Ono Torched Salmon (with free pringles!)
    David Y.

Yummy protein, fresh ingredients, though pricier compared to other poke spots. Ono Poke Bar lived up to it's Hawaiian as it was a delicious experience. We got the Ono Torched Salmon and Kabayaki Unagi bowls, and both had good servings of the protein, a heaping amount of fresh sides, and great sauces. Main quibbles would be I would've liked more torch on the salmon, and the price-to-size ratio. Overall though, we really liked Ono. And in a city with a thousand poke offerings, this is one we'll be back for.

My favourite poke place. Always so fresh, tasty and large portions. I always feel great after eating it and not heavy. It is a healthy choice and I am full already with their small size. The torched salmon and tuna is my favourite. The crab salad is always the best topping!

Because of the yelp reviews, I Ordered this on Uber eats. It was indeed delicious and refreshing. The mango salmon bowl was a little spicy. I got it half brown and half greens instead of an entire rice portion or entire greens. I like the option of half rice and the half greens. Order two bowls and got the salmon bowl free for spending over $30 on Uber eats. Unfortunately the delivery cost is like $10. So it averages out with three bowls to be more worth while. The take out was well packaged and fresh.

Torched Salmon poké - corn, carrots, edamame, tempura bits, green onion, tamgao, masago, torched salmon and wasabi mayo

This probably more so a 3.5 and not quite a 4. Looking for something healthier in the Liberty Village area is kind of slim pickings so I opted to go for a poké. I ordered their torched salmon bowl which included rice, salad, edamame beans, carrots, corn, chives, tempura bits, roasted garlic, torched salmon (of course), tamago, masago with a wasabi mayo sauce. The portion was pretty big but ended up costing nearly $16 for the bowl. For that price it was definitely on the pricier side and to the point where I didn't think it was worth it. Service was also pretty standard, nothing really stood out from my experience. If you're in the area and craving for some poké, this is definitely an option to try but I won't be thinking that I have to come back specifically for their poké in the near future. Good try if you're in the area I guess!

    Saikoro Steak ($13.50)

I was looking for a quick bite to eat in the liberty village area when I spotted this place on the map. It's a pretty small restaurant, 6 indoor seats total, but has a decently sized menu. The servers were incredibly nice, but I got ticked off a bit when the debit machine asked for a tip (fast food joint). The menu has some interesting items I had never heard of like furikake (sesame seasoning) and tenkasu (tempura flakes). The food took a bit of time to prepare, but I didn't mind the wait. I ordered the Saikoro Steak ($13.50) which was a poke dish that came with a large variety of vegetables mixed in a spicy and subdlty sweet and creamy sauce. The sauce was awesome, and so we're the cuts of steak in the dish. The veggies we're also pretty sweet too: red cabbage, red onion, tomatoes, etc. The highlight was the tempura flakes mixed in the rice though. That nice contrast between soft rice and crunchy tempura was awesome. Overall, it was an average poke spot, but gosh I like poke bowls. A bit on the pricey side, but it's understandable as the dish had plenty of ingredients. I'd be happy to bring friends here again to try it.

    Avocado tofu

A brand new Ono Poke Bar opened at Humber Bay Shores on Marine Parade drive . We ordered the smoked tofu and the avocado bowls. They both were delicious. Fresh vegetables over warm rice and very tasty dressing. I was so happy to hear that they had vegan options

I ordered from this place for the first time today and I can't get over how amazing it was. I typically don't like poke bowls because I don't like raw food so I was happy that they had non fish options for people like me :) I ordered the avocado tofu bowl with brown rice and it was so freakin delicious!! The portion was huge too!! I honestly can't wait to order it again, I'm obsessed. Whether you love poke bowls or not, you will definitely love them from here!!

Easily one of my favourite Poké spots in the GTA. Along with Calii Love. Very generous portions, I've had a couple of their bowls, however my favourite is the Kabayaki Unagi! I had it as a burrito but I can imagine the bowl being just as delicious. Their ingredients are so fresh, especially their avocado, which is a key indicator that they know what's up. They are very generous with their portions, and you will definitely feel full. I highly recommend some taro chips for the road as they are crisp to perfection! Add some garlic mayo on the side too. Love this spot, will be back!

Build your own bowl with torched salmon, edamame beans, cucumbers, corn, carrots, bit of every topping option, and spicy mango sauce.

I gotta start by announcing that the pictures on here are downright deceiving - they make the Poké bowls look tiny in comparison to their actual hefty size. My eyes actually widened when I saw the amount of rice they filled the bowl with, and my belly protested afterwards too when it stretched to its limits. I have a decent appetite and I had to split by bowl into two separate meals. SPACE - The store itself has limited seating but they have a lovely patio area available, which was the perfect setting for a laid back dinner on a warm summer night. Space is clean and well organized, and they do have a washroom inside! FOOD - I got the torched salmon build-your-own bowl (after reading others' reviews about how rare this meat option was) with corn, carrots, cucumbers, and edamame beans for veggies/fruit options; a little of everything for toppings; and the spicy mango sauce for dressing (refreshingly sweet at first taste and a kick of spice at the end that sets your tongue on fire in a good way). If you're unsure of which sauce to get don't be afraid to ask to try them! My friend got the unagi bowl and as with my torched salmon bowl, I was surprised with the generous portions of meat given. The rice was also perfectly cooked! SERVICE - I was THAT person who hadn't decided what they wanted to order by the time they got to the cash register. Not only were the staff understanding and endlessly patient, they gave honest suggestions and opinions when asked. I struggled big time with choosing toppings, and throughout my whole "uh, do I want onions? Uh..no I don't want that.. actually yes a little.." disaster the staff remained helpful and good spirited. Honestly, I would give 3 stars for the amazing service alone (1 for each of the kind souls who held my hand through the whole process). Overall, the food was delicious and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family. I will be returning to fulfill my Poké cravings in the future for sure!

This is by far the best poke I've ever had in the city. I've only been twice and both times I got the build your own. You pick your fish, 4 add ons, plus a bunch of free things and sauces you can add. They don't skimp on anything and have unique ingredients I haven't seen at any other poke place like cheese!! I didn't get that, but it's there! What really put the cherry on top of my amazing poke bowl was the truffle mayo!!! MMM! I love anything truffle and this really did it for me. The staff are also beyond friendly! It's a small place so don't count on a seat If you go during a busy time but it's an excellent meal to get as take out.

Ono Poke Bar delivers to it's full extent. The special thing about Ono's Poke Bar is that they have torched salmon and torched tuna on their menu. As a fan of torched sushi, of course, I ordered the 'Ono' Torched Salmon poke bowl. Surprisingly, when the employee first took the empty clear plastic bowl up, I was shocked of how big the bowl itself was. Other poke places that I have been to don't have such a big bowl and I knew I was in for a treat. The employee put in masago, tamago, a big lump of avocado, carrot, corn, edamame, green onion, tenkasu, fried onion, furikake and topped it off with the torched salmon and wasabi mayo. After all that, I was ready to dig in. The poke bowl looks very appealing in terms of looks. After my first bite, I thought it was fantastic. All the ingredients compliment each other very well as the texture and taste were great. I am not a huge fan of wasabi in general so I thought the wasabi mayo overpowered much of the flavour of the bowl. Next time, I'll ask them to put less wasabi mayo. However, if you are a fan of wasabi, you would love it. The decor is nice with the limited amount of space they have. They also have a patio so you can enjoy your poke in the great outdoors. I definitely will come back to try the 'Ono' Torched Tuna poke bowl and maybe one day a sushi burrito but my love for poke bowls grew stronger after eating at 'Ono' Poke Bar.

I've been here twice and have tried their mango bowl and their torched salmon. I do enjoy the fact that they offer more unique bowls and have torched salmon and tuna, though I wasn't a huge fan of either of the bowls I've had. Ingredients were fresh but I didn't really think they went well together, and like someone else had said below, too much tempura bits. Their wasn't much fish in the bowl either. I'm also not huge on non marinated fish in poke bowls, but that's just personal preference. At the $15 I paid per bowl, it also seems a bit pricey, though the bowl was huge. Maybe they should have a smaller size for people to choose from for less. I work around here so maybe for my poke cravings I would visit again, but this is definitely not my favourite poke place unfortunately .

Pokito is a Hawaiian restaurant/take out joint located along Queen St. W. near Spadina Ave (close…read moreto Cameron St.). They've been a staple for poke in the area for years, however, their menu has expanded to include more Hawaiian foods like plate lunches and snacks (like onigiri and spam musubi). I recently stopped by Pokito to pick up take out for dinner as I had stumbled upon a $10 coupon from the restaurant over Facebook. Upon entering, the space is inviting and warm, with wooden accents throughout the space. There are several tables if you'd like to dine in. The menu is large and they also have daily deals as well. In the small fridge display they have a sample of their poke on display along with other items like onigiri, desserts, and drinks. Their poke bowls are likely the most popular items to be ordered but definitely don't skip out on the plate lunches as well! I opted to grab a garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch (tail-on shrimp sauteed in buttery garlic sauce on rice (can choose between white or brown rice) with mac salad and a salad slaw) for $22.50. I did have $10 off my order which was great. If you sign up for their rewards program you also get other deals as well (the next deal I get is 50% off a plate lunch for a limited time!). My order was made fresh which took about 5-10 min. I didn't mind as I just sat down to wait. Service was friendly and efficient. I had my garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch for dinner. Beware that the shrimp is really garlicy and delicious! Just be careful if you need to talk to someone afterwards because they will smell it. The rice absorbed some of that garlic flavour which made the rice even better. The mac salad was great and the salad slaw helped to cut through everything as well. Portions were large and I was full afterwards. Overall, a great place for Hawaiian plate lunches (and I'm sure poke as well!) in the Queen/Spadina area. Definitely will return to try more of their plate lunches as well as poke.

I had the spicy garlic ahi and the original ahi, and the tuna was so fresh I half expected it to still be swimming. It melted in my fat little mouth like it was apologizing for every bad life choice I've ever made. This honestly rivaled poke I've had in Honolulu, which is terrifying because that means I no longer need Hawaii--I can now die broke and mercury-riddled right here at home. The spicy ahi hits hard too. Caucasians, if you've ever cried during a Taco Bell mild sauce packet, you should probably update your life insurance before ordering. My only critique? More sides and toppings. If I'm going to spiral into heavy-metal toxicity, I want to do it with reckless abandon and at least three different crunchy things sprinkled on top. Still, this place is so good I'd happily shave a few years off my life expectancy for another bowl. Who needs retirement when you've got poke like this?

I changed things up and visited the food court at Atrium on Bay. It was nice seeing several stalls open at around 4:30 pm. It was a toss-up choice between My Sushi or Fusia Asian Kitchen. I looked at the former's menu and liked what I saw. An early dinner from My Sushi, it was! You can get a bunch of sushi rolls. There were many options. I took one look at the poke menu and knew I needed a bowl. I got a regular. You can also do a large. A Chinese couple owns this business. The man took my order. The woman prepared my bowl. The man was helpful and nice. He said that I could do rice or salad, or half of each, if I liked. I went with salad. For the sauce, I chose teriyaki. I also got a Diet Coke. I waited patiently for my food. It didn't take too long. The woman asked if I needed a plastic bag. I waived it off, as I was going to rip open and devour my food at the food court. I cracked open my can of Diet Coke. It was cold and hit the spot. I loved my poke bowl. The salmon was fresh and yummy. The mandarin oranges were a nice twist. They brightened this bowl significantly. There were crispy green bits that I enjoyed, but I didn't know what I ate... lol The greens are iceberg lettuce. I would have liked mixed greens, but the crisp lettuce worked out surprisingly nicely. The half-avocado's presentation was amazing. It was cubed and fanned out. This find was awesome! I would love to return for more. The regular-sized poke bowl was perfect. Down the road, I can see my getting a large. Perhaps I'll try the sashimi next. I love sashimi! (197)
