I got glasses here back in the '90s when they were on Union Square. Always loved them, but got distracted by the corporate likes of Warby Parker. When I returned recently, I happened to notice a series of diplomas on the wall--some very intricate and practically Victorian. Turns out the proprietor is a THIRD-generation SF optometrist, and very dedicated to his craft. While I might save a few bucks by going to Warby (or, God forbid, Zenni), I'm SO happy to have rediscovered this place.

Came here randomly one day while roaming the streets. This was my first time looking for a new pair of sunglasses in 9 years after losing them twice (they are officially lost). So came here spontaneously and tried on a few pairs but wasn't ready to buy. Came back a few days and got the one pair I was most in love with. Everyone is unbelievably nice and friendly. Chris is the one who was helping me. Though I had the pair I for sure wanted, I needed them to fit perfectly before I left the store because I'd be traveling for a bit and knew I couldn't come back. Chris was extremely patient and corrected all the issues to the fullest. And compared to many other sunglasses I've tried on, the prices for these sunglasses are comparable / less expensive and just as great quality. I like the ambiance of the store. The lighting just makes it easier to see what the glasses look like indoors. They even let you try it outside with the sun (they have an outdoor mirror). Thankfully SF has been sunny lately so I've lucked out at trying them on with sun. I highly recommend!

Friendly, helpful service, and incredible selection of frames ranging from basic to high fashion (though from last season), at reasonable prices for both frames and lenses. The store branding is worth a visit in itself, with lots of references to the London Underground without being at all kitschy. Even the train ticket business card is so perfect.

Absolutely horrific store and terrible employees. They'll tell you they know more than your doctor and refuse to look for frames with the specs your doctor sent you in with. When you insist you're going with your doctor recommendations and not their gut feeling, they'll get aggressive. In fact, they may even invite you outside to fight, as the man in the photo did.

Do they do soldering to fix glasses?

Desiree, We send it out, assuming it is repairable. The cost for soldering is $69 and it takes about a week. Hope this answers your question.

I was able to do the new patient paperwork beforehand and the online system was clear and easy to use. The office was clean and upscale in appearance. Dr. Dagron was lovely. Efficient, kind and a great guide when deciding what to get. My old optometrist was always trying to upsell me on services but I felt like Dr. Dagron just wanted to get me what I needed (glasses and contacts) and best leverage my insurance rates. I highly recommend Eyes On You Optometry if you want a professional and empathetic optometrist and an exceptional experience from beginning to end!

We were able to find a nice pair here (costly but that was ok), and got an updated eye test/prescription. Unfortunately, after a couple of days they were causing headaches and eye pain. He decided to continue to wear them since they were knee and maybe needed to get used to it. Still nothing. Called the store, and got seen. The primary doctor there made some adjustments, and took them back. Same thing, they resulted in pain/headaches. The dr felt careless and not very understanding, let alone interested in getting this right. Not returning given the lack of care and professionalism around this. We thought we'd find our new neighborhood eye glass shop too, but that was a fail.

Gorgeous showroom selection of their own line of glasses, and they don't pressure you to buy. Location: lovely Hayes Valley with some free street parking and lots of options to eat/shop after Technology: I used to think state of the art equipment didn't matter for a routine eye exam, but it makes for a more comfortable experience, helps establish baseline images, and identify things otherwise easily missed so you can monitor Service: Easy check in and check out process at the front Appointments: Love the ease of scheduling appointments online and easy to get a hold of on the phone. Appointments are on time with plenty of time to ask lots of questions (which is encouraged). Saturday appointments are much appreciated. Dr: Supportive, friendly, calm demeanor, comprehensive and extremely detailed, takes a lot of notes to build a comprehensive file, good at explaining concepts and very patient Emergency: I had a tiny stray piece of velcro fly into my eye and I freaked out about it because I couldn't find the velcro. It was totally fine like she suspected but I super appreciate she squeezed me in same day to calm my nerves.

Tihis review is long overdue. Unforuntaley, one of my coworkers recommended this store to me and I…read morethought it would be great becasue it was a few blocks away from work. I bought a pair of $800 dollar OPT glasses that I can't wear. I went to the store 10-15 times in an attempt to get glasses that I could wear. First the order was lost, I tried to cancel the order but was pressured into keeping the order. Then the wrong lens were put in, and the frame was way to big for my head (frame too heavy for tiny wire arms), etc. The list is long. Countless adjustments and hours spent at the store. None of the glasses really fit my small head and so I settled on a pair of glasses that were medicore in style and comfort. They talked me into adding nose pads so that the glasses would fit my face. Buyer beware, glasses are non refundable. Once the staff add nose pads or make changes to the glasses so that you can actually wear them, they are non refundable. The first staff person I dealt with Allen was horrific. Pushed the most epensive glasses that did not fit me nor were they ever going to fit me. He tried to curl the wires around my ears which was so uncomfortable I couldn't wear the glasses. Talked about the limited ediciton and how the glasses were from France. Oh, and I could resell them. He also pretended to not recognzie me when I came back several times for adjustments and finally a new pair of glasses. One of the staff told me that no one could wear the glasses Allen sold me becasue the frames were too heavy. I have had amazing cutomer service at Target's Optical store. The glasses aren't fancy but the frames are comfortable, returnable and I can buy insurance which protects them when or if they break or become damaged. More expensive doesn't equal better customer service here.
