Pizza
Danielle R.

Came here to celebrate my grandparents anniversary because it is their favorite restaurant and as always, did not disappoint. Oregano's delivered big time on the pizza. We ordered one (okay, maybe more than one) and it was everything you want -- you can tell they don't skimp on quality. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, and the staff made us feel right at home. If you're craving real-deal comfort food, Oregano's hits the spot. Pizza lovers -- this one's for you.

Big Rig Pasta
Joe R.

Stopped by Oregano's in Mesa and had to try their famous Big Rig Pasta -- and wow, it did not disappoint. It's the perfect mix of creamy, spicy, and comforting. The sauce is rich and flavorful, and the rigatoni was cooked just right. We added chicken, and it made the whole dish even more filling. The service is great despite it being busy, and ambiance was super welcoming and gave off an Italian vibe. Portions are generous, so definitely come hungry or be ready for leftovers (which taste just as good the next day). Oregano's never misses when you want bold flavors and big portions. Can't wait to come back and try more from the menu -- but the Big Rig might be hard to beat!

The plates left on our table as we were leaving. We were there over an hour. Please pre-bus!

Went for lunch today with my Son's. One son asked which pasta came on the Cajun chicken dish (its not listed) our server, Diamond said Fettucini. The dish came out with penne. He sent it back (now he has to wait for a new dish as we are all eating) I asked for 3 extra plates as we were sharing, never came. We asked the food runner who brought tiny app plates, (one which was dirty). I also asked for extra dressing for my salad, which never came until I asked a 2nd time. Our water was never refilled until asked. Most of this could have been over looked, but what really bothered me, was that no plates were ever taken off our table ( no pre bussing what so ever) not even the appetizer dishes. This bothered me to write this review. Oregano's, teach your staff better. Even the mess up wasn't even really addressed. Im a 20-30% tipper and was in the restaurant business for over 20 years. This was a mediocre experience. We have rated the service a 5/10. The food was a 8-9.

First of all our server Jake was awesome! There are plenty of food and beverage items to choose from, and the pricing is very reasonable. Everything we ordered came out fresh and hot and tasted great!

Fried Zucchini

It had been along time but Oreganos can still belt out some good food at a great price. The fried zucchini was lightly breaded and not full of grease and the ranch was good. I had the Big Beef Sandwich which was good, right amount of cheese and the meat was delicious. My boyfriend got the Hakuna Piccata and the chicken was also great and the breading was just right and chicken was moist. Our server Jake was great, fast and efficient and very accommodating. Great place to take a family!

Dough ball for kids

Dined in here yesterday and had a good experience! Seated right away, friendly service and good portion sizes. The atmosphere was fun and the restaurant was pretty fully which is always a good sign. They gave our kids little balls of dough to play with at the table which helped a lot!

A pleasant Italian chain serving massive portions that would appease families and larger parties. However, instead of my intended quick lunch, I spent twice as long as I hope despite being seated at the front. My group was seated immediately and our orders were quickly taken. Highly recommend ordering something to share as my pasta dish could have easily fed me for three meals. Our drinks and dessert came out quickly but the entrees took 40 minutes to arrive. =ORDERED= *Lemonade: on the syrupy sweet side but the glass was massive. I would stick to a classic beverage next time. *Aunt Margherita Pizza: strangely tasted like soap. The tomatoes weren't cooked through and were still firm. I liked the generous amount of basil but it couldn't save the bland sauce and crust. *Ragin Cajun Chicken Pasta: huge portion for the price. This dish could be easily split between 3 people. The chicken was plentiful and tender. The pico de gallo felt a bit strange atop hot mushrooms and peppers and I would have preferred the dish without it. The pasta was soft and the sauce was savory and not overly spicy. *Pizza Cookie: better than BJ's Pizookie. The 1/2 pound cookie was gooey, warm and chocolatey. The vanilla ice cream wasn't special but I loved the ratio of scoops to cookie. Although I was recommended the pizza, I enjoyed the pasta and dessert more. The prices were great for the portions and the quality was sufficient. The overall experience would be better if I didn't have to wait so long so don't come starving. Come for the pizza but actually stay for the cookie.

Bollo pasta w/marinara sauce

I came across a list that had the best small chain restaurants in each state. For Arizona, it was Oregano's. After looking them up online, I thought the closest one to our hotel would be the one in Tempe. Turns out I was wrong. While we were in town, my husband discovered that there was one in Mesa and very near our hotel. How convenient! We came here for an early dinner along with our son-in-law and three grandsons. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated. The host stand is unique---it's an old console radio like what was common in the 30s. I took a photo of it but, unfortunately, it didn't come out. The vibe is one of the Rat Pack era with background music featuring singers such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The decor was made to feel as if it was set in the 40s and 50s. Our server came along shortly after we were seated to take our drink orders. We got soft drinks except for my husband who got a beer. We started off with a shareable appetizer and chose "Italian fried zucchini" which consists of "These skinny zucchinis are lightly battered and fried to a golden perfection. Served with a side of ranch for your dipping pleasure." We were pleasantly surprised with this side. The zucchini was fried to "golden perfection" and the batter adhered nicely to the zucchini. Many times this dish in other places, ends up with zucchini that slides right out of the batter while taking a bite...but not here! Three of us ordered the "bollo pasta" which is spaghetti in a bowl. I got mine with marinara sauce. My husband got his with meat sauce, while one of our grandsons got his with two meatballs. This dish is "all you can eat" but we were all full after one serving. It comes with a piece of garlic bread. The only thing my husband and I wished was different---the sauce was thick and chunky, which we didn't mind but there wasn't enough of it in our bowls. The garlic bread is quite tasty---generously buttered with distinct garlic flavor. One of our grandsons got the "zany ziti" which consists of: "Penne pasta, meat sauce and four Italian cheeses. Topped with Wisconsin cheese, baked to perfection and sprinkled with oregano". He really enjoyed it and none of it was wasted. Another grandson got the "big meatball sub" which consists of: "Three homemade meatballs nestled in an Italian roll, topped with marinara and provolone, then baked" He got Italian fried potatoes as a side. He, too, enjoyed his dish. Our son-in-law got "Italian flag lasagna" which consists of: "Pasta stuffed with our meat sauce, spinach, Italian cheeses and topped with marinara, then baked to perfection". For a starter, he also got a Caesar salad. It was a lot of food and he ended up taking some home with him but he had no regrets ordering it. Oregano's has something for everybody---main courses, pasta dishes, sandwiches, salads and pizzas. Also, there is a kid's menu. We certainly would consider a return visit during a future visit to AZ!

Woke up late. Tummy's growling. Pizza and cheesecake on my mind. Oregano's is just a few minutes from my place. It was a perfect place for an Italian brunch. I ordered a pizza and a salad. The pizza was flavorful with a perfectly crispy crust and topped with mushroom slices. The Julius Caesar salad was fresh, with shaved and shredded Parmesan combined with their special dressing and homemade croutons. The lemonade was refreshing and complemented the meal wonderfully. Of course, I had to try their famous Grandma G's classic cheesecake. It was a huge slice of creamy, old-fashioned cheesecake, perfectly dusted with real graham cracker crumbles. The portion was enormous, and every bite was a delightful treat. I greatly commend Oregano's for their generous portions, which really makes this place a fantastic spot to satisfy your cravings. They also offer gluten free in their menu. The traditional family feel of the restaurant's ambiance creates nostalgia, plus their effort to decorate their restroom with vinyl records and 50's music. I was glad I got seated before the waiting line grew long. I look forward to dine here again and try their other pizza flavors and savory pasta.

This Oreganos location has been o long time favorite of ours!! The food is Always Fabulous and the service is fast and friendly, and the "Old Fashioned" ambiance is enjoyable. We especially like Chris in the bar area. He's not only a Great server, but bar tender as well! My all time FAVORITE entree is Lady is a Scampi! Delicious and plenty to take home for later! We take our visiting friends and family here, and highly recommend dining at this location

The portions are gigantic and the restaurant had a 30 minute wait. I sat at the bar top-- which served the full menu. I decided on the breaded toasted ravioli-- it was okay. I wanted the Grandma G's Classic Cheesecake. It was also huge. I ate half of my cheesecake and will have the rest with coffee at breakfast

I'm not from AZ so I didn't know this place existed! My friends took me to this restaurant at this location and OH MY GOODNESS did I fall in love with both the ambiance and food! The aesthetic is so unique and different from anything I've ever seen. The food and drinks were also extremely delicious. I'd most definitely return to Oreganos in general, but this location with even more reason. We ordered a few items and when the waiter brought them out he asked if we wanted more cheese on top. Two of us instantly said yes, forgetting our third friend isn't a cheese lover. We remembered within a few seconds and apologized to her. A few minutes later, our waiter came out with an extra order of pasta and gave it to her so she could eat some without cheese! He was so extremely kind for doing this for her.

How do I check in?

Go to the host station and let them know you signed up on what ever platform. They will check you in.

Do I have to reserve ahead of time to have dinner due to COVID?

We did not need a reservation when we went, but we did go for lunch. Very Good Dining experience!!

I have a lemon sensitivity which includes the preservative citric acid. Is the pizza sauce made in house from scratch?

Have you ever stalked a food truck like it was your ex on Instagram, hoping and praying they would…read morefinally settle down and open a permanent location? And then imagine finding out that said location is INSIDE an incredible brewery. Baby... when I tell you I almost ascended. Hello? Excuse me? Did the pizza and beer gods personally hear my dramatic little prayers? Did they not only bless us with this heavenly combo, but ALSO decide to rotate different pizza specials every single week just to keep me emotionally unstable? Because THEY. DID. I genuinely cannot stop talking about this place. At this point my friends are one more pizza rant away from blocking my number, but I refuse to apologize. Every single time I go, I convince myself this is my favorite pizza... and then next week they drop another masterpiece and suddenly I'm questioning everything I thought I knew about myself. What makes this place so ridiculously good is that they are fearless. They're out here using sauces as bases that other pizza places would clutch their pearls over. Ingredients that sound chaotic on paper somehow turn into the most beautiful, life-altering bite you've ever had. It's giving culinary drag performance. Bold. Unexpected. A little dramatic. Perfect execution. And the brewery vibe? Elite. The energy is fun, relaxed, a little loud in the best way, and honestly the perfect setting to destroy an entire pizza while pretending you'll "just have one slice." Lies. All lies. The beer pairings somehow make every flavor pop even more, which feels scientifically unfair. Also can we normalize restaurants understanding that pizza should be FUN? Because this place gets it. They're creative without being pretentious, experimental without losing quality, and somehow every pie still feels comforting and familiar while also making you gasp like you just heard fresh gossip. At this point I don't even ask what the special is anymore. I just trust them blindly like a toxic relationship, except this one actually delivers happiness. 10/10. Life-changing. Emotionally supportive pizza.

If you're in downtown Mesa and you're looking to grab a bite to eat and maybe have a drink or two,…read moreyou should consider swinging by Goat and Ram This spot has all the small batch brewery vibes, but is also a very popular pizza parlor. Located on the main drag of downtown Mesa you can eat inside or on the patio. There aren't servers, instead, you order at the front desk. The menu has a variety of options, mostly pizza (both classics and signature pies). There is also a bar area where you can grab a pint or two of local brews The interior was electric with people enjoying pizza, locations, watching the Olympics, and just unwinding for the day. We ordered a salad and a couple of pizzas. The salad came out first, and the pizzas weren't far behind Being a self-proclaimed pizza snob, the pizza was fine. It wasn't overly flavorful, and it didn't blow me away, but it also didn't disappoint. The salad was LOADED with toppings, and I was somewhat impressed there. Unfortunately, polling the group, the beer was slightly lackluster. But again, this spot is a fun vibe and is great if you want to hang out for a bit and enjoy a brewery/pizza parlor type atmosphere Some tips: When you're done with your drinks and meal consider walking down the Main Street and stopping by one of their many bars, museums, and other eateries There isn't a lot of parking off the main drag, but we were fortunate enough to find parking on a few different occasions Cheers!

We arrived at the host stand a few minutes before our reservation, but were told that there were no indoor tables available. If we wanted to be seated immediately, we'd have to accept an outdoor table, even though we had a reservation for indoor seating. We opted to wait because the weather was chilly by Arizona standards, and we were still recovering from the race. A couple of minutes later, another hostess approached us and asked whether we had reservations and were waiting. When we confirmed, she immediately left to find us a table, and we were seated very shortly afterwards. I thought very little of this until the owner came to our table and apologized for the issue. He was kind and sincere in his regret for the situation and was excited to tell us about the staff and the food. We were wildly appreciative of this attention to detail and service! We shared the potato croquettes, and they were everything I was hoping they'd be and more. (Light lore: I chose Pizzicata because I saw a picture of these croquettes on their online menu.) For dinner, my husband had the Travolta pizza, and I had the gnocchi gorgonzola. We both did that thing where we sat back in our chairs, breathed deeply, and declared, "oh dang, that's goooood." We were both so happy with our choices - I can't speak to the pizza, but that was some of the best gnocchi I've ever had. Pillowy soft in this perfectly nutty, cheesy, creamy sauce. *chef's kiss* For dessert, we shared the tiramisu, which was perfect in every way. If we weren't already walking funny because of the race, we'd have still waddled out of Pizzicata from happy fullness. The service, the food, the vibe - we're here for it and we'll be back the next time we're in Mesa.

During that time, several staff members including what seemed to be a manager, were loudly yelling back and forth across the restaurant about staffing and schedules. With no music or TV volume, it was impossible not to hear, and it felt very unprofessional. Meanwhile, our water glasses sat empty. I had to ask three separate times for refills, and the third time I actually had to get up and find our server at the bar, where she was sitting, still discussing the schedule. When the pizza finally arrived, it was delicious. But basic things like Parmesan and pepper weren't offered. I had to flag someone down to ask. And even though we'd just received our food, the lights on the patio were turned off while we were eating, and we were brought a box very quickly, which felt like a not-so-subtle hint to leave. Overall, the food was good, but the customer service and atmosphere really took away from what should have been a nice birthday dinner for my daughter. Very disappointing experience.

The day we had gone in, they had a few sandwich and pasta options available to choose from. My husband got the spicy Italian sausage ziti pasta dish and I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sandwich came out first; I really liked the marinara sauce on it. It was a bit difficult to eat but exactly what I was expecting and wanting. The pasta took some time to come out, but that was fine. The sauce was like a pesto vodka sauce, very rich & filling, and also tasty. We were both only able to eat half of each dish since they were both large dishes. I believe they only serve pasta dishes on certain days, so if they have them on the menu, definitely consider ordering one of those. They seem to have sandwiches everyday. It's a pretty small place with a few tables & some bar type seating. It gets pretty busy around lunch time, so plan accordingly. We'll be back again to try other items!

We tried the eggplant and chicken Parmesan because it sounded interesting and unlike offerings at other Italian restaurants. It was unique and fun to try, but I don't think I would get it again. It was quite heavy on the breading and there was a generous portion of cheese and sauce. We asked if we could substitute a salad in place of the spaghetti that it came with and our server did indicate they offer garlic sautéed spinach or broccoli so we selected the broccoli. She did not inform us that it came at an extra charge, though we would have still been happy to pay it, it's just nice to be informed ahead of time of any additional cost. I definitely recommend the cannolis as the filling was thick and creamy and not overly sweet and the entire shell was dipped in chocolate!
