Delicious. Next was the cheese board, we were warned that it was a large serving, and while it had a lot of variety, I don't think it was massive based on other cheese boards we had. We split the Korean chicken and skirt steak. Both were exceptional!! When we're back in the area, we'll definitely plan to visit multiple times during our trip. My only complaint was how tightly packed seats are in the cellar. The table directly behind us was sat a few minutes after we were and the guests were VERY loud, so it was hard to hear each other in the small space. Not a knock on P&P, just people not being able to read a room and realize they were disturbing guests around them.

The place was very clean and well maintained. Food: We were blown away by the food. I was amazed by what we ordered. My husband had their 'Monte Cristo' sandwich and LOVED it. He said it was the best sandwich he's ever had. I had their 'Catfish & Grits' which were delicious. It was packed with so much flavor. I loved the pickled onions that came on top of the dish. The catfish and grits dish hit all the tasting notes. It was sweet, savory, and a little sour with the pickled onions. I LOVED it. We will definitely be back during our trip in North Carolina. We've been to several Michelin star and recommended restaurants and Pure & Proper should be on the list!

Not like the typical artificial banana flavoring you'd find in a candy. It was sweetened just enough and topped with little vanilla wafer pieces. We were only inside for a short period of time, but this was a really cute place with comfy seating and a calm, quiet vibe. Staff were friendly and efficient. The only thing that could have made my drink better would have been more ice, but then I would have less of my delicious beverage, so I can't really complain.

Thankfully they have a parking lot so there's lots of parking available just outside. I was surprised it was so small for how busy it is (and inevitably always is, being in a tourist town)... the seating is cozy, but not plentiful. There didn't seem to be nearly enough chairs for the number of tables. There was plenty of space for a line of about 10 people which is good because it stayed that way for the 35-40min we were there. Friends and I ordered off the seasonal menu - the Ron Weasley was a popular order with chocolate, ginger and orange peel added to a latte. One of my GF friends was delighted to have an almond coffee cake and GF muffin. The croissants were nice, though not made of the pastry dough you'd expect - they were not at all flaky. Still, options were available for savory as well as sweet and everyone left with a fully belly and caffeinated. Mission accomplished!

We were impressed by the interest and fanfare this post-Helene event created for the locals. Parking on the street, across the street or a short way up the street is town free parking. Shannon and Rain were our friendly and helpful servers. There are many seating options. We chose the sun room which was comfortable. Others were seated outside on the side porch and several people were inside. We shared a bowl of the delicious French onion soup. Eat it while it's hot for the best experience. The buckwheat crepes were the perfect consistency to handle the savory entrees. My Market crepe was packed full of goodies including the sausage add-on. Each ingredient stood well on its own. The pesto was a standout. My partner got the mushroom crepe with chicken. She enjoyed immensely. Both entrees came with a fresh greens and balsamic dressing. The servings were generous enough to bring two halves home for dinner. Sharing soup and a savory crepe is a reasonable strategy if leaving leftovers in your vehicle during the summer heat is a concern. We joined the servers on the patio to watch the return of the train through a nicely recovering town.
