So it's been since July 11th and my internet problems are still not solved. I've contacted the BBB, the Attorney General, the FCC. They don't care and you can't make them care. I've had four technicians, four modems, 14 technical calls and two in office visits. Nothing. Nothing, Nothing. And my last service call they cancelled because why? I don't know. And I've talked to corporate, they consider it just fine because maybe they have credited my account for a few days of no internet. I HATE Suddenlink. The people have ZERO idea of what they are doing, the equipment doesn't work, and no one cares. read more

No competition interested in setting up the infrastructure to service this area and Suddenlink KNOWS THIS. They have little incentive to provide decent prices, decent service, or even a decent product. Just recently exceeded our data cap (whole separate soap box) while we were out of the country for three week. To their credit, they eventually refunded us the overage, but after several phone calls and lots of hoops to jump through. They came out a few months ago and replaced our modem, and the tech used the wrong power cord causing the internet to crash every few mins. This went on for several days because we didn't want to call them out to have the tech determine it was something on our end, not fix anything and charge us a service fee. This latest incident (and the final straw before writing this monstrosity) we again somehow exceeded our data cap, and finally broke down and upped our service to their top package to avoid a data cap. They had to come out and instal a new modem, and since yesterday has been crashing every 20 minutes or so. I don't know if it's another power cord issue, or what, but I honestly don't even care. It's ALWAYS something with this company. If McDonald's offered neighborhood internet on par with the quality of their burgers I'd sign up in an instant. Suddenlink is a terrible provider of customer service. I have been without service for 2 weeks and no end in sight. I had to schedule an appointment to fix the problem, the were to be here between 8:00 am and 11:00 am today it is now 2:00 pm and I'm still waiting. I even called and after an hour was told to hold a moment, well I was on hold for another 45 minutes or so and was told I was on the schedule. My request to have a supervisor contact me ( second time) and an hour has passed and still no call. Suddenlink should change their name to Suckenlink! read more

Ever since Altice bought out Suddenstink the service and quality have steadily declined. I now can only watch about 65% of the shows I normally watch and the internet goes down multiple times per day. It's no use trying to call them because you will be in the phone over 2 hours and still not talk to them. I've tried 3 times and after 2 hours each time I had to quit. I have more important things to take care of other than being tied up on hold. Going to have to look at alternatives I guess. I hate satellite but they at least stay on more than Suddenlink. This business has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The staff is extremely rude and unhelpful. They are unconcerned with their customers' issues regarding their services, more specifically an employee named Nicholas. Being in the service industry, I typically refrain from using yelp, however the unprofessionalism is appalling. The first problem is the automated system is undeveloped and poorly managed. When displaying options for an issue one is calling about there is no option to speak to a representative. I might as well be on the DIY channel. Secondly, when an individual upgrades to a faster internet speed (which has an additional cost), they should not be experiencing slower speeds than before hand. The customer is paying y'all a monthly fee to provide this service and y'all fail miserably. People are less reluctant spend more if the service provide is exquisite. Needless to say, I do not recommend using Suddenlink as your internet provider. Having been a customer for an extended period of time, I am disappointed with the overall quality from in-house employees to the technical aspects. For these reasons, I will be disconnecting my services and giving my money to another internet provider who holds themselves to a higher standard. read more

If you have any other options for cable service take them. I've had cable service in a number of other states over the past 30 years. This is without a doubt the worst. You can go for days without service and never get promised refunds. And when you finally cancel they keep sending you bills. And because they have your phone number they will only route you into a bot net with no options to talk to a human to resolve the charges. read more

So make sure you have plenty of time to wait. They said they were going to upgrade us to over 200 mbps and every time I check the download speed it can't even get over 50. I wish I didn't have to give a star at all. This is by far the worst Internet provider service ever. The Internet loses service on an average of 3 times a month for 2-16 hours. Of course u can call but there are no humans to answer questions. You will be told by auto voice that there is a service interruption in your area and most interruptions are resolved within 2 hours. NEVER TRUE. Plus, they do not give any credit for the time the Internet is out. They just continue to charge. Weekends and weekdays the services goes out without any bad weather or reason. I am anxiously awaiting a new provider to come along in my area. For now I am stuck with Suddenlink which is a company that does not care about their customers. my suddenlink bill was 217$ for internet and cable- I'm a chemistry graduate student at a&m and that bill is literally 10% of my paycheck- so yeah I was pissed. The only way I could ever get ahold of an actual person was if I lied and told the prompts was I thinking about buying something from them- I had to do this every time I needed to call suddenlink. They have a monopoly in college station, they offer 400Mbps now but you wouldn't know it other than your bill. I dropped them, got a different internet provider an sling and my bill now is 60$ a month. I use the internet all the time, I stream on 3 TVs and it never buffers, I have nest, ring, alexa, google home, and all smart lights- I use frontier for internet and while they can't offer 400mbps, I never have any issues, nothing buffers or freezes. ((No one needs 400mbps)) but suddenlink will be happy to charge you for it If you're new in town or you're frustrated with suddenlink (which ALL of my neighbors are, yours probably are too if you're on the Nextdoor app) drop them, quickly, because they'll raise your bill next month. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. They can't fix anything the first time. I've been in to their store 4 times this week and on the phone with tech support for over 2 hours and still no service. When a tech did come to my house things worked for 1 hr and then quit. When you call in, they constantly transfer you from one department to another. Half the people you can't understand. Don't know where they outsourced their tech support to but they suck. Now I can't get my internet fixed for over a week. I hate this company and would never recommend them to anyone. Go with ATT and Direct TV if you live in Bryan/College Station. Save yourself, DON'T USE THEIR SERVICES!!! THEY ARE LUCKY I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO SUE THEM YET!!! I signed up with them a month ago, paid for the technician and first month bill on the spot. This month I received about 10 voice message (couldn't pick up cause I'm schooling all day) told me need to pay for the bill again. Each of those time when I call back to customer service (had to go through long and hectic process every time), they just told me don't worry, they'll update my payment detail eventually, it would take sometime, but everything is fine, they'll take care of it. So you can imagine my surprise when MY SERVICE WAS CUT OFF ALL OF SUDDEN, ESPECIALLY WHEN I DON'T OWN THEM ANYTHING!!!!! Yes that's right, they cut of my service while promising me they won't (as they shouldn't). And the worse part is, there was no warning. I was completing a long form online when it just went to their payment page. EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN WORKING ON IS GONE THANKS TO THEM!!! What's even worse than this is, when I try to call the company and solve the problem, the voice system told me I WON'T BE ABLE TO TALK TO ANY ANGENT UNLESS I PAY THEM AGAIN?! PURE BLACKMAILING!!! And since I'm at school all day on weekdays and the office don't open on weekends, I can't even physically go to their office and talk to them about it. Frequent billing errors, that when on EZ Pay (autopay) should NEVER happen. Had to dispute charges with my bamk after Suddenlink charged me twice for one month, after they'd charged me regularly for the month prior but sent me notices that there was an error in the payment and that my payment was late. Tried numerous times to rectify and was repeatedly told they were aware of the error in their system, yet they still charged me double the following month. Suddenlink is a nightmare. I have spent 5 plus hours trying to get my email transferred to my new husband's account. The end result is that he and I were added to my ex- husband's account. My ex- husband had to remove us and set up a new password. My husband and I now have NO access to our emails and are waiting on a call which could take up to 48 hrs. I was in the Suddenlink office last week in Bryan and was told they couldn't do anything technical. There is hope for this company. I have NEVER heard a positive review. read more

My roommate has an account with Suddenlink that we split. I pay for half the bill each month. Around the end of April 2020 and the Beginning of May 2020 I called in to troubleshoot an intermittent issue with connection to the internet. Instead of troubleshooting the issue they decided to send a tech. This wasn't resolved for at least 2 months with techs being sent by Suddenlink (that we never requested) every 2-3 weeks when we called to tell them that the service was still having the intermittent issue. Each time the tech replaced a cable or a splitter on the outside of our house and incorrectly signed their own paperwork that we approved of their charges. This did not resolve the issue ever. Finally, we were sent a tech supervisor and he accused us of having faulty wiring in our walls. We advised him of the issue and he stated he would check their "node." Did nothing to the house, signed his own paperwork, and we were charged another $60. Luckily, it seems he correctly identified the problem with the "node" and our internet service has since been fixed. Due to some of the errors of their billing and tech support reps you have added a tax for TV service which we have never purchased through Suddenlink. Because multiple techs also signed their own work orders stating that we approved of the charges for the tech visit we were charged and had to make multiple escalations for refunds. Again, we have never approved of the charges. Each month they have refunded one of the charges and there is still one charge that has yet to be refunded. Remember this problem started 4 months ago. Yeah. In addition, as part of another error they changed our service from 400mbps to 200mbps. We were restored to our 400mbps service after several weeks of the incorrect service that we did not approve to be changed. This had the effect of removing discounts that were on our account before the problems started. When my roommate signed up he was promised a "price for life" guarantee for his $400mbps so outside of tax fluctuations (and whatever bull crap fee they want to add) it should have remained $46.44 each month. We were promised an additional $10 off each month (for a year) starting with July 2st bill for our inconveniences. This discount was never applied. At this point we have paid each month on time and they have not done anything correct or provided anything they promised us. We have over paid $46.58 based on what they have promised us over the phone. We were told it would be reflected on the next month's bill and instead we have yet another charge for a tech and a confusing total of $63.76 for the month of September. Which still includes TV taxes and the tech fee. Remember problem started in April...yeah. My roommate and I have made complaints to the FCC and the BBB. We want our bill lowered to $36.44 per month as promised and all tech fees removed from the account. We want the taxes to follow only the service (internet) that we pay for. And we want either the $46.58 that we overpaid for the service refunded to us or applied to the September month's bill on the account. That's a total of $110.34 that's $46.58 from last month (August statement) and $63.76 this month (September Statement). And we'd like them to give us a $100 amazon card like they give new customers for the extra inconveniences. This negative review will not be removed. read more

I get a speed of 30-50 when I'm paying for 400. I have reported it several times and they always blame it on my modem. I have upgraded my modem twice and now it supports up to 1GB and I still get the same low speeds. We need another service provider in this area. read more

If I had the option to select zero stars, I would. Suddenlink, their call center and customer service is by far the worst I have ever experienced. To recap, I was moving into a new apartment in July 2021, so I called to set up a "personal" account for internet services. Quite literally, the next day I was informed that my complex has a bulk internet account with Suddenlink and the "personal" account wasn't necessary. So, I cancelled my installation request and asked Suddenlink to cancel this account and refund my initial payment. I was told they would do so. Come to find out months later, now being November 2021 Suddenlink was still charging my card for this account I was told got cancelled and never received service for. So I took my payment method off of that account so I wouldn't be charged going forward. Suddenlink then said my account was delinquent and turned off internet services to not only this account that was supposedly canceled but also the bulk internet account I have through my apartment due to them both being linked to the same address. As of today, I have yet to be refunded for the months I was charged in error and my bulk internet service which is fully paid through my apartment is still turned off. read more

My most recent experience with Suddenlink's customer service actually began months ago, when I contacted them because several channels kept displaying loads of digital artifacts, losing sound, or going out completely. I complained about this for a while, and finally gave up when they refused to fix it, blaming my tivo (even though everyone on my block has the exact same problem). Three weeks ago, I lost all of the local channels completely for over 24 hours. I contacted Suddenlink customer service who said they would "ensure this was fixed as soon as possible" but REFUSED to send somebody out. After another 20 hours or so, the channels came back. A week later, all of the local channels went out again. I contacted Suddenlink customer service, who this time REFUSED to fix the problem without sending somebody out. Since the only time I could miss work was early in the morning, I had to schedule two weeks in advance in order to get an 8-10am appointment. The day before the appointment, I received an annoying email reminder, an annoying text reminder, and an annoying robot phone call reminder about my appointment. Ok I get it. I'll be there. But guess who won't? Of course, the Suddenlink technician never showed up. At 10am I sent them an admittedly harsh email and headed off to work. At 10:20 the technician finally calls me and asks me to go home again. I informed him that I was busy and hung up. He then texted me, asking me to be home on Saturday. No, I can't -- I have to work Saturday because of the appointment which you already missed. Fool me once, shame on you.... This is when the fun really started. I received an email from Suddenlink asking me to fill out a survey about my customer service. I declined. I then received a robot phone call asking me about my customer service. I pushed the button for an unsatisfied rating, and was transferred to an actual human -- let's call her Betty. I explained to Betty that the technician never showed up. She put me on hold, against my wishes, and contacted the technician. When she returned, she said, "the technician said you agreed to meet with him later. Should I note that you are now satisfied?" I told her, "you know I didn't agree to that, right?" She then said, "WELL, SIR, I AM NOT GOING TO ACCUSE YOU OF LYING...." It was at that point when I hung up on Betty. Almost immediately, I received an email from Betty2: "According to your account, it appears that the technician has shown up and your appointment is completed. I'm sorry that he was late. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us either by phone or online chat." Seriously? And, while typing this review, I just received a customer satisfaction survey from "Dave" a "senior VP for operations" at Suddenlink. I hope he enjoyed my survey responses. read more

Wow...I just tried to setup internet service with Suddenlink and received absorbent installation charges for the $47/month service. $40 for installation $50 non-refundable deposit $90 one-time fee $47 for service Why all the charges? $50 non-refundable deposit? Uh hello, thats not a deposit! $90 one time fee for what exactly? This is insane! I would also like to point out that this is there lowest available internet service, advertised for $35. The rental fee for the modem is $12/month for a $60 modem...that is $144/annually! What a ripoff! Run away! This company is ripping customers off. Choose any other provider than Suddenlink. Update: When I tried to cancel the service install they had no record of any order, even after I provided the order confirmation number, my name, and my address. I have dealt with Suddenlink both as an individual and as a company. They are terrible either way. The service is hit or miss. Their data monitoring is constantly down. That doesn't give you any help when you have a data cap. They say the only way to get "accurate" data usage is "through their website", so how am I to make sure I don't go over my limit. They just hint at wait and see, but of course, they don't actually say it. I asked what to do if I get charged through a fault on their part. The answered I got was "That depends on the situation". The situation is, you charged me for something that you shouldn't have. Now, where's my refund? I asked what they would tell a legal official the process was and that, of course, was ignored. Oh, I almost forgot. They are more than willing to take your money by auto draft, mail or phone, but not online. They are an internet company, right? They obviously have the ability since they can auto draft. If you have any questions good luck in getting any answers. If everything goes smoothly, which it doesn't, you'll be fine. read more

They blatantly took advantage of my grandparents. Internet connection and cable issues were an everyday occurrence. Calling to get any kind of service or support yielded lengthy wait times and charges from said service visits. My family's bill LITERALLY TRIPLED which resulted in one final service call during which the contracted (meaning he was not obligated to be loyal to SLink) personnel told my fam to switch and "chase the specials". Reasoning behind his logic, as he explained it was that Suddenlink advertised incredible rates for NEW clients then upped their bill after a period to recoup costs for offering those specials to gain new clients again, so! Loyalty's out the proverbial window. They could care less about their clients once they've signed the dotted line. They exercise poor customer service, a lack of ethics, and overall deplorable business practices all due (in my opinion) to a lack of options in BCS. read more

This has been the worst internet service We have ever experienced.!!! As we are watching local channels ...there are pauses off and on during viewing. We cannot watch a Neflix movie without about 5 interruptions. We have made many call complaints over the years. In the last week, we had two suddenlink representatives ...yes, they came only to ask us to upgrade for the service we have never had in 4 years!!! We have downloaded an app that shows all the internet interruptions. Just grateful for the fact we have offices outside of home to conduct business!
