating any of it. The Zany Ziti came with a slice of garlic bread which was soft and seasoned well. My reason for giving this place a 3 star is because of the long wait from when we were seated to when our food came out. We got here right before the big rush came and we still waited 45 minutes for our food. Was about to ask where it was when they finally brought it out. Large groups that came after I did got their food way before my food, so obviously food wasn't brought out in the order that they were placed. Our waiter was very pleasant and very knowledgeable of the menu. He came around often to check up on us, to refill drinks, make sure food was how we liked it, etc. When it came to pay, he was quick to bring our check and cash us out. BAD SERVICE. FOOD POISONING. UNDERCOOKED FOOD. Health grade: F The moment our party waited for over 90 minutes for seats, was disastrous (were told 30-45min). Advice for the hostess, do not sugarcoat times. The Yelp app was also wrong on the updated waitlist times. At the time of seating, the hostess called our group from outside and sped walked to the table to place menu's down without anyone following her. She walked so fast, we had to ask her walking back towards us, where the heck she put us. Once seated, the waiter (Gus), informed our table he'll be with us in a moment - as he takes off without drink/appetizer orders. Meanwhile, half of our table did not sit due to the seats (and table) being covered with food. I know this isn't Steak 44, but nobody wants to sit on fresh spaghetti. Half our table stood for SIX MINUTES until Gus returned, questioning if everything is OK. We requested someone to come clean the cushions. Gus returns 2 minutes later with a hand towel. FYI - when using a hand towel, use HOT water not cold as it'll dry faster. Service Issue: Although upset with the service, we treated our waiter with respect and positivity. The waiter did opposite with us. We waited on drinks refills for a period of 15 minutes. Previously when dining with Oregano's, the child in our group were offered dough to make their own pizza. This time dining, the waiter did not offer this; however, he offered the pizza dough to 2 children behind us. Perhaps because they only had one more additional child than us. As we've waited 90 minutes in the heat outside, we were prepared to order our entire meal. As an appetizer, we ordered zucchini and wings. We specifically requested the wings to be EXTRA CRISPY and requested to cook for an additional 15 minutes. The wings came out 10 minutes later. I'm no mathematician, but how can the wings be served, faster than the additional request time? The wings were completely undercooked, ultimately suffering from food poisoning. As an entree, we ordered the chicken parmesan. The chicken, noodles and cheese were stale. Curious why he delivered the dish saying, "be careful, hot plate." Nothing was hot about it. This dish had been sitting on the counter for delivery for several minutes or intentionally left to harden. As an entree, we ordered the Stuffed Pizza. We were told it would take approximately one hour to make. The waiter cautioned our table on ordering this as if it's a burden to put in the request to the kitchen staff. We placed the order anyhow, but upon delivery to the table, it appeared to be a pan pizza. We questioned our waiter - if this is the PAN pizza opposed to the STUFFED pizza. He assured us it was stuffed and informed us on how it was made. The disappointing factor, Oregano's online menu (and Yelp) pictures, the dish is filled to the top with ingredients. Our dish was filled half way with the crust noticeably visible. The problem didn't stop there, the pan-stuffed pizza was COLD and the pepperoni was NOT cooked. You're meaning to tell me, the wait time on a pizza is over an hour - to come out cold?? We will never dine with Oregano's restaurant, this location or any other. Caution and urge all the contact the Maricopa County Health Inspector if you've also experienced food poisoning. read more

We were greeted with a friendly face and accommodating service. We got to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Phoenix weather. The outdoor seating was spacious, clean, and well-lit during the evening. We shared the Pesto Penne Bake and a House Salad. All of which were delicious. The Penne Bake came in a large bread bowl. It was filled with pesto covered penne, tomato, basil, and topped with mozzarella cheese and sundried tomatoes. Between the two of us, we were stuffed and nearly finished it! We also asked for a side of marinara for dipping the bread bowl. The house salad wasn't anything special, but good appetizer before such a carb loaded entree. Our company had a 16" thin crust pizza. They ate nearly all of it between the two of them and the next morning, had the leftovers. I'm assuming that they wholeheartedly enjoyed the pizza. It took me a long time to get to Oregano's since it's a chain, but I'm glad I finally did get to try it! It's definitely a cool place, especially for large groups. The food is very reasonably priced with LARGE portions. It is also very vegetarian (but NOT vegan) friendly which greatly surprises me! We ordered Oreganos for pick up 2 days ago. We took advantage of their family dinner. It was delicious! I miss going out with family to Oreganos since it's our favorite place but I'm grateful that they have curbside pick up. I called in my order, paid over the phone and my husband pick it up without having to get out of the car.
