    Yummy poke bowls
    Linda L.

Poke Guys is really close to my workplace so I decided to get lunch there with my coworkers. We ordered the poke bowls on a food delivery app for pick up and the process was very smooth, from selecting the toppings to getting our order accepted. They have a few poke base to choose from such as white rice, brown rice, soba noodles, and salad. The poke bowls were done in 10 mins after ordering and it was smooth pick up when we arrived. I like that the salmon was well marinated and they use salmon belly so it has a more softer, fattier texture which I really love. I'll definitely order from Poke Guys again next time I'm in the office!

It's been a go-to spot for Poke for me and purchase like twice over the month. Their new bases, soba, cauliflower rice, and zucchini noodles, are delicious and not many poke places offer it if at all. My recent purchase was their new fire fin offering. Pretty good though I'm not a fan of the jalapeno peppers as a topping too intense for me. It does pack a punch with the jalapenos and kimchi if you like it spicy. Hefty fresh portions, love the garnishes and sauces to complete the meal. Large is a good size for sharing, and regular is enough to fill me up and more.

They serve delicious poke bowls, invented in Hawaii. Their ingredients are always fresh and flavourful. Our favourite bowl is the Aloha Bowl. There are signature bowls (small $12.75 and large $15.75 - prices have increased in 2021). The large size is enough for 2 people. There is also a building-your-own-bowl option (regular $10.75, large $14.00). Their portions are actually quite large (one portion of protein is actually 2 scoops)! Service has always been good. This is my wife's favourite Poke restaurant in Toronto. We've been to this restaurant 5 times since Nov 2019. On 2021-08-06, we chose the following for our build-your-own bowl ($10.75): soba noodles (base), classic Shoyu salmon (protein 1 scoop), sweet & spicy shrimp (protein 1 scoop), mango, creamy togarashi (sauce), spicy unagi (sauce), and garnishes (B&W sesame seeds, crispy onions, crispy garlic, nori, watermelon radish, tempura bits). We were pleasantly surprised by the number of shrimp and salmon pieces we got in the bowl! On our 2020-09-18 visit, we got 2 different bowls: 1. Cali Bowl (large $15.75 - $16.50 in 2021): white rice, classic Shoyu salmon & tuna, avocado, crab meat slaw, masago, fried onions, nori, and B&W sesame seeds. 2. Aloha Bowl (large $15.75 - $16.25 in 2021): white rice,  honey ginger salmon, crab meat slaw, edamame, seaweed salad, masago, fried onions, and B&W sesame seeds. Added unagi sauce and spicy aioli sauce. On our 2020-07-23 visit, we got the following bowl: 1. Cali Bowl with Yuzu salmon and soba noodles (large $22.25). There are no indoor or outdoor seating areas. There is a park across the street with several picnic tables. During pandemic times, customers and staff wear face masks. There are plexiglass between the staff (and food) and customers. There is music playing in the background. There are no free WiFi or customer washrooms. It is wheelchair accessible.  Parking is not easy with only a few street parking spots. There is a parking garage at Yonge and Bloor and it is near the Dundas and St. Patrick subway stations. The first time I tried Poke Guys was through the Yelp Elite event, and I thought it was so delicious I had to get it a second time. I ordered through a delivery app and this time I got the volcano bowl on soba, and had it with the yuzu shoyu and creamy togarashi sauce. Honestly, the togarashi sauce was applied way too heavy-handidly and it kind of ruined the entire dish. Which is weird because I had the same sauce combination when I got it the first time and they put a reasonable amount. All I could taste when eating this time was the mayonnaise, and it totally drowned out the delicate flavours of the fish and soba. This could be just a personal preference, but I also felt like the fish was cut into way too large chunks. I wish they were diced a little smaller so they could be spread out more evenly while I'm eating. Such a disappointment because the first time I had Poke Guys was one of the best Pokes I've had in the city. Whereas this last time was honestly a bit of a miss for me. Even though this last experience wasn't great I'll give them 4 stars because I think (and hope) it was just a one off. Poke Guys does a lot of things right. I love the wide variety of garnishes, and I also love all the unique bases they have such as soba and cauliflower rice. I will just stay clear from any creamy sauces in the future.

I came here hungry and craving sashimi and salad. Poke was the perfect choice. The staff here are welcoming and attentive. Even when they're busy they're communicative and let you know you're next up. It was my first experience here and the staff explained the process for building my own bowl thoroughly. I went with honey ginger salmon and spicy shrimp with mango, avocado and spicy seaweed salad on kale with spicy unagi sauce. My dude didn't make me feel guilty for adding on all the toppings lol. After making my bowl, my man put the bowl on the table for photo ops before putting on the lid knowing I'm a yelper. The mango and avocado was ripe to perfection and the salmon was fatty and tender. The whole bowl was flavor city, beautiful and bright! Spicy level was mild. This place is strictly take out but right across the street is a cute little parkette with benches and tables and plenty of green to help make you feel like you're not in the city. I'd definitely come back for a poke fix.

My rating is 4.5 stars. I have been a fan of Poke Guys for a while. In the past, when we had Yelp events before this pandemic (it feels like eons), poke bowls were offered and I got hooked. After visiting this downtown location, I can finally say that I have visited both locations. Downtown Markham is its other location. During Buy One Get What?! around the GTA, one of the offers was at this Poke Guys location. If you buy one signature poke bowl, you get your second one at 50% the regular price. Did I really need two poke bowls? Do fish swim? On a rare Monday off from work, I visited my hometown and stopped here to get lunch. The reason for not giving a five-star review is that parking wasn't available along Elizabeth Street, which was unfortunate. Luckily, there was the parking lot under Nathan Phillips Square. However, if you're a Markhamite who needs a car to get home, it's not the best setup. It's one of many things I miss about living in Toronto. I would have taken the TTC here and wouldn't have thought about parking. I walked in and was greeted by a woman who was fulfilling a takeout order. Her counterpart was sitting at a table that was meant for employees, eating lunch. Most people would be annoyed to have waited a minute to be helped, but it gave me some time to look at the menu and take photos. I ordered the following bowls, both regular in size: - Cali with mixed greens - Aloha with soba noodles My go-to is the first one. I have never had soba noodles at Poke Guys, so I gave it a shot. The woman was so nice. She asked what other toppings and sauces I wanted. I also grabbed a Diet Coke from the beverages section. I paid with a debit card. It was seamless. She packed everything up for me in a plastic bag, including plastic utensils and chopsticks. I thanked her and walked over to Larry Sefton Park to chow down. I ate the Cali bowl first, simply because mixed greens taste better fresh. Fresh is the first word that comes to mind. The crab and protein had tons of flavour. The veggies were crisp. I loved the seaweed and avocado. It's simply my favourite poke bowl. For dinner, I had the aloha bowl. That crab slaw is addictive. The soba noodles held up well several hours later. I liked them. I will order soba noodles more often! Everything tasted fresh. I was impressed. Whenever I'm back in this area, I will definitely stop by. Here's hoping that I will either be lucky parking on the street or will relive my days as a commuter in my hometown. (383)

I refuse to get poke from anywhere else now. The large bowl is LARGE. They do not skimp on the fish and every product tastes nice and fresh. They have unique things like the watermelon radish. None of this takes away from the start of the show, which is the fish. I cannot reiterate enough.. THE PORTIONS!!!

Our line up. Minus the extra watermelon radishes in the container.

Sushi lovers unite! Second time trying Poké and it was delicious! When I hear, Poké, I just wanna say Pokémon. So let's get that outta the way. Pokémon. There are other connections that can be made, depending on the associations you have. However, this review is about the FOOOOD. So let's get to it. If you are new to Poké, or don't know what it is, it's a sushi grade style of raw fish, marinating in soy sauce and sesame oil, as a topper they add scallions, lumi (a type of seaweed) and Hawaiian onions. I consider it a dish remniscient of a salad, yet, it's often called a bowl. I gather it's a choice to have it on a bed of greens and veggies (salad) or on rice or other grain (bow). It features ingredients close to the sea, like raw fish, seaweed, there's edamame (not from the sea) and other vegetables. Most places I would say you could build your own, and select ingredients of your choosing, which is always a bonus. And the Poké Guys delivered on that! First time I tried Poké was in Winnepeg and there are spots popping up all over the city. It's always nice trying some place new. If raw fish isn't for you, maybe they have an option that you'd like, however a signature part of Poké is in fact the raw fish. Perhaps reconsider if you don't like sushi. Okay, this is being written a couple years later so it's hard to recall fully what my experience was. However, I remember the colours! Anytime there are a variety of colours on a dish it makes it pretty and more enjoyable to eat. Also Poké having origins in Hawaii and/or Japan, bespeaks to me, of health. I also remember it being good. Kinda skeptical and scared to even eat it, I mean, it has raw fish and the blend of ingredients I made, I didnt know if it would taste good, yet it did and it always does! I remember we were hungry and diving in was easy. Having these images brings me back to the day, and looking at them now makes me wanna go out and get a bowl. Enjoy!

This has been one of my favourite poke spots for a while; they have good quality ingredients and a diverse selection of toppings. I used to think they had the best quality poke / fish of all the spots in Toronto, but the quality today was pretty average. The toppings were good though, especially the seaweed salad. This spot is definitely worth a try.

    Lily Z.

Great place when craving poke bowls! This place is kind of tucked away from the main road but is really great -- the variety of toppings make the bowls super customizeable and everything is super fresh! Service was really quick and easy and the staff were so nice - would definitely go again!

    Nada S.

Ok these guys are my fav poke bow in the city. Hands down the best portion sizes quality of sashimi and free toppings they offer cannot be beat! The sauces are all amazing and the price is sooooo reasonable for what you get! If you haven't been here yet don't hesitate just do it.

    PG Bowl - nice combination
    Danica C.

Based on my coworker's recommendation, I tried Poke Guys. They have options to build your own box, get the preset Signature Bowls or just get the poke alone. Compares to the other Poke place I usually go, they offer less choices of base and topping. However, The Signature Bowls have some good selection. First time I had the Cali Bowl which I find they put too much sauce and overrode the flavor of everything else. The brown rice was not cooked. First experience hindered me to visit them again. However, I visited Poke Guys with the Ritual incentive. This time I had the PG Bowl which I enjoyed very much. The flavor was well balanced and refreshing. This place is very packed during lunch hour, so make sure you have plenty of time to wait in line or order online, and seating is limited.

Poke Guys - Cali Bowl w/ salmon & tuna shoyu, crab meat slaw, avocado, spicy aioli sauce
    Mike H.

Seeking a quick and refreshing lunch? Poke Guys' joint does not disappoint. When I visited, their line was out the door which is always a good sign, even if the ordering counter starts near the entrance. Cali Bowl was just right for the dreary snowy day! It was filled to the brim with chunks of shoyu salmon & ahi tuna along with crab meat slaw, avocado and spicy aioli sauce on top of rice. Sure, the fish and toppings were tasty but it was their unique garnishes such as watermelon radish and furikake that made the difference in the meal. A visit to Poke Guys was worth the trek despite the slushy roads. I'll certainly be back again for another worth-it meal when I'm craving a poke bowl.

They've been a staple for poke in the area for years, however, their menu has expanded to include more Hawaiian foods like plate lunches and snacks (like onigiri and spam musubi). I recently stopped by Pokito to pick up take out for dinner as I had stumbled upon a $10 coupon from the restaurant over Facebook. Upon entering, the space is inviting and warm, with wooden accents throughout the space. There are several tables if you'd like to dine in. The menu is large and they also have daily deals as well. In the small fridge display they have a sample of their poke on display along with other items like onigiri, desserts, and drinks. Their poke bowls are likely the most popular items to be ordered but definitely don't skip out on the plate lunches as well! I opted to grab a garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch (tail-on shrimp sauteed in buttery garlic sauce on rice (can choose between white or brown rice) with mac salad and a salad slaw) for $22.50. I did have $10 off my order which was great. If you sign up for their rewards program you also get other deals as well (the next deal I get is 50% off a plate lunch for a limited time!). My order was made fresh which took about 5-10 min. I didn't mind as I just sat down to wait. Service was friendly and efficient. I had my garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch for dinner. Beware that the shrimp is really garlicy and delicious! Just be careful if you need to talk to someone afterwards because they will smell it. The rice absorbed some of that garlic flavour which made the rice even better. The mac salad was great and the salad slaw helped to cut through everything as well. Portions were large and I was full afterwards. Overall, a great place for Hawaiian plate lunches (and I'm sure poke as well!) in the Queen/Spadina area. Definitely will return to try more of their plate lunches as well as poke.

The spicy ahi hits hard too. Caucasians, if you've ever cried during a Taco Bell mild sauce packet, you should probably update your life insurance before ordering. My only critique? More sides and toppings. If I'm going to spiral into heavy-metal toxicity, I want to do it with reckless abandon and at least three different crunchy things sprinkled on top. Still, this place is so good I'd happily shave a few years off my life expectancy for another bowl. Who needs retirement when you've got poke like this?
