The place is clean, and the Poke bowls they have look good and are really good. There is some seating available inside to dine in. The items are just a little bit pricey.

Came to Hoki Poke based on some pretty solid reviews. Walked in to this clean, well lit yet relatively small place. On the menu is poke bowls and poke burritos. A pretty decent variety and selection of both. As well if you want to craft your own creation. Asked the staff what they would recommend, and the Hawaii bowl was the recommended fave. So I went with that. The bowl was wrapped up in a bag, as I think they expect most of their customers to take the meals away. There are a few stools around to eat in. So I decided to hang out and eat in. As I took the lid off, I was actually quite surprised by the number of items I saw. Shredded seaweed, cabbage, edamame, cucumber, onion flakes, spinach, some type of sauce, Salmon, and of course rice. It was all good, but I think I was lost on how much more is in here than is required. I was also surprised by the purple rice that was used in the bowl. Overall, the bowl was fresh and flavorful. I just think that Hoki Poke could focus more on a fewer ingredients.

I ordered from Hoki Poke off of UberEats. Per their website, it's the only way to order delivery. Their preset bowls seem to be really good value so I went with the Classic Bowl that has a mix of tuna and salmon and typical poke bowl flavours - a soy based sauce with toppings like cucumber and edamame on rice. Some of the more interesting toppings were spring greens, red cabbage, and shredded dry seaweed. Tasty and healthy! I found the delivery order to be packaged nicely and securely in a plastic bowl within a paper bag.

3.5 rounded up to a 4 Having moved near this area recently, I immediately tied to seek out a new favorite Poke place to frequent. Unfortunately Hoki Poke didn't really hit the spot for me. I tried their spicy salmon bowl and although it was good, it just wasn't up there with the best poke bowls that I've tried in downtown Toronto. First of all, their selection is a bit limited in terms of bases and toppings- they only offer purple rice (no white or brown rice options). They were also missing some of my favorite toppings like mango, tangerine, tomatoes, etc. The most important part of the poke is the fish and they did give a pretty decent portion of it although it was slightly too salty with the soy sauce marinade. Overall, the flavors did work well together and the sauce was very delicious (it was a sweet and spicy mayo). I would definitely visit again when I'm too lazy to walk further out but I really wish they had more customizability and options!

I got the spicy salmon poke bowl delivered via Ubereats and it was AMAZING! This is probably my first time trying Poke bowls and it was a great experience, I'm obsessed. The spicy mayo and the black rice was such a great combination. I also loved the crunchy tempura bits they added into the bowl. I was a little worried about the vegetables in the bowls, I'm a little picky with what types of raw veggies I like, and that's why I've been hesitant to give Poke bowls a try. Surprisingly, I liked every single aspect of the bowl, the portion size was great and very filling. I will definitely be going back again!

I've been passing by lately and decided to try Poke from this place and ordered through ritual. I got the classic bowl in the largest size, and added avocado and seaweed salad, and miso soup as a side. Everything was really tasty and the largest size was a great portion. Highly recommend!

Dropped by after studying and I was 1) SUPER HUNGRY and 2) CRAVING POKE! The location is very convenient for individuals in the heart of downtown near the campuses. I got a regular size of the original bowl which was composed of ahi tuna and salmon, house soy sauce, cucumber, green and sweet onion, greens, tobiko, edamame, sesame seeds, nori, onion crisps, and red cabbage for around $12.50. First off, the service here is great and very friendly. Super friendly cashier and they greet you when you enter. Secondly, the food was delicious. The purple rice was seasoned with some soya sauce concoction (who knows what but it was delicious). The ingredients worked together to make a yummy masterpiece. However, disappointingly, the amount of sashimi in the bowl was limited and underwhelming. I had to eat some of the rice by itself to conserve sashimi for the end of my meal. I've had other poke bowls with a 1:1 ratio of rice to sashimi but Hoki Poke had a small portion of tuna and salmon AND they were cut small. Food and service was great, portion wasn't.

We clearly love this place. LOL Left to right: Oahu, Maui, classic.

I have been to this place at least 3 times already on the recommendations by my friend. Definitely one of the better Poke places that I have tried around Toronto. They offer a good selection of varieties to try and if the pre-set ones don't float your boat then you can custom make your bowl as well. All of the bowls offer salmon or tuna, but I hope they add octopus in the future as well for extra variety. They also have sushi burrito bowls and one vegetarian option as well! Interior: a couple of tables to sit at and a bar style by the window. Two sizes are offered, regular and large and I find most of the time, the regular size is enough for lunch/dinner, but if you're feeling extra hungry or want to share, then the large is great too! So far I have tried the Classic bowl, Maui bowl (sp?), and for this visit the Oahu bowl and they are all extremely delicious. The fish was seasoned well and I appreciate the healthier choice that they use black rice in all of their bowls. If you wish, you can add avocado for $1. Price wise, it is more on the expensive side. My Oahu bowl - torched salmon, tempura flakes, all base toppings plus added avocado came out to be $18 after tax, but for the size of the regular bowl compared to other places seems well worth the price. My favourite poke place?? I think I mentioned that? Please try it!!

Came here with friends after recommendation from another friend. Was pleasantly surprised by how delicious their offerings are. On this visit, I ordered the classic bowl in regular size (ahi tuna, salmon, house soy sauce, all base toppings and onion crisps) - the portion of fish to rice was just right, a little on the salty side and could've used a bit more onion crisps for crunch My friends ordered the spicy bowl in regular size (salmon, spicy mayo, all base toppings and tempura flakes) - I like the spicy mayo, more spicy than other places which was a welcomed surprise, the salmon was super fresh and I think it could've used onion crisps in the mix to cut through the mayo-taste and Hawaii bowl in large size (torched salmon, spicy mayo, wasabi mayo, teriyaki sauce, all base toppings and onion crisps) - we added seaweed salad into the bowl and it created awesome bites, each and every time. My only gripe about this bowl was the rice - was waaaaay too much for this bowl with not enough fish. The restaurant is on the smaller side which makes sense as a lot of people seemed to prefer this food for take out or sit at the bar stools against one wall which we did.

I tried the Hawaii bowl and loved it. It was full of flavour. I loved the torched salmon. I would definitely order it again!

This bowl came with seared Tuna, tempura bits, purple rice and an assortment of veggies. Topped off with two delicious spicy mayos and some soy sauce based dressing. Holy this was amazing, everything tasted fresh and well prepared. If you like Sushi this is a great way to get it in a salad form. It was filling, I got a Large and it was definitely worth it. It was a reasonably priced for the portion and quality of food you're getting. Will be coming back more often.

    Hawaiian shaved ice!
    Stella J.

A group of us stopped by here for dessert when we saw that they offered shaved ice. Not knowing it was a poke bowl place, we went inside and the aroma of poke took me by shock. We browsed the menu to look for shaved ice but no avail, then we saw a small sign on the side which showed three flavours: mango, strawberry and green apple pineapple. The shaved ice was really good but there were two things that bothered us. One, the service was very bad and two it took a looong time for the ice machine to make 4 bowls. One of girls working there was either in a bad mood or intentionally very rude to us and we ended up waiting 20 minutes after ordering to get our shaved ice. It was good but if you're on a timeframe, look elsewhere for dessert.

I dropped by Hoki Poke as I was craving some poke this week. Located at Yonge and Wellesley, this poke place is mainly a take out eatery with around 8 seats by the front of the place. I ordered the spicy bowl which included salmon, spicy mayo, green and sweet onion, cucumber, greens, edamame, sesame seeds, tobiko, nori, and tempura flakes. Service was friendly and quick and the regular portion was filling. Fish tasted fresh and of good quality and the purple rice was great as well. The spicy bowl isn't too spicy but has a kick to it. Will be coming back for more if I'm around the area and craving for poke!

Pokito is a Hawaiian restaurant/take out joint located along Queen St. W. near Spadina Ave (close…read moreto Cameron St.). They've been a staple for poke in the area for years, however, their menu has expanded to include more Hawaiian foods like plate lunches and snacks (like onigiri and spam musubi). I recently stopped by Pokito to pick up take out for dinner as I had stumbled upon a $10 coupon from the restaurant over Facebook. Upon entering, the space is inviting and warm, with wooden accents throughout the space. There are several tables if you'd like to dine in. The menu is large and they also have daily deals as well. In the small fridge display they have a sample of their poke on display along with other items like onigiri, desserts, and drinks. Their poke bowls are likely the most popular items to be ordered but definitely don't skip out on the plate lunches as well! I opted to grab a garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch (tail-on shrimp sauteed in buttery garlic sauce on rice (can choose between white or brown rice) with mac salad and a salad slaw) for $22.50. I did have $10 off my order which was great. If you sign up for their rewards program you also get other deals as well (the next deal I get is 50% off a plate lunch for a limited time!). My order was made fresh which took about 5-10 min. I didn't mind as I just sat down to wait. Service was friendly and efficient. I had my garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch for dinner. Beware that the shrimp is really garlicy and delicious! Just be careful if you need to talk to someone afterwards because they will smell it. The rice absorbed some of that garlic flavour which made the rice even better. The mac salad was great and the salad slaw helped to cut through everything as well. Portions were large and I was full afterwards. Overall, a great place for Hawaiian plate lunches (and I'm sure poke as well!) in the Queen/Spadina area. Definitely will return to try more of their plate lunches as well as poke.

I had the spicy garlic ahi and the original ahi, and the tuna was so fresh I half expected it to still be swimming. It melted in my fat little mouth like it was apologizing for every bad life choice I've ever made. This honestly rivaled poke I've had in Honolulu, which is terrifying because that means I no longer need Hawaii--I can now die broke and mercury-riddled right here at home. The spicy ahi hits hard too. Caucasians, if you've ever cried during a Taco Bell mild sauce packet, you should probably update your life insurance before ordering. My only critique? More sides and toppings. If I'm going to spiral into heavy-metal toxicity, I want to do it with reckless abandon and at least three different crunchy things sprinkled on top. Still, this place is so good I'd happily shave a few years off my life expectancy for another bowl. Who needs retirement when you've got poke like this?

I changed things up and visited the food court at Atrium on Bay. It was nice seeing several stalls open at around 4:30 pm. It was a toss-up choice between My Sushi or Fusia Asian Kitchen. I looked at the former's menu and liked what I saw. An early dinner from My Sushi, it was! You can get a bunch of sushi rolls. There were many options. I took one look at the poke menu and knew I needed a bowl. I got a regular. You can also do a large. A Chinese couple owns this business. The man took my order. The woman prepared my bowl. The man was helpful and nice. He said that I could do rice or salad, or half of each, if I liked. I went with salad. For the sauce, I chose teriyaki. I also got a Diet Coke. I waited patiently for my food. It didn't take too long. The woman asked if I needed a plastic bag. I waived it off, as I was going to rip open and devour my food at the food court. I cracked open my can of Diet Coke. It was cold and hit the spot. I loved my poke bowl. The salmon was fresh and yummy. The mandarin oranges were a nice twist. They brightened this bowl significantly. There were crispy green bits that I enjoyed, but I didn't know what I ate... lol The greens are iceberg lettuce. I would have liked mixed greens, but the crisp lettuce worked out surprisingly nicely. The half-avocado's presentation was amazing. It was cubed and fanned out. This find was awesome! I would love to return for more. The regular-sized poke bowl was perfect. Down the road, I can see my getting a large. Perhaps I'll try the sashimi next. I love sashimi! (197)
