Best at brisket! This is an order at the window and eat on the patio place. This is perfect Central Valley Charm and top notch service. Nice theme and decor. Come early or you get stuck in the heat. Orrrrr you end up not getting anything. The hours of operation are hard to nail down. Basically show up at 11 or you might not get food. Also days are the end of the week. The Brisket Sandwich - If this was the only thing I ordered this bbq would have been a 7 out of 5 stars. Hands down the best brisket I've ever had. Cowboy Corn - good corn, kinda like elote. I could have eaten it with chips. Needs a little more spice. Corn bread - warm and delicious. We got an edge. Ooohhh ahhhh. A little crisped. Definitely should be served with butter and honey though. Combo - Chicken - good seasoning, better with the sauce. Pulled pork - not salted. Definitely needs sauce when you enjoy. Mac and cheese - muah. Chef kiss. I'm not a big fan of mac and this stuff had me tempted to take it all for myself. Potato salad - excellent flavor good care. Red potatoes. Cooked to perfection. I really wanted to be wowed. I really wanted the meal to be juicy and delicious. I really wanted to rave about a hidden gem in Houghson. Had the little hoss meal that was 70 bucks for some dry salty ribs, dry pulled pork, completely dry chicken, and some tender brisket that seems like they dipped in salt. I don't accustom to eat and drink a beverage, I usually wait until after for my drink but in this case, every bite had to be followed with a drink because of how dry everything was. Guy at the window was very personable. Made sure I didn't get anything spicy. We had 3 ribs. A sausage, A tritip sandwich, brisket and pulled pork and corn bread. Sides were Mac and cheese, baked beans and cowboy corn. Everything was great. Serving size was decent. Cost was $118 with tip. Worth it. Only thing to make it better would be soda refills. The outdoor seating was ok. We sat on the backless benches and utilized the umbrella to avoid too much sun. The inside was not open at the time. Although, I was able to use the restroom. It was clean, but they ran out of paper towels. The customer service was fine, nothing stood out (good or bad). We ordered some food to eat there and some to go. I liked the corn (it was a mixture of items, not plain corn. Even though I am picky, I actually liked it.) The corn is tied with mac & cheese for first in my book. We also ordered sausage, brisket, and potato salad. I wanted to try more sides than what came with the meal. My friend ordered a lot to go. It was pretty expensive in my opinion. I think I spent around 80+ dollars. It was mostly because the meal deals didn't include exactly what I wanted. We haven't been back since, but then again we don't travel to this area that often. We all know fat is flavor and between the seasoning and some fat it was most definitely packed with flavor and just melted in your mouth! Sandwiched between what I believe is a warm brioche bun, mayo, bbq sauce, crisp onions and pickles, was absolutely phenomenal! Very disappointed with this business. Last few times, the BBQ has been deplorable. The ribs have been gritty like they have been dropped in dirt. The Tri-Tip tasted reheated. The chicken is decent but not worth the trouble. For sides the potato salad was rubbery and the macaroni was dry. It's sad that I would rather go to Chili's for their ribs over this place. read more

Great good, poor customer service. On Yelp, the hours show they are open until 5pm on Sundays, and on Google, the hours show they are open until 4pm on the same day. I call at 1:56pm, telling them we're on the way and asked if they still have food, understanding sometimes they run out. The person responds, stating they are very slow at the moment, and will certainly have food available until 3:30pm. Once we arrive, just before 3pm, the blinds were closed and we we're turned away, as the person opened the door to say they're all sold out. Then a person in the back says "they should've called"! How unprofessional! You should be open when you say you're open and account for the right amount of inventory. Further, it makes so sense! If you want to grow your business, have better, more accommodating hours and operate in the spirit of excellence. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Don't gaslight your customers. Together with friends we ordered 3 rib dinners as part of a Manteca Chamber of Commerce fundraiser. We had no clue how the BBQ would be or who was supplying it. Saw the Slick Fork truck in the parking lot when we drove in and curious. Well we got back to the house of friends to enjoy our meal and ohhhhh my did we enjoy it. One regret we all had was not ordering two -- one for then, and one for the next day. The ribs were perfect even without the BBQ sauce, but it was so tasty too that had it on most bites. Now we want to drive out to Hughson and get the best BBQ I've had outside of Texas. Can't wait to have more ribs and try their brisket.
