***UPDATE : 12-14-2020**** By the grace of God I now have internet. Albert was able to help me sort through a lot of this mess. It was apparent while navigating through their customer service experience that Suddenlink hires a lot of contractors and it's just a crap shot who you're going to get. You get some techs that will flag a job as unserviceable and just move on while some that will actually come and check to see if they can do the installation. Albert was able to help me sort through a lot of this and get me set up but he had to fight through a sea of incompetent people to actually do it. ----------------------------- This is probably the worst Internet Service Provider I've ever worked with across multiple states and cities. I'm currently in Santa Rita Ranch in a new build. I've called in 1 month ahead of time and spoke with Albert Chilot and was ensured that we'd be good to go for my move in on December 7th. On move in day, the contractors told me that they would be unable to set up internet for inside my house until the fiber is set up outside. I contacted Albert and asked him to help me resolve the issue. He told me he'll have someone set up fiber outside on Wednesday December 9 and that I'll have an appointment from 8am-11am on December 10 to set up my internet inside the house. On Thursday December 10th, I called into the customer service line to electronically confirm that I had an 8am - 11am appointment window to set up my internet. The machine was able to confirm for me I indeed had a window at that time. At 11:45am I called customer support because nobody has showed up. They told me my appointment today was to set up fiber outside the house and the window was from 10am-8pm (wtf???). I told them I called into the customer service line and the machine even confirmed my 8am appointment and she basically gave me a shrug over the phone. I hung up and called Albert after, - no pick up. I texted him, no response. I called back to talk to a customer service rep and explained the situation and he put me on hold multiple times saying he's talking to dispatch to get it taken care of. On the final time he got back to me he said he needs 30 minutes to contact the dispatch people and he'll call me back. 2 hours later : no response. I called Albert multiple times until I finally got a response and he said he'll look into it. Got it 1 hour later and he said that he doesn't know what happened but they cancelled my internet set up today because fiber wasn't set up outside. I asked him why and he has no clue. I asked him what he intends on doing about the fact that I lost our on one weeks pay because I haven't been able to work and have not gotten a response. It's now 6:40pm on December 10th and here we are, still no internet and still no finish line in sight. To sum it all up: -All customer service representatives do their best to just get you off the phone and that's it. Don't ever expect a call back from them. Ever. -If you have a service date for internet installation don't expect to actually get it set up for about 2 weeks. -nobody has any idea wtf is going on. read more

Not even an hour after canceling, I started to conveniently have the slowest internet I've ever experienced. I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first and called them. I explained the situation including the suspicious timing of my issue and emphasized that I was NOT looking to renew my service. After I said this, customer service couldn't have cared less about my issue and would not stop trying to sell me on a new plan after I REPEATEDLY TOLD THEM NOT TO. *****He then proceeded to explicitly tell me that they would only help me fix my internet problem if I renewed my service with him*****. Nobody seems be able to help get this fixed. Due to a lack of options where I live, I'm stuck trying to get this resolved with a company full of complete idiots. Awful Internet service provider. Technicians replaced everything inside and out, and we still have lousy service, several times a day. At times it's totally unusable. Their tech support is not helpful...at all. Tethering with iPhone is better and more reliable than their "service". I would recommend 5G or Star-link if you live in Georgetown, Texas. read more

After 5 months of our residential wifi operating at 50% capacity, 15 or more calls to Customer Service, countless reboots, 2 Optimum service calls, two modems, and multiple unfulfilled promises from our Account Manager to engage management, we filed a complaint with the FCC. Finally spurred to action by the FCC, we received a call from an Optimum resolution "specialist" that evening. They, Optimum, then dispatched their a troubleshooter/engineer, who diagnosed the problem as faulty feeder cable under the street. It was replaced that day and we've had uninterrupted service in the past 60 days. Bottom line, IMO: Optimum is a poorly performance company on the customer front. Fortunately for us, Optimum is required by the FCC to address or resolve reported complaints within 30 days. Optimum clearly doesn't like FCC complaints. If you have a reasonable complaint and are getting nowhere with Optimum, go to FCC. gov and file your complaint. read more

This company is a 0. I was forced to use their Internet service due to the fact it was a monopoly in the City of Leander-not many options. Awful SLOW speeds. For over a year I contacted customer service who offered no solution. They told me my equipment was working fine and all they did was send a signal to my modem. My monthly charge was 110.00. I finally switched to AT&T and wow-amazing speeds at 55.00 a month. I cancelled Suddenlink service on today's date(1/28/2021). Customer service tried to convince me to stay. She stated, "I see the problem, you're on a 200 when you should be on a 400 unlimited." She stated she could switch me over and it would solve the problem. For over a year Tech Support couldn't figure this out. I Next she told me I would be billed for February due to the fact that my bill cycle starts on the 25th. She sent me to an alleged Customer Service Manager-Christopher #UGL. We went in circles and he continued to tell me I was responsible for February even though I was cancelling on January 28th. For over a year I didn't receive credits for the days my wifi would not work. Apparently I was paying for a top speed plan and only receiving slow speeds, Christopher could not give me an explanation . Christopher refused to credit my account. I will be filing a complaint with the FCC. Note-Christopher's phone connection was awful. I could barely understand him. So now I go to the Georgetown business location to return the out dated modem. There's a sign on the door stating the business is closed from 1-2pm for lunch. Haahhhaah a one employee operation, I drove 45 minutes and now have to wait 1hr. PLEASE do yourself a favor. AT&T is much faster and affordable. I'd go as far as saying-AOL offered a better service. Suddenlink will be out of business soon. Their customer service is run by a bunch of Neanderthals. read more

As he was here he took notice of our PS5 so he took the liberty of hooking up to the LAN so we get faster connection for gaming. At the end of the visit he informed us if we needed anything at all to reach back out and he would be more than happy to assist. The service is horrible, and the customer service is even worse. I'm hoping the Verizon and T-Mobile 5G options provide a better service. The internet constantly drops and the speeds aren't even close to what they have advertised. Finally rid of Optimum and could not be happier. Started with cable and internet but price kept rising so cancelled cable and price for internet alone (which was not great at the time) was going to be around $100 per month. Rep said I had to do a bundle to get good pricing so had to get phone service I didn't need to make the internet somewhat affordable. Kept that going until service started lagging and then had 12 hour outages for 2 Saturdays in a row with zero explanation from Optimum as to why. Even had to jump through hoops just to get Optimum to understand outage was not just out home but seemed wide spread in our area. When I called to cancel I was sent in a loop of representatives that tried harder to sell me more services than to process my cancellation request even after I told them I had already purchased services from a new provider. Reps said they could only process my cancellation at end of billing cycle and could not do same day I requested. Could not send me anything in writing to confirm my cancellation along with expected refund amount and was told no one in the company could give me that information because it was all automated. Overall mediocre service, subpar customer service, and high prices. Avoid at all cost. read more

Customer Service is the worst, I called for an extension on my service and the response was, "you are not eligible for an extension" When, I asked if there was anything else I could do, response from customer service is, "the computer decides" and "it isn't anything personal". Customer service says, I know times are tough, when I explained why I needed an extension, "do you have any other questions or concerns"? Yes, I need an extension to pay my bill ‍No working with the customer and how we could resolve the issue. I would rate them a "1" as a company and customer service. I cancelled my service with them. I typically am against bashing on social media. However, Me and numerous residents in Georgetown have had enough of Suddenlink, here is a brief recent experience...although there have been many more memorable moments: Day 1- The Internet was super slow.  Was told it most likely was my modem.  I went out right away and bought a new one.  I was on the phone for hours, literally noon to 4pm trying to have Suddenlink get my new router working.  To no avail it wasn't fixed.  However I was assured I had a technician appointment coming the next day. Day 2-  No tech showed up.  The appointment had been cancelled.  After hours of troubleshooting with Suddenlink again, I had to make another tech appointment.  I was told the tech's are a third party and that they can only see their available appointments.  So they could not have them come out sooner. Day 3- I checked all my equipment and contacted the company of my new Modem.  Just in case it was something on my end.  The Modem manufacturer confirmed quickly that it was " A DNS issue."  So I called once again to see the appointment status and to inform Suddenlink it was their DNS Issue.  Another round of Suddenlink troubleshooting once again to no avail.  I asked to speak to a manager but they said none was there.  They said they will escalate my internet issue to a higher tech team and somehow they made an appointment for someone to come out to the house the same day between 3-8pm.  No tech showed! Day 4- Called up Suddenlink.  No notes were made after my lengthy call from the other day!  No appointment booked either!  So once again I had to go through Suddenlink troubleshooting.  After telling them the possible issue etc...to catch them up on my story.  Suddenlink made an appointment for the next day. Day 5- Yeay Suddenlink's contracted tech came to diagnose the problem.  He was going to leave without fixing anything and that he would get a hold of his supervisor.  Amazingly after me being frustrated he has his Supervisor show up.  Supervisor now said I needed new fiber to be run to the house.  He said they will put a ticket in and get someone out in less than 24hrs. Day 6- I see no appointment was scheduled...So called up Suddenlink again.  This time the employee seemed to be an auto pilot reading a script and couldn't think on his own to answer my questions.  After an extremely painful conversation he booked a tech appointment for 3 days later.  Since they could see a ticket was put in but had no exact time. He put in a note to the next higher up tech team, which amazingly are also the supervisors and managers!  So I get a 2 in one this time and that it could be up to 24 hrs. for them to contact me back.  Wow...to be continued... So unfortunately this is the ONLY provider where I am located. Fingers crossed we get another one soon! I was going to cancel and see what they could do about my bill and they offered me $40 a month for 2 years, which for their crappy service isn't too bad. Hasn't even been a year and all of a sudden the deal ends and my bill goes up by $20. I get on the chat to find out why and they say that a credit to my bill has expired so that's why it went up. So I ask why because this was not I was told AT ALL and all they can say is that the credit expired. I am now upset that I have been lied to and express that and literally the only "bad" word I used (at least in the chat) was sucks and they told me that I was being uncooperative and using bad language. Let me be clear - Suddenlink is a zero and it if had any competition would be clearly out of business. But, I am writing to discuss a magical experience I recently had with an employee there, named Briana. I arrived frustrated that my bill for internet had ballooned to over 140, and despite my 8 (no kidding) calls to the customer service /retention line the best they could do was to get it down to 119. Briana helped me and patiently backed me up on the phone (us together calling Suddenlink's army of incompetent idiots). Three calls later, Briana and I were finally able to get the internet price down to a reasonable amount. At least for the next 12 months. To Suddenlink - Why did it take 11 calls for me to get satisfaction? And why couldn't this local store take care of its people? Why did we need to call India, Mexico, and who knows where else? You need to give the local reps the juice to take care of customers, and stop the ridiculous price gouging and saving the good prices for "new customers only". Even the cell phone providers have figured that out at this point. You'll be out of business any day now. To Briana's boss - she is amazing, please do what you can for her, whatever bonus or raise or promotion you can do to keep her as long as you can. She's worth it. To Briana - you are better than this, why don't you take your talent somewhere where they actually embed customer service in their business model and empower you to help? You'll be better off since the business will align with your skillset, and happy customers will be the norm instead of the rare exception. You belong at Disney, or somewhere special. Fantastic job today young lady, bright things in your future! To everyone else - if you are with Suddenlink, keep looking for alternatives. They will keep doing this as long as you let them. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with them. Their basically an ex that won't leave you alone and is constantly trying to steal your money. I canceled them two months ago before I moved but they continue to remove money from my account every month and then tried to charge me an equipment fee for the equipment that I already turned back into them. They didn't want to refund the money to me ether so I let by bank know that it was a fraudulent charge both times. I have now talked to them four different times to cancel the account and to stop charging me but I doubt it will work and I'm sure I'll have to make another angry phone call to them. read more
