Foos was terrible. The falafel was like paste- not grainy and had no flavor. The rice was OK but I couldn't even finish the platter that they gave me. The falafel balls weren't even crispy on the outside. As far as service, pretty terrible. I ordered two falafel platters with white sauce. They said "you want white sauce instead of Tzatziki? I said no I'll actually have the Tzatziki with hot sauce. Left, drove all the way home and opened the platter. No Tzatziki, no white sauce and their hot sauce is the Chinese hot sauce packets. Aside from all of this- each platter was a whopping $24. TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS! For 4 pasty, inedible falafels and no attention being paid to what they are doing. My wife and I ate half of one platter and just threw everything else out- not even the dog would eat it. I'm not sure how they scored so high on yelp, but I will never be going back. read more

Go in person to order, there's a surcharge on internet orders. Lemon soup , gyro, spinach pie , fine, but some pitas too tough. Beef dishes, super tough, will break plastic cutlery, mine was inedible, so I gave it to my dog, too tough for him too, plus beef dishes are more expensive vs. other meats. read more

My aunt has lived around the corner from this place for over 20 years, and I've always seen it but I've never stopped. Well things changed yesterday. I came in for a quick dinner with my sister and we ordered a few things. We started with a spinach pie. We had a pita pizza, and we also ordered a wrap that included hummus and chicken. I would've taken more pictures but I was eating so fast wants the food was showing up (quick service, but I was famished and the food was delicious). Yeah, I know The staff was so friendly. And we were going to order at the counter, but then they told us they had dining-in menus; it was a vast array of food. I loved everything especially the housemaid vinaigrette. Nice little spot for a Greek food lunch fix. Lunch specials are a good value. I think I prefer the Souvlaki chicken over the gyro chicken. There was a lot of chicken given for the lunch greek salad with added chicken. Mozzarella sticks tasted fresh and not super salty like a lot of places. The fries came out hot, crispy, and very well seasoned (maybe too salty for some) but I enjoyed them. The only miss is the fried zucchini. Large portion but were greasy and lacked flavor. Our waitress was great: friendly and efficient. Will be back to try more menu items. read more

Great Greek food. From their huge salads to their falafel / gyro's, you can't make a bad choice at this place. With a small dining room the wait staff is limited. However the service is prompt and friendly. This isn't a fancy place. But instead a great family style restaurant that has a lot of take out business. I stumbled across Gyro Palace a few years ago and found it to be better than the place I had been going to. Even though it was further away, the food was so good it was worth the drive. The food was always fresh and plentiful. Over the past year, the gyro bread has gotten smaller, the meat is less and the quality is no longer top shelf. There are times the gyro meat is dried out and in bits instead of juicy slices. It really is disappointing.I'd much rather pay more to have the quality it used to be. read more

The food here is plentiful and delicious. We eat here at least once a month and are always happy . The servers are friendly and efficient. They remember customers and will speak to you for a while. The restaurant is small. I think they do more takeout but we generally don't have to wait for a table. There is a decent amount of parking. Sadly they are closed now for vacation and will reopen July 18th. It's going to be closed Sundays after that. We can't wait. read more

The fries are perfect, they cut the top out of the cover so they don't steam to a soggy mess when traveling. I almost want to give them a five for this thoughtfulness alone. I can only speak of take out with the Gyro platter as it was amazing. You get a huge portion of gyro and rice. You can also get it with salad or fries. I like the rice. It also comes with a side soup. The lemon chicken soup is so good. I need to come back for a bigger bowl of soup and a side of pita. This is by far my favorite greek place in nassau county! George and the staff are great and serve fresh authentic greek and Mediterranean food! My personal favorite is their Athenian salad with grilled chicken. Fresh chicken, feta, baby greens, and an awesome raspberry vinaigrette. Their gyros, spinach pie and greek fries are also awesome. My wife and I have been coming here for a while now. This is always our go to place for a great weekend lunch...and EVERY time...the food is consistently AMAZING, and the staff is always great. But somehow today...there must have been a little bit more love in both the air and the kitchen (or at least according to the owner...), because our lunch was just so extra special DELICIOUS!! I had gyro meat over Greek salad, and my wife had salmon over Greek salad. My Dad introduced me to this place and he knows good Greek food. We've been here several times. They do a robust take out business and have a small, informal seating area with waitress service. The same waitress has been here each time we've gone and she's great. The food is extremely tasty and the portions are HUGE. Stand outs are their lemon chicken soup, their lemon potatoes, their gyros and souvlaki dishes. There are (at least) 3 Greek restaurants in Merrick alone, and while this isn't my favorite one for dine-in, it is definitely my favorite one for takeout. It's a small family-owned restaurant (as many Greek spots are), and as you would imagine the staff is always welcoming and friendly. First of all the service is great, As soon as you walk in everyone greets you all smiles and the young ladies behind the counter are always so sweet and on point with orders. Now let's get to these mouth watering gyros..... We can't get an order without the crunchy seasoned fries, they are always perfect never soggy even when we get home they are still crunchy and hot.
