    Them saying if I pay $148 today it would be cleared

    I was told I was going to pay $148 to clear two months of unpaid dues (I had the money in my account, they had screwed up on which account it was to be applied to because I had an old account they still had open for some reason) when I paid they charged me $188 and didn't apply the credit. Then the chats started disappearing on my end (I already had a screenshot from earlier of them saying I was to pay $148)

    My call to optimum today that took almost 36 minutes to cancel service for the third time.

    Do not, I repeat, do not use Optimum as your internet provider. That is unless you want to be held hostage as a customer. I am currently on the phone with them for the third time over a span of several months trying to cancel. My current phone call is 26 minutes and counting. You will be put on hold minimum of 3 times and told to call multiple different phone numbers. I canceled for the second time on Wednesday. I dropped off my equipment today. Lady there said it was still active and was NOT in fact disconnected. Even though the man I spoke with on Wednesday went through all the hoops and "canceled" everything. She gave me a "more direct line" to call (again) and cancel. The number is 888-778-8072 #1. Once I got through after waiting the lady began trying to ask me the same questions to change my mind about disconnecting. I explained I have already disconnected and was told it wasn't. That I have bundled with my cell phone carrier and do not need two internet providers. I've been put on hold twice after that. These people are incredibly ridiculous. I have done everything required of me to disconnect my service and they are purposely acting in a difficult manner to avoid canceling. Horrible company. If they were the only option on the planet for internet service I still wouldn't use them as a provider. Linette just let me know that I will receive a confirmation email stating my service has been disconnected in 24-48 hours. As previously stated- do not give them your money. They're impossible and I have zero confidence that it's actually disconnected.

    Optimum price gouged me for the longest time. $130 a month! Their Customer Service wasn't good either.

Please note that I live in a 1100 sq foot house so signal strength is not a concern. So here is why this review. Over the weekend, the mini TiVO stopped working and I got a "blue" screen that said there was no software. Ok, read online that this particular model has a "chip" issue. Not a big deal pick a new one up on Saturday. First frustration: Suddenlink only has 1 office and they are not open on the weekend at all. Ok fine I will go on Monday: Second frustration: Monday at store (nice but useless rep) says that "we do not have any equipment at this store so a tech has to come to your house" and "if it is anything but the TiVO we charge $60 bucks". So first, I did not need a tech, I needed a new box!!! Ask if they could mail a box to me? Nope a tech is the only option!! 3rd frustration: I decided that I wanted a second TiVO box when the tech comes, get told "nope that is a separate appointment". Really!!!! So at the point, I ask about buying my own TiVo and got told that was fine but I had to pay a $250 nonrefundable price for the Suddenlink "chip". So I said, cancel the extra TiVo and have the tech come out and give me a new box. So my frustration and question is: Why do you even have an office in Georgetown? It seems all they are allowed to do by cooperate is to take money and schedule the tech. Well guess what, there is an app! for that.

I would happily give a four star rating...until today. Spectrum gets two stars because of the reliable service and Tamiqua, the rep that was helping me cancel my account. It was clear she was following a script, asking me all sort of demographic information that was not necessary for canceling an account. I eventually asked her to skip the script which she did. She informed me that I would have to pay for the entire billing cycle, which was three additional weeks. I asked her to cancel today and prorate the bill. She said she could not. Tamiqua was wonderful and I give her full credit however Spectrum continues to be a greedy corporation, not really interested in positive client relations.

I have had spectrum service for nearly a year and I have not been without Internet or phone. If you are in the round rock area and you are obtaining spectrum service, I highly suggest you only work online and have your equipment delivered, because visiting this branch is frustrating and literally a waste of time. I've visited this branch probably a half a dozen times and I have never had good service.

My video-gamer sons love being able to play games with Gigabit speeds! We have received excellent education and support along the way. They made it so that all lights, ceiling fans, and thermostats in our home could be run through Alexa, an app, or on preset schedules. This has made my life as a mom so much easier. On school days, I have our whole house scheduled to "wake-up" at a certain time so that I don't have to go to each of my four kids' rooms to wake them. "Wake-up" turns lights on, ceiling fans off, and the thermostat up a little. And a simple "Hey Alexa, turn on bedtime" turns off all lights and turns on all ceiling fans throughout the house. And when I leave my 2 story home each morning, I do not go room to room turning off the lights behind my kids. I say "Hey Alexa, turn everything off!", and she does! ACA Electronics has been great over the past few years to offer continued support, and they do a really good job of explaining things in a way that I can understand. They also wall-mounted all of our TVs. In our great room they installed a MantleMount above our fireplace. It can be lowered to a comfortable eye-level height when sitting, but raises to above the mantle when not in use. It's really tight on the wall and a very beautiful addition to our home. Throughout the whole process ACA has been great. They gave me an itemized estimate, then gave me options without overselling. During the installation they communicated well and the follow through was excellent. They kept the house clean while they were working and the final clean up was excellent too. I highly recommend using ACA Electronics for all your Internet and audio needs!
