Refreshing cucumbers for the Hummus...
Fefe P.

Late Sunday afternoon found me and my mom on a mission for tasty Middle Eastern food. And, Open Sesame delivered, big time! This place is easy to miss and the exterior is low-key--so keep an eye out. The inside is casual with faux grass on the ceiling and walls, nothing too fancy, but it works. We started with hummus, crispy falafel, and lentil soup and from the first bite, we were impressed. For the main meal, I ordered a Mixed Grill Plate that came with beef shish kabab, chicken tawook, and kafta over rice. You can choose two sides for an additional up-charge (we didn't), but it's a nice option to have. The meal also came with complimentary olives, pickled veggies, and pita...all of which were very yummy. I'm not usually a rice gal (unless it's sushi), and I almost always sub it out for salad, but the server kindly advised keeping it "as is". I'm glad I did--the rice was fragrant, and absolutely delicious. Also, service was friendly, and the price point was a great value for the quality. Simple and delicious! If you're looking for unfussy, authentic Middle Eastern food in Dallas, this is one to check out. Happy Eating!

If you're craving Lebanese food in the Dallas area, Open Sesame is a great spot! I went in the evening for a friend's birthday (party of about 12 people), and the service was quick and efficient. While the decor is minimal, the ambiance is still pleasant. I got the chicken shawarma, which was delicious, light, flavored, and beautifully seasoned. There's a small parking lot. Overall, I greatly enjoyed my experience at Open Sesame. The food is tasty, the prices are affordable, and it's definitely worth a try!

By far the best falafel wrap I've had outside of the Detroit metro and the Middle East! Absolutely fantastic food. I'll be a regular!

I ordered the Ultimate Mixed Grill to share with my boyfriend. They start you off with pita and oil/seasonings and then brought out the baba ghanoush and hummus for us to start dipping before the mains came out. Overall everything was super fresh and flavorful. I was very impressed with the chicken and kafta especially, but all the meats were well seasoned and tender! The tabouleh and fatoush were completely new to me, so it was nice to try new flavors for the first time in this mixed platter. It also comes with a garlic sauce on the side. My only wish was that there was more rice for both of us-- it might be better to have a bowl of rice on the side so it's easier to grab a bit of everything. Our server was kind and the food came out at a reasonable pace. It is a more casual leaning restaurant but still very nice inside!

Freakin delicious lebanese food. Portions were big so we shared one plate between two people. The flavors are so good and you get a little variety of things to try. Would be back here in a heartbeat!

I've placed a to go order here before and have no complaints about the food. However tonight I had a terrible experience. I stood at the bar to place a to go order as I did once before. I was the only person at the bar waiting for service. 2 servers came to the bar and never acknowledged me or even asked if I needed assistance. They were busy so I didn't complain. 10 minutes later, a gentleman walked up to the bar and both servers looked up and asked what he needed. I guess they decided to stop serving black women. The food is great but customer service goes a long way with me. I won't be back.

very busy lunch today. Our service was fine though our server seemed shy and timid. Had to ask him several times what he said because he just didn't speak up loudly enough. kefta kebab was good as was the chicken Shawarma sandwich.

Order arrived with food spilled out the container. Ridiculous! Uber Eats won't accept the photo because the megabytes are too big!

Shish Tawook Shawarma Plate

AMAZING, JUICY, FLAVORFUL FOOD! Got the shish tawook and chicken shawarma combo and I think this may be one of the most tasty Mediterranean places I've ever had. Large portions, good value. The place was packed even on a Tuesday night despite lots of tables! Worth every penny. Would definitely come back.

Highly recommend the krafta and kunafeh. The kunafeh is dessert sweet cheese with pistachios and crispy layer on top drenched in syrup! It is deliciousssss! Krafta is well seasoned. I like spicy hummus as sides and that would be the only side I get. Regular hummus is good too but the spicy one has more flavor Food is good but service is always rude. I have not been here where they were nice to me. Once was rude tone over the phone ordering lunch and the other was condescending tone of why I arrived too early to pick up my food. Must be a cultural thing

Mixed Grilled Plate with Fatoush

This is hands down the best Mediterranean food I've ever had! I tried it for the first time and wow, it did not disappoint! The meat was super flavorful with a nice smoky touch, the rice was delicious, and the garlic sauce took everything to the next level. I've definitely found my new favorite spot and can't wait to go back!

I went here for lunch with a friend on a Saturday, The ambiance has a slight middle eastern feel and overall was fine. Parking was also find but I can imagine that it could get crowded during peak hours. We went for a late lunch so there was no problem. The restaurant was almost empty. We started with Kibbi, which are fried balls filled with seasoned meat, which come with a mint sauce. They were good and I would get them again. We shared the mixed grill ($18) which is enough for two people. It came with shish tawook (marinated and grilled chicken), beef kabob (I think it was filet because it was very tender), and one kofta. We each picked a side, me: hummus, friend: tabouli. it comes with rice and pita. I liked everything except the tabouli, which was gritty as if the parsley had not been washed well. Other than that, the proteins were all flavorful and well prepared, The hummus was not the best I had but it was not bad and more than adequate. The pita is thinner than usual but still useful as a vessel to pick up hummus and meats. The service was fine. Our waitress was not intrusive but was available when needed. The prices are extremely reasonable. This place is a good value. Overall, there is a lot to like about this restaurant and I would return.

Every single dish was PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. The chicken and veggies were seasoned with just enough spices where it had a slight kick, but not overpowering at all. A perfect balance to bring out the natural flavors of each item. The pita was perfection! Soft and warm, with a slight char on some of the pieces, which added such a beautiful bite with the hummus. Speaking of hummus, the Izmir hummus was silky smooth and incredible. I've had a lot of restaurant hummus and this one was MILES in ahead of them. It also paired beautifully with all of the other items. A flawless base. I cannot wait to come back here! Marcelo was an amazing waiter and even gave us recommendations for next time.

The Valentine's Day decorations were so cute and definitely added to the vibe. The food is always so good! They've added a few new items to the menu, don't skip the Burrata or the Chicken meatballs. I'm not usually a desert eater, but their Tiramisu is to die for! The service is spot on, as if they anticipate your needs, but not intrusive. On the way out they give the ladies a rose, a nice touch. I see why this place has become the beloved Dallas institution it is. I can't wait to go back!

The service was great, and everything came out quickly, which we really appreciated. So you can imagine it was a pretty big group. The place was buzzing as usual. Turns out two other groups were also celebrating their birthdays there. What are the chances? Ambiance/Atmosphere Rating: 9.5 out of 10. What we tried: Lamb Shank Plate: tender, fall off the bone lamb, with rice that is so tasty that you can just eat the rice by itself. I don't even like rice like that; it's not one of my favorite carbs. The Lamb had a very mild flavor. 9.5 out of 10 for me. Chicken Kebob Plate: normally I wouldn't order chicken kebob as I feel that it can get a bit dry, but not at this restaurant. Tbh, most Iranian kebabs are very juicy and flavorful, and this was the same. Another 9.5 for me. Overall Food Rating: 9.5 out of 10. Customer service was excellent. They were very patient with our large group. Didn't even roll their eyes when we requested them to take our pictures . They showed extreme patience with us from the beginning till the end. Well I hope it is isolated and not because they are growing too fast. I'd give 3.5 stars for this visit if I could. There was more staff than I've ever seen before however things seemed a little chaotic. One waitress rushed by the counter and knocked straws all over the floor - she saw she did it and didn't stop or come back to pick them up - one of the guys picked them up when he went by. There was a table that was uncleared nearly our entire meal - and the plates still had some food on them which I thought was unusual (I'm used to seeing clean plates or to-go bags). Our waitress was chaotic - hyper, rushed, and distracted. Not giving normal Fattoush vibes. The hummus was delicious as usual. Beautiful, & velvety. Their hummus has become my standard for what it should be. The grape leaves were extremely tart - tasted like a mouth full of vinegar. I haven't ordered them in a while and am hoping this is not a recipe change. Finished one & couldn't eat any more. The garlic dip was tamed way down. Made me sad because I like the stronger garlic. Again, hoping this is a one-off. An owner at another local establishment had told me that many tame it down because of the American palate. I can understand needing to find that balance of staying authentic vs please customers but I'm going to need the secret password to get the real stuff! Lol. (But seriously - if you know it, please let me know!) After trying their burger awhile back, my Mom hasn't been able to order anything but that as her entree. It is great. Steak fries are same as straight up American steak fries and good. She said next time she'll get the sauce on the side because it was heavy handed this time and overpowered the delicious meat. Bun wasn't holding up as it usually does. The chicken shish tawook was good as always however I was missing the bite from garlic dip. I love their rice! They have great yellow rice too. My husband and I shared and had some to bring home for one lunch. I got a piece of Iraqi bread because I've never ordered it before- it was really good! Served warm and bigger than large dinner plate. On our way out, while we were checking out the beautiful patio and new area to come, we had a 5 STAR moment when we saw Chef Bashar. I asked him if he'd consider doing a borek appetizer sometime as we had a delicious cigar (bc it was rolled) borek at a place in Dallas. He was very open to the idea and said they will be having 2 different menus when the new concept opens and adding more vegetable options. He also noticed my husband looking at the Palastine Cola in the drink case and told him to take one home and try. I thought this was extremely nice and generous. I look forward to continuing to support this great local business and believe this night was just an off night. You can also follow them on instagram to watch them make dishes, see specials & restaurant updates.
