We were looking for a replacement for our Sony 43" XBR because it would not connect to hearing aids and buffering issues. Georgetown TV has been our source for technical information and products for years. They have been honest and helpful. They took the time to connect our headphones and hearing aids to their showroom TV's giving us options on various brands. We are limited on the size of the TV because of cabinets where the TV is placed. We decided on a Sony 43" and are pleased with it. Very good experience with this service. There were several speakers which weren't producing sound verified by troubleshooting but couldn't get behind our console to determine if it was a connectivity issue or the speaker was blown. Tech did a quick assessment and made suggestions on improving some wiring and fortunately had parts in his truck. Helpful, polite and resourceful and easy to get an appointment. Not sure about the going rate so can't comment . Used Geek Squad (Best Buy) for a while but they are a hot mess since stores closed and personnel we had dealt with and liked are now gone. read more

After I posted my negative review, Joey called me and set up an appointment at our house. He checked the tv out and tweaked some things. He also thoroughly explained what might have gone wrong on his previous visit. He was adamant that the tv was not the problem. His thought was that it could have been YouTubetv or the Optimum cable service. Although still skeptical i gave him the benefit of the doubt. I felt that Georgetown TV wanted to help us out. Great experience with Georgetown TV & Audio during our recent TV/sound system purchase. They took the time to explain all the video tech options to us, and didn't try to upsell on things we didn't need. In fact they counseled us on options we wouldn't use like gaming features, etc. Installation team was great as well, considerate of our home and furnishings while they installed the equipment. Our home builder sitterle homes had some epic failures and I mean epic for proper location of cables, more so in my case ethernet cables. Many of the rooms if they had ethernet at all had cable port on one side of the room and the ethernet port on the opposite side of the room when they should have been on the same side and sharing the same faceplate. This of course was only correct in the office. Sadly I needed the cable now to all be where they should be and I called Georgetown TV and Audio to come out and install the cat 6 to the patch panel they had in the house. Again sadly due to the high ceilings in a few of my room and or attic access the livingroom and one of the bedrooms couldn't have cables run to them. Yes thank you sitterle homes ( all lower case for the show of lack of respect for the builder ), but they did run and correct the issues for the other rooms and even put a drop in my garage since it has a weak signal so I could setup a mesh network. Georgetown TV has helped us several times in the last 2 years with old equipment, and they were always excellent. When it was time for a new TV / sound bar we talked to Nickole on 2 occasions. She was always super and very patient helping educate us on our choices and leading us to our final decision. She was great! Today Sam and Dave installed our new Samsung TV, Sonos sound bar and Sonos Sub-Woofer. They had to take down an older TV and mount the larger set on a tiled wall which made the install that much trickier. They called to find out if being early was ok, which it was. They were terrific! Perfect install and went the extra mile to help us properly locate the sub as well as make sure our Apple TV remote was programmed perfectly. They cleaned everything up and hauled the old equipment away. This is why I love local small businesses. They handle everything, from sales to install and I KNOW they'll take great care of us afterwards. AND, the price was right where the competition was so the deal was on point. They price-matched the TV, they offered a higher-quality sound bar for the same price, and offered an installation date which was four days earlier than the "Big Blue with a Yellow Price Tag" store. Their installation team was on time, they were knowledgeable, and moved like a well-oiled machine. So it begin with a quick visit to the store front. I was quickly and kindly greeted. She was all ears on what I wanted. I don't know why I took so long to write a review. They came (9/2020 )to install surround sound to my media room, hang 2 Tvs and set up speakers in my gameroom. Their prices were fair. We were quoted good prices on TVs, speakers, subwoofer, sound bar, Sonos systems, however, since we have access to a retailer who sells to military patrons with no tax, we wanted to save money (tax) and buy elsewhere. Installation was professional. Very pleased with their work. I even had an issue with the TV/sound bar (I bought the same model TV as their quote). They recently replaced a button on my 1970's Pioneer receiver, even though (as I understand) they do not do this kind of work anymore. This receiver has been repaired at least twice by them, in addition to repairing and restoring the spec on my Teac Reel To Reel. No one really wants to have to call service people of any kind - electrician, plumber, HVAC guy or tv repairman. I especially don't because I'm terrible at describing the actual problem. My husband is often on the AVS Forum and he read over and over that Georgetown TV & Audio was highly recommended and Sony certified so he called them up when our tv needed the convergence circuits replaced. They told us they'd arrive on Monday between noon and 2. I was immediately impressed with a 2 hour time frame instead of a 6 or 8 hour one. Around 1pm they called and said they'd be there in 20 minutes. 20 minutes later they arrive and begin working on the unit. After replacing the convergence circuits they replaced some fuses and calibrated the set. Because the fuses needed to be replaced the cost was $30 more than the estimate, but the estimate also didn't include tax so it wasn't very far off. We were really pleased with their service and since I hope to never see them again I will highly recommend them for anyone in need of TV repair. read more

I've been a long time customer of Georgetown TV and Audio but now I am even more impressed. The surround sound system that they installed 4 years ago wasn't working, so I gave them a call. The appointment was scheduled quickly and Thomas, their technician, called to see if he could show up early. He quickly determined that a line was disconnected and had everything up and running in no time. He also noticed a couple of other things that were off (settings incorrect on certain speakers and an IR connection was off) and fixed them as well. We bought a 23 YO house that had speakers throughout the house and on the patio, plus ALOT of wires coming out of the wall and wires tangled up in a cabinet.
