After going through and reading reviews I decided to give Trinity Eye Associates a try and I'm so happy I did. I appreciate that they have Covid precautions in place. The staff was super friendly and Dr Donald Ellison - professional, knowledgeable and provided me with different options. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly! They take care of you as soon as you walk through the door and I didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes (if that) in the waiting room to get my appointment going. Dr. Ellison is patient and kind and I genuinely enjoyed speaking with him. I was alone at my appointment and the woman in the front gave me her honest opinion and I ended up loving a pair of glasses that I would've never tried!! Everyone was extremely welcoming and I can't recommend this place enough! The office staff are greedy, unempathetic and lack compassion for the patients. They have a policy that states you must complete your follow up visits after your initial exam within 30 days but because I got the flu a few days after my 1st visit and 10 days later tested positive for COVID I was unable to go back in the office to do so. I was sick or in quarantine for a total of 36 days. On the 42nd day, they wanted to charge me an additional fee of $95 to have my follow up visit because my prescription wasn't correct. I think that's ridiculous because I couldn't even go back into their office based off of CDC guidelines and their own office policy. I even took my medical records to them to prove my positive results and my 4 urgent care and hospital stays. No compassion and only looking out for the $$$$$$. read more

Wow, I wish I could give this establishment less than one star. These doctors have no idea what they're doing. Just to give some background, I had emergency surgery for a detached retina about two months before I came in. I needed a new prescription since the surgery ruins your vision even more. I saw the reviews and decided to give Trinity a try. I wanted to get fitted for contacts and new lenses on my glasses. First off, they gave me the wrong prescription. It was off BY A WHOLE POINT. This was proven by my ophthalmologist one week later when I went back to see him for a checkup. Second off, they gave me a shape of my eye that was COMPLETELY off, which was also proven by my ophthalmologist. Third off, they sold me a years worth of contacts that didn't fit when I came in. My pupil in my detached eye is slightly bigger than my other pupil now after the surgery, which causes my pupil to go outside the optic zone of the contact and causes double vision. I asked them if there's anything they can do about this. They told me, "You just have to get used to the contacts. They're different now" and proceeded to sell me a year's worth of contacts, promising me that they'd be fine after a while. They told me they had no contacts that could fit for bigger pupils, but my eye would surely get used to it. Well, here I am nine months later wondering why I still haven't gotten used to them. I decided to try Special Eyes, a contact manufacturer who makes contacts with large optic zones for people like me, who then told me that Trinity is a dealer for Special Eyes. YEP, you heard that correct. They had it the whole time. They just didn't want me to go and return the contacts I've already bought. Folks, skip out on this place. They want your money. If you have eyes like mine, definitely do no go here. Try Southwest Orlando Eye Care. read more

I had an urgent eye issue on a Saturday... there are not a lot of eye doctors around in town that could quickly see me which brought me into Trinity Eye Associates (Thanks to Eye Clinic down at Turkey Lake for the referral and saving me the drive from Oviedo). I will write a short blurb giving them the kudos. I was immediately and warmly greeted by all of the staff of this office which speaks volumes of what kind of business they want to present. My check in was quick, swift and professional with a smiling face on every single employee. Employees seems very happy to be working here. They have complimentary snacks in the backroom giving some what of "upscale-homey flair" to this place. I had the opportunity of working with Dr. Jill Ellison. She has excellent bedside manners and takes ALL the time in the world to explain, address and allow for as many questions as possible. She really understood what was needed to be done and was very pleasant. There is nothing to not to like about her. She was accommodating and was willing to work with me to address my vision needs. I would highly recommend this place for minor vision urgent care as well as if you are in need of a routine eye exam. If you have an emergency eye issue that may require surgery, then you should go see an ophthalmologist. Just think this place is as a primary eye care physician clinic. 5 star customer service! :-) read more

The frame broke in less than an year. They mentioned glasses were scratch resistant , but lied. The glasses scratched easily in first 1-2 months of usage. Poor material used in eyewear but all big false claims. They rip you off like anything as everything is pricey with false quality claims. read more

I'm so lucky to have such an amazing Eye Doctor in my neighborhood! Doctor Jill Ellison herself was super personable, friendly, informative and even offered me some alternative options for contact lenses based on my current lifestyle and the new technology. She was so fun to chat with and was very informative as she went through the exam explaining what the various procedures checked when it came to the operation and health of my eyes. Loved that. Both her and her staff are super friendly. They were all very pleasant and I walked out of there with new contacts that make me feel like I'm not wearing any. :) I'll be bringing the rest of the fam here for our eye care very soon :) read more

Both Dr's Jill and Don Ellison have been a great help in the care of my vision. Knowing my family background and the potential for glaucoma due to genetics they have made me take better care of my eye health. They have been a source of comfort and ease in the process to get on top of my eye care as I have experienced trauma in my eye as a child. Not only are they friendly and courteous, but they have truly shown to care about their patients. The check in staff and assistant care has also been exceptional. Their reception is warm and they are not pushy with products which is great for the customer as this can be overwhelming. So, it's been over a year since my first review so it's time to do some updating. First of all, I've converted my brother and mother into Trinity fans. I took my brother in (who suffers from severe social anxiety) to get his eyes checked and some new glasses. He really liked the place and didn't feel any major anxiety at all thanks to the place being smaller and the fact that they don't seem to double book appointments like some places where you can't even find a seat for the 2 hour long wait to see the doc. He also liked the frame selection and even a year later is happy with the great quality of the lenses which haven't flaked as our others have. I went for my yearly appointment in Jan or Feb and again enjoyed the friendly atmosphere created by the staff and doctors. Dr. Ellison gave epically rocking explanations on some of the worries he had about my optic nerves and even brought in his wife just to get a second opinion because he wanted to give me the best possible help. I've never before been to a doctor that explained things so well as usually they just tend to tell you a diagnoses and expect you to google it to find out exactly what it means. I'm loving my glasses once again. :) The newest convert, my mother, luckily got an appointment on the day before Mother's Day and they were having one of there many events to celebrate Mother's Day by giving out roses and providing snacks and drinks. When she was finished with the doctor and we drove of, she could not stop gushing at how great the doctor was and how she never wants to go to her usual eye clinic again. She said he made her laugh and she appreciates his knowledge and the way he did the explanations. On a side note to my epic review, I recommend ignoring that 2 star review I noticed considering that it's not the doctors office fault that insurance companies in general make life difficult for everyone. I've never had a problem with any of the front desk girls who have always been polite and accommodating. As a past medical biller myself at a large medical office, I always recommend calling the insurance company yourself if you are concerned about coverage or price as they sometimes do not give accurate and up to date information to the doctor offices. Definitely TL;DR? Place is still awesome. Doctors actually explain what they are doing and any problems they see. They often have fun events where they offer discounts on lenses. Frame selection is good and lens quality is fantastic. Go there and you'll be a customer for life. read more

Great Place.......The folks at Trinity Eye Associates were very "accommodating" from the moment I first called for an appointment. They worked around my busy work schedule, got me in quick, practically no waiting once i arrived and got me back to work very quickly WITHOUT being "RUSHED" out the door that often happens at many Dr's offices. I filled out the online forms which allowed them to be ready for me when I walked in. The Doc came in and she was extremely thorough while explaining every step along the way. The Staff were extremely polite. Nice frame selection - perhaps a little too feminine for my taste. I play a lot of out door sports and their sunglass frame selection was week which is why i didn't give them a 5 on the rating........but that's just my opinion! read more

Note: posted below review on Google, putting it here too. ------------------------- Pros: Fast, professional, nice, mostly transparent, up-to-date exam technology, wide selection of eyewear, conveniently located, $15 co-pay for annual eye exam with VSP insurance, $39 for retinal screening, Amanda and frame attendants courteous, on-time/prompt, great follow-up emails and coordination/organization Cons: Very expensive to buy glasses in shop. I have an insurance that covers $200 for a new frame, and I was asked to pay ANOTHER $350 out of pocket for a plastic frame I had just tried out. I suppose it costs less than $10 to make the frame I requested, being plastic. And probably less than $50 to apply the several lens coatings I requested. I went online and found a greater selection of frames, with more protective/beneficial lens coatings, for 1/3 of the price without insurance ($350 to $120, EyeBuyDirect.com). Also the attendant Tommy was quite nervous while doing the retinal screening and quickly attempting to dilate my eyes (and do IOP) without my permission. They definitely need to talk with him and change their policy about running people over with tests before they have their verbal permission to do so. Many businesses do not realize that insisting on putting a potentially blinding object right on top of someone's eyes requires CONSENT. And I see fake positive reviews on google, and probably Yelp as well. Understandable, as it's part of business competition. read more

One would not expect such an amazing location from the simple Eyecare sign outside. The office inside is well spaced, well thought out and nicely decorated. Selection of glasses looked enticing as I noticed quite a few pairs I would like to try. Most frames had a quality feel. The real star of the location is the staff. Even though we were there until nearly closing time, not once did we feel rushed. They were always willing to answer any question in a kind and courtesy manner. The entire staff was well dressed, but none more so than Dr. Donald Ellison whom looked quite dapper. Dr. Ellison was knowledgeable and considerate in all replies. The shop seems designed around quality of care versus volume, which is a nice surprised compared to many modern medical offices. The assistants are personable and do an excellent job of welcoming you to the office. My family and I have been patients of Trinity Eye Associates for several years now and I can not give them a rating high enough to reflect our satisfaction with their care. In the last year we have had two eye emergencies. First my adult son had a finger severely poke his eye during basketball. He was seen, treated right away and given a discount as he didn't have insurance. Recently my husband had an extreme floater situation that caused concern. After examining him and determining he needed a specialist; they made that phone call and secured him an appointment the next morning. Dr. Ellison gave him his cell phone number in case there were any problems overnight and called the next day after the appointment to see how he made out. The quality of the care is extraordinary. Dr. Jill was amazing when she helped me get into rigid contact lenses! She worked with my insurance company to make things as easy and affordable for me as possible and fine-tuned my fittings until we found the most comfortable pair of contacts for my eyes. I have a super strong astigmatism in both of my eyes and have reached that lovely stage in life where progressive lenses are necessary. The rigid lenses that she has me in now have given me better vision than I had in my glasses, let alone my soft contact lenses! Very thankful and very impressed with the whole office! read more

I went into this place and was greeted warmly. I spoke with Dr. Jill where we discussed financial stuff for future appointments. I was quoted a price by Dr. Jill for myself and my husband. Months later, by phone and then again in the office, we talked money. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to matter. When my husband went in for his eye exam, he was greeted by a dramatically different price upon checkout. The girls who work there were very kind. But the one handling the insurance, was rude and abrasive!. She did not want to charge my husband what the doctor herself promised. The fact that the doctor was aware of what was going on didn't matter to her. Rather than jumping in and saying she quoted us $30, she quietly shirked away, leaving my husband standing there like a fool. Now, I don't know about most people, but when I'm quoted a number $150 more than originally, I'm upset! The girl dealing with the insurance was equally rude with me on the phone. I called to fix what I thought was a misunderstanding. Not the case. She pretty much threatened me in a way that was much practiced, with a promise of future bills that I would be responsible for! She would not adjust the bill and was quite adamant she was right and I was wrong! o much for the customer being right!! Bad Business!!! We had just moved into the area where we bring a future business of children and grandchildren. I cannot quite understand why Dr. Jill went silent and did not acknowledged her part in what happened. If Dr. Jill is in fact the owner and then boss, why did she run into the back?? Makes me sad to be a victim to a bait and switch. read more

I just moved here about 2 years ago and was looking for a good eye Doctor. Thank god I found Dr. Don at Trinity Eye Associates. After 30 years of seeing different eye doctor's in Cincinnati, Dr. Don tells me something that no OTHER DOCTOR took the time to tell me and listen to me. When taking the eye exam I see double when most people see single. Which I have told doctor after doctor, but they would just keep on going with the exam.
