This restaurant has a great location. It's very centrally located. Parking by the restaurant is very limited but there is a large parking lot just a few feet away. Staff is very friendly and conscientious about limiting your wait in line. Food is freshly cooked, wait time is short, serving sizes are huge. I got 3 meals out of my BBQ beef plate. Extra sauce is available via self serve. Tables and eating area are kept very clean. I wish I lived closer so I could come again. Give them a try for a little mainland aloha. read more

I ordered my son chicken katsu and the chicken was still pink. Went to the worker to ask if they can cook it more, he told me that the chicken will be pink but it's cooked. Umm, no it was raw! I told him I'm from Hawaii and we order chicken katsu all the time, he then proceeded to tell me that this is not an authentic Hawaiian restaurant, I get it, but to serve my son raw chicken is uncalled for. They took the plate back and he said he will ask the cooks to make a new one. I got my son's food back and it was literally still raw. They basically just reheated it in the microwave or something. We just threw it away, not worth going back and forth with it. Never again eating here. read more

Great Food and it's a hit or miss on the cashier. Some could use a little more training but there's a youthful vibrant dirty-blonde haired kid that ALWAYS makes coming here worth the drive. I found out his name was Jessie tonight after visiting again... His customer service skills are beyond amazing! Wish more places had a Jessie in them! I live in the Merced area and I drive out here for the great food AND continue returning because of the great service Jessie gives. I usually order the family meal. The great thing is you can pick and choose from their extensive menu. I normally order the steamed veggies, White rice, crispy sliced chicken (Chicken Katsu), BBQ teriyaki chicken (no sauce). And then buy a coconut drink. Literally you sip from a nice long straw straight out of the actual coconut they offer. You take the coconut home to eat when your done. Not a fancy restaurant but good for a fast meal! Ordered online and food ready at time promised. Food tasted fresh and order was correct even with our special requests. Employees pleasant. If you eat at the restaurant the atmosphere is not like transitional restaurants. Just tables in a big room. Also you order at the counter and pick up. Veggies consist of cabbage only. I always order from here through DoorDash. I love the food. Today I went into the store with my family and mia was running the register. I said hello, how are you today? And she stared at me with a smug look and didn't say a word. I then said how are you again and she gave a dim reply, saying (good).I ordered my usual Hawaiian mix and a kids meal for my son and daughter to share. The kids meal comes with one apple sauce and apple juice so I asked to add another of each for my son and she replied smugly, you need to order another kids meal because we don't sell them separately. Basically refused a sale. Regardless if that's the policy or not I went next door to chipotle and ordered the apple juices from them and came back. Food was good but needed an extra fork so I went back up to ask and was greeted by Mia yet again which I asked if I can please have an extra fork. She stared at me with an awkward silence for about 15 seconds and bent down grabbed one and handed it to me I said thank you and she didn't respond again. I understand days are hard sometimes it's difficult and stressful to be working fast food but no one in there seemed like they wanted to be working at all not one smile not one greeter and honestly just seemed pretty rude and unfriendly vibe. Ordered all Mac for my sides and they thought they were slick, gave me 1 scoop mac and the rest was rice. Too late to go back because by the time I got home and took a look, they were closed. I ordered it online for pick up. They asked for my first and last name and what my order was when I went in to pick it up. Which I thought was weird, but they said they just wanted to make sure it was my order. So, it was a surprise to me when my order was wrong. Placed a 2 plate order for a scheduled pick up 2 hours in advance. When I arrived for my order, they were just putting it in the bag which made pick up easy. Everything I ordered was there when I checked! I ordered a Shrimp & BBQ Chicken Combo plate and a Pick Two Aloha plate with Hawaiian BBQ Chicken and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken. We opted for more rice instead of the salads which worked great because the rice was fantastic! The veggies in the combo plate was just cabbage, no broccoli. The Hawaiian BBQ Chicken was great, even as a leftover the next day. The Grilled Teriyaki Chicken pretty good too. My only complaint is with the shrimp. They were too greasy which kind of made them soggy. They weren't inedible but it might be a big deal to someone who wanted crispier shrimp. I was told if I wasn't in the door in 2 minutes my order would be cancelled. I said of course I do I'm walking in. Then I walked in and Shawn was snappy with me about walking up to the wrong cash register but as i stood there waiting he apparently was mad they were making my order and said you know you have a 20 minute. I love Onos I drive an hour just to get it! I probably won't go back(atleast to this location) for a while after my experience today. The staff is normally polite but the staff today isn't friendly and pretty rude. There were only four orders ahead of mine and it took about 40 minutes. When you order a large katsu chicken plate and a large teriyaki chicken.... YOU WANT SAUCE! They are only giving out two sauces and they won't even let you buy extra, to make it even better the little sauce containers they give you are almost completely empty. It was hard to choke down such a dry meal. If I would've known I would have took my $46 to panda express. It was THAT dry. read more
