He went in the back a few times to look for different colors and helped with minor adjustments too. I had trouble with some of their wide width glasses still being a bit too tight and he found some that were extra wide, and those fit a lot better. Usually I'm fine, but none of their frames had those springs that make the arms(legs?) go outwards. I had glasses like this before and they squeezed my head and gave me a headache. I understand they can be adjusted but past history wants me only wanting those glassed with springs. The price wasn't too bad with the frames and progressive lenses. I planned on going back if I didn't find something elsewhere, but I got lucky at another place. I already had a prescription, so I was just looking for frames and lenses and can't comment on the eye inspection (is that what it's called?)

Using the tray was kind of awkward as picking up frames and trying on frames was difficult with one hand. You'd think I'd be an expert in that though... I had a prescription already, so I was just looking to find a new pair and after going through some frames, I found a pair that fit well and looked acceptable and we were onto the pricing portion. Luckily, they were having a Labor Day sale with 50% off Lenses and 30% off Frames. Score! We went through the fitting process, she attached some type of measuring thing to the glasses to measure my head or something or other and placed the order. I had a prescription already and was just shopping around for glasses. I walked in and was greeting by a gentleman who explained how it works and how they have a get two pairs special. I didn't need two pairs and I wasn't sure how to just buy one pair (nor did the guy explain it well), so I was immediately kind of doubting I'd get something here. I looked at the various framed which ranged from $99 to over $300 and just couldn't find something I liked or fit me well. Plus, the Mr. World dude wasn't there to entice me in any way. His amazement of this average store is misguided.

For starters, its been a decade for them providing me this service so I suppose that says it all for my satisfaction with the service here. I don't have any complaints. I typically call in the Summer to schedule my annual visit for the Fall. I've always been able to get my first or second appointment choice without issue. They are pretty good with the automated and personal reminders for appointments. If an earlier appointment becomes available, you'll get automated message to opt for the earlier appointment if you want it. Once on site, I'm typically greeted by the staff working up front in the showroom doing eye glass fittings, etc. The exam in performed in the back. At check-in, you're ID and insurance is verified and you're given a clip board with documents to complete. Probably best to arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to have time to complete these without a rush. Most of the time, I've probably waited 5-10 minutes after handing in my clip board before the tech takes me in for the ocular screenings. This takes about 10-15 minutes. Sometimes the Doc is immediately ready for you and sometimes there could be a short wait. Once you're done with the Doc, you pay and receive your prescription, if you have one. If you have a prescription and want to fill it, then you'd see the staff up front. Everyone has been cordial, friendly and helpful. Overall, its been good enough for me to continue coming back.

That said, as mentioned in other reviews it is an expensive place when it comes to products and while they do provide you a bare bones Rx they won't give you additional info to allow you to safely obtain (glasses, etc) from other affordable options. This signals that the focus is indeed profits over care, with care focused only if you're paying beyond the base yearly visit. Prepare to spend a few hundred out of pocket for a single pair of glasses, even with any insurance discounts. Also they will not provide you with PD - even if you ask. It's important PD is accurate otherwise ordering elsewhere can result in bad glasses. When I asked for PD, even after purchasing glasses from them, I was informed that PD is an internal measurement they do not share and that if I want it or need it then I'm able to just do it myself using online instruction or methods. For these reasons, I'll likely be trying somewhere new next year as I'd like to not have my personal health info locked behind privacy. After all, why can't I see my own health data?

I never feel rushed and he always answers my questions. I am also not in the habit of giving out my personal phone number. I did it once to a doctors office and they hammered my phone for 10 days with texts reminding me of the appointment. I now give out my work number that goes to an auto attendant. She kept belittling me about not confirming to texts, So I told her I would go elsewhere and left. Her boss and office lost business and I will never return. I have good eyeglass insurance. This experience was at the Alafaya office.
