Jarvis came in with a reasonable quote and are local, so I went with them. I paid the deposit on Nov. 13, 2023. There was no walkthrough of our house, which I didn't see as an issue. I assumed they had a handle on things based on the floor plan I sent. From there, I didn't hear anything until I emailed multiple times about scheduling, and we finally landed on Dec. 21. When Dec. 21 came, the two installation techs (who were SO NICE - I want to be upfront about that), were essentially overwhelmed by the layout. They didn't know where to make cuts, hadn't been given any plan of attack before coming out, and had to leave to make some calls for guidance. They came back and told me we'd need to reschedule, asked me if Charles had done a walkthrough, etc. In this conversation, they also mentioned that since they'd have to make so many interior cuts, it was good to reschedule so they could also send someone out to patch the drywall when they were doing the install. Ryan Taylor was then scheduled to come do a walkthrough on Jan. 4, 2024. He showed up on time, checked things out, saw where the networking cables terminated, etc., and seemed to have a good handle on how the install would proceed. From there, we had to schedule ANOTHER installation date (this now being our third one), landing on Jan. 12, 2024. The install techs on Jan. 12 were great. Knowledgeable, kind, and they knew how to get the cables run to the places we wanted. Unfortunately (through no fault of their own), they couldn't finish the project. Two cuts in the drywall were so big that the drywall needed total repair/patching, and Jarvis didn't send out anyone to repair it while the install techs were here. They also told me that Jarvis wasn't going to come out and put wall plates on any of the cables they had terminated. Fortunately, I had plates of my own, but it seemed strange to me that the company wasn't going to actually cover all the equipment needed to have a tidy install. I reached out to Ryan about this after they left. He apologized but told me nowhere on our initial quote was drywall repair/patching and suggested we hire it out, then let them know when it was done. I also sent pictures of the myriad holes left in the wall throughout the house. Ryan did refund me some of the deposit I paid to try and make things more right (this was on Feb. 6, 2024). I finally got everything patched up in March and reached out to Ryan. He told me Jarvis was no longer operating as a business but would send two techs out to finish those last two wall plates/cable termination so we could finally close out this project. They came on April 3, 2024. They were also nice and did a great job. However, all of this being said, I can't recommend Jarvis (if they are indeed still operating). Five months for a project, me needing to initiate so many of the planning conversations/scheduling, bad information given (repairs vs. no repairs), not coming to put wall plates on, etc., isn't a good look. On the positive side, I will say all the cables they ran work, and for that, I am grateful.

Additionally, their install team came out and removed my TV from my wall free of charge so that the technician could replace the necessary components. It's more common than not that companies you transact with will do anything to avoid any kind of call back after they've gotten their money, but Monarch Technologies is the exception. It's obvious from the moment you talk to them that they're interested in a long term relationship, not a quick buck. I won't be using anyone else in Austin for my future AV purchase and installations.

I contacted a few places and decided to go with Pro-TechT since they also provide my home security system. I had them come out and look at what I was wanting to do. They made a few suggestions and I decided to move forward with a larger TV and updated sound system with wireless speakers. There was some concern about the wireless speakers due to potential interference, but I have had no issues so far. The TV and speakers were ordered. When they came in, we scheduled an install date. They were in an out within a couple of hours. It all looks great and sounds really nice. Kent was my tech- he was very careful with the installation, programmed my remotes and cleaned up before he left. The install looks very nice in this room. The TV size they suggested as well as the speaker system is really clean, sounds great and looks very nice. I didn't know if that size tv would fit the wall as I went larger than the old one, but it is perfect. The best thing is they worked within the specified budget I had in mind to create exactly what I wanted. I have updated technology, one remote and a fantastic sound. I will definitely use them again for additional home theater, A/V needs and future upgrades.

They sent out a tech to install our new system. The tech was seriously incompetent. He had to come…read moreby 3 times to fix things he did wrong. Now, we're dealing with a charge he added to our account ($99) because he didn't ask us how we wanted our doorbell installed. We're backed against a wall because the security company we are with has us in a three year contract, we have very little wiggle room for negotiating this. This charge was assessed by a contractor from ASI, not affiliated with our security monitoring company. Now, we've had multiple, 5+, conversations with our security monitor company, trying to get this charge corrected. We thought this wouldn't be a problem, but each time we call, the person acts as if they'll help, make a note etc.... But each time we call, we get a new person who we have to re-explain what's happened. All because this contractor from ASI decided coming by to fix his mistakes wasn't good enough, he had to make sure and charge us for his incompetence. If you end up with a contractor from ASI, follow them around, making sure everything they do is correct. If anything is wrong, I highly recommend calling a manager immediately. Otherwise you might end up in our same situation. I wish we had known this. (We had the same company and system at our last house. We had problems with it and had at least 5 home visits by techs to fix it. It finally took the 5th visit to get a guy who was competent. We never got a single charge for a single visit to fix things. )
