This is my second time ordering out and both times I got disappointed. The food was warm, the gyro sandwiches are horrible the meat is dry and burnt. The fires were also over cooked. The food at Opa Grill is pretty average. Greek salad is very watery (not sure if its how they wash off the lettuce or the kind of salad dressing they use), all the Greek food dishes average (nothing really stands out there and says, you have to try... and I've tried just about everything there), the deserts are average as well (just OK bakalava, etc..), and the dinner menu is very expensive. Food wise, the real reason my wife and I are frequent visitors is because of their lemon chicken soup. It's the absolute best lemon chicken soup that we've ever had. So for their soup, we love it. Everything else food wise, just average. As for the service.... The servers are very nice, however, they only employ one or two at a time, and they are always so overwhelmed (during normal dinner hours) that they just cannot pay attention to you. They want to.... Just don't have the time to. Wish they would have more servers working for a better dining experience. All in all, If it was just called Opa "Lemon Chicken Soup" Grill, it would be 5 stars.... My family and I used to enjoy this restaurant much more. Generally we order lunch specials, take it home and eat. They come with a small cup of soup, french fries, and we usually get a Gyro as the main part. If you get the salad then you do not get fries. The salad came with 4 or 5 small pieces of grilled chicken. The rest is basically lettuce, a minuscule amount of tomato, and cucumbers (we did ask for no olives or onion). Also an insufficient amount of dressing. We used to enjoy the food a lot more but over the last few visits, the quality has seemed to decline. To break it down, the gyro meat was dry, the soup was bland as can be and the salad was just not great. It's about $10 for the lunch special and you get a half filled cup of bland soup, soggy fries with many burnt ones included and a dry gyro. To me it's really not even worth it at half the price. Needless to say, my family will be looking for a new place to get our Greek food fix. read more

For my daughters 16th birthday she wanted to try something new so we decided on opa grille , it was a great decisions, everyone loved their dinner, my daughter had the moussaka and loved it, i had the mediterranean chicken, ( stuffed with spinach and feta) big portion and delicious, and my husband and my in laws had lamb chops.my husbands only complaint was the Lamb chops were small, but delicious. Delicious & the right price! The gyros here are magnificent, I won't go anywhere but Opa Grille. The staff is friendly and kind, the ambiance is warm and cozy, and the food is just plain delicious. The price is right, if you ask me, it's more than alright, I would almost pay double for anything they have there, the quality and quantity is so good. Great experience, definitely recommend! Hands-down the best place for Greek food around. Our favorite menu items? Their pita sandwiches (they have whole wheat pitas if you ask), lemon chicken orzo soup, greek salads (I get mine with chicken souvlaki on top), hummus, spicy feta dip, pork chops, stuffed filet... Oh Opa.. Well, besides the ROACH that we're pretty sure came out of our Takeout bag, (is that why they staple the bags shut?) - this WAS our favorite Greek Place :( So disappointed. I can't bring myself to go back to a place that has Roaches running around. (Thank God we killed the ONE & it didn't lay eggs.. YIKES at the thought!). The Owner said he gets it exterminated once a week! Hmm..? Yuck, regardless. Also, the girls up front aren't the friendliest. They always seem swamped & distracted. God forbid you want to open your bag to check on your order! They really don't like that. I hate that they just throw the Salad Dressing in the Bag. One time the lid wasn't snapped shut & it spilled all over everything. I ALWAYS order the Dressing on the side, otherwise it'll be soaked in it & if you want to eat leftovers, it keeps it from becoming too soggy. We've eaten here & gotten takeout MANY times over the years. I think it depends on who's in the Kitchen & if they're busy or not, which will determine the quality/taste of your meal. Honestly, it seems to have gone downhill since we first discovered it. Overall: When it's good, it's REALLY GOOD, and when it's eh, it's EH. No consistency. Will never be back. read more

So we first started eating at Williston park location and moved to massapequa- we actually drove back to Williston just to eat at opa. Then we found out about the bethpage location. Similar to its sister restaurant, we walked into the same hospitality, warmth and of course excellent food. Sometimes with two restaurants the quality will be really good at one and than lack at the other- this is clearly not the case here!!! Everything was amazing, and so much so that I am actually still sitting at the table writing this review! Love this place. The food quality is always top notch and the prices are in line with the quality of the food. The only bad thing is it gets SUPER crowded after 5:30 / 6:00. So get there early. All of the servers are wonderful and friendly. We go there at least once a week. read more

When the stuff is good, it's very good. It's just never consistent. Most of the time, the tzatziki sauce is wicked potent! Other times it's just runny, watery yogurt.. The amount of gyro meat also seems to have dwindled to little more than scraps. Last time I was here I ordered a gyro sandwich on the way to work.. Settled into my desk and looking forward to a tasty sandwich for dinner. Took a bite. It was just lettuce with 2 teeny tiny pieces of meat. It wasn't the first time that happened. So that was the last time I was gonna go there. It had been getting smaller for some time. The lettuce was fresh, very crisp.. so there's that. I can't give it less than 3 stars. The folks working there are always very nice and the traditional salad, it's called Hora- something, is always awesome. Very good. Salads here in general are always pretty good.. This is a good place to eat if your on a healthy vegetarian diet. Just don't expect good portions of meat in the sandwiches. read more

ordered a gyro and a chicken gyro as well maybe I caught them on a bad night I know they were getting ready to close in 15 minutes but the chicken gyro was so skimpy 4 very thin slices of chicken I was very disappointed. prices go up and the portions get smaller I don't think I would visit this place again. read more
