Longtime customer at Oregano's. Went to the restaurant at PV Mall after a long week at work. Just needed to catch my breath and have a good meal. Ended up with the personal pan pizza and the Oregano's favorite with chicken. I mixed it up asking for the salad to be dry and to toss the chicken in Buffalo sauce. Food came out perfect and my server, Kathy, never let my drink go dry even though she was slammed with customers. Perfect end to my week. read more

We have not had Oregano's in over 5 months and were craving pizza. we ordered 2 pizzas, 2 salads and a guacatoni....the pizza was awful! Apparently Oregano's changed hands 4 months ago and the new owners decided to change the pizza, the one thing that makes Oregano's Pizza Oregano's. Time to change the name also, the pizza tastes like frozen pizza. so incredibly disappointing! I have catered OREGANO's for over 20 years in my previous job almost 3 times a week, never eating here again...so sad! read more

Our server, Nixa, made our experience! She split our checks up, as requested, among 11 guests without a hiccup. She was efficient, fast, and friendly. She never made us wait unrealistically for drinks, food, or take-out boxes. She was courteous and served us with a smile. My Meatballs were good, however, other people at our party were disappointed with the taste of the food. My daughter ordered the Oregano's Favorite Salad with no feta cheese. The lettuce was brown and looked a bit wilted. She stated it did not taste 100% fresh. My sister ordered the BISTRO CALAMARI, which was soggy and limp. My mother ordered food and she commented that it just was not that great. They have also changed their signature GUACA-TONY dish considerably. You do not get as many pizza crust chips (the size is now disappointing), whereas you used to get an entire pizza-sized crust. read more

In used to love this place when the original location in old town went in. It was great, pitchers of beer, thick deep dish pizza in multiple sizes, their wings were all drumettes. Menus were on old records. All of this is gone or changed. Slowly as they expanded things went downhill. Everything is watered down and feels corporate. Below was our latest and last order we will ever make, you know it is bad when the family says, I thought you were getting deep dish? Confusing it for their thin crust, pictured is the last(and thickest slice) out of both pies, had we dined in I'm pretty sure the dishes would look empty. First time I've tried this Oregano's. I had the house salad with a honey balsamic dressing that was delicious the salad was huge! I ordered the Italian wings. Which were heavily covered in a sweet Tangy sauce which had a tiny bite to it. They were good but make sure you have tons of napkins. We went here for my sons birthday today and I'm sad to say we had a terrible time here tonight. We were seated by a host that literally threw our five menus on the table and walked away. Our waiter seemed a bit friendly at first, but then seemed quite hurried as he tried to leave several times before we had all ordered. Our drinks took quite awhile to arrive. Our food came out at all different times. We did have some appetizers, and they did come first, but also with two salads that were entrees. Then part of the other meals arrived, but we had ordered a pizza as well. We hadn't seen our waiter again, other people dropped our food off. I asked one of them about the pizza and she said she would check on it, and never came back. Our pizza arrived a full 15 minutes after the other entrees. The food was just ok. We still had never seen our waiter again. Drinks were empty, including water, he never came to see if we had everything or needed anything. Our waiter walked by quite awhile later and asked if we needed boxes, still didn't refill a drink or anything. We had told our waiter it was my sons birthday when we arrived, and he never even asked if we wanted to order dessert at the end of our meal. Everyone was aggravated and ready to leave at this point anyway, but I thought it was odd he didn't ask. Our waiter did return with boxes and our bill, and then never came back to run the card. While waiting I was looking over the receipt, we were charged for adding chicken to an entree which we hadn't done and pointed out when our food arrived and they said it would be taken off the bill, it wasn't. I also ordered a small salad and received a large salad, which we were charged for. Just more aggravation but we were so exasperated I didn't even bring it up. After waiting another 15 minutes my son got up and took it to him so we could finally pay and leave. It was really a terrible experience. read more

Not really sure why it took so long, but with the Mall going in soon, they better get their act together. I stopped eating at oregano's 6 years ago because of the bad service. I finally gave it a try again, and unfortunately nothing has changed and I won't be back. Food wasn't bad it just wasn't great. I have eaten at various locations of oregano's for years and always loved it. Today my coworkers and I decided to try the one in North Scottsdale off the 101. What a disappointment. We ordered pizza, a lunch special that allows you to order a mini pizza with two toppings. What I got was Joe with maybe 1 tablespoon of sausage, onion, and cheese. The flavor was horrible. I'm not sure if this was a fluke, or this is the way the pizzas come now. Are used to love oregano's pizza. Too bad. Going the way of other restaurants who really just don't care. Ordered dinner last night using Doordash, fulfilled by this location, unfortunately when it arrived our two meals didn't include the meat ordered. I got the Alfredo the dark with two sausages and my wife got spaghetti with meat balls and meat sauce. No sausage, no meatballs. When I called the store to discuss my frustration with this and see if they could help, the general manager Sam just said we should take it up with doordash ... she wouldn't take responsibility, refused to help in any way, and clearly didn't care that they sent out two incomplete meals. Her only suggestion was just to complain to doordash and reorder - at our own cost, and wait another hour for delivery. That was it. Super bummer and we'll no longer be confident ordering Oreganos since they obviously don't care about the orders being prepared or sent out correctly. read more

First of all, I hope everyone reading this is doing alright and feeling ok. XO This quarantine is something else, huh? Much love to you all. So Oregano's... tonight we ordered the "Family Night Special" (to-go, obviously. Also, the special ends tomorrow night). It consists of 2 main pastas, one big salad and a pizza cookie for $29.99. We were stoked because typically we can't leave Oregano's for less than $50 no matter how hard we try. (We have a Family of 4 and we love side dishes ). So tonight we ordered the Big Rig pasta, Alfredo the Dark, the Pablo Picasso salad, the chocolate chip pizza Cookie and then, in normal fashion for us, we ordered the Mama's mac-n-cheese and a Bellini (in addition to the special). I know businesses are going under, people are losing their jobs and their livelihoods and right now it's crazy all around the world. So I wasn't sure what to expect. **Here's what I want you to know ... what you order right now at Oregano's will not be the same as dining in just a couple months ago.** I'm very happy that Oregano's seems to be doing well with dine in being closed. When I called to order our take out special I was put on hold for 10 minutes, the girl who finally answered said they were slammed. Awesome! I was so happy for them. BUT ... full disclosure, the food isn't the same. Times are hard, no big deal, but you should know when you're spending $40+ buckaroonies. Here's what we found when we brought the food home: The portions are insanely tiny (anyone who eats at Oregano's knows the portions are amazing and huge), the Pablo Picasso salad (which is typically stuffed full of goodies) was just lettuce, tortilla strips, sparsely chopped tomatoes and little bits of shredded cheddar cheese. Normally this salad is heaping and full of shredded chicken, cojita, veggies and yumminess. The Alfredo the Dark was also small and was practically tasteless (I was shocked. I've never used "tasteless" and "Oregano's" in the same sentence. I added pepper and salt which I've never had to do at Oregano's), the Big Rig was also small, it tasted a bit better but still a little off. The Mama's Mac was the biggest portion (just like dining in) and was the cheapest. (I wish we had just ordered 3 of these and called it a night). The Bellini was delicious but be forewarned, it's $7 for a typical to-go cup. The cookie was macadamia nut not the chocolate chip that we ordered but thankfully no one in my family is allergic to nuts. All in all, we understood that restaurants are just trying to stay alive right now but we were surprised at the drastic change in quality when the prices are the same and no one said "due to corona some dishes may be altered" as we've seen elsewhere. Bottom line, we're not necessarily disappointed given what's going on but I still wanted everyone out there to know, your to-go order will not be even remotely the same as in normal times. I really don't like giving low reviews but this place is just... not good. And the service is sloooooooooooooow. On this dinner visit we walked in and were promptly seated. Our waitress greeted us after a couple of minutes and was super friendly. We already knew what we wanted to order and she advised me the o'zone takes about 20 minutes. I was cool with that so we proceeded with our order. Then it all kind of went downhill. We waited much much longer than 20 minutes. Tables came and left in the time it took for us to receive our meal and pay quickly after. Our waitress was doing the best she could. She was constantly running from table to table and did check in on us, thanking us for our patience. She was clearly texting her best but it was a pretty steady night. The thing is, every time I've been dragged in here it's been the same situation. The reason this review goes to a two.. the food. It's not even that good. I'm sorry, I've tried to like it, I really have, but it's all pretty blah and never sits well with me either. Who goes to a pizza place for a salad? This girl does! The Pablo Picasso Mexican Salad is to die for. Just look at all this:Fajita chicken, fresh Romaine blend, cotija, cheddar and a four cheese blend, all mixed with fresh cilantro, tomatoes and onion and tossed in a slightly spicy chipotle ranch dressing and mixed with tri-colored corn strips. if you are a vegetarian you can sub pinto beans for the chicken. I lean towards a vegetarian diet and am not usually a fan of chicken in my salad, but there is something about this chicken that just makes this dish. Yes, you will wait to get a table, yes you will wait to get your pizza (that is why I get the salad!) They even warn you that it takes time to get the pizza, so be patient! Honestly, you should just get the salad. Order an appetizer to go with, such as, the boom dip (spinach / artichoke dip) or the kick butt garlic bread - It is a huge loaf, but believe me you will take it all down! Literally so good! We're visiting from out of town and the hotel concierge recommended it to us as a casual, kid friendly place. Food was delicious and staff was super attentive. My 7 year old is on the severe end of the autism spectrum and going out to eat is difficult for her. Not only did she love the food (she is very picky) but they were super accommodating to her non-typical behavior - which did my heart good! Get the guaca-tony appetizer! Lunch is our tried-and-true time to go and enjoy the famous Bollo Pasta. It's ever delicious with marinara, pesto, meatball, sausage, chicken - whatever one is in the mood for. We are traveling from out of town and had been recommended we try Oregano's. We saw mixed reviews online, but gave it a try anyways. We pulled into the parking lot and it was full. There was a wait to be seated. We felt like these were good signs. They did get us seated pretty quickly and did rush out our toddlers food, but that was the end of our good experience. Child's mac n cheese has green chilies. I get that this is how the adult mac n cheese is made, but we didn't see that until after we ordered. No mention in the kids menu or by our waitress. Who would expect green chilies in the kids mac n cheese?? Our daughter hated it. Our son luckily ate some of it. I ordered the chicken parm. I basically get this anytime I'm eating Italian. It was trash. The noodles were dry and over cooked. The chicken didn't have Italian breading, but a simple flour with next to no seasoning. The sauce was sparse. I asked for extra, but did not get it. The little sauce that I had wasn't great. It was overly sweet. My wife ordered the baked ziti. The noodles were rigatoni, and crumbly, the sauce was tasteless, the bread bowl it came in was just a big cracker. She had 3 bites and didn't eat anything else. They asked if we wanted Parmesan cheese to top our pasta, you know table side, and we said yes. The waitress brought out a big tub of the bagged, pre-shredded cheese. This is coated with something to help prevent the cheese from melting and sticking together. It doesn't melt well. Especially just topped over pasta. No fresh shredded cheese? I get nostalgic, there are places I love to eat back home that I grew up with that I know aren't the best, but I've acquired a love and appreciation for them. This oreganos has its ups and downs, but today I ran in to see what the wait would be for 4 plus a Highchair, the couple in front of me got a 15 minute wait time but the host told me it was 45-1 hour... which as a former hostess is absolutely crazy, I asked about a 4 top (I'd just hold my kid in my lap) and she told me the same time... the online weight however was 15-22 and my husband called back and asked about the weight for 4 and was told 15-20 as well so it seems like maybe they just didn't want our business. If you look closely, Oregano's is doing something right. All the employees seem to like working here. They're always smiling and they get to wear those clever shirts that say "Legalize Marinara." This is a well-oiled machine in which employees obviously are trained the right way. Everyone knows his or her place and no one is standing by idle, looking bored. Despite a wait time that often exceeds an hour, they do a great job of keeping guests relatively content and turning tables with efficiency. Drinks are refilled quickly, food is brought out hot, and hostesses are quick to greet you. As a case study in restaurant operations, Oregano's doesn't miss a beat. At a time of many restaurants not having enough staff, this is impressive! I like both the pan pizza and thin-crust pizzas. The seasoning is really great (reminds me a lot of authentic pizza in Italy) and they have oodles of toppings to choose from. For the thin crust, I like the Clark Street Meat Pizza. It's the spicy meat pizza that keeps on giving. It's loaded with Chicago sausage, capicola, salami, garlic, oregano, chili flakes, Wisconsin, Parmesan, and Parmano cheeses, then finished with fresh basil. The flavor is really great! Another thing I love at Oregano's is the chicken wings. Perfectly made and offered in six tasty flavors: Big Bub's Dry Rub, Italian Gold, Marvelous Medium, Pretty Hot, Sweet N' Spicy, Yahoo BBQ. The chicken is of good quality. Honestly, just ordering a couple of baskets of these can be a meal in and of itself. All of the locations are nicely decorated and there is always something to look at. The only downside besides the long wait time is that it can get a little loud, no matter at lunch or dinner. The acoustics are not the best and this is not a place for a quiet conversation. It is better for a celebration! The restaurant has a real vibe and all ages can feel welcome at Oregano's. Speaking of celebrations, the cocktail menu is extensive and original. Grandpa Joe's Greyhound is a mix of vodka and grapefruit juice that is truly refreshing -- not to mention strong! Oh how far Oregano's has fallen. The establishment that once served delectable pizza now serves pies that are now similar to the quality of Dominos on a bad day. The pizza was so over cooked that it tasted sour and my appetite was immediately lost. Luckily the garlic-cheesy bread was delicious, but honestly that's difficult to mess up. I used to love this place. Tonight was a huge disappointment. The cheese tasted moldy on the pizza, the calamari tasted like cheap frozen calamari I'd get at a bar, the kale Caesar and Pazookie were just okay, the only item we somewhat enjoyed were the wings. The topper was when I was walking my daughter to the bathroom she walked into a high bar table right into her forehead (the tables are in a narrow hallway) and I am sure it would not be ADA compatible. (She could have lost an eye had it only been half an inch over- she now has a giant welt on her forehead.) If you are going to put tables that block a hallway- at least put a edge topper or use bright colors ~the green tables blends right into the atmosphere. I love the atmosphere and I REALLY want to love this place, as I came here for many years- but after tonight I am unsure if I would give it another chance. :/ I am giving two stars as I like the atmosphere- but I would give it one star for the food. read more

What an awful experience. Crazy, insane loud. Crazy, insane crowded. Crazy, insane busy server. Our server was so busy she gave us anxiety. When we asked if they were short staffed, she told us that this was normal for a MONDAY night. Add to that they DON'T HAVE BUSSERS. The waitstaff busses their own tables. One of my absolute favorites. Consistently high standards and service is over the top--professional and friendly. We eat here at least once a week and always feel welcome and valued. The Pablo Picasso salad never disappoints!! The wings are really good and we love the side order of their proprietary sausage with marinara and cheese; best sausage hands down of anywhere in arizona! Of course the pizookie is amazing too! We really can't say anything but good about everything on the menu. While the pricing is moderate and affordable for most, the service is five star! Was checking through Yelp as to what time the restaurant closed and noticed that it listed a wait time and gave me an option to use "Nowait wait list" so I tried it and was impressed that we did not have to wait as we arrived. Started off as we sat down by ordering the 12" stuffed pizza with Sausage and Pepperoni as was told it would take 45 to 50 minutes. Also ordered Pene Pasta which came with a good slice of Italian Bread. Finally ordered deep fried zucchini. After reading the Azcentral review that listed as one of the best deep dish or stuffed pizza and oregano was listed, had to try it. Was totally in disagreement to this stuffed pizza being top five. Pizza was very wet and soggy and on top of that did not taste very much if any sausage or pepperoni. The outer crust was not bad but it was just too soggy with alot of tomato sauce and cheese which is not a good combination for my stomach. The pasta was ordered with butter and that is what we got because my daughter had her 4 wisdom teeth removed 5 days prior. The deep fried zucchini was also not the best I have had and borderlined being frozen not fresh tasting. WASTE OF TIME. TERRIBLE SERVICE & WAIT FOR ONLINE PICK UP!!! I ORDERED MY ONLINE PICK UP AT 10AM IN THE MORNING FOR 6PM PICK UP. I ARRIVED AT 5:55 AND IT STILL WASNT READY TIL 7PM. Hard to believe they had my order for 8 hours and still started to cook it 30 minutes late.... 2 Alfredo the darks... that's it lol Yes I stupidly waited an entire hour with two kids in the car for pasta smh. During my personal 60 minute wait, I witness an embarrassment of unorganized chaos amongst online/phone order pick up and delivery pick ups. For 30 minutes they had one mixed line of everybody picking up food even tho the had two signs up indicating two separate lines for better flow but no employee enforced it. This had people and dashers picking up online into the parking lot as cars drive in and out for parking... smart. I also, met a fellow online order goer who were before me and waited 45 minutes for a pick up as new comers joked with us that they JUST ordered and there food was ready upon arrival (At least a handful). The people during the wait were nice given the circumstances. Lastly, whoever manages or supervises take out is a coward and questionable at their job. Bad nights happen so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I waited an extra 20 Minutes and specifically asked to speak with you regarding these instances and you cowardly threw a pizza cookie in the bag and blew me off. Never was I loud, confrontational, verbal or aggressive. I literally waited as people came and went with their orders and said nothing. But for you dodge me and to have your take out employees tell me you are too busy or make up some bs. Always great always fresh! Oregano's is a Az landmark and we love it! Just try and avoid the dinner rush 6-8pm practically you will be waiting upwards of an hour or more. Like most Oregano's the interiors are always full of classic fun memorabilia and old tvs playing awesome classic movies in random corners of the restaurant ceilings. This was the first time I've ever had a bad experience at an Oreganos location. Overall the chain exceeds expectations. The pros: The artichoke dip was delicious. The cons: The server did not take our drink orders until we had already ordered food, my lasagna was burned, there was hair in my husband's food, and there was caked on food and a dead ant in my water glass. It wasn't great service wasn't great and ordering a drink at the bar before I was seated and treated like a criminal (acting like I'm not gonna pay for my drink) really made my dining experience un pleasurable.
