The visit was nice and quick . They were very professional and had patience with me and my daughter for our contacts and glasses.

I went to Target Optical after checking out that they accepted my insurance. I went the last week of the year wanting to cash in on my benefits. I had a prescription for daily contact lenses that I got at the beginning of the year, so I didn't need the exam because I had it done already. IWhen I got there it was crowded for Christmas week, however they were very fast in seeing me and getting the authorization from the insurance. I did had a problem from my end at the moment of paying, I didn't have the right benefits cards to pay, I had to go home and find the right card. Even with that, I was in and out the same afternoon. I have been coming to this location for years. And now am disappointed in this location. Once again the doctor is awesome, this time it's Dr Washington. I usually see Dr Sawh, but she wasn't there. A man waited on me to help me pick out my prescription glasses. His name started with an "H", he wasn't as nice or friendly as Vicki or David or Laura that waited on me in the past. He kept looking at his watch! Btw, the eye acuity machine was gross and dirty. I asked the tech to clean it first. I need to find another vision center. Customer service has sadly diminish. The only reason I am giving Target one star is that there is no way to give them zero stars. I ordered prescription glasses, which came in quickly. I could not see very clearly out of them. Dr. Yip, who did my exam said to give it a few days. Well, after a few days I am still not seeing any more clearly. I was told I could make an appointment to have my eyes rechecked. I contacted the store and asked if I could go to another Target to get the problem fixed, and they said I would have to return here. I called corporate and they said I could go to another Target. Their own people don't know the policies. Beware, folks, once Target has your money, you don't matter anymore to them. They will give you the runaround. I will not return to Target, and I will warn my insurance company in the hopes that they stop using Target and spare other people this kind of hassle. read more

Cannot say anything but wonderful things about this location! The staff and techs are kind, helpful and professional. They remember their patients and really show that they care. Dr. Sawh is an amazing doctor and makes your appointment as comfortable and helpful as possible. The office is up to date with the the latest machines and technology, very clean, and they do a good job of consistent sanitation. David works front of house, and he is truly one of the main reason I keep coming back to this location, he is the best, A++ customer service, and he always goes above and beyond! Target should stick to selling groceries and merchandise!!!! I haven't been to an eye doctor in years and thought I could trust Target, well I was wrong! The doctor get me in there looked at my eyes and she said she needed to dilate them to get a better results. I allow them to the doctor pumps me out the door, disoriented she hands my paperwork to a sales associate and he tells me that I need glasses and I could pick a frame. Luckily my wife was there to help. We sit down to go over insurance and what they covers. I should have been more proactive in asking for my prescription, but with my pulps dilated I was not focused. The wife and I had dinner and went home I still could not see and asked her to read me the prescription and she does it is 1.00 and 1.25. I got mad and said I could have gotten readers from the rack, being mad I return the next day and inquire the guy working the counter says will that is low but you have astigmatism so you can't get regular readers. My friend at work suggested Lasik to correct the "astigmatism". I went today to Lasik Plus on Crane Roost Rd and the technician at the there was like, "is this a joke, are you playing with me?", I said no the Optic Center at Target said I have a bad astigmatism. She said your vision is 20/20 and astigmatism is .50, but lets double check with the doctor. The doctor confirmed and said when your eyes get tired and you notice it get a set of COTs readers at .75 and that will work fine for you. Come see us in about 5-10 years. Now, I don't know who I can trust for my eye care needs. I think I am going to find a reputable Doctors office. Don't go here unless you know you have an eye problem or you will walk out with a order for glasses you don't need. read more

I visited today to order some contacts and even though they pretty busy they were able to get me in and out. Laura was a very pleasant and helpful. She gave me the option of having my contacts shipped directly to my address instead of waiting a 2 or 3 weeks then picking them up from the store. For the short period of time I was around here made me want to have a full conversation. From what I saw in the office they have some great sales going on. I will definitely be going back to purchase a pair of sunglasses. read more

The doctor was super friendly & had a lot of information. The staff however kind of sucked. I walked in filled out paper work, sat down & this lady (who works there) started going over treatment with me & finances & I paused her & said "I haven't even gone back yet for any sort of exam..." She apologized. I understand If it happens once & its a mistake but it happened twice with a different staff member. After I got my exam done by the doctor, the receptionist or whoever was going over treatment & he was going over the WRONG treatment with me & was giving me discounts because he thought I worked at Target. It was so unorganized. I rarely leave reviews that are "bad" but I was so disappointed in this customer service. The deals are good with glasses especially with insurance, it just sucks my first visit wasn't the best. read more

Asked for a simple request and they just "could not" do it. If I purchase 6 months of contact supply from you and they are almost gone after two months.. something is wrong, am I right? As I'm explaining to them that the contacts are drying to my eyeball and I'm constantly have to change them weekly they then tell me there is nothing they can do. This place is a joke. read more

Dr. Amy Lauer is genuine, caring and takes her time answering all of your questions. She is thorough in her examination regarding both your vision and eye health. Richard is hilarious and the rest of the staff is very friendly. The overall experience was refreshing as well as comfortable. I will definitely come back for my next eye exam. I give this place 2 stars only because I really like the doctor, here. But, I will be looking elsewhere next year. Their appointment-making system is never working right, and they have 10 million excuses as to why. One of my associates at work tried to warn me about the system, but I had been going here 3 years so I didn't listen. Knowing how many problems I and others had had, I went in early to make sure an appointment I made a year ago and had confirmed through email was still good. They told me I hadn't confirmed it, and I had to be a walk-in. So, making an appointment a year earlier isn't confirmation enough, you have to confirm confirm and then confirm or they give your appointment away. I told them if I came back at my appointment time and they couldn't take me, I would leave. I had taken time off of work to be there. Mainly, my gripe is with a tech there named Haley. At one point, I had simply tried to say that there was a bunch of technical issues with their site, and that I knew there was an optical department manager, so I just wanted them to pass on the information that their site wasn't working and I was not the only person having trouble. She took every opportunity to cut me off and kept raising her voice and talking over me. And all this to try to command me to go sit in the chair so she could do my preliminary exam. I will never understand someone who thinks that is a proper way to talk to a person that is trying to spend money at your establishment. And, then, she had to stand over me and give me a preliminary exam for 10 minutes like that was going to be real comfortable after she yelled at me. Great bedside manner, there. Basically, it ended with "next time call," but you know... when you work full time and go to school part time, there isn't a ton of time left for the phone, which is why I kept using the web portal. This Optical is all messed up! Completely insensitive staff. They made a huge deal because it took me two months to return, but my father had passed away and that took presidence. My glasses were too short....They tried adjusting it, but then the glasses would contantly fall off my face. They didn't want to admit that they sold me a child's pair of glasses. Even worse....I can barely see out of them. My son sees better out of mine...and I see better out of his. They mixed up the prescription. What a rip off! I gave one star because my daughter has glasses and can see through them. 1 out of 3. Please take Target off your list for glasses. Tell your friends and family. read more

It's not often I write negative reviews. First, let me say that the staff were very helpful and the prices were quite reasonable. I ordered two pair of glasses during one of the recent sales a pair of Rx eyeglasses and one pair of Rx sunglasses. I was told it would take 1.5 weeks. As of today, 3 weeks later - I'm still waiting on the sunglasses and just picked up my eyeglasses yesterday. I'm used to waiting about an hour - so I won't be returning to Target Optical. read more

Doctor told me my current prescription of PureVision2, which I was very happy with, was killing my eyes and not approved for overnight wearing. Saw later she was wrong but still insisted that I change to a brand which is not appropriate for sensitive eyes like mine, instead of admitting her aggressive mistake and lack of knowledge about the products she prescribes. I now have irritated eyes and apparently permanent floaters (black spot) in the dead center of my right eye within weeks after being happy with my current prescription for years (and telling her so), and will not be returning to a doctor who shouldn't have received a cent for the rushed "service" I received. I actually got a massive downgrade on my vision and was led to believe that my previous doctor was incompetent when the opposite turned out to be true-- what a mistake. My vision is permanently obscured because of an irresponsible and uneducated optometrist. AVOID. read more

Went here once. Doctor Shaw is great, but the associates that work there are awful. They have horrible selection for glasses and I asked if they could tell me my measurements for Pupillary Distance so I can order the glasses I want online, but they refuse. I previously called the store and asked if that was something they could help me with and they told me yes. However, the older women with the cat eye glasses told me they can't help me. I get it I am not buying glasses from you, but that doesn't mean you can throw customer service out the window. Get all your associates on the same page. read more

I got my eyes examined a few days ago, and purchased glasses at Target in Waterford.. great experience.. The staff was awesome! It was very busy, yet I wasn't left alone to just wander around trying to find what I needed.. They have a nice selection for the size of the shop.. everyone was happy and made everyone feel welcome. Dr. Sawh was amazing, and the staff was too!! They took my insurance and I was able to get a second pair at a great %.. I got my glasses really fast!!! I'll be back next year.. read more

I bought a pair of eyeglasses at Target and once I received them about 2 weeks later I immediately noticed that it was missing one of the decorative crystals. I stopped by the Target optical the day after and they said they were going to order a replacement pair. 3 weeks later and nothing so I stopped by the store again and they gave me some excuses and basically said the new frame hadn't arrived. 2 weeks later and the same thing happened. I went a third time (this was 2 months after I first got the glasses) and the lady in front told me that she didn't know anything about it because she was a new employee but she promised me to call me back that same day with more information on my glasses. It has been a month since then and no call yet. I've given up on Target. No more business from me and I've also told friends/family about my experience so they don't waste their time and money there. Yes, I know it's a crystal and I can replace it myself but you would expect your brand new frame to be in perfect condition when you get it. But what can you expect about $20 frames "Made in China" that they resell for hundreds of dollars? I cringe to think if they would have been as irresponsible had it been an issue with the glasses (prescription) itself....Never again! read more
