Otherwise you can just use their AI support that doesn't actually help or work. Let's be clear, Frontier is better than anybody else at delivering Internet in College Station. So two stars instead of one, because I've dealt with The Other Guys. But the Customer "Service" is still awful, and when / if you have a problem, it's still a Kafka-esque battle against the dragon. Here's my story: Internet was skidding in and out. Annoying, but tech is tech, so I just reported the problem and an automated system scheduled a technician to come to my house. The problem, I was told, is that my line-to-router modem was power-cycling. Fair enough; the earliest appointment was two days away, but fair's fair, so I confirmed the appointment for this morning. Almost immediately I got a text: it asked me to reply "Keep" if the appointment was still on. I replied "Keep." I got a confirmation text, and it asked me to reply "Change" if I needed to change the appointment or "Fixed" if the problem had gone away. Neither of those applied, so I did nothing. I took the day off work to wait for the tech. And this morning got the text, "Your appointment is now cancelled. Thank you for being our customer." I mean, What the actual? I contacted the customer "support" through the app, and after a maddening round of "That is not an option," I got a person on the Indian Subcontinent who informed me that my appointment was cancelled because I had not answered a text. I'm sorry, WHAT? You cancelled because I did not give an answer to a text that required no answer? Whereupon this person changed the answer to, "We detected your Internet was working so our system cancelled the appointment." Please note that in the initial round, I had made clear that the problem was "intermittent," meaning that a signal now does not mean a signal in ten minutes. Right now I'm sending this angry Yelp review through my Hotspot. I demanded to speak to a supervisor. They rescheduled my appointment for tomorrow. I said I needed it today. They said tomorrow was the earliest they could do. "Do you get to take two days off work in a row because you're waiting on a technician?" I asked. The answer was somewhat vague, but amounted to "No, but it's rude of you to ask." I'm more angry than I can express on Yelp without severe censorship, and furious at Frontier. They've practically got a monopoly on Fiberoptic in my area, so it's pointless to say "I'm going to switch." But I'll be damned if I ever pretend to be happy with customer "service" this bad. read more

Mr. David Scott came out to service our home and did an absolutely wonderful job. Please give this man a raise. He was courteous, listened to all my wants, and helped get the exact set up I've wanted FOR YEARS. I wanted a direct line to my bedroom for over 3 years with Optimum and they had their excuses not to do it. I am primarily an online gamer so I hated relying on WiFi which could drop out for no reason at all. This was no problem at all for Frontier to setup for me. Thank you so much! read more

Frontier is only concerned with charging you. I would highly recommend searching for a different provider. They will charge you regardless if your internet is working or not. They will attempt to keep you from cancelling by offering "on hold" which comes with a hidden fee not stated on the phone or any record sent to you. A restocking fee of $50, for real! A restocking fee how idiotic is that cash grab? Absolute garbage. Frontier makes sure to not let anyone else have the title of the worst provider as their customer service is head and shoulders the most deceptive and useless. Save yourself the headache and look for someone else. If you have no other choice, I feel sorry for you. Frankly, after experiencing them, I'd say it would be more favorable to be trapped in a room with a mountain lion for five minutes than spend five minutes on the phone with them. read more

After more than ten years with Suddenlink any ISP would be seem better, but Frontier isn't just better than Suddenlink. It's vastly superior. Our Internet was down about 15 minutes today. First off, it's extremely rare that it's down at all. When I phoned in I talked with a human being who told me that it was a general outage. As I was on the phone the representative she said it was showing signs of reviving. It wasn't long until I received a text message that it was back up. When Suddenlink was the only provider this kind of turnaround was nearly impossible. If you could get a human on the phone at all you'd be fed nothing but misleading information. We've been on Frontier for two years now and we're still extremely pleased with the service. read more

For those of you thinking about switching to Frontier, I'm sharing information about problems their company is having with the FTC and the unbelievable problems I had with my initial purchase, the installation and trying to get those problems resolved. TL/DR version: Frontier screwed up my order, did an defective installation, the technician didn't fix the problem and just left showing the install complete, I spent several hours talking to numerous people and the problems are still not resolved. Frontier has been installing fiber networks in my area for about two months or so and I decided to try them. During my 1G install, my mbps was significantly lower than before the install (I did speed checks on all my computers and devices). The technician said he would try to fix it, but when he came back numbers were still very low. For example, I was getting 333mbps on one of my devices before install, but 117mbps after the install. I told him this was unacceptable and that maybe he should recheck the wiring and connections and that if he couldn't fix it, he needed to disconnect everything, pack it up and that I would stay with Suddenlink. He went back out to do this (I thought). When I went outside to give him his third bottle of water, he was GONE. He didn't tell me he was leaving or tell me that he updated the job as completed. This was extremely unprofessional. I tried to get someone out that day to fix it or pick up the equipment, but Frontier's tech and sales department (I talked to about six different people who said it wasn't their job to fix and just connected me with a different department) were not at all helpful. The first person I spoke with said that someone would be out by 5pm to remove the equipment from my home. No one showed at 5pm as promised. I talked to several people after 5:30pm to try and get this resolved with absolutely no success. In addition, the sales representative who set me up with this account was supposed to bundle me with DirecTV. They were supposed to set me up with DirecTV Streaming, because I'm renting and the property owners did not want a satellite on their property or home. I was also supposed to get the DirecTV Ultimate package for $89.99. What I got instead was an appointment for Satellite service and the Choice package for $89.99. It took me three hours to resolve the satellite vs streaming problem and I'm still working with DirecTV to fix the Ultimate vs Choice problem. read more
