Five Stars - Target Optical SODO / Downtown Orlando…read more I rarely write reviews with this much emphasis, but my experience at Target Optical in SODO / Downtown Orlando was exceptional enough that I sincerely hope this reaches district leadership and the executive team at Target Optical. Camilla, the Manager of Target Optical, is the reason I am writing this review. Whatever Target is paying her, it is not enough. She stepped in with professionalism, confidence, and genuine care, answering my questions in a way that immediately made me feel comfortable purchasing through Target Optical. She explained the lenses and options clearly, shared her own experiences, and made the entire process feel honest, helpful, and personable. Camilla is exactly the type of leader every customer-facing company should want representing their brand from the moment a customer walks in until the moment they leave. She is the single-handed reason I will recommend Target Optical to my friends and family. If she has not already asked for a raise, she absolutely should. Alejandro was also excellent. He helped me order my Meta Gen 2 glasses and was incredibly helpful, personable, and easy to work with throughout the process. Dr. Amy Lauer was calm, kind, and efficient. She made the exam feel comfortable and welcoming, almost like being helped by family. As a business owner with a packed schedule and daily meetings, I truly appreciated how quick, smooth, and professional the entire visit was without ever feeling rushed. This team delivered the kind of experience that builds real trust in a brand. Camilla, Alejandro, and Dr. Lauer made Target Optical stand out in a major way, and I truly hope Target corporate recognizes the incredible talent they have at this location.

I then moved to another area, away from my original store to get some trials and order new contact lenses. The "manager" Daniel said they couldn't because each doctor is independent. Which I thought was ridiculous because I've been wearing contacts for 15+ years and with any other major optical group, even if they don't share the same system, if you show your Rx, they take care of you - not try to force you to be seen again. This ruined my experience with Target Optical and I wouldn't go back.

The receptionist and the billing department agreed to extend a larger discount than the plan required, which was very nice. The initial exam was very thorough and the eye dilation drops were administered expertly. I had the chance to price eyewear; but, lacking insurance the cost is prohibitive. I'll be taking my prescription to the discount store I bought my glasses at the last couple of times.

I called today on January 30, 2024 and they said that my glasses may not be done until the end of this week it was overall terrible experience.

My husband and I recently moved to the area and were in desperate need to getting our eyes checked as we work mainly on our computers and haven't been able to have any checkups last year due to COVID. It was super easy to make an appointment online (I love this feature so much) and we were able to book our appointments a week out. As the office is in Baldwin Park, the only parking available is street parking; so get comfortable parallel parking. I felt very happy with the social distancing measures and COVID precautions taken by the office. They only allowed 1-2 clients in at a time and only patients with appointments were allowed in. I think walk-ins would've been welcomed, but only if the office didn't already have clients inside. My entire experience was pretty painless and I ordered a new pair of glasses and received some pretty good advice and recommendations from Dr. Jagani. Kim and McKenna were super helpful in finding me a pair that suited my face. I docked half a star because they tried pretty hard to sell me on doing a retinal scan/photo -- while I understand that it would likely provide good information about my eyes, I didn't feel that I needed/wanted it during this appointment. I had declined it on the online Patient Intake Form, but was offered the service on three separate occasions during my appointment. It just felt a bit awkward having to turn down something four times, in total. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service provided by Baldwin Park Eye Care and am happy to have them on my medical care team.

Btw nothing is wrong with me he just didn't know how to look at someone's optical nerve and caused me to waste $500 to go to a specialist the same day. For what? For nothing. So no I DO NOT WANT to have another appointment and would be lovely if they could stop calling me and reminding me of the time they scared me to death.

He went in the back a few times to look for different colors and helped with minor adjustments too. I had trouble with some of their wide width glasses still being a bit too tight and he found some that were extra wide, and those fit a lot better. Usually I'm fine, but none of their frames had those springs that make the arms(legs?) go outwards. I had glasses like this before and they squeezed my head and gave me a headache. I understand they can be adjusted but past history wants me only wanting those glassed with springs. The price wasn't too bad with the frames and progressive lenses. I planned on going back if I didn't find something elsewhere, but I got lucky at another place. As a contact wearer for a long time, I'm always concerned about my eye health. I trust they're making sure my retina, cornea, lens, iris, optic nerve, macula, sclera and that ever important vitreous body are all in tip-top shape. They do both medical exams and "vision" exams (the one where you get glasses afterwards) and I've had both. Even though they stopped taking my vision insurance, I think they still take my medical insurance so I plan on continuing here for those. Again, they go all Henry David by being Thorough. The staff is always super helpful and accommodating and I get some cool roll up sunglasses on each trip! That Florida sun can be bright when I have eyes like Betty Boop! I will say their pricing on glasses is a bit high, so you may want to take your prescription and head to Costco or some other place to get the style you like at a reasonable price.
